We had a flat tire and it took over three hours to get roadside assistance there after several technicians and several phone calls we had to track someone down. I would have hoped UHaul offered some sort of compensation or at least an extension of three hours of the rental but we didn't even get an apology.

Car W. | Premières impressionsThe reason I might not recommend this location is because it's a difficult intersection to get out of and you can only head one direction on the highway. Also, I was rented a truck with engine problems but was not advised of that. I couldn't get the ignition to turn over. I had to get en employee to start the truck and he said I had to press the break down and juggle the steering wheel. He started it for me and the engine light was in. But then when I got to my pickup location and turned off the truck, I couldn't get it restarted. I had to get one of the movers I had hired to help and she said she could do it bc she had worked for UHAUL before. But she said there was really something wrong with the ignition. By the end, when it was time for me to take my last load, it took her 10 minutes to start the truck. I couldn't fill it with gas because I couldn't turn off the engine. I called the store to tell them and they said, oh, yeah, they knew that about the truck. Well then why did they rent to me?!

Nonaral G.The control panels to gate to enter and exit the storage unit area are oddly situated to where the client has to exit the vehicle to enter the code. It would be a great convenience to the clients to have the ability to access the control panel directly from your vehicle. Although very secure, driving or walking underneath the unit entrance lift-gate is a bit unsettling to me. But overall, I had a seamless experience.
Jay H.The lack of customer service is atrocious! Especially the older lady in the office. Who rolls her eyes and doesn't even speak back but sucks her teeth at you. Coupled with the high incompetence level I am surprised y'all are still in business. From the moment I rented the unit there were mess up after mess up after mess up. Not once has anyone apologized or even tried to resolve or compensate me for the additional money I had to pay due to the staff's failure to complete tasks properly or even apply payments correctly. They either ignored me all together or told me not thier problem. I will never us U-Haul ever again.

She sternly asked, asked how may I help you? Sensing this, I said you are in the middle of closing aren't you? She sternly repeated her question again. I told her I had truck to return. I handed her the key and. There was no thank you, did you have any problems? Nothing. As I was walking out, the employee said, you'll get an email in 15 minutes. That was it. I did not expect her to praise me for renting a truck. I did not expect her to make conversation. I guess I just expected a thank you or at least have a safe trip back. The employee was flatlined, no sign of emotion. Not a good representation of your company (I hope). I will probably call another rental company the next time.

Then had to drive 25 minutes away to a different location (mountain brook, alabama) to get a truck that was smaller than the one reserved. This also then added more mileage we had to pay for driving this truck to our location and then back to the store, resulting in a higher price overall. Very frustrating situation.

Truck was 15 ft with 155,000+ miles. Had a inverted dent across the entire hood and amazing that it would be rented in such condition. Drove horribly with a lot of steering issues and did not feel safe. Thank goodness I only had to use it for 30 miles. I was so happy to return and get out it. I have used uhaul about 5 times over the past year and this experience was the worse.

Robert P.I purchased a climate controlled unit and upon viewing, I noticed the building was very warm. Upwards of 90 degrees. I specifically told the guy showing the unit, manager Eric Bailey, that I needed a unit that was climate controlled due to my products that would melt and spoil in warm weather. Eric assured me that the air conditioner had been fixed that day and the building would soon cool down. I took him at his word and purchased the unit. A few hours later I returned and the building was warmer than before. It actually was hotter in the building than it was outside and it was mid 80s outside. I called the 280 Uhaul office and spoke with a girl there and she informed me that the air conditioner had been broken for 2,5 weeks and still wasn't fixed but should be fixed by tomorrow (today, Saturday). This means that Eric wasn't forthright about the building air working and sold me a unit under false pretenses. He wasn't honest about the conditions of my unit and I had to spend the rest of my day moving my items that would melt and spoil from that storage unit to another one at a different facility. This took up time I needed to do other things and now, I'm going to have to take off work again next week to move everything from that unit. This is a major inconvenience for me. I paid for a climate controlled unit and that's not what I got and I am requesting a full refund. I called Uhaul customer care and informed them of this issue. I was told that they are doing what they can to handle and that someone would contact me next week.

Jazmin H.I need to say the location off hwy 280 in Birmingham Alabama, Tawantha...the employee was very rude. she got upset it seemed because I was late. then I asked if I could charge different card then what was used to rent a dolly. yes, It was ONE dolly and she said NO. She laughed sarcastically. I said why. She said only card given can be charged then... she put it thru even after I told her there was no money on it. she then said well you're just going to accrue charges n fees. I said what fees. Then I asked if she were mad..she said no. I told her yes she could take a different card... then she shut bck door and told me she wasnt talking anymore... what!!! So she called someone had them on speaker. asked if she could use different card and right off bat was told YES. I asked 3 times how much and no answer. so ill have to do card. on both cards. see any charged then see if I'm going to get charged fees etc...plus the negative bal. she mentioned I would get. I said Thank you when I turned to leave and she said NOTHING back. I hope u play video of this. I was VERY nice I said 0 wrong. stayed polite, and she was rude. hope ur camera has sound. my contract number was 86274743. Thank you April Curry

CHRISTOPHER C. | Premières impressionsI reserved the unit well in advance and wanted inside, first floor, however we ended up getting an outside unit that was very dirty with an area in the corner that clearly leaked water...we told the staff and took pictures before we moved in, but they said they didn't have another option. At that point, there was nothing we could do since we had to move out and had a truck full of our stuff!! Then, when we moved out of the storage unit, our belongings were visibly filthy and there were bugs in the unit and in our stuff. We were not surprised, since the area that was wet when we moved our stuff in was never repaired, and was open for bugs to get in. Also, horrible customer service! Whenever i call, it rings forever, like 20-30 minutes, and eventually goes to the central UHaul number, not the actual location! If we can't get an inside, first floor unit next spring, we will not be renting from you again! We rented the year before (summer 2020) and had no problems. Our unit was an inside unit and very clean, no bugs. We were super disappointed this year!
