the customer service is too poor, the staff is very aggressive, rude, they have no patience, they prefer to be on the cell phone and the client waits until they finish texting and talking with their same colleagues about their personal things and with a bad attitude they do not give them any information on how to receive and return the truck very, very bad attention with a lot of arroganceerica B.

During the drop off process I followed the instructions from the app. As I was going to drop off the key an employee told me to give him the key to the truck. This is conflicting with the instructions I received on the app. If the key is misplaced I'm going to be held responsible for it and the employee has deniability that he ever got the key. The employee also told me to move the truck from where I had parked it which is where the pictures show on the app of the location of the vehicle. The conflict and instructions is contradictory and confusing.Danny S.

Picked up the 15' truck from U-haul on Broadway in Newark NJ in the afternoon on 8/26/22 and drove it home to Kearny and parked it in the driveway. Saturday morning family and friends came to help us load the truck up and head out for our 3 hour drive, 6 hours for the families round-trip back home. We were all ready to go and the truck wouldn't start the BATTERY was DEAD!! I called the u-haul location on Broadway in Newark and was told I had to call roadside assistance after about 45 minutes of holding and waiting for a call back the roadside wanted us to take pics of lights on dashboa4d and got to a website blah blah blah. The battery was dead so we had to purchase a jumper box costing 85 dollars from Autozone so that we could jump the battery and get on the road. My husband stopped for gas and the battery wad DEAD again and the charger box needed charged so my husband had to call his buddy who drove from Newark to Paramus to give my husband a Jumpstart. My husband didn't get to our new home until almost 8pm at night which meant by the time everything was unloaded our family that helped us didn't get home until after 1am Sunday morning. The battery needed charged the next morning so that we could drop it off at Suds and Duds route 52 in liberty NY. So the Broadway location sent us out in a truck with an obvious dead battery which means the poor U-haul location in liberty NY has to deal with it. Fir shame on whomever passed that truck to be rented.Arlindo T.

They wouldn't give me my reservation because I was an hour past the pick up time. I received an email that said my reservation was changed to truck share online and told to check in with the app or online. Neither worked and I couldn't start my pickup. I called but the location was busy and kept getting the call center. Uhaul really needs to make an app or online portal that works and is not down. Even when I went to the other location for a truck, nothing was working and it took half hour to get a truck and go.Scott W.

I wish they explained that there was an extra fee for not returning the key to the desk. I was very surprised to find there was an extra fee for dropping the key in the drop off considering you are not open 24hrs. I have to pay extra because you are not open doesn't seem fair to me and will consider my options more carefully in the future.Annemarie C.

It's convenient but the customer service person was just OK. It would be great if the team members can help a bit more with the truck specifics (lights, mirrors, adjustments etc.) as not everyone renting the truck will know how to use them or where to find them even. What a horrible wait time and management. I vê been receiving phone calls and voicemails even though I check out this storage on the last month that was giving to me as courtesy. The young lady at the front desk told me that all I needed was to return my card and nothing else that it will be close that same day. Apparently she is mistaken or just didn't care being that she was busy! I'm going through a lot at this time in my life reason why I choose not answer! The facility always appeared short staff and there was always a line. Never felt like the employees knew how to answer questions properly and always had to reach out to the manager. Also, didn't appreciate that mid way through my rental the price was increased from what I was originally told and this was an inconvenience considering there was no forewarning. I had a Ubox rental with this location. The same day I packed my unit, I noticed the unit was damaged. (The front panel was missing screws leaving my items exposed.) I immediately brought it to their attention and was told that my unit would be repaired. Three (3) days later I called to try and have my Ubox shipped to me and there was no record of them housing my things. My unit was shown to have been not only empty but ready for the next customer's use. Only to find out the location had my name filed with the wrong reservation number. After no avail with customer service (because the location never answered the phone nor returned my calls) I had to physically return to the location to resolve the issues. After ONLY 10 DAYS of using their less than adequate services, I was forced to remove all of my items from this facility. The Ubox was NOT repaired and without explanation or resolve from the facilities discrepancies I had to take my business elsewhere. After all the hassle I was still charged full price for a service I couldn't even use due to mishaps on this locations behalf and no fault of my own. Well it's currently 230am and I need to get into my unit and the woman at the front desk didn't add the 24hour access into my account so now I'm our here in the cold and can't get in!
