The employees had extremely poor communication about where the container was - it was not at the location I booked - and continued to try to charge me for the container after it was emptied. Very rude employees as well and unjustified behavior. I had to cancel my card just because of this reason.

Great service & easy rental experience. No long forms asking crazy questions plus the fact that anyone could drive the truck as long as it’s not a thief and you don’t have to give any information on co-driver. Friends who’ve never rented before will now rent from your company. Also, the counter representative was extremely pleasant. Give her a raise!!!!

This move has been a disaster since the ubox arrived in CA. It was a comedy of errors with ubox and uhaul. You should be ashamed of the poor quality of customer service. No one knew where our ubox was. We spent 3 hours on the phone speaking with traffic managers in Hayward and Oakland and no one knew what was going on. In addition to this, when originally shipping the ubox, we asked for it to be delivered to an address in Berkeley, CA. the UBox rep said it was not possible, but to hire moving help to get it from the storage location in Oakland to the apt. This was done, but the website didn't allow the option to select a mover that could rent a trailer and move the box to the apartment THEN unload it. We had this option at the starting point of the order (in New York), so it is puzzling why this option was not available on the delivery end. When we discovered the error, the uhaul person said "we can just deliver the ubox directly to your home on July 9." This was a complete surprise because Ubox said that delivery to a home address was not possible. (again -- no one seems to know what's going on.) So then when we decided we needed our items earlier, we rented a truck at the oakland location with the help of the uhaul rep on the phone. She told us our box was in Oakland, so she rented the truck for us in Oakland and she "cancelled" the July 9 delivery. On friday morning July 5 at 10:30 am, I received a phone call confirming the delivery on July 9 from Hayward to Berkeley. I told the woman that this was cancelled and that we are getting the box from Oakland today instead. I specifically even asked her to confirm that the box was in oakland, because she said it was in Hayward.. She hesitated for a minute and said, Oh, yes -- you are right, the ubox is in Oakland. So, when we show up in Oakland to get the truck and unload the ubox, we are informed that we need to drive an additional 15 miles further away in horrible traffic to get to the ubox. Then, the moving help.com people we hired to do the load/unload didn't show up. All in all -- this was a horrible experience. As noted above, it took 3 hours on the phone to try to figure out where the box was, and 4 different calls. 3 of the customer service people heard out our story, but then hung up on us when they found it to be too complicated to deal with. We finally reached Emerald, who was a complete gem and kept me on the line while she called the Oakland and Hayward traffic managers to figure out what happened and file customer service claims.

Eric was super helpful - especially after he heard it took me 30 minutes to back up a trailer attached to a pickup truck! When I came in to exchange the trailer for a larger one, he happened to have a large moving truck and traded it for the pickup and trailer. So much easier to drive!

I received the wrong rental , only realizing after loading. I couldn’t tell a 20 vs 26, but after my husband looked at it it was a 20. I voiced my concerns to the rep upon returning the car and they did nothing besides asking me to complete a survey. This is very unprofessional and costed me additional money to do two rounds of delivery instead of one.

The young lady who was behind the counter could see we were waiting in line for approximately 15 to 20 min. We were the only customers in line at 2:30 on Friday June 7th. She was counting change and couldn't be bothered helping us. There probably about 5 u haul employees in the office and no one could help. We own a retail store front and this would be terrible if this happened in our store! First off you would say " hello" and you would say "excuse me I will be right with you" finally a gentleman came and said I am so sorry can I help you. Thank goodness for him especially since we were on a time crunch. We also had a reservation as well. I don't know what happened to customer service especially if you were not busy! This is something that should be addressed.

This location was an absolute nightmare to deal with! Totally unorganized, kept giving away reserved equipment and all but one employee had a major attitude. Will NEVER be back, and will most likely use another rental service. UHAUL, this store needs to be addressed. Every customer in the store in the hour I was there was completely unhappy with service. Also, reservations (including equipment) that have been confirmed should be honored. This was by far the worst UHUAL I've ever been to.

Only difficulty is that this is not a good location for swapping out rental truck and leaving my car there......there is "space", but such a sketchy neighborhood and no overnight security, etc. That would be "nice", but overall things are very positive there. I have rented from that location several times in past year and things get more streamlined every time. ( I recall my difficulties finding it, figuring out to use their system the first two times. ) People who work there have it down to a science.

Do not charge them twice I am currently going through it because U-Haul charged me $87 for the service this Saturday and this morning Wednesday the 29th you guys charged me an additional $72 dollars it us unacceptable and I am lucky my bank waived my overdraft fee! This is terrible on the billing entity of the company that makes it a terrible experience but great customer service. Please answer the phones I stayed on hold for 20 minutes at 6AM PST un-acceptable!

The truck: it’s cab and rear both appeared stained and smelled of human discharge (the back of the truck particularly of fecal matter). I don’t believe anyone checked, cleaned or disinfected the truck prior to renting it out. And while the Agents were courteous/professional enough to extend a partial refund, I had to leave my items outside for an hour prior to moving them inside. There could have been more damage (what if I were moving children’s items incl toys or furniture?). I have never had such a poor experience at U-Haul after years of moving with you. Please consider.

When I returned the truck, I was told I owed $68 in gasoline charges for driving 16 miles. After having to speak to several people, a computer error was uncovered. This made a difficult day even more difficult and i seriously think twice about ever renting a truck from you again.

Uhaul highly encourages you to buy the extra insurance coverage. We decided it would be a good idea for us to get it because we were driving from WA state to CA. Once we arrived to CA we stayed in a nice hotel. We parked our Uhaul with attach Uhaul trailer where there was plenty of light shining on it as well as being parked right in front of he surveillance cameras. The Uhaul and trailer was stolen from the hotel in bright daylight and the extra insurance we thought had everything we owned in it was not covered by the insurance because it supposedly doesn't cover robbery or theft. We were never told this when we rented the Uhaul's nor did the person helping us mention anything else about the insurance coverage or where we could read about the insurance coverage. Not that it would have mattered to the thieves that stole it but we had over $30,000 of property in it. We now have nothing at all. Uhaul needs to better train their employees about the insurance because we were never told about it nor wher to read about it.

I walked 1.5 miles (25 minutes) to reach the location of the reserved truck in Alameda, CA. I arrived to find out you overbooked the trucks at this location and you sent me to Oakland to pick up. I walked 25 minutes back to get a vehicle to use so I could get to the Oakland office. I paid movers for 1.5 hours of unproductive time, hundreds of dollars lost. I demand a discount or full refund of my truck rental. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the Oakland location did a great job once I arrived there.

First of all they transferred my order 10 minutes before pick up. The store was 6 miles away, thus adding 12 miles to my overall trip. I returned the vehicle early in the morning while the store was closed. I received my bill and noticed that I was charged for two days when I barely had the truck for 12 hours. I had to call the store twice to get them to refund me for the day. I eventually got the refund but this is all part of a bigger problem. I use your service once a week. Not a month goes by that I don't have to talk to your customer service or send one of these letters or emails. Your customer service department does it's best to fix these problems. But they keep occurring. And the more recent false charges are starting to worry me.

The storage facility desperately needs to add more carts for people to use when loading/unloading into storage units!! The facility is very large, and carts are totally necessary. Biggest problem: the alarm system, going off constantly due to a design flaw — so no one pays attention to it. Thieves cut through wire mesh above lockers. Our truck lock got picked in lot overnight.
