Appreciated to promise the best service by U-Haul since from Washington DC when my boyfriend Anthony "Tony" Williams and me rented a hitch of trailer by my mother Barbara paid for it to moving to New Britain, CT in August 1981 then getting married on September 6, 1981. However me learned from my parent Robert "Bob "and Barbara Gaudette rented other U-Haul truck in Bloomfield, CT when me six years girl. U-Haul service was and is amazing since me was a little girl. STANISLAW LOdd location where you can only take a right coming out of the parking lot. The trailer was mostly good but the ratchets were incredibly rusted, to the point where you could not really move them. I ended up having to WD-40 them overnight to get them to free up and work properly. Also, the rear chain was incredibly short -- too short to connect to any part of the vehicle, so it did not serve a purpose. Not sure if it was swapped out at some point, but it need to be longer on this trailer because it was useless and left the rear of the vehicle completely unrestrained during transit.

SERAFIM BThe particular truck i rented this time needs to be gone through. Normally I'm very happy with the quality of your vehicles and the ease of rental. At first everything seemed fine. First the passenger side seat belt keeps getting tighter and locks up so the only way to loosen is to remove it and start over. The driver side visor is broken and falls down with every bump you hit. Then it got dark out. The headlights are terrible. Driver side is very dim while the passenger side is pointing up and to the right. Can't see where you are going and lots of oncoming traffic blasts with high beams. Very dangerous. We ended up taking backroads from new jersey which took forever. Then to top it off when we stopped to fill up, it wouldn't start. We had to turn the key about a dozen times to get the starter to engage.

YDALITZA RCustomer service and support from the staff at this site was great, no negative feedback there, they seem to be juggling a lot! My biggest issue is the online reservation system and false advertising of costs. First of all, I requested a vehicle closer to my home that showed as "available" when booking the equipment. When the dispatcher called me the next day to inform me I would have to pick up a rental ~20+ minutes further from my home, and that there were no other options closer (of any size/class of vehicle), I was quite upset. I understand that dispatch isn't always able to control the location of vehicles, but if I had known that I would have to drive further to access the vehicle, I would have rented a vehicle from a different vehicle rental company (that would have ended up costing me less time and money to rent than what the UHaul website advertised). One thing that the dispatcher did not inform me about, even though they knew I was going to have to drive further to retrieve the vehicle, is that I would now have to pay a "commercial" flat rate since I was driving more then a certain amount of miles (I believe it was approx. 60 miles) round trip. This lack of information further changed the cost, and further distorted the seemingly low prices that Uhaul advertised all the way through my online process of reserving and "checking out" for the vehicle I needed. These deceptive price practices seem intentional, and took away my power as a consumer to consider alternative options that would have better suited my needs and potentially improve my own financial outcomes. Uhaul - please be upfront with your pricing, and be more clear with what vehicles are available at what locations. I'll be connecting with the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection to consider additional actions to hold UHaul accountable for these issues, and try to protect other customers from this type of deceptive pricing practices.

Elizabeth SI would give a 5 but unfortunately it turned out to be a real mess, in that earlier in the day when I rented a 26' truck to move belongings from another storage facility to U-haul, it got complicated, difficult and frustrating. I had originally reserved a storage unit (10x10x10) but it was determined I needed a 10x15. I was told to just take care when I returned with truck. When I did return, no 10x15 units were available. In fact all that was left was a 10x10x10 and a 5'10x10. It was agreed on but the 2 units were opposite ends of the building and, the smaller unit given was wrong, it was a 5x5x10. I had clearly stated on multiple occasions to the rep a 5x5x10 even coupled with the 10x10x10 would be too small. Ultimately it was changed to a 5x10x10. However all the delays caused us to be late returning truck. My understanding is the young female rep put a note in system to manager not to charge for returning after 5:00 due to the circumstances that happened. I appreciate the willingness to work with me/us but it was a definite challenge to get to that point. I would try again if needed.

Katherine M | Expérience généraleI was contacted the day before my rental pick up and was told the size truck I rented was not available and I would have to drive 30 minutes away to pick up the equipment needed. I went to the location the original location in the evening and counted over 15 trucks in the lot as being the same size rental I reserved. I called in the morning and pointed this out and was put on hold. I was then informed a vehicle 'was' available and it just came in. How did 15+ trucks 'just' come in? I didnt appreciate the frustration and delays this caused. Other than this, the equipment worked out fine for what it was rented for.

Angel RPerson who checked me in was a little anti social and clearly did not want to be there but was effective. The gentleman outside that got in the trailer and consequently we dropped the trailer off to was energetic and super helpful. Equipment was clean and fine. Will use location again but first person and 40 min turnaround prohibits top score.

EUROPE FWe were charged an additional 16 fee that was not expected. We were told that our total bill would be 19,95+95 cents per mile +tax. We were not told about the additional 16 until the last minute.
JOSEPH HEverything was terrific. My only critique is with the APP. The app was having trouble loading, it would let me take a photo of the dashboard. I am still not sure if my check out on the app was complete. You shouldn't need the app to check out. People should be able to do it through email or paper

MICHAEL SYour facility was okay. Everything was clean and nice. Well, lityour attendant rented me. The wrong size unit showed me one, but rented me a different 1 a lot smaller and when I was going back to complain and get the right size unit. Your garage door almost took me out of my motorcycle and made me crash. There's significant damage to my vehicle. There's significant damage to myself. I am going to pursue this further.

Joan BStaff was fantastic on pickup and rental return. On pick up, after the trailer was attached to my truck, it was found there was no brake fluid in it. They quickly hitched up a 2nd trailer. I returned this one immediately after stopping and noticed a damaged side wall. They provided the 3rd trailer which worked out very well! With issues with the 1st two trailers, I'm saying trailer equipment apparently is not looked at well enough to see if maintenance or repairs are required before they are rented again.

ALEX DI was very disappointed that the first truck I was issued for rental did not start. After finding out that the truck did not start, I needed to wait quite some time (approximately 20 minutes) in line to get another truck. If possible, I would recommend that vehicles are tested to see if they start on a daily basis. At the very minimum, once the weather starts getting colder, vehicles should be tested to make sure that they start.

MICHAEL GWe reserved a 4x10 trailer but the one we got was actually smaller than listed (measured 42 inches across and only 7 feet deep). This caused a problem since we had to find a location at our destination in RI to switch out the trailer for the correct size.

Jessica JOnly 1 person working the counter with a line of 3 customers waiting for service. The office staff wouldn't come out & help. 3 of them just stayed in the office laughing and talking. The only time one of the people came out was when the lady at the counter was trying to help all of us at once. The office lady just came out to tell the counter lady to help only one customer at a time and when I tried to talk to the office lady she walked away back to her office.

And I was charged 0,99 cents per mile. Thirty six dollars is a lot of money for me. If I had known I would have put 2 gallons of gas in for $4.60. Is there any way for you to reimburse me $31? Merci.

IAN BWe plugged our RV in the outlet to charge the house batteries. Twice we arrived to find the batteries dead. We complained about the fluctuating voltage but it was not resolved. Our surge protector won't work when the voltage fluctuates. There was an ice cream vendor parked near us. His electric draw may have had an impact.

ERIK KWaited 40 minutes in line with only 3 people ahead of me, even though I made a reservation online. There were employees in the office playing with a dog instead of assisting customers. Your pricing is extremely misleading- $29,95? HA! What a joke! It was $100 for the afternoon, not including the gas I put back in. 10/10 would NOT recommend using U-Haul as a company, and ESPECIALLY not this location. I'm sure everyone before and after me will agree that location does not deserve business.
DEREK JPeople behind the counter were friendly and nice but seemed like they needed more training. The three times I went there it took a long time waiting to be served. Every time there was a lot of frustrated people waiting for service. It seems more like a management issue then a employee issue.

THEODORE BI rented the truck at 1/4 gallon and returned it at 1/4 gallon. Drove 12 miles total and added 2 gallons of gas. This location is now charging me $60 claiming I didn't refill the gas.
THERESA MI rented a trailer and it went fine. But I returned it a day early and did not receive any credit. I couldn't park the trailer back in its spot due to the packed aisles UHUAL designed. I hurt my back just wrestling it free enough to get my F-250 free. When I went inside there was a long line of customers. It wasn't moving. I guessed the wait would be a half hour so I just left. This place has high employee turnover. It's obvious most employees are training. They should have a small tractor to park the heavy trailers for you. And not force you to execute a perfect trailer parking maneuver.
JAMES BFront desk was unhelpful. Told me to go outside and find someone to help me with drop off. When I finally found someone, he said just to leave keys in truck. Found out later that this did not close my transaction. Had to call customer service so they could call location and get in closed.

The truck was perfect and spotless as well as the equipment we brough along like the dollys. The facility was professional and clean. Great job!
CHARLES SFirst, get your damn app working. It sucks. Would not geolocate or scan the location code. I should not have needed to stand in line. Next, how about proper staffing levels? You don't have nearly enough people. The poor manager was running her ass off.

Storage was closed informed Liz assistant manager that day before 3 o'clock had a phone call Sunday verified day question me if we closed. It's like Liz doesn't know what she's doing because she called me on Sunday and questioning me if we closed up the storage and I know after my first month, I came down with a cash payment, and that was accepted I had no idea that was on auto pay I can't remember the managers name. I went to high school with her and told me if I had any problems to contact her. I just can't remember her name.
Steven D | Expérience généraleVery friendly staff, from the moment we pulled up we got help with the trailer, our Subaru was very well secured and tied down, we drove from Orlando, it took us 3 days because of the storm but we did it without any problem. The truck is a little bit noise inside the cabin, the driver seat is comfortable as well as the passenger. Also the staff in Orlando was very helpful. I will do it again.

Jordan one of the associates at Uhaul in Plainville Ct was suppose to go into my account 7-31-24 and close my account saying I was done with storage but he never did. This is not the first time I had issues with Jordon.

My contract went through the 6th, I was able to get movers and had them clear out the storage and locked it up to return once I had more time to give keys, etc back (and not keep the movers waiting). My contact on my account got a call prior to me and then U-Haul followed up with me. They said they realized the unit was empty. I agreed it was, I had locked it up and would be in before my timeframe. The impression I received was that I needed to come in immediately as did my friend. I explained I would be in on the weekend prior to my timeframe expiring. I then received another phone call as did my friend. When I called back they said the unit was empty, I agreed it was but that I would be in before the timeframe. When I went in on Sunday, I went in and unlocked the unit-and turned the door opener back in. I asked why the calls, and was told that the unit was open, it had been locked when I went up that day. It have three concerns, the first being that my friend was notified prior to me, the second being that no one had said it was unlocked just that it was empty, and when I went up it was locked and the final is that it felt like they wanted the unit to be available. I had paid through a time period, unsure why if it is empty or not would matter. The experience was overall great until the last week and a half.

I don't blame the guy who helped me- but he should have been properly trained before throwing him into the fire. I noticed he had problems with his previous customer as well. Scanner that operates the door for entrance into the storage facility does not work, you have to swipe your card many times before gaining access. The point to understand is that this door is the only door leading into the storage area. This facility claims you have access to your belongings 24/7 but it's not true for the controlled climate storage facility. I will not do business with this facility ever again.

My unit was locked with another lock and I went and removed my belongings and canceled the unit contract
