I am a VP of Supply Chain by profession, so I do not take a terrible review like this lightly. If you don't want to read a novel on my experience â€" just know this â€" there is no tracking on your U-Box â€" it goes in to a â€œblack holeâ€ once you drop it off. The â€œGuaranteed delivery dateâ€ is absolutely untrue. It will be easier for me to list the terrible service issues I experienced with my U-Box: 1. Container was picked up and dropped off at the Greensboro Friendly Ave location by excellent moving help on April 22. My delivery to Denver was "Guaranteed" for May 8. 2. On April 28 I get a call from an associate at the Greensboro location asking me "when are you going to return your box, we have no record of receiving it back". Are you kidding? No tracking. About three hours later I get a call back confirming that they "found" my box. Concerned that it had been misplaced for a week, I asked if it was still guaranteed for delivery to Denver on May 8. Absolutely was the reply and I received an email to confirm that. I had airfare, hotel, car rental, etc. booked to fly to Denver on May 7 and moving help lined up for May 8. BTW, the U-Haul reps never told me to change/cancel my moving help in Denver. Was I supposed to know this, I thought they were integrated? My moving help calls me on the 8th asking where is my box? I explain the situation and they are super understanding. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the helping company â€œMUVâ€ in Denver. Hector, the owner, was just fantastic. 3. On May 4 I get this email notification â€œThe guaranteed arrival date at your neighborhood U-Haul location in Denver, CO is Friday, May 14, 2021.â€ What happened to the May 8 â€œGuaranteeâ€. I phoned and spoke to two different U-Haul associates. Neither was able to tell me where my box was or why it was now LATE. There was â€œnothingâ€ they could do. Again, no box tracking. Heck, I can track my Dominoes pizza by the minute online but not a U-Box being hauled by a "leader" in the transportation industry? Airline, car rental, hotel, etc. all had to be cancelled and re-booked for a week later. Arrangements had to be re-made for pet sitting, work coverage, etc. I had also paid 150 $for tickets to an even on May 15 which I now would not be able to attend. 4. It is now May 14 and I am at the airport awaiting my flight to Denver. I phone the Denver U-Haul office. After getting the run around and being on lengthy holds, I am told they have not received the box. Where is it? Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma? They can't tell me, but â€œassure meâ€ they' can let me know when it arrives. After landing in Denver, I phone again â€" no box, no idea where it is. Same on Saturday the 15th until around 4pm in the afternoon when I receive the â€œmy box is being held hostage callâ€. A U-Haul rep calls me and says the box has arrived, but cannot be released unless I give a credit card number over the phone to pay the amount due in full. I was not in a position to provide that info, so asked if I could call him back directly in a few minutes. Reply was â€œwell, no, my shift is over, but someone will be here to pick up the phoneâ€. I call back 15 minutes later and was on hold exactly 25 minutes before a rep picked up. The rep then states â€œI have no record of you box being received here in Denverâ€. Needless to say my blood pressure rose to about 250/200 and I wen a bit ballistic. The rep then says â€œlet me put you in touch with a â€œU-Box expertâ€. I then asked, â€œwill I be on hold for another 30 minutes when you forward me?â€ â€œAbsolutely notâ€. After 33 minutes on hold, I hang up. I calm myself with a few beers. Another call back to U-Haul and I pay my bill and schedule the box for Sunday pickup. I asked â€œwill I get an itemized receipt emailed?â€. â€œOf courseâ€. Never got it. Did the math and realized they did not give my 50 $/day late credit. Still awaiting that, so I know this ordeal is far from over. 5. Sunday morning May 16 my box is delivered by Hector and his helper from MUV. Great service from those guys â€" they flexed so cordially with all the changes I threw at them. The moral of the story: NEVER use U-Box, but if you do, be prepared to need extensive self-medication of your choosing.Thomas L.

Rented a car hauler and looked like the left fender was hit by something. As a result of the bent fender, it made it impossible to rotate down so I could get out of the car. I had to climb out of the window to get the car on and off the trailer. Other then that, employees were nice and quick to get me in and out both to pick up and drop off equipment. Thanks guysJohn K.

Phone service wasn't sensible -- I called for basic information: "what time will my uBox be delivered?" and, after a modest wait on holed (~5min) because 'all our agents were busy' was told that my call had been re-routed to the Raleigh office and they had no information on deliveries -- so she gave me the phone number of the driver that would be doing the delivery, said she didn't know who did the scheduling/routing for the drivers (who would set the driver's route and schedule). I thanked her, hung up, called the drivers' number and it timed out--sent me to voicemail, where I explained I would be travelling Monday and to please deliver as early as possible (I'd be there Tues morning and all day), that I would be there to meet the truck. No callback from driver. Tuesday, I called, again routed to Raleigh, who knew nothing about it; the agent said she would talk to her manager and call me back. Promptly called back with 11am-1pm delivery window. An hour later, a different agent, presumably from Greensboro, called me to 'confirm my order' -- did I still want a U-box delivery today? (!?!?!?) said yes, I did, and that I'd already confirmed my order online and by phone (Raleigh agent, both times), and that the Raleigh office had promised 11-1pm delivery window. Agent was confused by this, checked their records for a while, talked to her manager, and eventually got back to me to say the delivery window would be 11am-2pm. Thanked her, made sure this was correct and confirmed, and waited. Eventually the box arrived (?2:30? don't remember, but after 2pm) and an excellent driver/operator pair delivered it, set it up (was worried about the torn tarp covering that was falling off the door and held on only by duct-tape -- box appears worn out and vulnerable to rainwater leaking inside -- yikes! Driver explained situation (phone auto-transfers to other locations, entire system on 1 server--very slow for her while she was there) but was so helpful and amiable and knowlegeable; THIS employee pair is why UHaul is successful and keeps its good reputation! Phone system and online system needs improvement to match the service and expertise of these two Greensboro drivers that delivered the box.Jack T.

This is first time I've rented a storage unit and did so from U-Haul because when I reserved the truck on line I was happy to see storage facility existed in Greensboro and the first month would be free due to renting a truck. I reserved this mid April I believe, and on 4/20 when I was uploading info for truck rental, it was suggested I go ahead and pre-register or such for the storage unit. In doing so, I could skip the check in desk, and go right to my unit and a free lock would be included. I did this and still kept move in reservation for 4/25. When I arrived in Greensboro on 4/25 I discovered the unit was too small and Erin upgraded me to larger unit. She told me it was all good, I owed nothing and the first month would be free. Erin was very nice by the way. I moved my stuff in on 4/25 - I was not in Greensboro prior to this. Towards end of the week I got email stating I owed late fees. I stopped by UHaul on Saturday 5/1 and Erin said the computer system was down and another woman explained it was all good and they'd fix it for me when system was back up. That night I got voicemail saying system never came back up, check back tomorrow. Sunday 5/2 I went by again, I believe Eric as the guys name. He looked at my file in computer and saw what was going on and said it would be fixed, but it'd have to be done by a manager and he was leaving a note for the Monday manager to fix it. I started new job 5/3 and forgot to follow through. Today 5/4, I received a call from Jazmine explaining I needed to pay my balance. She got very hostile and loud with me and stated I actually rented the original unit on 4/20 and it didn't matter when I moved in. She said I was given a credit for switching to larger unit, but I still owed for the weeks I had other unit. I told her I only preregistered on 4/20 didn't actually take possession of the unit. She was not understanding, and got louder with me and said I had to pay. I told her I'd come by after work. I did stop by after work and was again told by Jazmine that I owed 53,95 - yet she could not fully explain to me why, even if I did actually rent the unit on 4/20, it hadn't been a month since then, plus the system shows my reservation was for 4/25. Jazmine became very loud like she did on the phone, but still could not explain it to me. I asked her to please not yell at me to which she replied she had been up and down the hill several time and had unloaded three trucks... non of that had to do with me. I believe she was frustrated because she could neither explain this charge to me nor convince me to just pay it. Because I'm in a temp rental for a bit longer, just started new job yesterday, I don't have the time to move my stuff out. I did pay the 53.95, but will be researching other storage facilities and will most likely be moving my stuff out before the next billing cycle. I did not receive my free month nor the lock I was to get for pre-registering for the unit online. Will not recommend u-haul storage to others. The whole thing really has the look/feel of a bait/switch.Kent B.

Trailer lights on the reserved auto transport trailer inoperable upon arrival to pick up equipment. U-Haul location only had two (2) auto transport trailers and the second trailer did not have a license plate. I was rented the trailer without a license plate. U-Haul employees attempted three times to correct the rental paperwork, but the rental system would not allow the appropriate changes. Notes were added to rental agreement to explain the renatl equipment situation. Overall it was a good trip. The U-Haul employees were courteous and helpful at the pick-up and drop off locations and there were no issues with rental equipment from point A to point to point B. My recommendation would be to ensure rental equipment is serviceable on the day the of reservation before customer arrives to pick up equipment.Eric H.

I went to this location 3 days prior to my rental need. I had a vehicle inspection for towing and was helped by the staff on what towing equipment to purchase. Problem began when I arrived on Friday morning for my reservation and was told to go to a different location....my reservation pick up location had changed. Annoyed, but went to new location. That location did not have the equipment we ordered. That vendor was very nice and called the original location. They had the trailer. We wasted 45 minutes due to faulty algorithms. Fortunately, I had the second location call the original location to make sure the equipment was available before we drove all over Greensboro looking for a trailer. Don't do this again.CAROLYN G.

If a customer is able to rent a truck for 24 hours for the same amount they can rent for 8 hours they should make the reservation for 24hours. You should ALWAYS offer the same thing you would want to receive.Hattela R.

Awesome awesome customer service. This is my second move with this location and I have had a great experience. The general manager went over and beyond accommodation when we had an unfortunate incident with our truck lock. He was courteous, responsive, and diligent in solving our problem. I am writing to commend the exceptional customer service extended by Sabrina of the Greensboro, NC site (West Friendly). I called on Monday March 15 asking that the UBox could be delivered on Tuesday March 16. She said "let me see if that can be done". She checked the schedule and stated that the box could be delivered in the afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised to meet her on Tuesday because she was the driver. Sabrina is professional, extremely pleasant and an asset to your organization. All other experiences with this Ubox rental were extremely negative (initial reservation, shipment and premature charging of the 980 $fee). Sabrina was a welcomed bright spot. I rated the location overall average because I only interacted with Sabrina and have no idea how the other parts of the location function.Deborah S.

My experience with this Uhaul location was horrible. Terrible. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I was told by the lady at the counter that they closed at 7:30pm. I got back at 7:13pm and there was someone checking in a truck so i pulled the uhaul truck right behind that one. The guy never came to check my truck in. Then i went to the door it was locked i knocked on the door and nobody came. I sat in my car and tried to do the self check in and my window browser was not working so i went back to the door and knock (mind you there was staff on the building... you could see them standing behind the counter waiting) a lady came to the door and said to try the browser again. I told her multiple times it did t work. I showed her on my phone that it didn't work. She didn't offer to help. Didn't offer to bring me in the store to check the truck in. Didn't offer anything. I got charged with a 20 $fee because by this time it was after store hours and when 7:30pm hit everybody came out the store and went to their cars and left! Didn't offer anything!!! Everything was fine until checkout. When I was ready to move out of the storage unit (August 17, 2020), I went to the front office to notify them. They said they just needed to do a walk through. I have receive numerous emails and statements in the mail where late fees were assessed. I have had to call 3 times to try to remind them I had already moved out. The loading dock was in need of some cleaning as there was a lot of water along the dock which also had an awful smell do trying to maneuver the carts through the area without your items getting wet and hoping not to drop anything that would fall into the water was a bit difficult. Not sure where the water came from but it covered the soles of our shoes and it hadn't rained so not sure what was going on with that but the dock smelled like vomit. The storage unit doesn't work. I have to have my truck turned in at 9 am. I came to put my sofa in the storage unit at 8:20 am, only to find the storage building denying my access, both with my swipe card and my access code. I was told by staff that the storage access doesn't always work, but this is of great inconvenience to me as a paying customer. I now have a large sofa in a truck and have to sit and wait. The process of moving into a new storage unit as a student was complicated and stressful. My information was entered in wrong and trying to contact someone about the errors was difficult. I have learned to never recommend any place, that is the reason I selected no. But, when I picked up the van, I had attempted to do the online part but that failed, and couldn't get a response online. The guy working the desk was creepy! Made weird comments about how I did things perfectly, the system was just acting up. He took a pic of my ID for some reason, never had that happen before. Couldn't tell if he did it with my credit card also. When I asked him about it he said he didn't do it. The guy had his volume turned up on the phone and I could clearly hear the picture taking sound. I have cancelled my credit card because of this and now concerned about my drivers license information being out that. I feel I need to get the redone. I am expecting u-haul to reimburse me for this expense and provide me with an explanation of why he is taking picture of my id and possibly my credit card.DAVID S. | Expérience générale

The Gentlemen that was helping was very nice, but able to help pick out a unit. His coworkers did not help him much. It took an hour to get a 10 x 10 and then they could not print a document that stated what we just did. Nice place but painful get a 10 x 10.
