When returning the vehicle I pulled in and the signs said to wait for a rep. I sat there for 10 min before going inside to find 2 workers not busy because I walked right up to the counter and completed the return.

The wait was over 20 minutes despite having filled out the express checkin. The mileage charges are ridiculous. 79 cents for the miles that I estimated and then 40 cents per mile after I exceed my estimate. When i asked to change my mileage estimate to lower it to only pay 40 cents the agent refused. This is a dumb incentive system coercing people to either underestimate their miles or feel cheated.

The trailer still had bits of dog food or pellets in it when we rented it. We did not know this until we opened the trailer at my apartment and had to sweep it ourselves prior to using it. Driving the truck was easy, however the transmission jerked just a little when you went above 30 miles. The building is clean. Doesn't seem like a friendly staff. Almost like a somber environment and no one greeted incoming guests. Not that we expected it, but being first time customers you'd think they'd have a staff that would provide some knowledge or assistance to new comers. It's like renting a truck from this company the staff expects you to know what you're doing. Uncertain if I'd recommend this specific location again.... it was just the closest to my apartment. If all locations are like this then no....I'll take my business to Enterprise. Oh, and there were so many fee's that I didn't know would be added to my bill, the mileage you'd have to pay for that I did not know of, renting the vehicle, taxes, insurance which was optional... wasn't expecting for a 17 footer it'd be that expensive.

Jessica (I think that was her name) at check out was great! Friendly, empathetic and on to the point! Jason at check in was friendly and quick! Both of them kept friendly conversation during my visit, compare to SeaTac location, they are MUCH customer service orientated people! This location has another U-haul two blocks away and that is confusing, when I called the phone number, unfortunately it goes to national line.

My biggest irritation with this whole process was the actual delivery information. My husband and I busted our butts to get our U Boxes filled by the deadline provided in our quote, only to receive an email telling us that the boxes wouldn't actually ship for FIVE more days!!! Then it took multiple phone calls to try and get information on why that was (never really got a satisfactory answer) and then on where the boxes were, and when they could be delivered. I was extremely livid when I waited on hold one time for almost 30 minutes and finally someone picked up the line, but they never said anything!!! I could hear employees in the background talking, laughing, etc. I kept saying"hello?" for 5 minutes (because I'll be damned if I'm going to hang up after waiting for 30 minutes), but to no avail. THEY disconnected the line. I called back and waited on hold another 20 minutes before finally getting someone. So in a nutshell, the people who finally helped me were helpful and nice, but I had to be punted around by multiple folks (many of whom claimed they had no way of getting the info for me and had to transfer me to UBox people - which is the bloody hotline I called in the first place) until I got them. Would I recommend U Box to anyone? Not unless they didn't care when they got their stuff. Ultimately it was the cheapest option and everything came in fine, but it was nerve-wracking not having the info I needed when I needed it. I don't think I will be using it again.

Don’t rent anything from this place. Rude staff and so poorly ran. I dropped my cargo van rental off 1/2 hour early and barely got home before I was called because I did not return it. Then you have to drive back to the facility as they never answer calls. Had to get corporate involved. Huge waste of time due to total incompetence on the staff.The van was left dirty when we got it as well so clearly they have no real check in process. When I had to drive back to facility the girl behind counter accused me of leaving the keys in it and not going inside for proper check in. Which was not the case. I went inside and was handed my paperwork and someone else’s paperwork when I handed the keys off. I had to demand they check security cameras. I was treated horribly rude and like a criminal all because staff are incompetent and unprofessional. I will never go there again. Save yourself and heed my advice.

Here’s the deal - when you rent from Uhaul you arrive knowing it’s going to be a Uhaul experience. Long lines during peak hours, staff that’s shuffling many different roles, newbies who are still learning their roles. Like remembering to tighten the hitch of the trailer to the trailer ball. It’s uhaul - I rent because it’s an inexpensive rental for a piece of equipment and it will get me through a pinch. There are many great employees at almost all the Uhaul locations because people tend to be inherently good and need work. They make the experience pleasant if they are inherently pleasant. People shop WalMart for the value not the experience - I see Uhaul in the same light.

Employee Jason needs to work on his anger & customer skills. When I pulled into the parking lot, he got attitude with me & said I can't park here when I'm trying to park in Handicap as I have a placard. He purposely parked a empty trailer in middle of the parking lot where I can't get to the spot. Also told me to park in the street. It's illegal to park IN THE BIKE LANE! So I parked my truck to go inside, he called the cops on me, extremely unnecessarily & uncalled for when it's not emergency. Again please educate Jason with disability law regarding to handicap parking space, bike lane & threatening customer in anger & attitude. 96th & Pacific Ave in Tacoma, WA

This is twice a certain size truck was reserved several weeks in advance, while I received all the reminders and confirmations up until the day before the pick up, nevertheless, the truck was not there when I arrived for it. No explanation except for that they don't know where it is, first they lost the key they said, then the truck was also missing, yet it appears reservable. Next time I will call and make them send me a photo of the truck first before I go there to get it.

I booked 3 weeks before pick up to pickup in buckley. I chose uhaul because it was closer to my home. A day before pickup I was told I have to go an hour out of my way. Corporate had an attitude and totally unapologetic. I will never use uhaul again. Tacoma is not my issue. Uhaul is. We move all the time. No apologies and no compensation. Ridiculous. Customer value is low.

I requested to pick up in Buckley near my home. The day before pick up I learned I had to go an hour out of my way for pick up. No apologies, just attitude from corporate. Then along the way I had a blow out the app wouldn’t work and we held on the phone for two hours. Three hours until help arrived. We move all the time and will never use uhaul again.

I had 4got a key and the black guy 2day was so rude to me he actually wanted me to draw a picture of a house key!! He refused to help once I tried and failed at drawing it...look at the camera...the mgr noticed me calling as he didnt know he was standing outside he was annoyed he was getting a call...the two ladies are the ones who stepped to assist...pls review the camera and I'm sure this is NOT new...Sundays crew was great...funny, polite and made me feel important...so I will wait to see how Corp responds...another customer said today " it's always like that" well I paid my bill in full and all because I left the key in the truck I had to pay to re key the new place...my mood was terrible when I left that location...

First, take down the canopy that makes it impossible to have more than one vehicle in the driveway at a time. There is no parking on the street at this location. Then TRAIN the young man behind the counter to NEVER tell a customer he won't help them. THAT is his ENTIRE JOB! Had to return a car dolly before I could finish unloading the truck. Was told by the young man he would not help get the car off the dolly or unhook the dolly from the truck. He would not even unstrap the car so I could drive it off the dolly. Said he heard his GM tell a customer that earlier in the day. Calling U Haul was just as unhelpful. Wasn't offered any help after being on hold for 15 minutes, when I said I wanted to take the truck to a different location to drop it off where I could get some help, but was told I could file a complaint. This also was not a solution to getting the truck unloaded. I am a 70 year old woman, told to unload my car, out in the street, by myself. As I was on the phone, another young man came in to help customers, so when I hung up the phone, I went to him. He was very helpful and didn't hesitate to say he would certainly undue the car and dolly. The only thing he was not allowed to do was drive my car off the dolly, which I did not expect him to do . He unhooked the car, I drove it off, he unhooked the dolly and I was on my way to finish unloading the truck. The last young man I talked to when I returned the truck was also very helpful. The rating of this location may have been different had the last 2 young men been the first ones I talked to.

Not reprimanding your employees (another employee at the computer station next to the one I was doing business) regarding an issue with a rental. This manager or supervisor threatened to fire an employee in front of customers. Not very professional. The employee that was handling me was very professional and valued me as a customer and also valued my business.

It's too expensive. At almost a dollar per mile; The company would still make a killing dropping the price of mileage by half, at least. Customer service, the truck, your location, it was all great; I just can't drop so much money all the time. That's why Uhaul is always the last option, it's cost to much.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I would like to be clear it is NOT the individual people who work there it's the location on the corner. No place to park it was hectic, traffic heavy. I had to leave my car on the side of the street. I felt nervous when I left to go pick up my item that my car would get struck and damaged. AGAIN....it's not the people they were excellent It's the location it's crowded no parking. Last but not least, and very important - I won't be using this location. There were only two people working in this location when we came to pick up the truck we reserved. Uhaul actually called me while we were waiting in line to get the vehicle to see if we still needed it because it hadn't been picked up. One guy is just staring at the computer, I asked if there was a problem and he said yes, hold on. The other guy was flying off the handle yelling about things not being checked in. I would have thought it would be easy to get in and out after making reservations, but it took us nearly and hour! Returning it was the same thing! I finally threw the keys on the counter and left.

Mike the manager is unprofessional. First off, we reserved a truck of 26 feet. They call us the day before and only have a 20 'truck, that they overbooked. Then afterwords, my husband gets the truck and the back is broken. He has to help two employees try to fix the back door because they have no other large truck. My husband says that when he went yesterday, he drove to the address to get truck, told to drive his car to another address. He drove to get the car a few blocks away. The truck door was broken, so he drove his car there, then him and two employees worked on the truck door because no other truck was available. After about an hour it was fixed. We come in to drop truck off and their was a line. I have MS and their was a seat, so when closer to my turn, I sat down. Mike was rude. He says we got the truck insinuating we are late on time. Nope, we came for a 2pm reservation and it was digitally checked out but not driven off until about 3. Then instead of him helping me , he tells the next person he doesn't deal with rude people. I wasn't rude, not yelling, nothing. But after that, I was. He didn't even help us. A black man was kind and checked us out. You didn't stand by your reservation guarantee, you have long waits, broken trucks and I cannot or won't deal with that in the future. I will tell all my friends in the area to never come to this location. It is too hot outside for horrible customer service. I will never use this UHaul again

I had to have my pick-up transferred to this store. I then waited in line for 20 minutes to pick up my uhaul. When I came back to drop it off there was a big mix up with what I should have been charged for the rental. It was finally fixed after over 30 minutes and then my account was charged twice, before the second charge was removed and the credit they owed me added to my account causing my account to be overdrafted. Overall I was not happy with my experience with U-Haul and I most likely would not rent from them again or recommend them.

We had a horrible experience with this location. I pre paid for the truck with U-Haul prior to my movers picking up the truck but when they went to pick it up no one could figure out that it had already been paid for. I called U-Haul and they couldn’t get the contract to go through either and my two movers waited over an hour for this to be resolved!! This cost me an additional $120 in pay for two movers and the assistant who had to wait for them! I am NOT HAPPY about this at all. It seems no matter how pro Active I am there is always some sort or issue that costs me time and money with U-Haul.

The exterior of the truck was dirty, as was the cab. My rate jumped $100 the morning I came to pick up the truck. The attendant was nice & skilled enough to adjust my rate back to what my WRITTEN QUOTE said.

The website said there was a truck available at the location near me. 6 hours later (an hour AFTER the deadline to cancel w/o cost), I was notified that the only truck I could rent was at a location an extra 10 miles away. 100% unethical, bait-and-switch move that forced me to spend an extra $20 in mileage. What can you do to improve? Not having your fucking website lie to people would be a nice fucking start.

Staff was very rude. During pickup I was told I had a contract for one way. I initally was under the impression I had a local in town contract, The staff member told me he would change the one way contract to a local contract when I returned the vehicle. When I did return the Vehicle the staff member, Michael Smolke, said this was a one way rental and had to go to another location. When I attempted to explain that it was supposed to be a local rental he interrupted me and said no it is a one way rental. I again tried to explain and he interrupted again saying can he talk. I said no, so then he refuse me servuce going to another customer. At that point I put the keys and the contract on the counter and said there are the truck keys and the truck is in your lot. There is no way I will ever again do business with U-Haul or recommend even my worst enemy fo this type of service. Rude Service and cheated on the rate. NOT AGAIN!!!

My order pick up location was changed without any notification. The representative at the original location knew nothing about my order. I then made a reservation at another location and that representative was not able to tell me that my reservation was moved. It was not until I cancelled the original order that I realized the location had been changed. The original confirmation email clearly stated that a representative would contact me to confirm and provide pick up location information if it was changed. This did not happen according to the stated policy. I then had to cancel the 2nd order, and I went to the new pick up location for the original order. When I arrived, the vehicle had not been returned, and the phone number on file was not in service. I was told that the nearest location was closing soon, so I could not pick up from there (even though I could have made it a bit before closing time or within 5 minutes of closing). They were not willing to stay open a few minutes to remedy the situation that was entirely caused by u-haul and not by me. I then had to drive out to a location that was 7 miles further from the original drop off location and out of the way from my two locations I was moving from and to. The whole process took over an hour of me making calls and driving around to 3 different uhaul locations as if I had not even made a reservation. The Spannaway Uhal location employees were not friendly. The woman who helped with the return/check out process had to go check the mileage 3 times. After the 2nd time, she offered to email the receipt. I said that would be fine and asked the total. She sighed and said that she was the only one at the desk and would have to check the mileage a 3rd time to finish the check out process. I asked her to do that so I could know my total. She again sighed and acted as if I was asking a lot of her. No one ever apologized to me for the inconvenience and instead acted as if I was an inconvenience. I was not offered any discount or anything even thought the rental was more expensive due to additional mileage and my move was delayed by over an hour. After this experience, I would be very hesitant to ever use uhaul again.

Corner crowded and difficult to navigate. Didn't actually have room to accept my reservation for one month free storage, and didn't have new section blocked online. Slow, long line. The woman checking me out was trying to be helpful and was kind. The supervisor/manager wasn't helpful to accommodate my actual reservation, and on second return to drop equipment 2 staff we're discussing security/broken door by yelling about it across the parking lot. Beyond the woman who checked me out being competent, this was a terrible uhaul dealer.

Although, based on past experiences with U-haul, this was a better reservation/execution than the run-around of previously experienced. The problem is that the 26' truck we reserved bounced really severely on the highway whether loaded or not. Also, the Air Conditioning did not work. Someone needs to do some shock absorber and A/C maintenance on this truck. Other than that, the site did a fine job of executing what they promised.

The lady who helped me rent the truck told and permitted after hours drop off for no extra chatter, since it’s only few hours after the first day. How ever I got charged for 2 days. I called in asked, guy spoke with me, I have explained and the guy was entirely no help. He is happy to charge me extra day even though I did drop off after hours. He did not even offered to prorate! If we’re to know this before, I could have utilized it the extra day too! In a way, I did a favor by returning so that U haul can rent it to somebody. The guy was rude and couldn’t get the point. If you are not customer centric, you can get the same fate as Blockbuster stores! Full charge for few hours extra!! Won’t rent again and recommend it to anybody either!

Initial call to the call center was very irritating, the agent was not listening to me or seem interested in what I needed, only in booking a reservation. She kept telling me about 'my only options' , I reminded her there's options all over town. The gentleman at the local store that handled the trailer pickup was very courteous and helpful, kudos to him. The lady that handled my drop off did not come out to the drop off area where it reads "stop here and someone will help you" , so after waiting a while I went in and found her and some other guy sitting comfortably at their desk, chatting, She asked if I could back up the trailer into a pretty tight spot, the parking area is very small but I wanted out asap so I backed the trailer up. She removed the chains and then started to yank on them as if trying to lift the trailer off the hitch by hand, crushing the light's wiring with the chains. I alerted her to the wire situation and asked if maybe the 'Jack' would be the way to lift the trailer off the hitch. She seemed surprized and a bit embarrased. She cranked the jack up and I left, wondering how she does the job with those 2 inch nails. I hope no one is harmed from this lady's obvious incompetence, this type of work can be dangerous if little details are ignored. The trailer was great, worked very well, the price was fair. I will continue to use Uhaul. I know good help is hard to find...

The truck still had boxes of trash from the previous renter and was not cleaned out. Also, the truck rear door had to be slammed down from high up to close. If you tried to close slowly it got stuck about 1 foot above closing. I felt the mileage was not updated but it was my fault for not checking the mileage before I drove it. For a trip of less than 40 miles I was charged 103. My fault for not checking but I was not happy to say the least. The condition of the truck and the mileage issue leads me to believe that the truck wasn't checked out and updated in the system. I guess it is a fault if mine to presume people are doing their job correctly.

Employees were friendly and helpful. Don’t think you can do much about how cramped the lot is. Difficult access. And when returning after hours they had parked a truck in the entrance driveway. We spoke on the phone before closing so they knew we were coming. All we could do was back the trailer up to the truck and leave it. Overall condition of the trailer was good but it did have several pieces of trash in it (coffee cup, wrappers, etc).

When I was on my way to return the trailer. I heard a lot of clunking noise so I stopped to find out the nut for the hitch socket was loose. At first, I tried to hand tie the nuts but it didn't help. Then, I stopped at the nearest Midas and asked if they can help tighten the nut. They simply said they are not responsible for Uhaul. And asked me to go the nearest Uhaul down the road. There, the agent said she only has one wrench so I could not tighten it. So, she called the original rental place to see if I can dropped it here instead of risking it of loosing the trailer. They simply said, they will charge me for dropping it somewhere as. So, I decided to take a chance to take it to the next Uhaul place, but the second Uhaul place said, "we don't do such thing here." Even though I just wanted to borrow a tool to tighten the loose nut. So, I ended up driving it to my house and fixed it before I return the trailer. In short, I think Every Uhaul place should have at least a tool to help in this kind a situation. They would need 2 wrench please. :(

when we went to pickup all the driveways were blocked and there was no place to park. my driver [mom] was told to park 4 blocks away and walk down which is unacceptable...I am 50 and broken and mom is 70. WHY was such a suggestion even made?!?! I also did not like that I was expected to do my pre-trip inspection by myself [read to uhaul rep with me] on a mobile device with an app that was temperamental to say the least. not everyone is tech-friendly.

I did the "express check in" which didn't seem to make the process quicker for anyone. I arrived at 1:45 and there was one employee helping a customer at the counter, 1 customer behind him and myself. There was 1 and then a 2nd girl at a computer desk connected to the counter. Neither were evidently qualified to help customers because they did not. I wasn't sure what they were doing as all they did was chat and text on their phones. I finally got the keys at 2:25. I won't return.
