The outside gentleman was AMAZING! He was running around the lot by himself. Cleaning trucks. Hitching trailers. I wish the inside was just as good. 3-4 inside employees and only one register was active. The online check in process is kind of moot. I upload all my information online and still have to wait 30 minutes in line to swipe my credit card. Online should have a kiosk. Scan a QR, prints out the trailer for you to use, give it the man outside and be on your way. Waiting 30 minutes for something that takes 30 seconds is really dumb. U-Haul is always so busy that they need more automation. I've never had issues with the outside people. It's always the slow inside workers and that is U-Haul's process. Even my checkout took 5 minutes and that's with everything uploaded and agreed to online.BRYCE L.

Management was very unprofessional when I had trouble getting the key out of the lockbox. No help,rude, and condescending. The lady cleaning out a truck did her best to help but no help whatsoever from management. When we went to load our storage unit at the location, we were advised that there would already be a lock available in the unit. One was not available, so I had to go to the front office to get one. The manager of the operation provided me with the lock and apologized, stating that they were very busy that day. We got into our unit without issue and were able to unload the rest of the truck. The individual instructions for access into the units was not clear at all. We tripped the alarms to our unit at least 3 times before another renter showed us out to work the alarm systems. Considering we had to rely on another renter to clarify how to access the units is concerning. There are some posted signs and placards on the outside of the building, but there is nothing regarding the system posted within the U-Haul app or the emails that I received after completing the check-in process. I put a total of 15 miles on the truck. I put 5 gallons of gas in the truck. When the final invoice was emailed to me they charged me $25 for gas. The gas gage showed just under 1/2 when I got in the truck and just over 1/2 when I left it. I talked with customer service and they advised a credit would be given on my credit card. That never happened. In addition I had reserved 2 furniture dollys; they didn't have them. They told me that even though I reserved them on line they do not save those. I had to purchase 2 from them.John W.

The unit was clean and ready but it was almost impossible to pull the trailer back to it because it was so packed. And I had a small 4x8. No way could it have been done with a larger trailer. When I had to back all the way down the row of units because the other way out was packed full of rental trucks. While the staff was helpful with our move in I must say the communication between the call center and the local U-Haul facility was awful! We had two individual one-way moves which qualified us for two free months of storage. Initially we were informed by the call center we couldn't do back-to-back months in the same unit but they would make a reservation for the 2nd free month. When I received a text indicating my "move-out day was approaching" I called the call center and was told, "it's up to the individual store manager if you can get a 2nd free month." Then was told by the call center the "store manager will contact you," which of course they didn't. I went to move my items the next day only to find out I'd already been billed for the another month for my current unit! Fortunately, the store employee understood what was happening and backed the charge out. Doesn't end here; then the employee informed me that have no other similar units available! So the reservation that had been in the system for a month meant NOTHING! I had to rent a truck and find other accommodations…seems a very-very poor way to do business and treat a customer who just spent $3K on moves.Frick W. | Expérience générale

Not much parking and returning vehicles can trap cars parked along back of building. Blake, the reason I'm doing this, in particular was absolutely fantastic. He's the bartender, the pizza delivery guy, the person gathering carts in a lot that makes you think "why is he working here (no offense)? They seem like they could be doing something much more lucrative". All of your employees were at least pretty good - but Blake is special. Fantastic attitude and it's authentic. I can tell it's real. I went in and paid my july and August rent in July and told them I was moving out by end of July. I was out by middle of August, they even called me to tell me my unit wasnt locked in August and I told them it was empty already. Then in Sept got an email I was past due and responded I wasnt as I had canceled my unit. In Oct I talked to a lady over the phone reiterating the same thing. In November she called me again and then after hanging up with her someone called me from Pensacola and once again I told this other lady.. Blake helped us a ton. Super nice, super helpful and professional. I stood in line and watched him deal with a few other very rude customers and he handled it like a champ. He was at our arrival location. The departing staff were good, nothing special. Truck smelled a little when I got it but I was able to work through it. We have used this facility numerous times renting uhaul trucks but yesterday rented a storage unit. The staff member was extremely friendly but not knowledgeable at all on typing skills, didn't know how an offer currently running worked, confused the entire time she was talking with us. On top of all that she directed us to the wrong storage unit on the map. Then on top of that we come back after store closes to put our stuff in the storage unit and we can't access the building because she never issued us an access card. Then tried calling the after hours manager and the phone just rang and rang and the n voicemail was full. Everything went very well, and that was due to 2 factors. First, UHaul equipment (truck and auto trailer) are top notch. Very safe and very reliable. Second, and most importantly, your assistant manager at the Panama City location saved the day. You see, I reserved the truck, trailer, and a storage unit on August 8th, with the assumption that all would be available on the dates designated for the move (Aug 31st and Sep 1st). The equipment was ready on the 31st, and I arrived in Panama City on the 1st only to hear that the storage unit was not available. Apparently, your computer system assumed that I intended to move my things into the storage unit 3 weeks before I would pick up the truck to move the stuff in the first place. If I could make that happen I wouldn't have needed the truck. I could have clicked my heels like Dorothy and presto, me and my belongings would have appeared on Aug 8th, when I made the reservations. Your assistant manager worked magic in finding a storage unit, on site, for me. His customer service skills and professionalism were outstanding in every respect. I'm in retail management, and I know when someone makes their company look good no matter what. This gentleman did exactly that. But he should have never been put in that position in the first place. When your customer is moving, it's best to assume that he/she will need a reserved storage unit upon their arrival, not before. Such a logical assumption should be incorporated into your computer program, and it's rather astonishing that it isn't. I hope experiences such as mine will help.David C. | Premières impressions
