I was extremely frustrated with this reservation - I made the reservation at the end of February (for May 5th) requesting pickup at the Cave Creek and 101 location (near our house). I had checked on the reservation, and my polite request for the pickup to be at the CC & 101 location. I guess I was under the impression that trucks would be moved around by U-Haul to accommodate reservations. Disappointing that this is not the case.

I was not contacted about the change. I thought if you don't have the rental when you get there you get $50. Nope. Once at Surprise location I was assigned a trailer that was not at the location. It took an extra 30min to find one and get back on the road.

Terra D.The facility is large. When I checked in, the computer told the agent my truck was in one place and it wasn't. It was in another location. I walked literally 20 minutes looking for my truck and was going back in to get help when I stumbled across in all by itself several hundred yards from where I was told it would be. Further, there was absolutely no instruction on driving a truck. This was my first experience and I just winged it. I came out OK but I only went 16 miles in light traffic. I could have used a little guidance. Finally, I was told it had half a tank of gas and I would need to bring it back half full or be charged $6 a gallon for fuel. It was no where near half full when I got it and I was told to take a picture of the gas gauge and tell the guy checking me in about the situation. Not a very professional approach in my mind.

I return the 1 box and U-Haul picked up the other 3. I asked numerous times if all 4 boxes would be shipped together and was told yes. I got a message that 3 boxes were in transit. I inquired about the 4th box and the U-Haul location in San Antonio had no idea where it was at. I called the U-Haul Moving & Storage of Sun City West store and was told that it was still there as they didn't know what to do with it. I was informed that the 4th box was not placed on my original order as I was told. I asked to speak to the manager everyday when I called and could never get in touch with him nor would he call me back. After the 5th day of calling, I finally spoke to the manager and was told I don't know what you are complaining about as you are not paying for shipping, which was already paid when I dropped off the box. I would NOT recommend doing any business with this store as they do not care about your property.

I have used U-Haul since 2017. Even though they do not have competitive rates. This rental experience has been a complete NIGHTMARE. While in the hospital for a serious illness. I cancelled my rental and sent my children to remove items from storage. I called spoke to customer BAD service cancelled the rental and thought how easy. I was promised a call to confirm. Still in the hospital I lost track of time... NO call was ever received, or message left to confirm. 3 calls later when I finally reached the facility I again explained that I had canceled storage and had not received a confirmation call. Then I was told I could only cancel in person. I was never told this initially but again I explained that I was hospitalized and COULD NOT appear in person and that the storage was emptied well within the billing period, I was then told to hold and that this would be confirmed. I waited on hold more than 30 minutes in silence. No ONE CAME BACK TO THE PHONE. i hung and called again. I am so angry at this time nurses are asking me to calm down. I am irate but I explain again to the CSR and she takes my message and promises I woul get a phone call from the manager. I waited 2 DAYS AGAIN no call. In the mean time I receive a bill with a late charge for the same storage room I had been trying to CANCEL FOR A WEEK OR MORE. This entire experience has been deplorable. Finally I call customer service one more time and I was advised there was no record of an account. I still don't believe them. I'd rather THROW ITEMS AWAY than to deal with U-Haul ever again. I would like to rate the negative 10 if I could, particularly on the way they treat customers. And they increased there charges for awful customer service. I worked in customer service, I deal with customer service from other companies, but I have never such horrible, disregard for a long time paying customer.

This facility is the WORST and I will be sure to advise anyone of this if they are considering renting a unit. Just awful.

Turns out she lied when she said a repairman came out and it was fixed. Another person said no one was called to come out and repair it. I was sold 2 locks for both units, then found out there was already a lock in each unit, but still charged me for the ones i didnt need. Only 1 elevator for the size of this location is ludicrous. It needs at least 2.

She made the experience of returning the trailer we had rented in Detroit and accessing our free 30-day storage unit there a very pleasant experience. The young man sold me a lock and did not tell me to put it on immediately.He did not have me sign a contract, I recived a call from Jennifer regarding the contract. I said I would be in to sign. I never can get thru to the Surprise office. Sat 6=27 another call from Jennifer wanting to know if I had moved out, I hadn't even moved in. Because I did not put my lock on the leased the unit to someone else. So I spent another hour getting a different unit rented and locked up. I feel the service was very poor until I talked with Jennifer face to face. I now have a unit and we are moving items in on Thursday. Your phone service is terrible, Put on hold forever and then you don't talk to who called you and they person you do talk to does not know what they problem is. This has not been a good experience. We were customers for several years and apparently this is meaningless to U Haul, so should we ever need storage again we WILL NOT use U Haul ever again. You made 30 dollars and lost a customer for life. We will never ever use anything Uhaul again... Period. Friends and family are warned to steer clear. Hope it was worth it.
