The wait was over 20 minutes despite having filled out the express checkin. The mileage charges are ridiculous. 79 cents for the miles that I estimated and then 40 cents per mile after I exceed my estimate. When i asked to change my mileage estimate to lower it to only pay 40 cents the agent refused. This is a dumb incentive system coercing people to either underestimate their miles or feel cheated.

The trailer still had bits of dog food or pellets in it when we rented it. We did not know this until we opened the trailer at my apartment and had to sweep it ourselves prior to using it. Driving the truck was easy, however the transmission jerked just a little when you went above 30 miles. The building is clean. Doesn't seem like a friendly staff. Almost like a somber environment and no one greeted incoming guests. Not that we expected it, but being first time customers you'd think they'd have a staff that would provide some knowledge or assistance to new comers. It's like renting a truck from this company the staff expects you to know what you're doing. Uncertain if I'd recommend this specific location again.... it was just the closest to my apartment. If all locations are like this then no....I'll take my business to Enterprise. Oh, and there were so many fee's that I didn't know would be added to my bill, the mileage you'd have to pay for that I did not know of, renting the vehicle, taxes, insurance which was optional... wasn't expecting for a 17 footer it'd be that expensive.

Jessica (I think that was her name) at check out was great! Friendly, empathetic and on to the point! Jason at check in was friendly and quick! Both of them kept friendly conversation during my visit, compare to SeaTac location, they are MUCH customer service orientated people! This location has another U-haul two blocks away and that is confusing, when I called the phone number, unfortunately it goes to national line.

They didn’t have my reservation that I did online so it ended up costing way more than I was quoted online. And the girl that did my reservation was rude and seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing.

Don’t rent anything from this place. Rude staff and so poorly ran. I dropped my cargo van rental off 1/2 hour early and barely got home before I was called because I did not return it. Then you have to drive back to the facility as they never answer calls. Had to get corporate involved. Huge waste of time due to total incompetence on the staff.The van was left dirty when we got it as well so clearly they have no real check in process. When I had to drive back to facility the girl behind counter accused me of leaving the keys in it and not going inside for proper check in. Which was not the case. I went inside and was handed my paperwork and someone else’s paperwork when I handed the keys off. I had to demand they check security cameras. I was treated horribly rude and like a criminal all because staff are incompetent and unprofessional. I will never go there again. Save yourself and heed my advice.

Here’s the deal - when you rent from Uhaul you arrive knowing it’s going to be a Uhaul experience. Long lines during peak hours, staff that’s shuffling many different roles, newbies who are still learning their roles. Like remembering to tighten the hitch of the trailer to the trailer ball. It’s uhaul - I rent because it’s an inexpensive rental for a piece of equipment and it will get me through a pinch. There are many great employees at almost all the Uhaul locations because people tend to be inherently good and need work. They make the experience pleasant if they are inherently pleasant. People shop WalMart for the value not the experience - I see Uhaul in the same light.

Jennifer S. Was beyond helpful & knowledgeable with hooking up the trailer. She explained everything & was extremely polite! When we returned the trailer she also unhooked it very quickly & we were on our way. The entire process took us about 1/2 hour total!! VERY HAPPY!!!

Employee Jason needs to work on his anger & customer skills. When I pulled into the parking lot, he got attitude with me & said I can't park here when I'm trying to park in Handicap as I have a placard. He purposely parked a empty trailer in middle of the parking lot where I can't get to the spot. Also told me to park in the street. It's illegal to park IN THE BIKE LANE! So I parked my truck to go inside, he called the cops on me, extremely unnecessarily & uncalled for when it's not emergency. Again please educate Jason with disability law regarding to handicap parking space, bike lane & threatening customer in anger & attitude. 96th & Pacific Ave in Tacoma, WA

This is twice a certain size truck was reserved several weeks in advance, while I received all the reminders and confirmations up until the day before the pick up, nevertheless, the truck was not there when I arrived for it. No explanation except for that they don't know where it is, first they lost the key they said, then the truck was also missing, yet it appears reservable. Next time I will call and make them send me a photo of the truck first before I go there to get it.

I booked 3 weeks before pick up to pickup in buckley. I chose uhaul because it was closer to my home. A day before pickup I was told I have to go an hour out of my way. Corporate had an attitude and totally unapologetic. I will never use uhaul again. Tacoma is not my issue. Uhaul is. We move all the time. No apologies and no compensation. Ridiculous. Customer value is low.

I requested to pick up in Buckley near my home. The day before pick up I learned I had to go an hour out of my way for pick up. No apologies, just attitude from corporate. Then along the way I had a blow out the app wouldn’t work and we held on the phone for two hours. Three hours until help arrived. We move all the time and will never use uhaul again.

I had 4got a key and the black guy 2day was so rude to me he actually wanted me to draw a picture of a house key!! He refused to help once I tried and failed at drawing it...look at the camera...the mgr noticed me calling as he didnt know he was standing outside he was annoyed he was getting a call...the two ladies are the ones who stepped to assist...pls review the camera and I'm sure this is NOT new...Sundays crew was great...funny, polite and made me feel important...so I will wait to see how Corp responds...another customer said today " it's always like that" well I paid my bill in full and all because I left the key in the truck I had to pay to re key the new place...my mood was terrible when I left that location...

First, take down the canopy that makes it impossible to have more than one vehicle in the driveway at a time. There is no parking on the street at this location. Then TRAIN the young man behind the counter to NEVER tell a customer he won't help them. THAT is his ENTIRE JOB! Had to return a car dolly before I could finish unloading the truck. Was told by the young man he would not help get the car off the dolly or unhook the dolly from the truck. He would not even unstrap the car so I could drive it off the dolly. Said he heard his GM tell a customer that earlier in the day. Calling U Haul was just as unhelpful. Wasn't offered any help after being on hold for 15 minutes, when I said I wanted to take the truck to a different location to drop it off where I could get some help, but was told I could file a complaint. This also was not a solution to getting the truck unloaded. I am a 70 year old woman, told to unload my car, out in the street, by myself. As I was on the phone, another young man came in to help customers, so when I hung up the phone, I went to him. He was very helpful and didn't hesitate to say he would certainly undue the car and dolly. The only thing he was not allowed to do was drive my car off the dolly, which I did not expect him to do . He unhooked the car, I drove it off, he unhooked the dolly and I was on my way to finish unloading the truck. The last young man I talked to when I returned the truck was also very helpful. The rating of this location may have been different had the last 2 young men been the first ones I talked to.

Not reprimanding your employees (another employee at the computer station next to the one I was doing business) regarding an issue with a rental. This manager or supervisor threatened to fire an employee in front of customers. Not very professional. The employee that was handling me was very professional and valued me as a customer and also valued my business.
