This was one of the worst uhaul experiences I've had all together. There were employees that did their best to accommodate amend the mishaps that kept occuring. But overall experience from the initial rental to final delivery/pickup up, it was nuts. I would not rent a uhaul ubox ever again nor do I plan on recommending it.Juliette C.
I would recommend only because it's close and they have almost everything needed. The staff are extremely slow. Waiting for my turn can take 45 minutes or more. Some staff are friendly but most aren't.Peggy M.
The drop off was very easy. The staff was professional and very friendly. The two men who helped me had smiles on their faces and and asked me if there had been any issues with the rental. There had not. Has I was leaving another employee a young woman waved to us. This facility is in a rather low area of Tacoma we're things are pretty dirty but this facilities grounds etc and equipment were very clean. I will rent from this facility in the future or drop off at this location.Charles B.
Cargo area of 20ft truck was filled with oil called customer service, was transferred 3 times before being told to call roadside assistance. Was on hold so long that I gave up and dealt with it. Truck also had terribly spongy brakes and the steering popped when turning.CHRISTOPHER M.

Explain in detail what Daily rate means so your customers understand that they are getting charged for the price of the teuck, the insurance, and if you get accessories. Then they charge you for the miles.CHARLESETTA L.

We rented this rental for a one way. When we asked how come it's dirty and sticky they told us they don't clean one ways! Really UHAUL? It's unbelievable that you don't value your customers to at least wipe the vehicle down, specially since we are still in a pandemic. Rachel KrallRACHEL K.

Customer service was horrible. Self-proclaimed "acting manager" Brandon Meneghini was an arrogant, cocky individual with no manners. Was wearing workout shorts and proceeded to scratch his crotch/groin area with open legs while sitting on a stool behind the counter with his feet up on the counter. He upset a customer in front of me and then proceeded to upset me. He charged me the 11,00 $ additional rider insurance fee for the van even though he never asked me if I wanted it, no initialing of a choice either way, just charged me and stated I asked for it. I NEVER ask for supplemental insurance as I have coverage both on my credit card and auto policies. I travel 200 days a year, I know the coverage I have. The truck visors are broken . The drivers side door does not close tight I filled the gas tank and was told that I would be compensated for the gas I didn't use but was not compensated.Carol L.
Lady at the front desk told be I wouldn't be able to pick up my reserved truck because I wasn't wearing a mask because I have a medical condition. Threatened to cancel my reservation if I didn't put a mask on my face. Didn't care if it covered my mouth or nose, just wanted me to put it on my face.Brian L.
I've been unimpressed by U-Haul's customer service and app over my last several visits. We reserved a truck for 6 hours, starting at 1pm. When we arrived, we attempted to use the mobile-check in but the app wouldn't get past the "Awaiting Approval" phase. When we went inside, Aidan informed us that they closed at 5, so we wouldn't be able to get the full 6 hours we reserved unless we brought it back the next day. He was practically comatose and could use some customer service training. He was similarly unresponsive when we made it back, walking around as if he wasn't sure where he was going. He told me to give the keys to another associate, who told me that Aidan was actually the one who was supposed to help. Finally Aidan grabbed someone else who got me checked out and on my way.KYLE S.

The scheduling part of uhaul called me on Friday and stated my trailer I rented would need to be back by 8am when I had let the agent know I need the trailer to Friday she stated another family rented and I need to have back by 8am or they would charge me another day. When I kindly reminded rep that I will not be in town to return trailer till Friday she stated did you even read you contract it says 8am return as I remember the rep when I rented it she highlighted the important details so I grabbed my contract and let her know I was unaware and would try to make 8am but cannot promise. She wasn't understanding at all however when I returned the trailer today at 3:30 the rep stated I was ok. The rep at Lakewood wa uhaul was very nice and professional. My uboxes had been in storage. Then I got a notice that they were moved to a location over an hour away that is quite difficult to get to, plus they said my storage rates were going up 20 %. Couldn't uhaul have contacted me BEFORE this move so I could make a decision if I wanted to pick up my stuff or have it moved. After literally hours on the phone on hold and trying to get through to the right people my stuff was moved back to the original closer location so I could schedule delivery. I schedule the delivery online and it showed a charge for storage on the day of delivery even though I had just paid the storage fee for the next month. The call center was completely unhelpful, with wait times just to talk to a person 30 minutes or more. Then they would send me to someone else and I had to wait another half hour on hold until someone answered. After hours trying to get through to someone who knew what they were doing I tried to contact the local uhaul place but never could get through to this location. They never answered their phone and it always rolled over to the call center. I ended up having to drive a half hour in heavy traffic to the uhaul place where they were actually helpful and did take care of my issue. But I shouldn't have had to make that trip. If they are too busy to answer the phone then they need to hire more people. Also uhaul wanted to charge me 1 400 $for local movers when on the origin end it was 600 $. Basically my stuff was held hostage and I had no recourse but to find another option. The delivery actually went pretty smoothly and the Parkland Uhaul were helpful and had everything ready. Overall a terrible experience though. I would not recommend or use uhaul uboxes again.BRENDA R.

We had 2 boxes. One arrived in perfect condition as expected. The other was damaged along the way. The contents poured out when we opened it. It appeared that it had been turned on its side and maybe even dropped. There were 2 large holes on the side of the box where something punched through, pieces of wood from the container were inside. Someone put some green plastic (bag) in the holes. We were not told of the damage to the box or what occurred. There were some of our items broken and damaged, yet have not finished going through all the boxes. We took several photos and will see how their customer service is for this.LISA A.

I had the worst experience both at customer service and trailer levels. 1) Initial order for 5x8 trailer online -> later changed last minute to a 4x8 trailer Pick up at: 9601 pacific avenue, Tacoma ,wa - They did not have a ball+mount for the trailer! And told me ' go get at Home Depot ' - I had to walk to Napa parts store across the street to purchase one ! -ALL THESE INCONVENIENCE ON MY DAY OF TRAVEL! -In addition , they hooked up my trailer wrong => chain dragging on the floor ( see pic attached ) . As a first timer towing a trailer , I had no idea on what is the right way to look at the chain. - as I started my road travel - the chained were too loud dragging on road - called your customer service -> not helpful and redirected me to raid assistance-> which I waited for >20 minutes. I resulted to calling around to the nearest uhaul in Seattle that's open and found one - the attendant was able to fix my chain and filed a report. - Not only were you grossly negligent in your equipment set up , but put me at a high risk and endangered my life with that trailer . - The pacific store did not stock furniture pads in the trailer that I paid for : 10$ - which I have not been refunded the funds !!- REFUND MY MONEY ASAP. I'm beyond livid and appalled at your service . You will not have my business in futureLINET ATIENO N.

Car was tidy, windows were not clean inside and out. I paid for the van, no one came outside to check for problems. I used your App to record van condition. I couldn't get through one screen and the manager told me I had to take a picture of the fuel and mileage gauges. I did this and tried to send it, it would only buffer. I took my phone to the manager, he said he could fix it online. What he did was charge me AGAIN for the van rental. He assured me this wasn't so. I went to my credit card statement and showed him the two charges and demanded he cancel the second charge, he did. Another customer came up and asked about the very same thing, he had been double charged for his rental also, his money had not been refunded. I will be very careful and alert if I ever use U-Haul services again.LINDA E.

Reserved 26ft over a week ahead of time night before was called and told none where available and was down sized to a 15ft â€œthat's all they had available â€œ and told to pick it up at another location take it or leave it. The truck they gave me had a damaged grill not on the damaged list low right tire when brought to their attention they told me there sorry that truck should have been pulled of the line.I ask for some kind of compensation since they down sized me and I would have to make more trips. They took 0,6 cents off the mileage rate big deal. In my opinion U-Haul use to be top of the line but you have gone way down hill. I won't use you again there are better companies out there. I know this won't be posted on your reviews, but at least you will have read it.THOMAS S.

Terrible service. This was my first time using a uhaul for a local move and they said I travelled 200 miles when I only went 13 miles. They charged my account over 400 $and the manager Dylan was very rude and did not want to dispute the charge. He said it was hard to believe that his employees wouldn't do a walk thru with me. The employees did not tell me to do anything, just handed me the keys and tell me where the truck was located. Terrible experience I cannot afford to hand over 400 $on top of my moving costs, if I wanted to travel 200 miles I would have gotten a one way it's unbelievable. All employees that helped me were lazy and did not care about customer satisfaction.ESPERANZA C.

Make sure equipment is maintained. The battery gauge was all over the place causing other things to flicker while driving it back. Also the total cost of the rental for 1 day was over 250 $and that is rediculous whatever you just keep price jumping and you do not follow through with actual advertised price. What a scamdavid W.
Your customer service agents were great. They helped me out with two issues. The first truck has a service light on; they had me in a new truck and on my way in minutes. On turn in, I was incorrectly charged a fuel surcharge. I emailed them asking for that to be corrected, and again within a day it was fixed. Overall I'm very pleased with this location. First off, the pickup location was changed last minute to a place farther away, and when I'm paying by the mile, that increases my costs, and there was no offer of compensation. When I received the call informing me of the change in pickup location, they gave me the wrong location, making me late for the pickup. They said it would be at the "uhaul moving and storage of Parkland", it was not. They said there would be an e mail sent with the information on where to pick up the truck and I never received the e mail. The pickup location had no parking available, so I had to street park. My previous experience with uhaul was a complete and total disaster, combined with this utterly disappointing experience, I hope to never rent from uhaul again. I honestly wonder how uhaul stays in business with customer service this bad. I hope some competitor will come along and put uhaul out of business, or at least force uhaul to come to grips with the way they treat customers. Nothing but frustration dealing with uhaul.Joshua M.

Don't yell at frustrated customers, don't get into arguments with the moving company in front of the customers, and learn to resolve issues between the Moving Help movers and the UHaul without the customer having to constantly be involved. Maybe pick up the phone so that I'm not on hold for between 30 minutes and TWO HOURS every single (without fail!) time that I have to call. The absolute WORST business/customer experience I have ever had and has left me with absolute resolve that I will never, ever, EVER use UHaul ever again, despite a history of good experiences. This one was bad enough to have overshadowed any positive previous experiences.Mia R.
Hitch was scheduled months in advance then was rescheduled just days before. After hitch was installed, they forgot to secure the exhaust back so I had to do that part myself. I purchased a ball for the hitch and that was not included at the uhaul.Deniz F.

I rented a truck and when I arrived at my destination I discovered that the rear roll up door was pad locked rendering the truck useless. I was told the key should've been on the keychain, it wasn't. I had to drive 20 miles out of my way to purchase bolt cutters to cut the padlock all the while being charged for mileage. Put my job off schedule and delayed pickup for my customersâ€¦ It also cost me more in wages. I can go on but that just about sums it up. Normally you guys are pretty good but this was a ridiculous experience.RONALD P.

My unit was broken into. Thought only a few thousand in items were stolen when I did a quick walk thru. After moving my stuff out found that more than I originally thought was taken. Around 5 thousand dollars worth of items stolen. Was told cameras were not working that day! Haha!!! All this does not even include the items that can NEVER be replaced!!!!! Oh and OVER 5 thousand dollars in tools that I didn't know how to account for because I've been buying them for over 20 years. So thank you for keeping my items safe Uhaul. I can see from your public tv in the lobby that the cameras look fine to me but for sum reason they didn't work when all my stuff was stolen. As far as renting a truck from Uhaul that seems to be ok. Your call center are not trained well. I was promised twice a 24 hour access storage unit and jumped through hoops to arrange everything just to be told that it was NOT 24 hrs when I got to the location.
