We set a reservation time at 10am with UHaul. When we arrived we had to wait in a 15 min line from only one person working. Once through the line the box was not ready so someone had to go retrieve it. After waiting for an hour and a half we had to press where the box was. They informed us to go around back and find the guy working. Upon going there we found no one and then we someone did show up they yelled at us for being back there but were not able to help retrieve our box either. After 2 hours we were late for an appointment so we were forced to leave without having our stuff. The reservation system is completely pointless if the box is not staged for it. We had a very similar experience when we loaded the box in CT. Apparently UBox is a very poorly treated service in UHaul which I will strongly recommend people NEVER choose.

Very knowledgeable and helpful employees. Everyone was polite respectfully and honest. The guy who helped me choose the right option saved me a few bucks and that's very appreciated. Alot of times companies train their employees to help the customer spend more but not here. This is why I will always use U-haul for moving or if I just need to get furniture home. Thanks for being such a great company!!!!

Good location and friendly staff when I picked up the vehicle. 1. I did not like the vehicle's performance. My brother rented 2 uhauls before and they performed better - handling, steering, and engine. The vehicle that I had is worse than driving a rear wheel drive car with no traction control with all season tires in wet snow. 2. I was assisted by an employee when I dropped the vehicle by 7:40ish, i told him i will come back i just had to refuel the truck. I went back by 8pm exactly, which is the closing but he did not assist me. I would understand if I arrived by 8pm on the first time... but he previously assited me and I told him I will just get gas. Got there by 8pm. So what I did was returned the vehicle online. Still annoying because I still waited if he'll come out but no.

I was told to rent the van that is worth 19.99 and return it to the same location so that I can save money-even though I told the clerk I would be driving to about 18 miles out. I wish I was told to just drive back the van to the nearest location. What was originally supposed to cost me $20 ended up costing be $60. I will never rent from U-Haul again.

Check in process was 30 mins -that’s too long -for having a reservation - then we had to find our truck out in the lot , it was not up front waiting for us & no one was available to help us with that, Check out process on my phone did not work, for some reason my phone would not send the location of the truck -which is the 1st step of the process - so I was unable to complete the check out process using my mobile device. Left keys & contract in the box and received my invoice the next day via email. Bathroom facility in the U-Haul location was filthy.

long wait for van day of pick up. first van had tire light on and second van door wouldn’t shut to turn off back light. asked to return a few hour after return time, they said have it back by 5 and charged me for the full day plus the $11 fee. If i had known that i would have requested to keep it to the next day. I also put in ¼ tank more of gas than needed because i wasn’t given updated paper work when they switched trucks for the tire light. I will never rent from here again.

The first truck i was give had the driver side visor ripped off and the passenger side what broken... i went back in and requested another truck which i was given but i lost another 1/2 hour in the process. I was not happy as the trucks should be fully operational.

I rented a u-haul for 4-hrs, but lost an hour waiting in line to pick it up. When it was my turn I was told they dispatched it out to someone else because I supposedly wasn’t there.. The manager took good care of me in that he was able to get me another rental. They are either terribly short-staffed on Saturdays, or maybe their computer systems are slow, or the process to check out needs to be changed. I booked on line, downloaded my license and thought this would be a quick process. I had people waiting for me to help me move. It made for a rough start to a long, hot & humid day. When I returned the rental, I sat in it for about 10-minutes before someone came out. I felt bad for the employees. They seemed to be doing their best and were pleasant, but something in the check in process held things up beyond an acceptable amount of time a customer should have to wait.

I wound up having to rent this motorcycle trailer which was too small for my bikes a Yamaha VMax and a Harley Davidson 1200 Sportser. The sales person felt they would fit. After renting the trailer I found out that the bikes would not fit. Because it was after 7 and I could not return the trailer I wound up stuck with the rental on this trailer and had to go to Orange to get another trailer before they closed. This doubled the cost of renting a trailer not to mention the anxiety of racing to the Orange UHaul to get another trailer to save my short vacation or the hassle of returning two trailers at the completion of our trip.

The team tried to charge me $17 for fuel when I brought it back on a half tank! They also didn’t refund me for a day when I returned it a whole day early. In addition I never used the blankets or dolly and they charged me for that. I may never use U-Haul again.

I never received a call when my vehicle was done. It was supposed to take two hours and five hours later I went back to get my car after not hearing from anyone. Hitch was put on crooked. I call to let them know to fix it and left a message. I never received a call back.

Where do I start. I was told my appointment would be 3 hours, but it was 4. After 4 hours, they put the hitch on without a ball. Don't worry, they charged me for the ball. I come back and ask about it and they just sighed in embarrassment and left to go put it on without saying anything to me. I said to the clerk, "So they forgot to put the ball on?" And she said, "I don't know, probably." This was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I was already warned not to go to UHAUL for anything, but I had already booked the appointment. I will never use UHAUL again.

The person who took rented me the trailer was nice and welcoming. He explained everything, though there seemed to be the distinct odor old alcoholic beverages permeating from him. He asked 2 gentleman to get my trailer ready and provided them the trailer number. They set up the trailer for me.

Please make sure that there’s gas in the truck. When I picked up the rental, it only had 1/16th of a tank. It doesn’t matter if the last renter left it there, it shouldn’t be so low when it is being sent out.

Have the associates trained in charging Customers appropriately. The guy at the equipment return line name Jacharri didn’t even checked the gas gage. After that when he gave me the total charge, I told him it was wrong because the rental charge should be $29.99, not $59.99. Then changed his statement saying that the overcharge is because of the $.99/miles charge rather than $.89/ mile. I went inside their office and the bill was $60 less than what he was insisting on. I spoke to the person in-charge and she said that he was new. What an excuse!!

I put the gas EXACTLY back where it was when I started. Now I'm being charged $18 for more gas. I put $12 in right before returning it. So that's $30 in gas to travel 37 miles.? I get the truck doesn't get good gas mileage. But a little over a mile per gallon.

I am extremely frustrated with the fact that I have to pay extra due to a clerical issue on this branch’s end. The odometer rating on the truck’s rental agreement read : 45897.0 mi. I picked up the rental at 7:17pm. Thirteen minutes into the trip I noticed the odometer read: 45938. In that thirteen minute span of time I had driven from plainville to Berlin (I have time stamped photos). How could I have possibly driven 41 mi in 13 min???? That would mean I was going at a rate of 189MPH and 3.16 mi a minute. So when I noticed this at 730, I called over to the U-Haul facility which was open. They decided not to answer the phone. So to further my frustration, I decided not to even use the truck for the full time, nor did I drive the 50 mi I requested. Instead I did one load went to the gas station in put 2 gal of gas in the truck and returned it. The 2 gal filled the truck past the 11/16th mark. This further proves the fact that, I didn’t drive the 41 extra miles I’m being charged for. The next morning I called and spoke to the Manager. The Manager was nice, but he preceded to tell me, “that even though it was their computer error, that it was me, as the customer, my responsibility to check the truck”. How can this be? How can it be the customers fault they messed up? Next the Manager preceded to tell me to come in and prove everything and he’ll review my contract with me. I’m sorry, but I’m a busy person who just moved. The last thing I need to do is go into a U-Haul branch and argue about over-charges. In the past I’ve been very satisfied with U-Haul’s service and commitment to customers. After this experience, I do not believe this is the case anymore.

The location is one I would not have gone to had my trailer been 40 miles closer to me. This was the only location that had a 4-foot trailer. That said. This is a very nice location. Perhaps the nicest I've been to in the USA. Wide. Open. Very clean. Very wide, available parking. I did have to wait several minutes for somebody to show up at the empty counter. And the woman working in didn't seem to be having a very good day that day. But the guy who hooked up my trailer made up for that. He clearly was having a good day.

When I rented the truck I was presented paperwork to sign that said the tank was full of gas. When I went out to the truck there was less than 3/4 of a tank of gas. The employees response was that I should send a picture to U-Haul.com. Instead of putting this burden on the customer, your employees should correct their own mistakes.

The pickup I rented smelled horribly of smoke, it was gross. The manager at the Plainville CT location was extremely friendly and nice. Actually everyone that worked there was nice, the check out girl, young guy who was on duty when I returned the truck (his 1st day)... service was excellent. Indoor facility seems pretty secure. Outdoor area has a gap in its fenced in area. Staff friendly and helpful for the most part. Manager fell short on a couple different occasions not following up.
