The location was clean, the vehicle was clean and the manager was awesome, but we informed them that the check engine light was on and they told us it was fine and to go ahead and take the truck. We did and then discovered that the a/c didn't work at all. We called to inform them and they said they had no other 26' trucks available. It was not noted in the system that we notified them of either of these things and therefore when we dropped it off they had no record of our concerns. We'd appreciate a refund for at least part of our rental due to being sold equipment that wasn't prepared to make it most comfortable for us, the renters.Lori B.

Relies heavily on the customer having a functional smart phone with internet access, even to confirm the quality of the vehicle at rental start. If you're at an actual U-Haul office the staff should be confirming this with you visually and non-digitally if requested.Alan F.

It wasn't as much the equipment as it was the customer service and the people that work at that location. The crew that worked the day before Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving day is who I am talking about. Not only were they professional and courteous and extra helpful they were also fun and happy and made me happy when I left there it was just weird being in that kind of mood after leaving a U-Haul rental place. I can't say that that's ever happened but this team has got it. I am also renting a storage space from there so I go in just to say hello when I'm at my unit. They really are fantasticDIADRE B.

My rental was guaranteed at another location but was changed to this location two days prior to pickup. There were some minor problems with getting the equipment checked out to me but they were handled by the friendly staff. I did the online check in in order to make the process quicker. Unfortunately, the equipment had not been checked into the location from the previous user, so the system would not let the staff check it out to me. Once they figured out the problem, it went fine. The fuel amount indicated on the contract was not accurate. There was a leak in the â€œbox â€œ of the vehicle. It was a rainy day & my cargo got wet. I rented a 10 foot truck. Overall the customer service is very good. I have used this location often in the past few months.Edward B.

The mover could have done better. He used few pads, just threw the bags in on top. The boxes were late, but they gave me a refund for the late days. The Uhaul people in SD are excellent and bend over backward to help. Can't say enough good about them.Joanne W.

Management was nice, employees were rude and not forthcoming with the process. I left a few bags in the truck while trying to return the vehicle . I gave the kid my keys and he walked out , then came in and didn't acknowledge me. After waiting 5 minutes I asked if I could have the receipt and he told me due to having items in the truck he can't process it. And that someone else would help me. But he just let me stand there like an idiot until I asked. Then Management let me know they lost my hitch I left in a rental. We were removing 4 Uboxes from storage on 10/28/2021. The staff informed me that the 4 Uboxes had been moved to the front of the storage building for easy access and removal. The U-Haul employee to move the Uboxes out of the storage building had not been told this critical piece of information and was a trainee with no supervision. As a result, the employee did not know where the 4 Uboxes were, was unfamiliar with operating the fork lift, was also unfamiliar with how the Uboxes should be positioned once out of the storage building and caused over an hour delay in accessing the 4 Uboxes by the movers hired by me. This resulted in my movers doubling the amount of time I had originally contracted with them and caused a doubling in their charges. Employees that are in training should have a supervisor with them and know how to operate the equipment. On a positive note, the trainee was pleasant with me and apologized for the delay, but U-Haul should train their employees better before having them perform tasks on their own.Theresa W.

This location turned my day around. I had a reservation at Normandy Blvd to get a truck and trailer for a day. I go to that location to find out they was over booked. Wasted 2 hrs. I was frustrated to say the least The nice lady made me a new reservation at 5630 Phillip highway. Upon arriving I noticed they had a bigger trailer than the one that was reserved in so I wanted that one. Inside was busy as everywhere is nowdays. The associates busted that line out pretty quick and it was my turn. I noticed everyone working at this location was a female. The associate Danielle was super friendly and got my reservation started. We went out to pick the trailer needed and the trailer lights wasn't working on all 3 trailers we tried. So the manager Ashley came out along w Kedra and switched the trucks out and that fixed the problem so I got to use the trailer we needed. I had a great experience and watched these 3 women do what I typically see all guys do at most uhauls. The store is clean and in good order. I had to extend my reservation by a few hours and when I returned Kedra was working again and made the return process effortless. I seriously will only rent from this location in the future. These 3 ladies deserve a raise because their customer service skills are too notch. And I appreciate all their help.Brittney S.

My unit was infested with roaches and spiders and everyone there failed to do anything about it. When I filed and insurance claim they told them the units have pest control which is impossible. Uhual needs to do better. This is the second time within maybe a year that I've rented and when I've arrived my uhual was not there. Both times I've had to call customer service to switch my pick up location without being notified prior that they truck wasn't there. The location above was great but I will consider using other carriers due this being a repetitive problem and I don't live locally however my family does. It's frustrating making a reservation and then not having a truck ready. It slows everything down.Natrionah M.

1. Please be sure the outside of Vans and trucks are clean. We use you service for our catering events and usually the Vans are very dirty on the outside. 2. It would be nice if you offered less logo options for Business Customers on Vans like Enterprise does for their business customers. I know Uhaul are more geared to home moves. But a business division with less wrapping would be nice.!Terry G.

I was transferred to 3 different locations. The truck was bigger than I requested and instead of only driving 2 miles to pickup and drop off I had to drive 15 miles which cost me more than I planned. I don't think it's fair to the consumer to make us pay more when the reservation was already made. I think someone from uhaul should have drove it to the original location so I wouldn't have had to pay for all those extra miles.MICHELE R.

Get some intelligent, knowledgeable, organized and confident help, not only in the store but at the customer call center also. Then let the right hand know what the left hand is doing. The job got mostly done (the bolts weren't tightened, and cover panels were not put back as shown on your own U Haul Youtube videos) but it was a long drawn out process for what appeared to be a pretty simple hitch installation on a 2017 Chrysler Pacifca.elaina S.

The van I rented only had 13k miles but was horribly roach infested. Well.. First off I reserved a trailer but they didn't have the one I reserved and since I took the day off of work I had to just get a van which made a 20 $move turn into a 150 $move. One thing that drove that price up was the fact I got charged for 2 days. I got the van at 7am and had it back before they opened the next day. Less than 24 hours. Mileage I understand. Wouldn't have had to deal with mileage if I got the trailer I had booked but I guess that's a policy to get more money out of you... I also get that the 2 day thing is some fine print scam to get more money out of you. I've rented trucks/vans and trailers from everywhere for over 20 years. I know how business works... but had they not given me a roach infested van I could have had it back well before 7pm and beat all their fine print technicalities. I had to buy roach bombs and roach spray -60 $ and bomb the van before I could even start loading my stuff. I got to uhaul at 7am as I said but they are slow and just plain dumb and dont know that they are doing so it was a little after 9am by the time I actually got out of there with the van. This was a Thursday and they were not busy. People showed up after 7 and made jokes about clocking in before they help anyone and just went as slow as they could.. So basically I do not get to the beaches until 10am. I open the back and notice the infestation. Then I had to walk an hour to get bombs. Couldnt even call a uber or anyone for help. My phone was in the van and I wasnt getting back in that van or close to it without spray. I'm from the woods. A few roaches don't bother me but this was something out a horror movie. Plus I couldnt afford to go back to uhaul and waste anymore time with them. They do not have a care in the world and have zero hustle or pride in their jobs. I have very little standards when it comes to people living in poverty with low paying jobs like they have. I don't ask for much. As a customer I almost feel disrespected even though they were not blatantly rude. Anyhow back to my day. I walked and its basically noon by the time Im done spraying the van and ready to bomb it. Then I gotta wait 4 hours for the bomb. Why bomb and clean the van and not call or exchange? There was no point in exchanging it because the others would have surely been worse since they don't know how to do basic cleaning on a moving van so I really had NO other option than to do it the way I did... So now its almost 4pm by the time I'm ready to even load the van up... Day wasted. I remember when I was a kid and worked low paying jobs. I slacked off when and where I could but never in front of customers. If I cut corners due to youthful inexperience or just laziness I never got called out on it because it was minor and something people wouldn't notice. I checked the van out before I drove off. The AC or the movement of the van must have brought the roaches out of where ever they were. I would bring this to the attention of the uhaul store but they made it clear they don't care about anything.James H.

I moved my stuff into the storage. The area was way too tight for the moving truck to get through. Also, I tried to sell back boxes that I bought from U-Haul.. the new guy tried to help, but couldn't get it. Then Cedric hopped in and tried his very best to help me. Then the rude GM made a smart comment about me having to leave and get the receipt.. mind you, I purchased these boxes online and had a order code. Extremely ridiculous and a waste of my time.
