"computer glitch" kept me at the counter trying to check in for 45 minutes. Clerk was doing a great job, he was on the phone with the help desk for 45 minutes trying to resolve. I had a reservation and trailer was there but couldn't assign it to me. Line of people backed up out the door, I felt bad for the clerk who was doing their best.ROLLIN K.

As usual, the customer service is terrific. Two things that could improve, the wait in line sometimes is awful, hour times two hours sometimes. And the other is the storage rentals are not prorated. It's not always easy to move out just before the rent is due.Kim C.
Nothing really . I was informed all steps of the way and was able to be kept up to date through the website including billing and invoicing. So a very positive experience. A shame the only fly in the ointment was Drop City Movers trying to tell me I have 1 1/2 hours to unload before pick up. I see a lot of negative reviews on them otherwise a stress free process. I am disappointed with rental . I was charged for whole month rental eventhough I had box for just 7 days. I was told by customer service representative box will be charged for whole month even if I keep for 1 day or 30 days. This should be spelled out , I did not see on FAQ's either. I showed up at the location for a moving truck since my storage unit was there. I was told that there were no trucks available until Thursday leaving me in a bind. I called another location while waiting at this location and got a call back an hour later advising a truck was available at this location. Unacceptable service.Ray M.
Slightly concerned by the tyre sensor , which showed no air in front right tyre, but tyre was fine. Would have been nice to have been told it was OK, as delayed start while I checked it out. Staff were very helpful tho, and the time they took to explain the hire process and drop off was nice.tim R.

After an aggravating experience with your Brainard Rd Hartford, CT, Charles Kinard at your Plainville location was delightful to deal with and very knowledgeable with the equipment I rented. I would drive 25 minutes out of my way to get the service I got from Charles any day of the week. Your Hartford location staff needs to be retrained to provide better service to your customers. Not only were they trying to rent me a faulty equipment with a stick landing gearâ€¦it had exposed wires that could've caused a short and given me fairly new truck electrical issues. This auto transport should've been inspected before even being considered for rent. Instead there was a male staff trying to pry the landing gear down and it also was leaking brake fluid. That's when I told them that this equipment was not road safe and they finally agreed.Arnaldo C.

We do a have a complaint. We made a reservation online for a storage unit and truck. We planned our move based on what we reserved. Come to find out, it doesn't matter if you make a reservation because it isn't held. I don't understand why Uhaul does this. We were forced to rent 2 smaller units in an outdoor area. If we knew this was the case, we would have stored elsewhere. The company needs to change their reservation policy.Chad C.

Picked the truck up with just under 1/4 tank of gas. Returned it with just under 1/4 tank of gas. Told the guy who received the truck that it's just under 1/4, because that's how I picked it up. He said â€œok that's fineâ€. My receipt said the truck was returned with 1/4 tank of gas, yet you charged me $10,2 for 2 gallons of fuel? Also your hand truck rolled was loose and unattached to the clamp in the back of the truck yet the clamp was sealed closed with your green plastic tag. So I had to break the tag to open the clamp to secure the hand truck back in its place so it didn't bang around and damage my stuff. I got charged $5 for 1/2 dozen moving pads and I forgot to take my moving pads (admittedly my fault). Don't even get me started about how long I had to wait on the phone and in your Plainville CT location. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with my experience and was charged $15,2 extra that I shouldn't have been charged. I don't think I would recommend UHaul to anyone I know. Enterprise, Penske and Home Depot are better values and better experiences. Please advise.DAN B.
Employee that was helping me did not explain too much about how to get to the unit, she highlighted where it was, map is very confusing. She super quickly mentioned the what 1 and 2 was on clicker. Also, she was attending to other customers instead of helping me finish with my transaction. It just seemed like she was trying to speed through helping customers and was not polite. the screen load/processing times seem like they were one of the larger contributors to the size of the line that I had to wait in. When I got to the counter that afternoon, both people were commenting how slow the computers had been all day. A small investment in some faster machines and/or network speed may help a lot.Stephen C.

Terrible experience I will never go back or recommend. I would rather pay more with another company . I was over charged for gas fill up when I did not travel that far. It basic math the gallons they charged me did not add up with your policy and miles I traveled . I was scammed , I returned to the store to deal with a employee who had no idea what she was talking about. She could not even comprehend basic math with gallons and miles , she couldn't explain the policy . I was going by what U-Haul states in the booklet that was given to me . I asked to speak with a manager I was declined that . I also tried call the call center for customer service and did not get hold of anyone . This company is simply trash.Anel S.

The uhaul app for checking the vehicle in did not work for me or the person behind me. After a 12hour day of driving and moving, It was frustrating and time consuming to determine that it was the app. However, having returned a vehicle successfully before using the app, I took pictures of everything to email them should they be needed. I was over charged by almost 150$. My bill was suppose to be 160$ with the mileage I used I get back home and see I was charged 300$. The truck was given to me on a 1/8 tank of gas and I even returned it on a 1/4. Who leaves an 1/8th tank of gas? Nobody is trying to pick up a truck then find a gas station. On top of all of this when I tried contacting customer service I was on hold for a combined 2 HOURS and never spoke to one person, so how could I even let them know to get my money back? Along with this I rented a truck just to get there to find out the lights didn't work on a brand new truck. They gave me a box truck instead and that only had two seatsâ€¦ I had three people. Everybody I interacted with, whether it was renting the van or renting the storage unit, everybody was so kind and helpful. I am currently on crutches and the girl (Elisia) who helped me gave me a unit that was close by so I didn't have to walk or move too far. Continue to steal money from me at each visit. They provide a vehicle without a full gas tank and upon returning it at the same spot on the gas meter, they stick in a couple of gallons and charge for itâ€¦. Subjective call rightâ€¦ great scam â€¦ done with that placeâ€¦ so is the rest of my family! Also, this place seems to value busy work over customer service as there were 5 people in line when I was there and one repâ€¦. The other was sitting on the computer doing somethingâ€¦. If I were manager I would say that the customer comes first! Moreâ€¦. When I returned the truck I had to search for someone to return it toâ€¦ when i did, I was told to just leave the keys in the ignition ..thus setting up the perfect situation for the gas scamâ€¦. I entered the Uhaul location and saw a young lady out side and she was talking closely with a guy. I was not sure she worked there as they looked like a couple. However she did work there and did not say hi when I passed by or anything. No problem. I went in and stood in-line behind some other customer and she eventually called me over. I spoke first and said how are you and then she said she was doing ok. Still no problem, She checked me in and I asked for the rolling base that was cover by carpet as I wanted it to put my bins on. She said that there was none on it. I asked if she could add it as when I moved from PA 2 years ago I have a dolly and the carpet thing with wheels and left it with them there. She told me no, her manager changed the rules and equipment does not go out with a truck if it is going somewhere else. 1st problem So now I have nothing to move my belongings out of my apartment. She checked me out and then handed me the Keys and said these numbers are on your truck and it is over there, you can go find it. 3rd problem That has never happened to me plus no one was there and she could have come outside as she was outside before talking to that guy. Plus I got no lock to lock the truck and my coworkers told me they get locks all the time with their Uhaul. 3rd problem Equipment was clean but it was not sturdy when driving. It was wobbly and would not stay straight on the road.Shay N.
The truck broke down after I filled the gas to return it. I was literally across the street and had to wait for roadside assistance to jump the truck. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't optimal. The battery must've been going for a while. A little preventative maintenence might be nice so your customers aren't inconvenienced with problems that didn't even need to happenCarrie C.

So the lady checking me in for the account wasnt sure how to do a cooperate rental. So it took her very long time. She then after 20 tries asked for help. She wasnt doing something correct. She never appolgised for having me wait or anything. The truck had a problem with the key starting. The key had to be in a certain position to start which was very frustrating. I think the dealer or locksmith would be able to fix then. After returning the truck i received a charge for a small amount of dust that may have fell out of the lawn mower while moving. I have rented from the location many times in the past. But I think moving forward I will pass on this location.Kareem P.

The truck had a good sized oil leak. Drove it around 30 miles had to put a half a quart of oil in when refueling. Smelled like burning oil when driving. I think with 115000 miles it needed a seal change on the valve covers.Mark K.
Hopefully everyone was OK. The building was on fire and the property blocked off by fire trucks. Made returning difficult. I get it, emergency. But your employees could have been more helpful than. I reserved a 12'x10' unit. I showed up on move-in day to find out that I don't have a space. The staff were rude and told me that a reservation means nothing and that the U-Haul website only shows customers what they want to see but in fact isn't true. I ended up taking an 8'x10' because that's all they had and when I opened the unit there was a column in the middle of the unit. I reserved a 10x15 indoor space thru the website a month ago. Yesterday I went to the facility to get access to the storage space but was told by the girl at the counter that there were no 10x15's available and that the website booked too many reservations for the amount of spaces of that size available. Not my problem but the clerks didn't care. I tried to reason with the manager but she was very rude and obnoxious to me and didn't care that I was unhappy or dissatisfied. I had no choice but to accept a 10x10 space instead which worked out fine. I moved in today but there were a couple of other groups moving in to theirs also but there are only four carts/dollies available. Not nearly enough for the total number of spaces available. If that's not enough, the floor plan diagram on the wall indicates two elevators side by side and an adjacent restroom but there is only one elevator and no restroom because it is actually a storage space. UHAUL YOU NEED A SECOND ELEVATOR IN THIS HUGE FACILITY! This facility is new, very clean and plenty of storage spaces but crappy, unprofessional and unfriendly customer service staff and insufficient amenities made this a very unpleasant experience.Jeffrey P. | Premières impressions

Please add flatbed trucks. Mattress trucks are not helpful to move most items. Please reopen the second turnaround by the rear restroom. There is too much traffic on weekends and that space is needed for loading and unloading. Staff are very helpful at this facility.Eugene M. | Expérience générale

So I had to pay a crew to come out again the next day and bring my belongings. But it's a nice storage unit,the price is reasonable and it's very clean.
