Picking up a rental was longer than expected as no one was there to rent. When I needed it for an extra day that was a huge hassle. The rep Said I had returned the truck. The store wrote a truck number down but gave me a different truck to drive. When I returned it said stay in truck. After sitting in the truck for 5 minutes or more. We walked to the entrance to find two employees looking out the window and asking can I help you. Well clearly I need to return truck. They didn't inspect or do anything. My box was moved to a different location, no one told me until the day i was supposed to pick it up. I'm NOT paying the extra mileage for their dumb mistake. IF the app had worked, our experience would have been great. Unfortunately, I spent frustrating time trying to return truck using the app multiple times IF customer service had more people, wait time might be less than 50min. This is unacceptable. Otherwise. I dnt like to give negative reviews but I honestly think that it is rude for people to be on their personal phone. The person that help us was on her/his phone for about a minute or more. She/he was texting while she was checking us in. The day I return my rental I had to call customer service waited for 15min. When customer service answered the phone, explain the reason why I was calling she told me to hold on and transferred me and I had to wait for 2 hours on the line. Anyways the next day, I got a call from uvula in Montgomery and I was trying to explain that I return the truck 6pm and the person who called me was very rude and yell and said where is the keyâ€¦I told him where the key and box number and he jus hang up on meâ€¦So better customer service is what's needed at this locationMarife S.

They were supposed to open at 9:00 am and doors were still locked at 9:06 a.m. I was outside waiting along with several other customers. This delayed our day by 30 minutes.Tracy W.
Everything was great !! The pickup truck was easy to maneuver for hooking up the car hauler. The car hauler worked wonderful for the vehicle !! Nice, easy ride and towing. Will definitely use this equipment and rent from the Montgomery location in the future!!Debbie D.
After my storage unit got broken into . I reached out and was told give it sometime a month later no calls , or replies back . I was told by the manager someone came into my unit three times and that they did take things out of the unit totally over $600 .00 and no reply back or answers . When i contacted UHaul to access boxes after it was picked up, the system was messed up. Lady insisted on 24hrs notice to access whereas I was ready on that day itself. And even when she sets a time to access the boxes were shipped before that.sanoj K.

I reserved two trucks and several (like 10) dollies for two Saturdays in a row to move a school within the same town. I made the reservation 6 weeks in advance. When we arrived, only one truck was held for us. They said they tried to text us but they called an office phone that doesn't have texting capabilities. The other truck was 9 miles in the opposite direction. Also, they had 0 dollies and we reserved 10 on top of the ones that came in the truck for all the volunteers who were planning to help. When I made the reservation, I was told they "had plenty". The manager, Sandra, just kept saying it wasn't her fault and offered no solutions to help us resolve the problem. She just kept saying that corporate offers things they don't have in store. The second week, we got both trucks and again, no dollies, even though I called to confirm they "had plenty." I didn't give a poor rating because it seemed that Sandra was the only one working in a VERY busy location. She was checking people in, grabbing trucks as well as adding hitches to multiple cars. It also just might have been a bad day. Corporate needs to maybe have a better inventory on what each location has because it didn't seem to match. I was thankful to have a positive experience at the Bolingbrook location.Katherine S.

I asked,specifically, about the payment of tolls when I picked the equipment that dat. I was informed by the employee that they had no idea about the how the payment of tolls worked. The Illinois tollway site says that the transponder in the vehicle has to be specific to that vehicle or else I would taken my transponder on the move. So now I get a bill for the tolls with admin fees. I wish I would have told that information up front since, once again, I specifically asked about this very situation before the equipment was driven off of your property. Car rented had service lights on. Tire pressure on all tires were low, and needed to put air in all of them then need to put air 3 times within 36 hours so I didn't have a flat tire. Called the phone number and talked with a customer service rep and she took my information and keyed it into the computer and no one has contacted me to resolve the issue or refund me for the extensive amount of air I had to put into the van.Keith R.

Make sure they have the right place to pickup the vehicle in the computer. We had talked with Yorkville and Montgomery both. We thought we had to come to Montgomery and once there, we were told it was canceled. However the young man said not to worry and fixed us right up without delay. The person at the counter who helped me was helpful, funny and knowledgeable. First time here was able to be in and out with my rental in 10 minutes. Give the counter person who helped me a raise he went far and beyond to make sure I was good before driving off.samuel B.
There were factors beyond your control (like weather) that caused some delays in pickup, and the items were supposed to be shipped to Hoffman Estates, IL, but somehow were stored in Montgomery, IL instead. The wrong boxes were accidentally delivered (they were empty), but in the end everything worked out great. The pick up and delivery teams were all excellent and proficient in their work. No items were damaged in transport. We would consider using U-Haul U-Boxes again. Thank you for your help with our move!!!Barry ArmidaBec M.

I returned my van rental with more gas than I started off with and they charged me 43.99. I called the Montgomery IL location no answer. When I drop off the truck I was asked where I parked it I told them where I picked it up from the guy who was sitting down not the one that helped me said oh so you parked it in the wrong spot being rude. The guy who helped me was fine but did not tell me where to park the truck when I picked it up so I put it back where I picked it from. I felt that I was ripped off. I paid for 10 miles and it says I used 25 miles. I put In $6 of gas. When I called they said I uses 25 miles. I was charged an extra $56. When I asked to speak to a manager I waited over 20 minutes on hold and a manager never got on and the csr was cold and insensitive. I was treated unfairly. I have been a good and loyal customer. My first time having a storage unit & it was a terrible experience. First they put a $ as my street address… then not communicating with me on what would happen by this X date if I couldn't make a payment or fix my situation so I lost everything I know my social security # was in my unit & they're saying it belongs to whomever the auction buyer was like that's PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION in which I have to lock now due to this incident. Multiple times I came to load my jeep and the amount of debris and garage the cluttered the floor was ridiculous. 2 flat tires later I not only over paid for a unit but had to replace my tires because of your dirty facility. Within the first 30 days I chose to rent a unit the price went up 15 dollars a month.. way to rob people. Also every time I had to interact with the desk staff there wasn't a mask to be seen. When your trying to take things out of your storage or if your looking for something the lights dont stay on for a good period of time. I rented the unit for almost 3 years. Due to Covid-19, we lost an income. Although we made a few late payments, as food and utilities came first, payments were always made. A female made several calls to press us for a payment not made by the due date. She was disrespectful on the phone. Chris was somewhat helpful regarding late payments and penalties, we were still charged a "lean" charge. Every month was paid in full. As mortgage companies and landlords were required by the government to stop penalties for late payments and evictions haulted, U-haul should have taken notes out of that book.brian c. | Expérience générale

The contactless reservation and move in process was a breeze and smooth, definitely 5 stars for that. The facility was great and clean and the staff were very helpful. The only downside was the price as they were 10 % higher than competitors in the area. My only situation is the lack of wearing masks as required. There is even a notice on the door upon entering saying that masks are required upon entering. We wore ours why does some of the staff believe that they don't have to wear theirs.Laura L. | Premières impressions
