Manager and associates are very crude and unprofessional to customers. I will never do business with this horrible place again. Manager never called me regarding my Uhaul box truck rental and blatantly lied to my face saying she had called. I have proof from my phone records that no call existed. We drove 40 minutes just to be told she gave my rental to someone else. She wasted our valuable time and put a wrench in our plans. My son was spoken to inappropriately and unprofessionally on several occasions and was harassed by her and another associate when he went to his storage unit. Scheduling of rentals is definitely sub standard and needs immediate attention. REMEMBER THE CUSTOMER ALWAYS COMES FIRST !! This is something they do not practice.Denise B. | Expérience générale
The property is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff for the most part are extremely friendly and helpful. The only 2 not so great things are firstly the price. I have two other storage units at different facilities one of which is twice the size of the one I had at uhaul but is a self contained unit and the other is slightly smaller but is indoors in a climate controlled facility and both are less expensive. While the hours for the facility do make up for price slightly the location kind of nullifies the added hours of convenience. The second issue I had was that I had to purchase a lock from uhaul to secure the unit prior to putting anything in it. After reserving and then paying for the unit I was told if I didn't immediately put a lock on the unit that it wasn't actually mine and could be rented to someone else while I left to run home and get my lock. Obviously I didn't want to lose the money I had just spent on that unit so I had to make a second transaction for a lock which really irritated me. Those two small things were my only issues. As I stated the person who assisted me when I initially rented the unit and the person who closed my unit out were phenomenal. On a previous visit to the uhaul location I was able to work with the owner and she was phenomenal! She was super helpful with my moving process and even sold me on the idea of getting a storage unit at this location. Unfortunately due to a car accident I was never able to fill my unit. I also ended up having to pay an additional month for the empty unit as I was unable to get out to the location and complete the necessary paperwork to close the unit. Overall if this is the only location available for storage units or if you are going to need to make regular trips to this location for truck rentals or moving supplies this option is great!Jennifer S. | Premières impressions

Scheduled pick up time was 230. Took almost 30 minutes to get through pick up which wouldn't be entirely bothersome if I was made to pay for their staffing issues by having less time with my rental. If they're unprepared for you they should make adjustments to your drop off time.JACQUELYN S.
Find a different person that has to communicate with customers. Your gentleman that works at the desk on west housatonic street in Pittsfield mass is very rude and a very hostile person to customers. I was very displeased with the way he spoke to me and his whole demeanor was terrible. He threatened to put in a stolen vehicle report due to me being told my reservation extension was all set but apparently it wasn't. He definitely should not be dealing with customers!!BARRY D.
I made a reservation online. Then I went to pick up and the amount of time it took to pickup the trailer seemed a little excessive. If I make the reservation online I should have minimal interaction at the pick up facility. Instead I had to wait in line behind people that had no clue what they were doing or wanted, then wait for them to find my reservation, then send me a text with a link to scan my ID, then wait for that to process, and the rest of the process. Which took far too long for having an online reservation. Also the fact that it costs double to do a one-way trailer rental seems a bit ridiculous.CHRISTOPHER K.

Been renting a spot out back for my boat for a few years now and again for this winter. And also rented a spot for my RV. Perfect place to store these with perimeter fencing, cameras, smooth parking lot, and security gate, couldn't be better. All the staff is professional and friendly. Excellent experience!! The only concern was the funky smell of cleaner used inside the van. I would suggest switching to plant-based cleaners inside as many people are sensitive. My girlfriend had an adverse allergy-type reaction where we had to leave windows open the whole time.ROBERT D.

We rented the unit online with an online move in so we assumed everything would be ready to go. The first time we went was during business hours and we put in our code at the keypad, it welcomed us, when we got to the unit the alarm still went off when we opened it. Then we came after hours (around 730pm) and used our code on the keypad only to see that the code didn't work to open the door. Another person there said we needed a card? We never got a card and this defeats the purpose of the online move in. We put our code into 3 different keypads that night and they all welcomed us and told us we were checked in but wouldn't open the door. We piggybacked with another group and the alarm went off the entire time we were in our unit. I am not sure why it's billed as online check in and online move in when you cannot access the building with the code provided. Fantastic experience other than.Danielle V. | Online Move In

Customer service is horrible. I stood in line for at least 30 minutes. The guys at the counter wouldn't even acknowledge my presence and 2 customers cut in line in front of me. A third one was about to cut in front of me until I yelled, â€œHey, I've been standing here for 30 minutes.â€ None of the employees wore masks, or if they did, they wore them under their chins. And what I found most appalling was that one of the desk workersâ€"a big burly guy with a buzz cut and lots of tattoosâ€"was joking about the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitolâ€"totally inappropriate!!Amy C.

The staff was professional, efficient and friendly making this hitch installation a breeze. The only improvement I can suggest is an update of your computer operating system. The only thing that marred a great experience was the check in and check out. It took almost as long to do the paperwork as it did to install the hitch. Van was in need of service/oil change according to lights. When returned after using the vehicle for 15 miles was told that I had somehow consumed approximately 5 gallons of gasoline. Person argued that the tank had been full when I clearly photographed that it was not. Basically argued with me and then charged me over 20 $for gasoline. Absolutely horrible service.Don S.

I was unable to check in when returning the truck because the U-Haul website server kept timing out. Therefore I was charged the 20 $even though I returned the truck on time. It would be nice if there was another way to return a vehicle and prove that you were there that didn't involve using a phone.Judith E.

I wish I was able to return the truck to a closer Uhaul location. There are two dealers within a couple miles of me and I had to drive it over twenty miles to return to same location, being charged for that mileage.KEITH B.
Truck was due for oil change( message on dashboard. I was not instructed to inspect vehicle by the attendant before using. I received a text as i was driving out of the lot to make sure to inspect vehicle before using,KATHLEEN B.
Honestly very clean unit. I had no issues with mice or anything which I was very worried about but when I was moving out I didn't see a single sign of any. They have dollys you can use which were VERY helpful. Loading docks which were great for the day it was pouring and I decided to move more things. And the staff were always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone. It is a little pricey but it was one of the least expensive units I found and I had a great experience here so it was well worth the money for peace of mind.Kelly C. | Expérience générale

The service at the PIttsfield Massachussetts location is stellar. Great customer service for employees that look like are doing five different functions at once......checking in customers...answering phones, checking truck and storage units, selling boxes and to top it off cleaning and fueling trucks and units!!! At 7 AM the day I was to return the van, today 8/17/21, I was unable to use my phone to return the van because the uhaul.com/share site on my phone would not allow my location, West Housatonic St, Pittsfield, MA to be seen even when my setting was set properly allowing my location turned on to be seen. Thankfully I was able to go when an employee was there to take my key and check me out. Using my phone to return the vehicle did not work from your site. She tried it too.CATHERINE S.
I experienced a lot of, â€œit's not my fault, that's not our part, that's just how initial appointments are set up. â€œ if someone orders a hitch install service please inform them that the appointment sent on the receipt is temporary or not even accurate. Also, work with your customer on where to place the six way harness plug in a reasonable location for the situation. I would appreciate not being argued with that my plug is not their problem. If you're installing a hitch, they likely come with some kind of brake control to mount and should be a part of the hitch install service. Thank you for at least taking off the labor on removing the old hitch to compensate for having to bring my family with three young children back to your center the second time early in the morning cutting their sleep short in making the rest of the day miserable.Eric K.
Generally, the service was OK. At pickup, the truck smelled like cigarette smoke (I later found a pack of cigarettes under the seat in the cab as well as a bag of dirty women's clothes) and the check engine light was on. The manager at the location told me that she looked into the check engine light and not to worry about it. She turned the light off, but it came back on a short time later in my cross-country move. I also had to move my truck several times for the convenience of the uhaul employees to get other items (pads and dolly) into truck -- only to then have them tell me to load those items into my own truck so I could get it out of the way for a tech who was attaching a trailer hitch to someone else's vehicle. Ultimately, I think this location was just understaffed and led to some of these issues.Nelson L.

When I returned my pickup truck yesterday morning, I had to deal with a very, very rude employee named David. I told him I was having a problem entering the odometer reading into the mobile app to finish the return process. At the front desk he took the keys from me and said "I will fix it later. You're done." I said done? How much is my final bill? He stormed out of the building and went to my truck, checking things I assume. Slamming doors, etc, etc. You might need to remind David about being in a service position and correct customer service. Representing UHaul yesterday, he came across as someone who was seeing a customer as a nusiance and deserved shoddy treatment. Won't bring my business to your location ever again. Jill M. Not everyone can do everything on a phone you should Be able to rent with out a phone also your employees should go out with you to inspect the truck tire light was on when I got the truck I didn't know I should of went back in to tell them. I just don't think the service is friendly to the customers I was afraid to drive the truck the man had me check the truck out I think they should have to go with the customer and he could of answer any questions I had. This was by far one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. It was easy to reserve my storage unit online and the gentleman (I wish had gotten his name!) at the facility was above and beyond helpful. This place is enormous and he took the time to show me exactly where the unit is as well as explain all the security features and amenities provided. Too many issues to count. One of which being that uhaul received a double payment (one online, one in person) and only applied one of those payments to my account. No exaggeration: 6+ hours on the phone to resolve and 3 in person visits. Only resolution was a refund. No customer service. Workers are rude and combative. I made reservations weeks in advanced that meant absolutely nothing!!!! I was suppose to get a 10X10x8 on first level. Never happened, not good for my heart condition, but manage cause i had to. Also, ended up paying 5 $a month for the unit I did get w/a huge pole in it. Also, tried to extend my uhual rental and that was a joke. Your phone system S****. Van was disgustingly dirty. Overall the experience was easy, and UHaul had a system and dollies that made the move easy into the storage facility. We were also able to return our Uhaul rental from another facility, which was convenient. I would give 5 stars, but they did not have the storage size unit I reserved/requested and had to pay 10 $more/month than agreed upon during reservation.
