there's a lot to say and i have no time for it now, to keep it short though: reading the fine print in contracts with U-HAUL while waiting in a line at your desk is impossible to do really and customers may initial and sign certain clauses that could cause problems for them later!

I rented a truck and 3 U-boxes from this location . Everything has been wrong every step of the way. The location of the ubox loading was changed without notification the day before. That was resolved after several hours on the phone . When my family was loading the boxes, the tustin location called to tell me I needed to by locks and offered insurance. I gave her my payment information for the one time payment and she somehow changed my payment on file without my permission so the uboxes charged to the incorrect card. Sounds like poor training because she swore that payment was only for the locks and insurance. Then I've been calling every day for five days to have the issue resolved and nobody is calling me back and I just get the run around. I supposedly have messages in with the gm of tustin and the field manager for several days now Problem is they already took the money (even though it was unauthorized) so they couldnt care less. I have now filed a complaint with the BBB Although uhaul won't care anyway judging by their actions so far. My next step is to file a claim with my bank for the unauthorized charges. When the charges get reversed I'm sure they will then finally call me. Hopefully the location in Burlington, nj is better and at least gets the drop off right. If not it would be a complete failure at litterally every step of the proccess. I will never use any uhaul service again!

Even though we had to pick up the truck an hour later than scheduled due real estate business, we had rescheduled the pickup time. When we arrived the truck was not ready. They sent us outside but no truck. Then we had to wait a half hour until they located the truck. Not a smooth pickup.

I wasn't used to the new system requiring my cell phone to receive an email link to procede with the rental. It has some advantages, but can be more difficult. The truck cab was not vacuumed before hand and the old guy assigned to do the walk-around inspection was kind of rude and less than helpful. He walked away before I was finish inpecting the truck. I was also told that the insurance coverage I purchased did not cover window damage. If true, that is a big problem. No matter how safe I drive or precautions I take, it would be near impossible to prevent a rock kicked up from another car or windshield defects. And I feel this would be completely unfair to a renter if these happened. Lastly, I didn't know that the smaller box-trucks didn't come with a lock. This was something I was hoping for when I rented the truck.

I have no complaints about the rental office or procedure. The van I rented was brand new and perfect, except it did not appear to have power door locks, nor remote adjustment for the split mirrors, those would have been greatly appreciated.

Ray Bauer Jr. in New Rochelle , NY uhaul location was the best. Helpful & on time, great employee. On the Tustin, CA side things were very different. Multiple calls came from multiple people at uhaul giving us different times for delivery, did not call back when we left a message, could not get delivery when we wanted & had to wait Once we emptied the boxes, they sat here because uhaul could not pick them up on time. Luckily our apartment community was patient with us blocking parking spaces longer than expected. Uhaul in Tustin was awful. Uhaul in New Rochelle, NY was wonderful. Way too many pads that took up a lot of space in the boxes.

Online pickup- what is the point? Express checkout??? That’s not true either. Still had to go inside, stand in line and deal with front desk attendant who gave impression of being bored, tired or both. I’m addition had to verify 2 phone numbers due to “a new policy that just came into effect 2 weeks ago” — not a problem, but website had no such policy listed. Typically people don’t answer phones from commercial businesses due to spam, etc. I luckily didn’t have any problems, but just flat out odd??? Bottom line check out is a hassle still , return was quick (thank goodness). All around could have been smoother, but got job done. Average.

I did not have a reservation, so I felt I received relatively fast and good service at the counter. There is no “queue” line for waiting customers however. That would be a good idea to implement, so that there’s less confusion on “who’s next?” In line. There was a backup in the lot, but the guys working out there were visibly working hard and attentive. That is IMPORTANT. One of the guys came up to my window, asked what I was getting (a trailer), and organized a way for me to get the trailer hooked up among the congestion, so I could get out of there sooner than later. I really appreciated that.

The driverside mirror was a little loose and would move while driving but it would stay where adjusted when not driving. I had issues with a lock at public storage and had my truck for three days and it sat unused for two, Andrew was understanding and helped me out the best he could. Much appreciated.

I got to say that the service with the sales representative it was good and professional but the person outside it was to slow, sloppy and Lazy , He even ask for my help to do some of the hook ups and connections. And maybe i have to b more specific, because it was 2 persons outside, one dark skin and one white person So I'm talking about a white person.

I like the convenient location, however had quite the problem. My truck # didn't apparantly match my contract #. We returned our 26 ft truck , but still waiting to see if things are worked out. Our check out location must have put the wrong truck # in. Also found it very confusing at this Tustin location and maybe not so professional. Hope this all gets worked out! Don't want to be on Uhaul's E list.

Make the check-in process easier! We spent time at home at a computer filling in loads of information ahead of time and yet needed a significant amount more when we got there. Why could we not have done that at the same time and avoided hanging around trying to find signal and shade to fill in basic information on the app?

U-Haul switched the drop off location to a city 15 miles away. When I called to ask why I was told because the location we were moving to had all of the trailers they needed. So we drove out of our way (again) to supplement a location that needed the trailer. And when unloading the ratchets for the tire straps would not release. Not for us or for the U-Haul yard person. I have rented many trucks and trailers from U-Haul and there is a problem of some sort every time. I will not recommend U-Haul nor will I ever rent a vehicle from them again.

The guy on the computer than rang me up seemed to be generally unhappy and low energy. He kept talking about wanting to leave work already and about how bad the computer system is. Finally, when I dropped off the truck after hours there was a lady that did not get full instructions and dropped off the keys before finalizing the steps required online. This is due to the employees not guiding her through the steps for after hour drop off

The qualifying process is a bit ridiculous. I do not have 2 phone numbers, which is common in this day and age. My cell phone is my work phone, and who owns a landline anymore? They made me call somebody to verify a second contact. I called 5 people, nobody picked up, which isn’t a surprise since it was a work day during work hours. My wife texted me ‘is everything ok? I’m in all day workshops. Oddly enough, my wife’s text confirmation was not enough even though her text message confirms that she knows me and the number is accurate. I then ask what other ‘qualifying’ options they have. Second ID? Bank account? One way was to give a lease agreement, which I do not have since I own a home. I ask them if I can show them my bank statement with Bank of America with my two home mortgages. I own 2 homes, both well over a million dollars in Irvine, CA. I was moving a few things from one home to the other. Paying with an American Express Platinum. I even mentioned that they could put a hold on my credit card or debit card for the value of the car. Finally, they mentioned that they could take a picture of my bank statement to confirm my ‘lease agreement’. What a pain in the ass. I understand underwriting to avoid fraud and theft. Pretty sure that you completely missed the target hassling me. And the staff was terrible for what its worth.

The way Andrew made me feel as a poor Hispanic person. He said when I return the U Hual truck that I wouldn't have enough to pay with my debit card for the miles the I drived. I have rented before and the service was excellent with your other employees. I am very disappointed in the service this time.

Key did not work for passenger door. After I had the truck loaded, the back gate got jammed at the roofline and I had to wait 2 hours for emergency road service which cost me an important client delivery. And the worst part is your employee told me this happens all the time. Ridiculous to operate equipment rental with problematic closure. I will NEVER use U-Haul again nor will I allow my business nor family. Very poor attitude on the part of your employees.

Although I had arranged all this on the phone, I was informed that when I arrived there was no truck rental on the reservation. I was then directed to 3 different U-Haul locations to go and pick up a rental truck and bring it back for the ubox.

Please stop nit picking on the condition of the truck. These trucks are used a lot and trying to look for scratches when a customer returns the truck is crazy. Also, not much street parking nearby to park the car.

this is my 4th time that we use your Vans and trucks and every time we get them they are fealty, this time I requested to give me a clean one. and still was dirty. they change the Van for a clean one but that delay me for 1/2 hour so I do not understand why we make reservations then.
