I originally rented a small unit and realized after a week of moving items in that it was not going to be big enough. I called the office and was told they did not do any kind of prorated refund if I moved into a bigger unit. The rep then tried to get me to move out of the unit quickly and turn it back over before the month was up. I went online and rented bigger unit and paid the $245 right then. I began to move items in and a short time later checked my bank account. U-haul had taken the $245 out of my account three times instead of just once. This caused other payments to not go thru and I have been dealing with a mess because of it. I once again called the office and the worker was obviously distracted with another conversation but told me that it would correct itself, but to call back if it didn’t. A few days later u-haul returned all three payments into my account instead of just returning two. I then started getting late notices and a charge of $15 went onto my account. Tried 6 different times to call the office and nobody every answered the phone. Finally got a hold of someone and she told me that the charge was going to be removed so I could pay the storage fee again, it was never removed. Called again yesterday and finally got the charge removed but asked to speak to a manger about what occurred with my back account. I was told he’s pretty busy and probably won’t have time to call. Got up this morning to see an email from the manager adding the $15 late fee back into my account again. I will use any other company besides u-haul next time I move.

I’ll NEVER use U-Haul again and I’ll tell all my friends and anyone who thinks about using this trash company what my experience has been. You stole from me and that is unacceptable.

I feel like u-haul took advantage of me, overcharged me. I would not use u-haul again. I will certainly tell others who are moving about my experience.

There is insufficient lighting that turns off at inopportune times. No individual unit lights, which are vital for larger units like mine. No ability to select which free unit to pick. Multiple calls to manager were unsuccessful, so my question as to placement of the PODS container for unloading was unclear, I had to wing it causing much more work to get things done same day.

I was unclear about which number pad to use and called the customer service for help. They answered immediately and walked me through the checkin process and it was easy. Everything was very nice.

The facility is very nice and especially liked the loading/unloading area with the roll up door as the weather was not good. This allowed us to back inside and unload. Unfortunately it would have been nice to get some direction on entry into the facility as this was after hours. At first we didn't think that we could get in with the code. Somewhat confusing. Also, there appeared to be several available units closer to the entrance but we were assigned a unit at the very back of the building. Appreciated the use of the carts as we had a long walk to the unit.

Overall experience, and more so the concept, of rental via mobile device was excellent. My experience was with a Vehicle located at an unmanned facility and was flawless. I look forward to future rental experiences.

Pickup location was littered with broken auto glass around vehicles and does need t feel safe. While I was trying to pick up vehicle I was approached by someone bumming money. Clean up the area. Make it clear that this is a 24/7 pickup location on web site that does not have an office. That confusion resulted in over an hour delay in my ability to pickup vehicle. The adjacent building has a large U-Haul sign on it, but the building is boarded up and looks to be condemned.

Upon returning the truck at 10pm, I found that there was no key drop box to return the keys. I walked around in the dark looking (it's not well lit AT ALL) and finally drove around the building. At first I tried the code box that I retrieved the key from but I couldn't get it to relock. This location does everything by phone instructions, no people are present to help, so I ended up calling UHaul's 1-800 number and the girl I spoke with also couldn't find record of where it should be and asked me if I could hide the key somewhere... I didn't want to be responsible for the van so that didn't thrill me. I was finally able to get the box to relock (if that's how they want to do it, there needs to be instructions because it's not easy) after 45 minutes of being out there alone. The van was nice and clean and worked great but the drop-off situation left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Absolutely terrible online system. Makes it extremely difficult to not only pick up a rental vehicle, but impossible to return. Your online system crashed twice, which was about 30 minutes of my time. Your phone associates are unfamiliar with your locations. Absolute nightmare of a rental from beginning to end.

I've been trying to get assistance since yesterday. I've called in several times. I was advised that someone would contact me today. As of now that has not happened. Last night we dropped the van back at the site. We were advised to leave the keys in the drop box. THERE IS NO DROP BOX! I called to get a code or assistance with this and was told that they couldn't do anything. That 3 other people had rented that day and had no issues. So fine, I went back today when it was light thinking ok maybe I missed it. No again THERE IS NO DROP BOX! I asked a worker there (painter or something) who said he didn't know try walking through the mall. I am not going on a wild goose hunt searching for something that's not there. This is crazy. I just want to drop the keys responsibly and where I don't get fined.
