The employee at the front desk was not very pleasant at all, I would say he was rather rude. He has very bad customer service skills. He gave the people infront of us a hard time and at first we assumed it was warranted seeing as we had just walked into the conversation. The process was awful from the beginning. They got both the address wrong (from origin to wear I was moving to) and I had to call three separate times to fix the address and each time I was on hold for an hour. Despite fixing the address to deliver to in New York I received two calls that they could not deliver to Manhattan after I already scheduled moving help with someone one on the phone at uhaul. They couldn't determine the problem on their end until I corrected them. The uhaul box arrived 1,5 hours late to which the moving company had to move on to their next moving appointment and I had to wait 2 more hours for them to be free to move in my items.Nhu V.

This company is a fucking joke, reserved a truck for pickup at 9am, get a call at 845 telling me that that location doesn't have a truck for me. They tell me to go to a central store to see if they don't have any there. I go there, where I had reserved a 10x10 locker, they don't have the locker I reserved, but they did get me a truck and the lady there was super nice and helpful despite the company's fuck ups. The essence of my first and ONLY time using UHAUL services, is that your employees are being absolutely tortured by the way the business is run. When I returned my van today, there was one person running store at 230 in the afternoon on a Friday - there were 5 people waiting outside the lobby and ONE GUY running around in 100 degree florida heat. This company treats their customers like shit, their employees like shit - UHAUL is a joke and I will go out of my way to avoid your services in the future!Jeremy G.

I was double charged, with the pre authorization amount and the actual amount both charged. Was told at first contact with U-Haul that the first charge would not post and was just pending. Both charges posted and I now have to wait another 3-5 days to receive my $100. A move is already a HUGE expense, and holding these funds is a giant inconvenience.Kelleen G.
I could never get staff to answer the phone on property. I had specific questions to ask about my unit & despite my efforts; even asking the call center people to reach out to the manger. The lady that dropped the container from the facility did such a wonderful job driving and placing the container on my driveway. She was was personal and professional. The Uhaul website is VERY difficult to navigate and it inexplicably crashes when attempting to login into one's account. Attempting to update, confirm, change your reservation or even do a self return is virtually impossible and EXTREMELY frustrating! When a it takes 15-30 minutes to even log in to the website to return the truck, that wasted time can be the difference between returning the truck on time or being incorrectly charged an additional day is F#*ked Up and must be fixed immediately!!Chris L.

I reserved truck and trailer. Trailer had to be certain size 2 days before pickup at another location. Uhaul contacted me and told me I had to pick them up at this location instead. Went to pick up my reserved truck and trailer and they lent it out to another customer before we got there. They had another truck but not that trailer and we had to use a smaller trailer than what we reserved. I feel that if a customer reserves something ahead of time AND is called by uhaul to pick it up at another location than the one you reserved it at, they should have this equipment for you!!DOMINICK R.

I called your Pine Avenue location and confirmed a trailer. When I got there they said they didn't have it I had to drive five more miles down the road to get my trailer. The woman at the first location was not friendly at all. Acted like she was doing me a favor to send me to the next place. I drove 40 miles to that location. The second location was very good the employees were very helpful and friendly. I would not recommend the first location. It's on Pine Drive in Ocalla. The other one was also on Pine Drive but it was a storage facility. Much better and the employees were very helpful.Rick W.

I returned my trailer on time but they never actually checked it in it took the U-Haul customer service people to call me to ask about it. Worst U-Haul facility ever!! Had to wait in line for 1/2 hour to get the truck when I was the only person in the store. The computer and card machine went down more than 3x. When returning the truck had to wait for 45 minutes with a long line. No associate at the counter for at least 35 minutes. The original place to pick up the truck didn't have one on the day of reservation so I had to travel extra 20 miles to both pick up the truck and return the truck when I only needed it to go maybe 10 miles total. This was a great experience. Everything when exactly as planned. We were very impressed with all the young ladies who brought our boxes and picked them at both locations. The woman from Wilmington was especially efficient, both delivering and picking up our boxes by herself. A real pleasure work with. The two gentlemen who did the loading in Ocala were very efficient and got the job completed just as indicated. We recommend this method to anyone who wants control over their move and wishes to do it economically.JAMES R.

Great staff and plenty of potential but my covered site was basically like parking in a pond. Major water problems which caused problems in my RV. For those of us who work long hours in a day, our ability to get to our storage unit sometimes extends in to the evening. Having early evening restrictions allowing us to visit our storage unit was aggravating. 7:00 pm closures was the norm for the longest period of time. Only this past week did I learn from an employee that the hours were extended until 10:00 pm. I was never told that the hours had changed from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The ironic part, I was vacating my unit this week when I learned of this. On the evening of the 15 of September I stopped at the office to let someone know that my storage unit was vacated and cleaned. There was a sign on the door that who ever was on duty was helping someone out on the grounds and a phone number was given to call. I called that phone number and I got what I call the U-Haul National desk. It took for ever for someone to finally help me, only to disconnect my call before I could tell them why I was calling. Again, another 15 to 20 minutes of waiting for the U-Haul National desk. Now I know the number that was printed on the door sign on the evening of the 15th is the number for that specific U-Haul location at 5555 S. Pine Ave Ocala, Florida as I have had that number logged in to my phone contacts since September 16th 2012. When I dial that number I specifically want to talk to that location and "Not" U-Haul National. I want a brief 30 second / 1:00 minute conversation instead of 20 minutes on hold only to be disconnected. I have tried to call that same number numerous times each day now since the night of the 15th and nobody ever answers the phone at that location. I keep getting U - Haul National. One final thought - Please mention to someone to look in to changing the recorded message for U-Haul National. It's annoying! my previous trailer rentals and Checking in went fine. The day before my check out. I went into the office and explain to them that I need a trailer to rent and will be leaving their facility the next day. The gentleman working the desk looked up my account, help me with the reservations of the trailer I needed and told me it would be no problem leaving the next day to make sure I have a staff member check the unit to verify it is cleaned out when I am done before I leave. The following day around 3:00 I cleaned out the storage unit and rented a trailer from them. the lady who checked me out told me that I owe for one more month because I should have cleared out the day before. I explained to her I was in the day before and the man at the desk told me it would be no problem she informed me that I owe the money and that there's nothing she can do about it and didn't really care. Then she helped me with finalizing the trailer rental and hooking it up. she must have a death wish or was poorly trained, because she tried to stand between my large truck and the trailer to back me up I asked her not to stand there and she gave me some feedback saying she had had to do it way,this is how she was trained. I told her that if my foot slipped off the brake or I accidentally hit the accelerator it would crush her and I am not backing up with her behind my truck. after further discussion I finally convinced her to move out from behind my truck. Then I had a disconnect her trailer because she didn't give me time to lubricate the ball on my hitch. After everything was hooked up I checked the tire pressure on the trailer tires. They were all low the pressure was below 50 lb on each tire with a rating of 65 lb cold tire pressure. when I brought this to her attention she told me that there was an air station inside their fence and that I can fill it up myself. I understand it's not her job to get the trailers rent ready and then if they're indicated rent ready she would expect them to be. But once a defect is found I would expect her to help fix it. Kim was wonderful - exceptionally helpful and went out of her way to accommodate and the location is fairly convenient. Aside from that - the facility is pretty disappointing. We move around quite a bit due to our work and have had storage units at different locations all up and down the coast and the unit we have at this location is without a doubt the worst we've ever had. The inside of the unit is old, run down with graffiti on the walls, the concrete is cracked, the steel girders have completely oxidized and there is actually a "RAT POISON" trap in the unit. I only experienced an issue on the date I wanted to close out the unit. For over a hour and a half, no one was available in the office.
