OGNIAN K.Incorrect pick up address was provided on the Uhaul website for my reservation. Incorrect address was texted to me. Those discrepancies cost me two hours the morning of my move and stressed me out. Returning the vehicle was also a pain. The address provided was not to a Uhaul location but rather to Adamsons tires. Which is in a well hidden lot that you have to take an access road to. However GPS takes you to some storage lot. The storage lot at least had a sign on the door saying they're not UHaul. There where ZERO UHaul logos or trucks visible at the entrance of Adamsons Tires so I had to call them to verify. The whole return experience took 30 more minutes than it should have.

For this, I removed one star.

The tire service was fast to respond and complete both tire replacements.q

Tons of issues including incorrect office hours, storage units being very far from where the U-Haul truck can park, mechanical issues with the gate, mechanical issues with the truck, reserved equipment not being available, and the staff accidentally putting a lock on our unit. None of these issues (besides the difficult physical distance between the unit and truck parking) would have been that big of deal, except this place is seriously understaffed to the point where every little question meant waiting in line for at least 20 minutes. Nothing against the workers, but this place is horribly managed. Would definitely not use again.

KHALID S.I am very frustrated with this location. I talked to them twice and confirmed the fact that I wanted to pay with the credit card that was on file with them. I had a college intern picking up the van for a mission trip in the area. But when my intern got there they made him pay with his own card. He's just a poor college kid. Frustrated that all my conversations ahead of time and assurances that there were "notes on the account so there would be no issues" were for nothing.

Robert D.I have rented from Uhaul every month for the last 10 months. My hope is you are able to see I'm a regular client, not once every three years or ten years but every month. I'm considering going back to Enterprise Truck Rental in San Leandro.. Why would your manager on 8000 San Leandro St, Oakland Ca. tell a customer (myself) that was paying for an additional 5 days that If I did not return the truck by Saturday (One week from original rental date) It would be reported stolen to Oakland Police Department. Every two days I was paying for the rental from my cc on file. Threatening a customer with arrest ? Weird.

Also wasted $20 on Uber and got charged an extra $60 for an extra day when my original pick up day was moved and drop off day just for the convenience of uhaul and the inconvenience for me. I absolutely hate uhaul and will never recommended it to anybody.

DeJuana P.Ensure that the rental (in my case a closed trailer) is available at the location I requested. I had to drive 2 hours (80 miles) out of my way to pick up the trailer. With today's gas and bridge tolls, this came to nearly $50 unexpected expense.

Tommie A.My unit was very far and there was a huge support boulder in the middle taking up much of the space. I called for assistance using the uhaul assistance buttons located throughout the storage, however no one answered. This posed a safety concern to me. Also, online told me I have access until 10pm however the day of my love in I came at 7pm and was told I did not have access. The online process was very tiring. The next day I came back and spoke with the staff in the main office and they were very accommodating. They assisted me in getting a new unit. Gave me a lock. We're very kind and assisted me in locating the unit. They apologized for the call buttons not working and stated they'd make a note. They were able to save my very negative first experiences.

After the flood, the storage contents were "thrown" into storage boxes and sent to the Hayward facility. When I went to see the contents, they were so mixed up that I couldn't get to them. They tried to triple the price! I am "not" moving out. U-haul moved the contents to Hayward where it will remain until the original owner returns. I am satisfied with the personell that they have at that facility..they are very accommodating.

I ended up having to take a unit half the size I needed/wasn't able to access my belongings as needed due to website being incorrect. I was told I would be contacted regarding this matter since I created a case with customer service but was never contacted. I advised the office and was told I had to store for at least six months to have later access hours. So honoring the access hours from the website was possible just didn't want too.

The representative never offered a refund or a solution when I brought it to my attention. Instead I was told maybe uhaul raised the prices and haven't sent new signage. That is U-Hauls problem to make sure the prices are correct and signage is in place, NOT THE CUSTOMER. Which means that U-Haul is STEALING money from their customers! That change adds up and is done in a non suspecting way.

MICHAEL M. | Premières impressionsWhen buying the storage unit I was told to get a lock because its needed with the unit; on U-Haul website it said id get the lock for free. When I realized I was being charged for it I showed the cashier and he basically shrugged it off saying "oh yeah I wasn't aware of that, looks like you do get it for free" turn proceeded to charge me. When I was getting the truck the guy asked my how many miles am I driving, how would I know? That should be fine at the end when I return the van not at the beginning. So I just said 10. then it got marked up with 5,5 gallons of gas then it actually had. Because I didn't check on the lot I was responsible for the gas so I had to fill up $26 of gas for a 4 mile round trip. When I returned the van and saw I only drove 4 miles I realized I paid a total of $20 for the van $40 for rental fees $26 for gas $15 for 10 miles. The world's most expensive 4 mile trip. They wouldn't reimburse me for the extra gas I paid. When I finally got to my storage unit I found a mouse trap inside.. that along with another customer at the front desk talking about how his unit flooded does not give me confidence in this place at all. The only positive experience about this whole ordeal is when I went to return the lock the lady was unable to return it for some reason so she just gave me it's cost out of her own pocket.

That's 33 %. When I contacted them, they were so "whatever" about it. A price increase is expected but 33 % is a bit much. Honestly, just be reasonable about increases. I would have stay otherwise.

Tatia S. | Expérience généraleWhile I appreciate the 1 month free trial with my one-way truck rental, getting access to my storage was a bit of a hassle. There was only one customer representative at the front desk when I arrived and even though she was friendly and helpful once it was my turn, the person who helped show me to my unit afterward didn't explain to me the storage layout or building access outside of using my key card. I had to go back to the front desk to find out there was not a loading dock for my items and that the uhaul truck wasn't actually allowed into the storage unit. There was only one hand truck available for use and the driveway for moving items in and out of the storage unit was heavily trafficked with moving cars. The whole process was very stressful and makes me unsure about renting from the storage facility in the future, at least at this particular location.

When I got to Oakland to drop off truck and move into the facility I was told my reservation was not there. I had an email proof of my reservation which was not honored. I had to pay more for a unit which was not expected. I waited for over 2 hours for clarity which I never received as the manager was driving around in the golf cart dismissing my concerns. I was told to call corporate which I did. I have submitted the proof of reservation and have yet to hear back from anyone.
