JESUS CThe driver's side in the cab had a LOT of dried mud on the floorboard and the passenger side window was covered with a greasy black coating of what looked like asphalt spray so I had to clean both the cab and window before our 6 hr. ride. The back of the truck needed to be swept out before my furniture and boxes could be placed in it. I was actually surprised that the truck wasn't cleaned before being checked out to me, I've not ever rented a Uhaul vehicle that was dirty until this.

DAVID BU-haul has in place many checks and balances to make sure a customer gets the correct equipment yet the equipment I ordered was mis-given to another customer earlier in the day. U-haul did step up and finally fulfilled my order and I received the same texts to make sure the was the correct piece of equipment. Hopefully, this is a learning moment for this local shop.

GERARD MWe had zero issues with the actual truck, but everything from start to finish with the reservation was a nightmare. I had to call customer support to get my husband added as a driver because it wouldn't allow me on the app. When my husband went to pick up the truck the worker, although polite, was highly untrained. The guy gave us a truck on empty and said "It's on empty, sorry." He said he'd put a credit of $30 on our account, but the cost to fill the tank well exceeds that credit. The worker also never confirmed anything about the reservation, just told my husband to sign on a digital pad to accept the truck. Turns out the guy had changed our reservation without consent and never told us. Now our drop off location was now at another place than where I had confirmed earlier that day. In changing the location it also changed the amount of miles included in the reservation from 90 to 70, which was not enough. All those changes cost us an additional $125 + tax not including mileage fees. Due to the fact we were never informed about the change in the reservation l drop off, we went to the location I had selected. We then had to call two places just to find out we needed to wait close to 2 hours for another office to open to talk to a supervisor so I wouldn't be charged a fee for dropping off at the wrong location. The lady I spoke to last was very helpful and polite. She put in a refund request, changed location to another one in that same city, and added miles and time to the reservation so we wouldn't be charged and fees. I have yet to receive the refund, but I did get an email saying it had been accepted. For close to 10 years I have made the choice, regardless of who was cheaper, to use Uhaul for my moving needs but this past experience has changed my perspective and we will be shopping around next time. Moving is stressful enough, I don't need the added stress of extra costs and delays when simply renting a truck.

KHULAFA IThe check-in person and process were top level and very professional. Nice person. The person I returned the trailer to was rude and barely spoke. When I walked in, he was eating and did not even want to acknowledge my presence. After the trailer was disconnected, he barely spoke again and just said rudely that we would email you the receipt. Glad I took pictures of everything before I left just in case.
NEAL AEverything was great except the price, I lost my job and couldn't risk being locked out and away from my stuff. So I donated what stuff I couldn't fit in my car and took the rest. Thanks for keeping my belongings safe

Linda C | Expérience généraleMy 15' U-Haul smelled heavily like marijuana, and I found a pack of "cigarillo's" in the glove box. There was no key to the attached lock on the truck, I had to go buy a lock to be able to secure the truck while traveling. My reservation was until 7pm this day, when I realized I would need it longer, I called at 4:45 pm, and asked if I could have it for a few more hours, roughly 10-11 pm. The person answering the phone, said absolutely, I wouldn't need to pay anything extra, and just to turn it in and leave the keys in the box. I returned my rental at 10:40pm, and I was charged another full day rental. Even though I only had the truck for 3 extra hours in 1 day. Couldn't keep their word, and didn't even try to clean the truck.
RANDALL GAbsolutely will not use U-Haul again after being quoted less than $50 for my rental. I not only got hit with $50. I got hit with an additional almost hundred and when I asked about it supposedly there was an extra cleaning fee and all these other extra added fees and supposedly the site didn't give me the correct mileage when I told them will not be using U-Haul ever again and definitely will be sure to tell everybody about this because it's absolutely ridiculous to get hit with a massive amount of fees and not even be contacted about it for any type of dispute

DANNY CThe truck that we had reserved had mechanical issues which is completely understandable. But the fact that we were not notified and had to go to the location and then drive to another location almost 20 miles away to get the truck that we had reserved was frustrating. Our total mileage was 40 miles so understandably a good portion of those were because we were at the further location. It's frustrating that we had to spend so much extra time with our quick move because of the lack of communication.
HEATHER PI think this location should be checking the trucks fluently before letting someone use them. We got a moving truck for our move and it was delayed about 3 hours because we immediately started having problems with the truck only 5 minutes after we got it. The check engine light was on, the driver engine was making a bad rattling noise, it smelt like gas, truck wouldn't accelerate, and truck stopped working when we got to a red light. We had to get road side assistance to come look at the truck. We barely were able to get to the house we were moving into due to the office about to close and how much this all set us back. After roadside assistance came to look at the truck they told us the spark plug was bad and that it was dangerous that we even drove the truck. Overall this was my first and probably last time I will ever rent out a u-haul truck because this set our moving process back so bad. We were supposed to be finished moving around 4pm and didn't even finish until 8-9pm. I just strongly feel as though U-haul should be inspecting this trucks to make sure they're working properly before letting there customers use them especially since we were even told that is was dangerous for us to be driving the truck because of the issues it had.

We had to change because what we were storing would not fit because of the pillar. 2: If a client comes to load or unload, please please please add a sign to move your vehicle afterward. We waited a long time for a space to unload because a young man came and retrieved his motorcycle, left his car in a prime unloading spot and took off for hours. From what we heard from another mover, he took off at 6 am and when we left at 4 pm, he was not back. This causes a lot of grief for someone needing that space. I wanted to have him towed, he was just being rude. A large yellow and black sign saying these spots are for loading and unloading - not parking, would take care of this. I still think he should have been towed.

The entire floor still smells like mildew. The cost of my storage continues to increase while storing despite this incident. It would be nice to inform customers they should get renters insurance if damage occurs due to the facility

I think if you're reserving for same-day move in, then the checkout experience should change to pick up the lock when you arrive at the place.

Asked if the gentlemen could show me how to perform the enter and exit procedures, he responded as if he didn't want to. His body language screamed figure it out on your own. As if that wasn't enough, when I asked if he could help me locate the storage unit or perhaps give a tour he simply responded "they don't pay me enough for tours" and proceeded to point to the map and walked off. Poor customer service.

Called customer service and was inside the office. During my 90min interaction with both, no one thought to mention that if I switched, I'd loose the $125 I already paid. No one mentioned it until they had cancelled the first unit and set up the 2nd. Absolute waste of time, effort and energy. I don't understand why no one would have said something at the beginning. Obviously we didn't upgrade because who has $125 to just throw away

They were so helpful and explained how everything worked, the alarms, how to access the storage unit and the hours. I was originally supposed to turn my truck in at another U-Haul place and they were kind enough to make arrangements for me to turn it in there. The facility was extremely clean. My unit was on the second floor. I was impressed that they had carts for use to assist in moving all of my household goods. Usually moving can be a hassle, however the staff at this U-Haul storage facility made it a breeze and hassle-free.

This visit our reserved room was 1/3 way full with the previous owners items. I was told the lock I purchased would be in the unit. If the lock had been in the unit they would have known it wasn't empty. This is totally unacceptable.

They did however rectify that for me. The other issue is that the rollup doors weren't working so when I had to unload in the rain, I could not back all the way up and in to the unloading area. This definitely needs to be remedied.

I went to front desk told them they came seen what was talking about cleaned up but didn't do any good. We were still sliding in the back trying to put our belongings in there and at one point I had fell and thankfully had bar in there to grab!! They shouldn't clean with that mess!

The mechanically controlled roll up doors in the loading bay areas were not working, which meant the truck couldn't be backed in fully and the contents got wet in the rain. Additionally, having a cement pillar in a 5x10 unit makes it substantially more difficult to store large items.

I was given two different units in which a 10 x 10 was advertised, yet there was a large pillar protruding through this so the space is very reduced. I finally was given a third and final storage unit that was a full unit, but your staff should have a better idea as to which is used and reduced. Also, I recommend a price reduction on those units as you are not getting space paid for.

She had an attitude the entire time, walked off with an attitude and everything, which I feel you shouldn't have that kind of attitude period specially dealing with people who are already going through a overwhelming time of moving and relocating the last thing they need is a bad attitude customer rep. The others however were super nice and helped me out a ton, I believe he was a manager I decided to talk to him about exactly what I needed because the previous rep was soooo rude I no longer wanted to deal with her. And he helped me out and it was super easy and quick.

I had a specific unit which they said I could reserve on the first floor (did this about a week or so ahead of the actual time needed for move-in). When I went to pay for and secure the unit...they had rented it and said they could not actually hold or "reserve" a specific unit location or type requested. In the end I got a good unit, just on the third floor.

The security card I was given did not work, it set off the alarm for the entire building. I sat there for 10 minutes with the building alarm screaming aloud and could not get ahold of anyone to help me. I left with my stuff and never even got to move in.

Very inconvenient if you are carrying heavy items. We had to try to go to the facility during off times so it wasn't as busy. The layout was not planned correctly. The original employee who signed me up made some mistakes. Spelled my name wrong, didn't set up auto draft correctly, and had me down for the wrong storage number. The employees who corrected it were nice and helpful but the initial employee was not a good experience.

Multiple bedding items (stores in containers) had to be thrown away due to mold. When I rented the unit I did not think mold would be an issue, but come to find it did. If I did it all over again, I would want to be briefed that mold is a potential issue so that I could plan more accordingly.
