My unit was accidentally locked (they locked the wrong unit for non payment) on Christmas Eve when I tried to access it to get my son's bike for Christmas. I had to go across the street to home depot to buy bolt cutters with my own money on Christmas eve and when I called the following Monday to be reimbursed for the bolt cutters and make sure the situation was amended Ebony Clark, the facilty manager was very rude and barley willing to allow uhaul to reimburse me for the bolt cutters (even asked me to drive across town for her to see my receipt for the bolt cutters instead of telling me that I could email her a copy of the reciept). After speaking to the regional manager he mentioned that Ebony did not handle my situation as directed. I couldn't believe that Ebony was the one I was told to call or is the one that anyone has to call when they experience an inconvenience with their units. Extremely rude and in my opinion untrustworthy ( I don't know how she's in charge of two facilities honestly). Due to my lack of trust having her as a facilty manager at the facility where my unit was, I moved my stuff out as soon as I could, won't be back, and will not recommend it to anyone I know.

As a CEO OF A MAJOR COMPANY IF ANY OF THE 2700 EMPLOYEES EVER TREAT A CUSTOMER IR CLIENT THE WAY I WAS TREATED BY THIS STAFF THEY WOULD BE FIRED INSTANTLY! MY WALLET WAS INSIDE A VREIF CASE I PLACED IN STORAGE WHICH CONTAINED ALL OF BANK CARDS, AND IDS AND Insurance CARDS. I WAS TRANSFERRING THE STORAGE UNIT INTO MY NAME WHEN ONE OF THE RUDE LADIES DECIDED it was there job to lock me out of the unit. I tried several times to explain to these ladies that my wallet was in the unit she stated and I quote " I don't care what you say your not getting in that unit, and if you don't leave right now I'll call the police and have you arrested and trespassed. I tried to explain without my wallet I couldn't pay the rent for the unit get a hotel or even eat. She didn't care and immediately demanded that I leave the premises. So I did .... I went online via a local library computer and attempted to contact the administration I got no where that was the first night walking around all night freezing, hungry, with no where to go and no money. The second day I approached the manager or mother and she began the same way as her daughter talking down to me like a child like she had the right. Total disrespect! Not a shred of care or concern from her she to demanding I leave it she would call the police. The moment is left she jumped up and locked the office door. I went back to the library and by this point my phone got shut off because I couldn't pay the phone 盧 so I borrowed someones phone who didnt have service and downloaded the TextNow app to make free calls. I decided to try and contacted the local regional office. When I called some lady finally listened to what I had to say and begin to inform the regional president of U-Haul. But the library closed and we had no wifi so once again I wondered the streets if Pinellas Park once again starving and freezing. I decided to give it one last shot before calling police or an attorney, I finally got through but the president of U-Haul was out of the office. I almost started to cry. Someone told me to follow them to the local Catholic church SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH OF PINELLAS PARK. WHEN I GOT THERE THEY WERE GIVING OUT FOOD AND CLOTHING. THESE LADIES LISTENED TO MY STORY AND WERE TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH WHAT WAS Happening TO ME. ALL OF THE LADIES WERE KIND AND CONCERNED, ONE LADY STATED HER HUSBAND WAS A JUDGE ABD WENT OFF TO CALL HIM TO SEE IF HE COULD ISSUE A COURT ORDER TO RELEASE MY PROPERTY. THIS NEVER HAPPENED FROM THERE I WENT TI PLEAD WITH THE BANK FOR I HAVE SEVERAL ACCOUNTS FOR BUSINESS AND PERSONAL USE. CHASE BANK HAS STRICT SECURITY GUIDELINES WITH NO ID NO MONEY. I WAS DISTRAUGHT I WAS EXTREMELY TIRED WITH NO WHERE TO GO NO CLOTHS JUST SOME FOID AND A BLANKET. I WENT BACK TO THE LIVRARY WHERE THE GUY WHO I BORROWED HIS PHONE WAS. HE STATED THAT THIS GUY KEPT CALLING AND I SHOULD CALL HIM BACK AT UHAUL. SO IM PREPARING TO MAKE THIS CALL, AND TRY TO KEEP MY COOL, WHEN THE PHONE RINGS IN MY HAND. I ANSWER AND A GENTLEMAN INTRODUCES HIMSELF AS MIKE FROM UHAUL. I ALMOST FELL OVER SUDEWAYS . AT THIS POINT I AM RAMBLING TTYING TO GET ALL MY INFORMATION AND WHATS HAPPENING OUT, WHEN HE TELLS ME TO STOP THAT HE ALREADY HEARD WHAT WAS HAPPENING SEVERAL TIMES. THEN HE SAID AND I QUOTE I HAVE TAKEN THE LOCK OFF THE UNIT AND HAVEN GUVEN YOU FULL ACCESS TO THE UNIT GET WHAT YOU NEED AND THAT WAS IT. THEY WERE THE GREATEST WORDS IVE HEARD IN YEARS ( EXCEPT MY WIFE WHO PASSED SAY " I do". I was stunned I wanted to start running to the storage unit to get my wallet and my belongings. I was rambling to my self the order in which I was going to do things first food then hotel and shower. No first hotel shower and then food it was like Christmas all over again. Finally as I entered the office I heard the manager on the speaker phone say keep him on camera and then the girl stated with a smirk on her face feeling better today! I felt like telling her off instead I held my ground and went to my unit and immediately emptied it I had no short plans to move my stuff and was not about leave anything in the unit. In fact I wanted nothing to do with these 2 people I simply wanted out of there. I began to give my property away, I couldn't carry it and had nowhere to put it. But as long as I had my wallet everything was replaceable. I gave thousands of dollars worth of personal property away. People were thinking I was crazy. I finally made it to a hotel after having my phone turned on and got clothes and food. I wasn't in the hotel room 2 minutes before I jumped in the shower and washed 3 days worth of grime off of me and 5 minutes after sitting on the bed I was asleep for 12 hours Never in my life have I ever been through such an ordeal. This should never have happened I missed 2 days of work, no food no sleep.

Spoke with Babette on the phone she spoke with someone on the phone that told her a 20 foot truck will fit a 10 x 10 x 10 space. I drive up to the spot after hours to unload, and the space obviously would not fit the items. Called the Uhaul customer service number to find another space and apparently the closest 10 x 20 space was 36 minutes from where I live. This forced me to have the truck longer than expected, added more mileage, and wasted more gas. The location 36 minutes away (with bridge tolls) could not honor the Free month move it, so now there was no point to store with Uhaul but I had no time to look around for a place closer because I now have to hold the truck longer than expected. My money is very tight after this move and the truck needed to be returned so I would get charged more money for it. I really could have used the free month storage. So now the next day I have to call back the Park Blvd location to cancel the 10 x 10 x 10 I couldnt use. I spoke with a Tasha (or Tanya, or some name like that) she told me she was the one that spoke with Babette and told her whatever information she told her, she spoke loud enough so I could hear her over the phone talk to Babette and tell her the wrong information, however when I was trying to explain all this to her over the phone she cut me off and sounded like she was more concerned about being right then just trying to get me through the process. Again I don't have time on my hands to deal with all of this so I just glazed over all of that so I could cancel my order. She did come off rude at first, I don't understand people down here this isn't the first time I've had to deal with this. Babette was very friendly when I spoke with her the day before. The location I was forced to store at has their own trucks and I made sure to ask them how to funnel the money directly to them and away from U-Haul. I am not using U-Haul in the future and I'm not telling my friends to use U-Haul. They are the McDonald's of storage and moving and this whole process has been such a headache and a let down dealing either their business.

I asked her if she could call him back and then she got mad. I asked to talk to Ebony Clark the general manager and she was real snappy and rude over the phone when I asked a question she would say what part of the sentence don't you understand! I've been at that storage place in Pinellas Park for 20 years I was a good customer and they treated me terrible!

When we went to the customer service office to sign the paperwork, we were told "I cannot do that, you'll have to come back tomorrow." When we came back the next day we were basically told the same thing and then handed a card to call Ebony. Ebony was very nice and did her best to help us out, but there were apparently no units available of the option we reserved about 2-4 weeks prior and were only able to get another unit that didn't fit our needs as well and costs an additional $20/month. Not Ebony's fault, but a really poor experience after moving and having no choice but to pay more, etc

The next day, the day of move-in, no U-Haul employee was on-site when we arrived to move in. The office was locked. We called the number on the office door and was on hold for 20 minutes. After several attempts to do online move-in, I was finally able to check in and gain access. Very frustrating.

When I arrived to the location they didn't have the right sized truck and the desk agent informed me I did not have a reservation so all of this put me three hrs behind schedule. After finally getting into the right truck size (at another location) they gave me a wobbly UHaul where the back end swerved if you drove close to 40mph. I almost swiped two vehicles. Overall I got my moving done but this experience was a major headache.

Donald J.Used UHaul storage for about 1,5 years and price increased two times. Never complained but when we were moving out I saw damage. Water leaked in unit, damaged a lot of furniture and other personal stuff. Paid extra for climate controlled unit and it didn't feel too much different from outside temperatures. Tried checking out of unit but sign on door said to go to another location. No point of checking out at a different store front so I tried calling the other location about five times. Eventually, after being on hold a customer service rep would answer. Service was below standard to terrible. Got passed around from agent to agent and on hold off and on for over an hour. Finally, about the 4th or 5th agent said he had a solution and I could checkout online. Would have been helpful if the first person could have given me that information. I don't plan on using this location or a storage unit from uHaul again.
Kalee M. | Expérience généraleReserved this ahead and got a call a day before the move; stating that there was no equipment at the location I needed. I do not have a vehicle of my own and I'm moving solo. So, the location had to be changed. They didn't have the van I requested. So, I had to make do with the 10 foot truck. They also didn't have the dolly I requested. So, I had to lug heavy items up and down stairs with a heavier appliance dolly. The best part of this experience was the lovely lady behind the counter who did everything she could to make my move a possibility. Not only does moving make me nervous but handling things that don't belong to me, sets me on edge as well; not to mention, driving a big vehicle where I can't look through a rear view mirror. She was the shining moment of this experience and gave me a big sigh of relief, when she walked me through everything I needed to know. Five stars to her! She deserves a raise!

Even though i pre-prepared well in advance, at one point the app asked me for some surprise information that wasn't included in the orientation/ pre-checkout instructions so it wasted a lot of time for me to get that info. Better pre-checkout instructions would be helpful, but overall the process did work and i was able to checkout the equipment earlier than the store hours.

Michelle K.The unit was perfect - easy access and I was in/out a lot over the past few years. It's unfortunate the ingress/egress is so challenging due to the one driveway and high traffic area. Really had to plan the approach with traffic flow. Bathroom was appreciated, but quite gross and messy at times. Never saw staff much when there - door was often locked, including during what I thought to be normal business hours, but really wasn't paying much attention - just noticed when people were trying to access from outside of the gate. I enjoyed my time there. If I hadn't moved, I would still be a client.

Now I am paying more for a larger unit, I didnt need a larger unit. I needed a 10x10. Is it really first come first serve? So you book as many as possible knowing that that size unit may not be available when a customer shows up at the location and the appointed time? Bait and switch? Not happy that I am paying more for a larger size that I didnt need. Of course you knew I had few choices when I show up with a truck to unload.
James R. | Premières impressionsOK originally me and my crew were loving the U-Haul and the help that we were receiving (at FIRST). however, when we called to extend our truck for a second day we were told that we qualified for a month of free storage as well (awesome!) so we booked the storage unit for the first floor and then the next day when we go to drop off the truck we literally cannot access our storage unit whatsoever (through the website or ANYTHING????) and there is literally no help on the grounds and no help on the phones and of course the system happened to be down everywhere that day. then, U-Haul tells us that we can return a truck the next day free of charge and they would figure out our storage issue (again, awesome!) THEN, The next day the woman on the phone is telling us that she has no records of the storage unit we booked and has to book us another one. I ask if she has one on the first floor and she says yes. THEN, we are told later on, YET AGAIN, that records of our storage unit booked cannot be found AND WE HAVE TO BOOK IT AGAIN FOR A THIRS (THIRD!!!!!) TIME but now there is no available units on the 1st floor (and we have large furniture) and we have to LUG ALL OF OUR STUFF ONTO AN ELEVATOR TO THE SECOND FLOOR AND I HAVE ASTHMA. at this point I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS. LITERALLY THEE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN HISTORY. Look elsewhere for your moving needs, I don't see uhaul being around much longer if this is their deranged idea of "Customer Service" the free storage turned out to be a MIGRAINE of issues that was way more trouble than it was worth & I would've told them to shove the "free storage" option if I knew that. the only ONLY sliver of okayness was the dude at the location we dropped everything off in was able to keep his cool when me and my boyfriend were rightfully angry about this atrocious experience.

ZAHRA J. | Premières impressionsI was very disappointed. I had a 10x20 storage unit reserved. When I arrived to the office, I was told there were no 10x20 available, only 10x15. Unfortunately, we were in a position where we had to take what was offered and now are struggling as to what to do with our remaining storage because another unit will put us over budget. Extremely disappointed in that. It's a nice facility but not honoring a reservation looks really bad.

James L.I am giving an average on our experience mainly because of when we first arrived to UHaul Storage. We had a reservation for the unit but when we got there, no one was in the office, even though the hours posted said someone should have been there. After sitting on hold for 30 minutes, we ended up having to go to the UHaul rental place about 5 miles away to get the code and unit number for our storage. We were told that they did not have enough employees to staff the office on that Sunday. I told them if that was the case, then a sign should have been posted or I should have been contacted about it. It was quite annoying after driving with the trailer for 5 hours to find this to be the norm we were told. Merci.

joseph s. | Online Move InCollection processes surely violate fair debt collection practices. Office would call multiple times day payment was due. Not past due. even though we had a history of timely payment. Many times just hang up and not leave messages. I complained about this at one point and asked manager to call me but that person never did.
Leslie S. | Expérience généraleHad a bit of a hard time finding a taxi to get back to my new townhome 9 miles away from this drop-off location since there were no Uber drivers anywhere nearby who would come pick me up. Recommend this location find and work with a local Uber driver or private taxi company to set up some kind of an arrangement, perhaps with U-Hauls online system, so those like me who drop-off a one-way rental truck don't have to wait an hour for a ride back to their new home. Other than that inconvenience, the receptionist here (Liz) was very friendly and the drop-off experience was smooth and easy, and she sent me my closed out rental contract via e-mail within 30 minutes after checking my drop-off truck for damages (none), mileage, and fuel tank level. I was also real happy with my pick-up location service in Pinellas Park, FL 90 miles north.
