The direction to pick up the truck and get the key we're not clear and easy. Even though we completed the online process to get it at 8 on Sunday we ended up waiting an hour for the store to open. There was another costumer with the same issue just before us.

Very quick check in process. The personnel checked all the necessary items (inspect for any damage, working lights, gas, mileage, etc.) and I was emailed my receipt and I was on my way in no time. Very friendly and following CDC guidelines for social distancing.

Price gouged for a broken tail light lens.....GMC price was $52.00 and I was charged $299.00 to replace it. I could have done it myself. Yes I can't prove I didn't do it....so yes I got charged because I didn't inspect the vehicle because I was in a hurry! I will NEVER rent another Uhal again! I am a business that rent your trucks once or twice a month at $400- 500 in business for you and you now have lost me over a price gouging of a tail light lens!

First, when I checked in my key was in the wrong box, so my truck wouldn't start with the key I had. Since my pickup time was right before the opening time, I was able to wait for a worker to arrive and help. If I had to leave any earlier this would have been detrimental. I also found the website unclear and the return process unforgiving. I accidentally rented an in town uhaul, not seeing any other option. I had to drive the uhaul seven hours back because the uhaul woman on the phone told me I would be charged an obscene amount otherwise. I was still charged an obscene amount and spent 16hours of a 22 hour day driving in an area I was unfamiliar with in a vehicle I was uncomfortable with. The Portsmouth location was fine, but I will probably not use the uhaul website again.

we used one of your truck to move items to another storage facility ...they did not come through and we were able to secure a storage space from U-Haul with very little notice. Gentleman in the office were wonderful!!!! I will recommend them with out hesitation... we will also be using this location to install a trailer hitch to our Jeep...

I usually love this location. When the regular staff is there the customer service is excellent. This time was a different experience. The staff did not have a “can do” attitude at all, in fact, quite the opposite, when I picked up the trailer. When I returned it, I got a very strange and unpleasant response from another new person. Please train your new people to keep consistent with the excellent service you have provided for years! Thank you.

The truck would not start after I loaded my furniture at the storage unit I had to get a jump start then keep the truck running all day. I had to pay 2 hours to the movers for just WAITING. Then you had the nerve to send me this e mail at midnight waking me and. My wife. How incredibly ignorant. You also put that stupid useless dolly on the truck that I'd right in the way. I moved it so no one would trip but find out you crooks charged me to use it when I didn't want it on the truck

Sticky, smelly inside. Automated check in did not work. Employees didn't know how to operate the software. Brake / engine light came on while driving. I was overcharged by a day due to employee error. Horrible.

I would recommend this storage facility to anyone in the Portsmouth area. It is convenient and well maintained. I was particularly impressed with the staff's efficiency and professional knowledge during the months I rented with this U-Haul facility. I told the kid I needed the trailer for a week, he only booked me for a day. When he said how much it was going to be I said “really, for a whole week?” He said “yep!” Hook up went well then he didn't put the dollys I ordered in so I had to go back in on my way out. Fast forward 1 day...my wife goes into labor during the move and I'm getting calls from Uhaul in Lawrence, MA that they need my trailer and I was supposed to drop it off. We never even mentioned Lawrence. I told the kid I needed drop off in Salisbury. Cherry on top, I called my order in ahead of time via the phone and she said they were expecting me and to head over at my convenience before closing. So I went over, walk in, and once greeted (and he knows what I'm picking up) he goes oh you're late. If I'm late, then why aren't the dollys in the trailer? He literally acknowledged the fact that the lady who I set up with on the phone relayed the proper information to him. Wasn't wearing a mask the whole time.

Most of the employees at this location are excellent and a few go out of their way to make your experience easy and pleasant. There were several unmasked customers in the store, however and I would ask that this location post a “masks required” sign - it is a mandate in our city. Thank you!

I believe that U-Haul should warn prospective renters about the large amount of sway when the trailer is on the back of your vehicle. Thank goodness that my husband has experience towing trailers as we very easliy could have lost control due to the sway!

Checkout took 30 mins despite doing most of it on the app. Had to wait way, way too long for keys. Photos did not reflect damage stickers on the van, so I had to take and upload new ones with crappy cell service at your location. Having only one person working the desk early on the first day of the month Is f'ing stupid! It cost me money to have my helper stand around waiting for me to show up at my shop with a van. I'm a long standing, regular customer at this location and am usually very happy with the experience. Not so this time. I was extremely dissatisfied with poor management and understaffing. :((

The truck worked fine, but the self check-out and app experience was very bad. I carefully read every notice available in the checkout before you had to select the pickup time and nowhere did it say that the window for pickup was 1 hour before until 15 minutes after the selected pickup time. I missed this window and luckily was close enough to open hours that I was able to complete my pickup. Please be more explicit about this timing or offer the possibility to extend the window. (I completely expected that if i pick up late I would no longer get 24 hours after pickup, but expected it to be 24 hours from my scheduled time) On returning I was also unable to complete the checkout on my phone (running android 8.0) and luckily was able to use my brothers phone (android 10) to complete the process, otherwise I am not sure what I would have done.

The gentleman working at the uhaul facility on portsmouth nh on April 18th at 9 am was absolutely wonderful! He was kind, efficient, helpful, and enthusiastic. Especially during times like these, it was comforting to have such a friendly face to help me out. In terms of uhaul as a company, I was thrilled to receive my first month of storage for free. It really was a huge help in the midst of the pandemic.

The climate controlled storage was not controlled properly. All of our boxes and many other items show signs of high humidity including mildew. Read the fine print; 1 day or 30 days is the same price.

The staff and the facility were great. We did have some monthly issues with billing, as we were renting 2 units therefore paying 2 rental fees which were often credited to the wrong unit.
