two hours late and we get charged for another whole day. Your system is sophisticated enough to prorate by the hour. I find it disappointing and enough to make me want to look elsewhere rental equipment.Christine L.
I could not access the building to move in at 7PM. I called the manager and got a voicemail. Then I texted the number but she responded that she was on leave. I then had to ask her for the backup contact, she did not initially supply the information. Thankfully Steve was immensely helpful and figured out that our access was for "store hours only." Once he fixed this we could enter the building but the sliding doors were locked. We had to move mattresses and a couch through the man door. The employees you have at this location are professional and nice. I wish I would have remembered the guy's name who helped me. He was polite, professional, and efficient. I guess my only complaint is the â€œcell phonesâ€ used to make the process fast were a little slow. The hours were convenient, the price was reasonable, and the equipment was clean and useful. Initial Ubox has delivered a few hours late or original estimate. The pickup did not arrive for 5 days even though it was scheduled for the next day. Original guaranteed arrival date was nov 9th but it did not arrive until the 18th. No one ever notified me to let me know it was delayed (multiple times) even though each time I called they swore someone would next time. Have been waiting to hear back from claims about delay refund but no one has ever called, even after weeks.Cora H.

My appointment for hitch installation was 12:30. Didn't start work on my vehicle until 2:30 !Gene T.
Unbelievably poor experience that caused me astronomical amounts of unnecessary stress. Triple checked to make sure my Ubox would be delivered on Nov. 15th because I had to take two days off work + my dad was driving in 7 hours from out of state to help me move. Designated time for drop off goes by, no Ubox. I call and wait for half an hour to speak to someone to confirm it would be dropped off and was promised it would be delivered by 6pm. We wait all day and nothing shows, no communication whatsoever. Spend HOURS that night and the next morning on calls with customer support, being transferred from person to person to person trying to figure out where my Ubox is. The driver apparently decided to go rogue and turned off all her communication devices and wouldn't even respond to Uhaul staff. Spent hours the next morning beginning at 7am trying to figure out WHERE my Ubox was and what was happening. I broke down near the end of the day because all day 15th and 16th were my scheduled move in days, and NOTHING was done; my things were lost somewhere in Uhaul obscurity. Finally after getting swapped from person to person to person once again, I was promised a third party was going to deliver my Ubox by the end of the day on the 16th. I get home and still no Ubox - I start crying when the service person tells me it "was delivered." Turns out, it was delivered ... to the wrong address. My dad, who is 70, hurt his back trying to hitch the Ubox trailer to his truck so we could transport it to my house (the actual location on file) and finally begin to unpack. Uhaul said they couldn't send someone out there to transport the Ubox to the correct address until the next day, and at that point I believed nothing they told me. The Ubox was supposed to only be sitting outside my house for 24 hours until it would be picked up. I contact Uhaul to make sure it's going to get taken away on time and was told the morning of the 18th ... no one comes to get it. Finally sometime Friday someone comes to retrieve it after I reminded them because "oops we forgot." The entire thing was obscenely incompetent from start to finish, just to deliver a Ubox on time, on the correct day, after I'd paid nearly 4 000 $to utilize this "convenient" service. I've never had so much regret for not following through with PODS or an alternative company. Uhaul lost multiple customers for life with this one.Olivia L.

I should seek a refund. I returned to my closest location whereby I waited in line for 30mins to be told that I cannot drop off there - that I would be charged â€œ3x my daily rental priceâ€ to leave the trailer there because they have too many. I called uhaul and was redirected to another location 20minutes away where I was told that â€œpersonnel will just come out and unhook the trailer after you pull upâ€. I waited as directed for 10mins and no one showed up. I went inside and waited another 10mins in line and was told to just unhook it myself and leave it. They were too busy and it would be quite some time if we wanted them to do it it or if I wanted a receipt. TERRIBLE SERVICE ALL AROUND!Hugh W.

Fix your system so that customers can turn in their rental after-hours. It cannot be done now because the photo function of the process does NOT work and so the customer cannot getr past Step 2, which requires a photo upload of the equipment to prove its cleanliness. Result: inconvenience to the customer and the risk of late turn-in and additional charges. I would emphasize that THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE STAFF AT THIS LOCATION! THEY DO A GREAT JOB!! THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SYSTEM OF AFTER HOURS TURN-IN!! THANKS FOR DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT, PLEASE!!GEORGE T.

2 staff workers called the police on my wife for voicing her opinion about the service and conflicting employee understanding of a policy as we were told. The two employees were very disrespectful and started taping us with their phones and refused to finish offering service. At that time we were told we were trespassing pointed towards my wife. Though we have rented units, trucks and bought packing equipment from u-haul, we will never use u-haul for anything again. We waited for the police to arrive (while being told we were trespassing as we waited by the two staff members). We appreciate the Asheville Police Officers service and seeing the silliness of the incident. With increased crime in this area such an inappropriate use of the Officers service. Empty Ubox did not arrive on time. Full Ubox delivery was cancelled because uhaul location didn't want to work with 3rd party delivery. Uhaul location delivered it themselves which was nice, but we had to unload ourselves which was not what we originally paid for. Staff was nice and communicated well.JANA M.

Unfortunately, there is no official place to park a personal vehicle while using your services. I wish that had been mentioned on the website. Also, the vehicle return procedure took over 30 minutes. Is there a way to make it easier?, faster? or let people know to alot an extra 30-45 min for check-in/out. Especially, during an after hours return in the dark.ROBIN R.

Have a contact number that goes directly to a personal at that location. Number listed goes directly to U-Hual.com no matter what time of the day. This makes it extremely difficult to fix any issues, like when you don't get the rental you're being charged for.Erica K.

The staff is great, facility looks clean. My biggest grip is that I rented a drive up storage unit; however they have so many trailers in the yard that it is impossible to drive up to my unit. Makes it very difficult to move in an appliance with an 18" step.ANDREW G. | Premières impressions
Rented an Inclosed trailer to haul an expensive dining room set home so it wouldn't get wet. By the time we got it home and opened the door it was all soaking wet were the roof on the trailer leaked so bad. We are now trying to find someone to clean our 8 white cloth chairs that are 500 a peice. Will not rent that again.ANTHONY G.

My pick-up location was changed twice and kept being moved further away. One location would have been closed by the time I got there. It would help if the customer had a choice of locations since Uhaul doesn't know where I'm coming from to pick up the vigil.Jonathan K.

It is very inconvenient that the pods can't be delivered on the weekend. It took 2 extra weeks from when my pods were delivered to actually receive them. The person who was dropping off the pods kept texting me and rescheduling the dates to drop them off and then pick them up. He was supposed to pick them up Monday, then it was Tuesday then Wednesday then Friday - I'm not sure if they actually got picked up on Friday or Saturday but either way those pods were in my already packed parking lot for a week in a half. My stuff was all delivered fine and in good condition but actually receiving the pods and then getting them picked up was a hassle, very annoying and very inconvenient.CAITLIN L.

I know there's a labor shortage, butâ€¦ There was only one person there. No on to check you in. The sign said to wait in your vehicleâ€"I think I'd still be there waiting for someone. Tried to use the web link that was sent to me, but it kept insisting that it couldn't find my location please turn on location services. They were on. Tried several times, followed the directions provided, refreshed the page, nope can't find my location, no check in. The 24/7 turn-in system "photo" function would not take the required picture of the trailer for cleanliness, but it would not allow me to complete the after-hours turn in process. So I had to keep the trailer until an attendant arrived the next morning at 7AM. You need to fix this!! This is a system problem, not a people problem. Your staff at this location is GREAT, but the system needs a bit of work!!GEORGE T.

Horrible experience. Waited 3 hrs to get our truck and U-boxes. They had the order wrong after I specifically called and asked to pick up the boxes myself since they said no one was available to deliver it in my area. We had booked movers to help us move and because of the delay in getting our truck we lost half the time we had scheduled with the hired help . I expect to speak with a managerNathan W.

We had a very pleasant experience! The lady who helped us when we picked up had a general manager shirt on but I didn't get her name. She was very kind and even though she was busy she took her time with each customer before us and then also with us. The truck said it had low tire pressure and even though she was busy she stopped, politely excused herself and came to check and add air to the tire. When we dropped the truck back off a young man was there and he as well was very kind and they both smiled and never seemed frazzled no matter how busy they were! Lower your price for a lockout! I accidentally dropped my car keys behind the seat and assumed they were in my pocket. I locked the truck and dropped the key in the after hours box. When I called for assistance I was quoted 175 $for someone to open the truck. I refused and waited for Uber to drive me home. I came back in the morning and got my keys. Uber was only 28 $.Patrick G.

At no point was I told when my boxes would arrive. It was the very last minutes at the end of the day. I had to call UHaul customer service line 3 times to finally get answers (additionally when people transferred me, they would unintentionally hang up and I'd have to call again and wait another hour). Granted customer service was helpful and pleasant, but this experience was hell. Too many furniture pads, they were a inconvenience versus a generous offer. Since we filled both boxes, we had several BAGS of furniture pads that we had to drop off at another UHaul location. The person who was supposed to pick up the UBoxes told us she had nowhere to put them...neither did we! That was a major inconvenience in our move. Additionally, our boxes were picked up 2 days AFTER the scheduled pick up date. Not only were we NOT notified they hadn't been picked up, I had to check to make sure UHaul was doing their job. It's a pandemic, everyone is moving, everyone is short staffed, but verbally acknowledging issues and planning to fix things should be top of list for everyone. If it's not going to be picked up on time, tell me. Now, the date for delivering my entire house is 3 days after the estimated date, it just isn't ideal. Currently, I would NOT recommend UBox to others moving, it's cheaper than most...but you're getting terribly inconvenient and unideal service that comes with it.tatiana S.

They installed the hitch incorrectly so that it was rubbing against the muffler. We had to take it to a mechanic to have it removed. Now we can't get in touch with an actual human to get a refund or have any sort of resolution. Will never use uhaul again.Oli G.
I have rented from U Haul numerous times and have always had a good experience but NOT this time. I understand they are short handed due to Covid being on the increase at this location but put a sign up that explains to the customer that the hours are NOT what is posted and what you have to do when returning equipment. The trailers were NOT organized and dropping it off by myself was not fun. The area was just a shambles and the trailer almost rolled into my vehicle because the tire chocks (blocks of wood) were so far away and just thrown on the ground. Any other location the area to return is clearly marked not here. And when I saw a person there working she was as rude as possible telling me I was late!!!!!!!! I was NOT, they closed at 5 due to people being sick with covid. She said do what you have to do after hours on your phone. I had not had to do that before because I had set it up purposely to be back before they closed. So I was unaware of how to do the check in after hours. I did figure it out and was thankful I had stayed in the parking lot to take the pictures. I will use UHaul again however I will NOT use this location.TAMMY B.

Everything was excellent. The only part I don't like is that U-haul does not prorate the bill. I no longer needed my unit, as I rented a larger unit elsewhere and combined my things. I had three weeks left before my next bill was due, and now someone else can rent it free for thirty days. U-haul's 30-day rent-free policy is misleading in some cases like mine. I already paid full rent and 3/4 was remaining. I should be refunded ~ 96,75 $ and U-haul should let the new customer rent for 30 days free, as per the policy and not on my dime.karen m. | Expérience générale

I had an issue checking into my storage unit and dropping off my truck rental. The internet was down but I recognize that is beyond anyone's control. I also was given a unit that was already occupied. It took too long..,about an hour just to get started unpacking the truck into my storage unit. The guy at the front counter seemed disinterested and would rather be anywhere but working. We did cross country move and first moving place we had selected did not tell the truth about 18 wheeler huge atlas van lines fitting on property. They drove by your place on sweeten....it was a great alternative. Probably better and safer then the original choice. You were able to get us in immediately and now when we make final move can rent truck and other needed tools to do so. Can't thank this location and staff enough.Steve B. | Online Move In
