I had to unexpectedly move across the country. I could not be physically present to sign documents to let my stuff go and stop renting the unit. This particular location was extremely unhelpful and most of the time they seemed annoyed as if I, the customer, were a burden. I wouldn’t recommend this location to my worst enemy. No one there communicates with each other. It took me 6+ months to get them to change my address. And basically more than a year to get them to stop hassling me to pay them for a storage unit I was no longer using. They hide behind policies and procedures to get out of doing the right thing for the customer. Finally someone contacted me and they seemed to have half a brain and they sent me a simple letter that I could sign and email back. How simple?! Why couldn’t that have been done sometime in 2019? No, I battled with this location from 2019-2021. Unacceptable.
Everything went very smoothly, and likewise, the clerk was very helpful. This was by far my best U-Haul experience so far.

The pick up process was easy but the vehicle was not in the spot specified so I had to hunt for it and call your customer service team.
The truck and trailer were set up to drop off at 2 different locations. The personnel gave us a hard time at drop off.

So helpful with assuring the trailer lights worked- replaced my blown trailer light fuse! Very nice and quick as well.
The cleaning supplies make the cab smell kind of weird. Also, a tire was quite low on air (as indicated on dash) so I'd say in the future just double check that as well. Overall 10/10!

Increase number of staff per shift. The individual who assisted me was quite pleasant, but seems a bit overwhelmed by the number of customer to which he needed to attend.
Everything was perfect, on time and ready to go. Customer Service exceeded our expectations.
We rent U Haul often, and the manager here could not have been more accommodating, As soon as I came in, they are friendly and helpful, making the rental smooth. When I came back, the Manager himself came out, and helped us unhitch the equipment, rather then make us wait. !!
Great experience- I arrived around closing and the rep on duty was very patient and took the time to help me even though he undoubtedly wanted to get to enjoying his Sunday evening.
This is a great UHaul facility - clean, friendly workers, reliable equipment.
The rep who assisted me in Portsmouth, NH was Excellent and it restored my confidence in U-Haul. The other week I rented a trailer from the Salisbury MA location and that manager deleted my online booking and recreated it in store and moved my time from 15 hours to 3 so I was double charged. The Portsmouth rep did everything for me and was really great

The windshield wipers on this truck were in terrible condition and made it hard to see in the rain and there was some sort of mechanical issue with the rear end, either breaks or transmission related.
Reps made sure everything worked on trailer before I left
We ordered a van and received a mini pick up truck, thus having to make 3 trips and ensue extra milage!!!!!!
The staff is top notch- wish UHAUL Corporate would help this location with their checkout technology (credit card machines and computer systems) always seems to triple the checkout time.
Brian, Jack, and all the employees at the Portsmouth branch have been extremely helpful and spot-on! Couldn't ask for a better team! Keep up the great work
The cab reeked of smoke. Luckily, I put on only 9 miles so time in the cab was quite limited.
Overall outstanding customer service.
Uhaul was amazing, my move in date got changed and they easily added another day for me. And then when i had to extend again due to issues with ice they were able to extend again for a few hours. Truly appreciate great service.
Somehow I assumed the pickup truck was AWD. Nevertheless i had no major problems handling through a snowstorm thanks
They were fantastic!!!!! They helped me pick out the best size vehicle and help me purchase supplies I may have needed to help me move large items.
Need someone to man the desk at all times. I waited ~20 minutes for someone to show up with no customers ahead of me. Everyone was very busy outside. Time to hire more people?
I had never rented a storage unit prior to this. UHAUL went above and beyond my expectations of a rental facility. Everything went smoothly and the staff I dealt with the entire time were knowledgeable and friendly.

The direction to pick up the truck and get the key we're not clear and easy. Even though we completed the online process to get it at 8 on Sunday we ended up waiting an hour for the store to open. There was another costumer with the same issue just before us.
I have never had a bad experience at this location. Keep on doing what you're doing! You are a great asset to the community!

Very quick check in process. The personnel checked all the necessary items (inspect for any damage, working lights, gas, mileage, etc.) and I was emailed my receipt and I was on my way in no time. Very friendly and following CDC guidelines for social distancing.
The team was friendly and efficient. They answered all my questions and made my rental experience a good one.
Price gouged for a broken tail light lens.....GMC price was $52.00 and I was charged $299.00 to replace it. I could have done it myself. Yes I can't prove I didn't do it....so yes I got charged because I didn't inspect the vehicle because I was in a hurry! I will NEVER rent another Uhal again! I am a business that rent your trucks once or twice a month at $400- 500 in business for you and you now have lost me over a price gouging of a tail light lens!
First, when I checked in my key was in the wrong box, so my truck wouldn't start with the key I had. Since my pickup time was right before the opening time, I was able to wait for a worker to arrive and help. If I had to leave any earlier this would have been detrimental. I also found the website unclear and the return process unforgiving. I accidentally rented an in town uhaul, not seeing any other option. I had to drive the uhaul seven hours back because the uhaul woman on the phone told me I would be charged an obscene amount otherwise. I was still charged an obscene amount and spent 16hours of a 22 hour day driving in an area I was unfamiliar with in a vehicle I was uncomfortable with. The Portsmouth location was fine, but I will probably not use the uhaul website again.
Technology: awful Customer service: terrible Bait and switch: yes A 10ft box truck is NOT a pickup truck but due to scheduling i have no other option and didn't find out until it was too late to make a change. The entire experience was terrible
Return was extremely fast. I was waiting in the store as the associate was helping another customer and another worker came inside and told me the trailer was unhitched and that was all set to go. It was less than 5 minutes

we used one of your truck to move items to another storage facility ...they did not come through and we were able to secure a storage space from U-Haul with very little notice. Gentleman in the office were wonderful!!!! I will recommend them with out hesitation... we will also be using this location to install a trailer hitch to our Jeep...

I usually love this location. When the regular staff is there the customer service is excellent. This time was a different experience. The staff did not have a “can do†attitude at all, in fact, quite the opposite, when I picked up the trailer. When I returned it, I got a very strange and unpleasant response from another new person. Please train your new people to keep consistent with the excellent service you have provided for years! Thank you.

The truck would not start after I loaded my furniture at the storage unit I had to get a jump start then keep the truck running all day. I had to pay 2 hours to the movers for just WAITING. Then you had the nerve to send me this e mail at midnight waking me and. My wife. How incredibly ignorant. You also put that stupid useless dolly on the truck that I'd right in the way. I moved it so no one would trip but find out you crooks charged me to use it when I didn't want it on the truck

Location seemed understaffed. We were simply told to leave the vehicle and await an email receipt. It has only been a day since drop off, but we've still not received a receipt.

I would recommend this storage facility to anyone in the Portsmouth area. It is convenient and well maintained. I was particularly impressed with the staff's efficiency and professional knowledge during the months I rented with this U-Haul facility. I will not hesitate to rent from them in the future if the need arises.
My daughter and I were struggling in the rain to move an item into storage and two employees went out of their way to help us. Kudos!!!

The manager at this location is top notch! Hes always incredibly friendly and great with customers.
The online check in doesn't work. The pin I was given doesn't work on the key pad, so I had to go into the store and get a key card. Which, the store was vacant for about 10 minutes just waiting for someone to come in to help me. The freight elevator was great to have and use.
Everything was great with the only exception being that locating my unit was not easy, I had to ask one of your employees. Very minor inconvenience.

The gentleman working at the uhaul facility on portsmouth nh on April 18th at 9 am was absolutely wonderful! He was kind, efficient, helpful, and enthusiastic. Especially during times like these, it was comforting to have such a friendly face to help me out. In terms of uhaul as a company, I was thrilled to receive my first month of storage for free. It really was a huge help in the midst of the pandemic.

Great People to deal with. Little trouble with their systems but very helpful, cheerful and friendly.
The climate controlled storage was not controlled properly. All of our boxes and many other items show signs of high humidity including mildew. Read the fine print; 1 day or 30 days is the same price.
Ryan is a terrific asset and is hard working, knowledgeable, and friendly. The female employee whose name escapes me was also pleasant and efficient.
I was really surprised by the long wait upon arrival. We didn’t see anybody even after a 15 minute wait. Once we were finally greeted the entire process of getting the storage unit took far too long.

ID card is helpful, but should not have to swipe both down and up to activate. Appreciate leaning of lock (even though we had our own). Appreciate availability of addtl locker; not needed

The only downside was the website is terrible and the system for bill paying from the bank had lits if errors. . Otherwise it was a great experience.

The staff and the facility were great. We did have some monthly issues with billing, as we were renting 2 units therefore paying 2 rental fees which were often credited to the wrong unit.
There was a delay in delivery. It had been scheduled for 9am, but the staff could "not find" our unit. I got the same message when I stopped by at around 1pm Finally, at 4pm it was delivered.
Have always had a good experience with this uhaul location. I would definitely recommend this particular location.
