The employees there were extremely helpful and friendly. The app was not helpful. I tried to check in with the app and get my truck, but had to wait until the store opened so I could pick it up since it was saying I already had the truck. On my way back to drop it off, I had to contact customer service to return it because the app again was not working.

Check in was great. But the return…I understand it was 6:55pm and they closed at 7pm on Saturday, but the door was already locked the employee then closed the bay door as I was walking that way. Again, I get it, the day was ending but that was crap. I'd like to use other words to describe how I felt, but I won't. I ended up returning via the app, but again, that's not the point.

The van smelled horribly of cigar and cigarette smoke. Also it is in great need of a tune-up. When I accelerated to get onto the highway the van was knocking horribly and would not accelerate. Price of 1999 per day not accurate. After putting $10 worth of gas in the van upon return my bill came to almost $100. I only drove from Orange to Bridgeport and back. I don't know how it came to that much money.

CHARGED ME $15 FOR 6 MILES ON THE TRUCK AFTER I PUT A GALLON IN BEFORE RETURNING IT. THEN WOUND UP ON PERMANENT HOLD WAITING FOR THIS TO BE RESOLVED. FEMALE ON PHONE FIRST TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THESE ARE BIG TRUCKS, WE HAD A 15 FOOTER, LOL. THEN I LEFT IT IDLING TOO LONG, NO WE DID NOT. SHAME ON U-HAUL FOR HORRIBLE CUTOMER SERVICE.

My experience was very unpleasant, I had made reservations to have a hand truck or "Utility Dolly" made available with the equipment rental that I had an appointment to pick up and the customer service representative said that there were none available to my disbelief . So, I had to wind up spending $65 unexpectedly for a hand truck that I now own for the move that I made. This U-Haul of Orange CT rental facility appeared to be shady and very unprofessional regarding customer service.The only thing positive and convenient was the cleanliness of the truck I rented .

When I showed up there were no workers around. waited about 5 minutes and walked around until I bumped into an employee. Then my proces went up and when I dropped it off uhaul is tryong to charge me even more for no reason. I wish someone would have called me in the last 24hrs to discuss.

I was given a truck that didn't have gas in it. Less than a quarter of a tank. The first thing I had to do was put gas in the truck or I would have run out on the side of the road. I put 20$ of gas in it and got a 7$ credit

The staff at the Orange CT store are absolutely USELESS. Upon return the website and app were not working and they were of no help. Shahim, one of the employers, should be better trained in customer service. He was rude and dismissive. Absolute disgrace.

Well, the young man that served us named Sebastian was the most inept uninformed on train person that we could have come across in any professional setting! What would have taken with a professionally trained employee to cuss over an hour he did not know the program he was working with. He was making a statements and then denied it and overall he did not know much about the program he was working. I would entirely try to avoid ever stepping in that office.!

There was Noone in the office when I arrived. Waited almost 10 mins for assistance the kid who checked me in wasn't very friendly, I also bought a few boxes and he didn't really explain where I could grab them from. When I returned the truck there was a white kid sitting behind the desk he seemed to have an attitude. He was very unfriendly

My truck was not ready when I arrived. I elected for the "truck share 24/7" option which said I could pick up the truck one hour early. I arrived twenty minutes early and when I went to complete the online pick up it said "equipment unavailable. Contact customer service." When I called customer service they offered a different pickup location or $50 credit. I elected for the $50 credit. When I checked out at the counter, the person said they don't do credits. As I was driving down the road, the "low tire pressure" light came on. At this point, I'm curious to see if another rental company can do better.

This was the worse experience I've had to date. It was already a horrible time having to store my stuff due to separation, but i booked the storage online for an inside unit, upon arrival I was informed that there were no units available. There were only outside units, my movers were there was was costing me $269 an hour so I had no choice as it was late already . The outside unit when we arrived up the hill was wet inside. I was so disappointed and sad I couldn't help but cry as it was already an emotional day. The worker was very nice and tried to accommodate me as much as he could but I will no longer use uhaul storage because apparently this is common practice for them in Orange.

When I was checking out just after closing I put my card key in the drop box and didnt even look at the instructions until the door closed. A very helpful young man was coming out and I mentioned it to home and he went back in and found my card for me and also said he would let the manager know I was checking out. I had a vmail before I got home from the site letting me know they received my message! I also got a confirmation email the next day. Wonderful experience!!!

While service staff were great, and the check in process was smooth, checking out was a nightmare. A good amount of our personal belongings ranging from furniture, home decor, clothes, footwear etc. were damaged due to what may have been a water leak of some sort due to lack of security of the storage unit. We had a very unpleasant time trying to figure out what had happened, figuring out how to report it, and having to move with soggy boxes and damaged goods into our new apartment. This was our first time utilizing a storage unit and I would not recommend this to anyone or do it again myself. One of my footwear had gotten so wet and damaged there was a ton of mold growing on it! A public health hazard and a mover's nightmare to have to deal with. I was smart enough to have paid for insurance, but with the lack of responsiveness from RepWest and their odd contracting language on what they cover and don't, I am left as a disappointed customer on all fronts. If UHaul won't provide safe, secure units that will protect customers' personal belongings, at least have a well-intentioned insurance available for customers to purchase.

Online reservation was ignored and then forced to pay for a storage unit with the ceiling was falling in very disappointed with the customer service. To this day your employee referencing (manager at the orange, Ct facility turned my experience into a nightmare she attempted to go into my account without authorization after it was explained to your corporate office which is documented, that I had checked out before next due date and my note to uhaul would be you could do better and not what i consider to be thuggish activity by this person not to mention her poor customer service relations but as I mentioned initially illegally attempting to nurgalize my account, thus culminating in a very negative experience. I was happy to get a very large storage unit. And they accommodated me with a truck for a period of at least 6 days because I have to move out of my home by December 29th and I will be moving most of the items by myself. I am a 64 year old grandmother.

The 190 Boston Post Rd center in Orange, CT has very rude employees. The first day I went in to put my stuff in storage should've been when I canceled the reservation all together. I had reserved the biggest storage unit, put a down payment on it online & then they said they only had small ones left.. Then the guy BEHIND me went up to the counter asking for a large one and they miraculously had a large one available for him. So my husband had gotten into an argument with one of the staff members who had threatened him "he's not the one to play with".. The staff is rude, unprofessional, immature and definitely not customer friendly. Also, they are not accommodating at all. I got a letter to pay a certain amount by a certain date, when I went to go pay it, they told me I had to pay a completely different amount.. Of course MORE than I expected.. Specifically, $250 more than what I expected to have to pay. I talked to someone from customer service, they gave me different information than the employees that actually work IN the orange location.. and when I told the workers what customer service said and had wrote a note in my account as well, they wouldn't accommodate that. Seems like *most* of the employees there should be sitting behind a desk, not dealing with customers hands on because they're incapable of doing so politely and professionally. Definitely wouldn't recommend giving your money to this location, they don't value their word at all.

The only problem was the lighting. There is no light inside the storage room and the one in the hallways switches off after some time of no motion in the hallways. Often, I found myself in my storage room in the dark only with my cellphone light. That needs to change.

When trucks are used everyone should bring the gas level where it need to be however there would be no need to dispute anything

I reserved a storage unit days before arriving to this location. On the day of my arrival I was given a notice telling me my reservation was cancelled. Luckily there was one unit available but had there not been this would have been extremely inconvenient. I was told reservations were not accepted here AFTER being cancelled on, but why then did they allow me to place a reservation? This is a terrible way to conduct business.

Should be a staff member or members to actually locate units instead of just handing customer a map. Also units should be checked when a customer moves out same day. The one that was provided to me still had items inside and two locks on it, one had to be cut off.

the start of the Truck Rental- Sucked; no key in Wallingford Drop Boxes- 9" of Snow plowed (wind Row) in front of Truck truck not cleaned off! Did Change Difference in Mileage From Wallingford to Meriden/West Haven To Orange...Call Center- 3 Time Calling- until I got worth while help! From there on No Issues... Thank You Dave for the Extra Walk Thru- Greatly Appreciated

I had mice eat most of my times I had in my dresser all my drawers had mice feces all over some of my clothes were ruined. I had to wash everything I had in that storage.

Just would have liked for the hours of the storage to be a little later instead of 7pm on weekdays, should make it for 9p… for people who work and need to grab something from storage. And on weekends til 8p.

When i rented the space they gave me the wrong cubicle #2324 AN UPPER LEVEL THE CORRECT # WAS 1414 SO I LEFT MY STUFF IN THE AISLE UNTIL THE MORNING WHERE I STRAIGHTENED OUT THE CORRECT ROOM # SO I COULD LOAD MY STUFF IN A GROUND LEVEL CUBICLE

I was trying to move my things from the U-Haul in Connecticut to the U-Haul in North Carolina and I ended up needing one extra day to exit the U-Haul in Connecticut and they had no way to work with me on that I tried to get a prorated rate. they wanted the full month and nothing else when I asked if I could just get until 10pm on my last day to have things out they said no I would be locked out of the unit at 7 PM that was not the case when I moved in there. I was for sure loading things at 10 pm. I could not understand if I would've been late on my payment I would not be locked out, but because I was requesting an extra day that I was willing to pay for they could not work with me. Well I'm back in NC and decided not to use uhaul and will not use them again for trucks either.

I want to thank Fred and Uhaul for standing behind me through this difficult situation. When mice decided to move in my storage unit I lost about 3/4 of my things. Everyone else tried to tell me Uhaul probably wouldn't compensate me. But I carried faith with me. Uhaul is one company that still values customer service in a day where it is hard to find. It wasn't easy for me to lose my high school year book or my children's' sentimental belongings but I was respected and felt valued. Thank you again Fred and Uhaul for doing what's right! Godspeed

The young lady ( black woman)that works in your facility has a bad attitude, does not know how to treat customers, my 2 encounters with this person was the worst, get better help, was not in uniform, everyone else was, had on a sweatsuit not cute
