after making online reservation, was called twice by location to confirm appointment. and then the day before appointment, was called by location saying that I missed my appointment, which was not true. After that was told by location that there are 3 other people given the same 8am appointment slot, and asked me to reschedule. I told him that I have appointment in writing and will be coming next morning. When I showed up there was no other customer there and the hitch install when well. I don't know what is going on with these people but it is not a solid experience.Andrew H.

I made a reservation for a vehicle pick-up to closer to my home address. I in fact received a confirmation email indicating it would be ready for me at that location. On pick-up day, I was called and told the pick-up location had been changed to that on Paramount Blvd. That added about 26 miles of trip just to get back to my origin. Because of that, I went over the trip limit. Yes, the Paramount location is fine and well staffed, but I still wish I had been told on-line that the location would have to changed on account that this was a one-way trip.Oliver P.

THe only complaint I have is that when attempting to extend my rental for an additional day, I was told I had accepted the damage waiver insurance in which I specifically verbalized that I was declining coverage. John, at the original location I had booked my truck at located on Imperial Hywy. in Norwalk was exceptional! He personally called me to inform me there had been an issue with my rental. The truck they were expecting to be returned (which I was going to rent) did not return. He along with Uhual located a similar truck at the location in Long Beach. He was extremely apologetic and offered his further assistance if I needed anything. I understand these things happen just like I understand he didn't have to provide such a high level professionalism and customer service. I get the sense this is how he runs his operation. This is why the location on Imperial Hywy will be my 1st option whenever I need to rent a vehicle. Please pass this along to John. Thank you - DanielDaniel V.

Take customers at their word. We were charged 30 $. extra for gas . We only had the truck for just over an hour (possibly and hour and a half) traveled 12 miles, and used less than a quarter of gas. We told the representative but was told, "unless there's proof of the mileage ,we have to charge the extra fee". It would be a "win-win" for you and the customer if they were taken at their word. The customer would feel trusted, and they would definitely tell there friends and family to visit your facility because you treat the customer's right.LINDA S.

Your phone call system needs to have a "call back" option. I probably spent a total of 8 hours on hold during the whole experience. Additionally, when I would leave messages with people that couldn't directly help me with my requests, but were optimistic of someone else getting back to me, I never received follow up. My conclusion was that the communication on U-Haul's side of things between scopes of work needs improvement. It caused for a frustrating experience when trying to get in touch with the correct individuals.Michael H.

The person who was at the check in register, didn't greet us, didn't look friendly or happy to be at her job. Didn't welcome us , just said: You here for pick up? It was 7:30 am, no one else inside, so she wasn't overwhelmed. Not sure what the issue was, but her eyebrows were furrowed the entire time. Also, the truck we rented stunk like cigarettes. Even though I was told I could access my box up to a certain date after it was picked up, I was unable even to talk with a representative either at your national call center, or the local facility to arrange that. I was on hold for way too long multiple times and had to finally give up. Otherwise, the service was great, the local load company was great, and delivery/pick up was right on schedule.
