The guy on the computer than rang me up seemed to be generally unhappy and low energy. He kept talking about wanting to leave work already and about how bad the computer system is. Finally, when I dropped off the truck after hours there was a lady that did not get full instructions and dropped off the keys before finalizing the steps required online. This is due to the employees not guiding her through the steps for after hour drop off

The qualifying process is a bit ridiculous. I do not have 2 phone numbers, which is common in this day and age. My cell phone is my work phone, and who owns a landline anymore? They made me call somebody to verify a second contact. I called 5 people, nobody picked up, which isn’t a surprise since it was a work day during work hours. My wife texted me ‘is everything ok? I’m in all day workshops. Oddly enough, my wife’s text confirmation was not enough even though her text message confirms that she knows me and the number is accurate. I then ask what other ‘qualifying’ options they have. Second ID? Bank account? One way was to give a lease agreement, which I do not have since I own a home. I ask them if I can show them my bank statement with Bank of America with my two home mortgages. I own 2 homes, both well over a million dollars in Irvine, CA. I was moving a few things from one home to the other. Paying with an American Express Platinum. I even mentioned that they could put a hold on my credit card or debit card for the value of the car. Finally, they mentioned that they could take a picture of my bank statement to confirm my ‘lease agreement’. What a pain in the ass. I understand underwriting to avoid fraud and theft. Pretty sure that you completely missed the target hassling me. And the staff was terrible for what its worth.

The way Andrew made me feel as a poor Hispanic person. He said when I return the U Hual truck that I wouldn't have enough to pay with my debit card for the miles the I drived. I have rented before and the service was excellent with your other employees. I am very disappointed in the service this time.

I have had nothing but great experiences with renting a moving truck from the Tustin U-Haul location three times during this past year. They always had a truck available, the office members were always polite and quick and the trucks have been cleaner with every rental. Thank you, El Camino, Tustin U-Haul.

Key did not work for passenger door. After I had the truck loaded, the back gate got jammed at the roofline and I had to wait 2 hours for emergency road service which cost me an important client delivery. And the worst part is your employee told me this happens all the time. Ridiculous to operate equipment rental with problematic closure. I will NEVER use U-Haul again nor will I allow my business nor family. Very poor attitude on the part of your employees.

I had called previously to have ubox arranged to be put on a trailer and hitched to a rental truck. Although I had arranged all this on the phone, I was informed that when I arrived there was no truck rental on the reservation. I was then directed to 3 different U-Haul locations to go and pick up a rental truck and bring it back for the ubox.

Please stop nit picking on the condition of the truck. These trucks are used a lot and trying to look for scratches when a customer returns the truck is crazy. Also, not much street parking nearby to park the car.

this is my 4th time that we use your Vans and trucks and every time we get them they are fealty, this time I requested to give me a clean one. and still was dirty. they change the Van for a clean one but that delay me for 1/2 hour so I do not understand why we make reservations then.

They gave me the wrong truck. I requested the 15’ and got a 10’ not knowing the difference. Then had to make multiple trips and told to call the store I was dropping the truck off at to get the miles reduced after all the inconviace they put me through. Costumer service was very helpful and sweet I’m thankful for the lady who helped me at the end dispite everything.

Install kiosks like McDonalds since your employees are inefficient and repeat the same words over and over like robots with attitude. Gets annoying after being in line for an 1 hour with only 5 customers ahead and 2 employees on site. This has happens on several occasions. That why I started using penske even though it cost more but saves me a headache. One was actually at the front appeared as she was doing nothing then decided to actually take care of a customer 20min later. This place needs new box trucks. Current ones are run down. Brakes are done for on most of them. Doors get stuck and your basically guaranteed to get your hand injured. I understand you have a mobile app needs work. I literally saw people being guided to use it at the office. I was able to get my box truck and leave first. While the customers were in the truck check-in area with a I don't know what to do faces. The place just needs a fleet upgrade mainly the box trucks. Complete restructure of employees specially the GM and his second in command sort of bald shorter Hispanic. They always have a passive aggressive approach to customers. Please look into it your company does provide great rates but with the attitude and horrible customer services makes me regret my reservations for today. I should of just spent another $40-50 extra at Penske. I arrived at my reservations time and left an hour later. Running my schedule and timeframe.

The online check in is confusing. Your employees aren’t trained to help customers though the online checking process. Your employees should be trained to assist customers with both iOS or android devices. As a customer, hearing from your employees the problem is with you iOS device, seems like an glitch that needs to be worked out before encouraging your customers to use your online registration. . Upon returning the vehicle there were no instructions on what to do with the dollies and blankets we rented so we left them in the truck but the truck had no lock so anyone could potentially steal them . Good afternoon, I made a reservation in the App to pick up the truck at 7:00 am. I was in the location at 7:00 am following the instructions to get the key from the box. It was impossible to open the box even with the help of someone from U-HAUL by text ... finally the box could not be opened and I had to come back at 9:00 am for someone's assistance. Then the car I had assigned did not starting and I had to wait longer for another contract. And besides all this, I did not like the attitude of the girl who assisted me personally. The line this morning had 7 plus people waiting when I arrived at my designated time. I had completed everything online through the mobile app but still had to wait the same amount of time to speak to a rep to pick up my truck. Although the rep was knowledgeable and polite, the experience wasn’t great considering I took the time to complete online and was still waiting the same amount of time. Might consider adding more staff or if you use mobile check in allow us to go directly to the truck pick up and bypass the counter check out.

Andrew the general manager is fantastic along with the rest of the crew . However there is a young lady works there she was behind the counter when I submitted my order for a cargo van . She never once smiled she yawned three times while she was doing the paperwork . she looked very tired and seemed that she did not want to be there . being in customer service like I am this is very important to feel welcome . She did not do that . Maybe she was having a bad day I don’t know . Everything else has been great at that location I rent a cargo van 2 to 3 times a month from there.

OMG! Who is the manager here? I am not a customer service guru., Just a custmer. Let me share with you my experience. The place is dark, the wainting space is cramped. I do understand that I am renting a moving truck. They are not happy to see you. The gentleman who helped me on Friday was not there on Saturday. He was trying he was understanding. However he was not trained well. I went in to reserve a vehicle for Saturday for 4 hours and to reserve a Unit for a month. He and I were assured that no money had to be done. I was willing to do it. I did not receive a confirmation number or paper work. No text to reassure me. I though ok well NO NOT OKAY Forgive me if this is a bit long So Friday niight I end up with food poisoning from bad Sushi. SO Saturday afternoon I am not feeling well at all. The gentleman who helps when I walk up is not user friendly at all. No smiles no thank you for choosing U-Haul. He says something and I am not sure what it was. However I am sure it is "name" not Hello Sir Thank You for choosing U-Haull How can I help you today? Oh you have a reservation great what is the last name Sir. NO NONE of that. number next my storage unit was not reserved. I asked the young lady next to us who works for U-Haul. "Do you remember me coming in yesterday" Because when I came in Friday she was sitting there No one else was around and maybe she would say "oh yes I kind of remember or better I am sorry Sir I remember you coming in but I unfortunatlley didn't work with you. NO NO what I heard her say was "I didn't help you" I felt like no one on U-Haul was there to help. It was NOT MY MISTAKE the reservation was not done correctly YET I had to deal with U-Haul's mistake. There was a unit available. BUT the stress especially with my being sick was unnecessary. I just wanted to help you with your customer service. If you would like more suggestions in the future feel free to ask. Oh the guys in the yard. THEY ROCK. Kind courteous Yes Sir's, Please Thank You's they say hello when you walk up. They smile. The ones in the office need to get outside and charge up on sunligh

Not enough staff. The gentleman that helped me check in and get my truck was short handed, leaving him in a rude and rushed state. He helped a customer that arrived 10 minutes after me first, then when I asked why I wasn’t being helped handed me the key, pointed to the truck in the lot and said “that’s your truck over there.”

I reserved a 9' cargo van and was told it would be available when I reserved it. I never received notification that the van was not available UNTIL I showed up at the alotted day and time. I was forced to take a larger van which caused extra expense and damage to my moved items. This bait and switch tactic is unacceptable. I was also given a truck with apparent mechanical and safety issues. The brakes barely worked and an external light was hanging off the truck. Your employee used black electrical tape to "tape" the light back up. The tape didn't hold and the light was hanging again when I returned the truck. I had my 11 year old daughter with me and I was scared for our safety the entire time we had the vehicle. I returned the truck early because it was not safe to use longer. I need a refund.

The seats in the 10’ truck are some of the most uncomfortable I have ever used in any truck. The upright position causes a person to lean forward while driving and does not push forward enough to allow a shorter person(5’7”) to reach the pedals comfortably. I had my helper (6’2”) sit in the drivers seat and he also found the seat to put hin in an awkward driving position.

I had reserved a furniture dolly. When I arrived they said they never have this ! The truck was dirty. It was probably not washed for a month. Nobody helped me with the walk around and acceptance of the truck. They said follow the App and take pictures of the scratches. I wanted to upgrade to larger truck. They just said we don't have any available and did not offer any other option. I will look for other options for my next move.

When i first got there the guy at the counter was talking so quiet i couldnt hear him due to an ear piece. When he brought up my reservation he said someone outside had given away my dolly i reserved he said he gave me a free large dolly. Which was too heavy for the purchase i needed it for. I dropped off uhaul at location no one c ame up to greet me so i started to park out back cause sign said to stop there during bus hours, but it was after hours. I started to park and got told i was supp to park over at behinning by some guy in a black wife beater shirt that claimed to b a employee. I stopped in mid back like he said, feeling chastisted he moved his suv from the spot in back to somewhere else. I did the walk around stuff and a young lady in green uniform got mad at me for parking in back almost to the point of yelling at me. I said no one was there so i tried to park and guy in black wife beater told me to stop. She she no employee's ever dont wear uniforms in a mean tone of voice like i was lying or something(Im a pastors wife, i dont lie) I still cant believe how mean she was too me. I walked and found the key drop and left.

The customer service rep at the counter did not communicate a short term rental. I thought it was a 24 hour rental. I picked up the truck at 3pm and at 7:30am the next day, I received a call from a UHall rep asking for the truck. He was very short with me on the phone - told me to return the truck and was very unprofessional. I shop this location several times and the attitude from the staff is very poor. The only reason I continue to return is because it's close to my home. I run a 16 store retail chain and I would like to hear from my customers good or bad. Thank you for the opportunity.

The way customer service staff communicate to clients is unclear, especially when unforeseen extensions have to happen. Using fear tactics to get customers to return vehicles faster isn't the most pleasant type of experience (especially when you had extra vehicles in the shop).

The location is fine but the reservation system is bad. I made my one way reservation at my closest location. And the reservation succeed. However, they called me to tell me the truck is not available in my prefer location a few hours later. I called back to figure out a solution. Two staff answered the phone were not nice and not helpful. First, If the truck is not available why the website even gave me that option at the beginning?? Although, Uhaul only used words "order" confirmed and "prefer" location but still that's very sneaky. Second, your call center staff are not customer friendly. Maybe UHaul should pay them more so they can do their job happier. Not a very good experience. Will try to use other brands in the future.

Let your customers know what their final costs might be. I had a short local move (21 miles total). It goes from $19.95 to almost $90.00. What gives with that? Also, when I picked up the truck, nothing was explained to me regarding the seat adjustment or what controlled what.

I rent from this location all the time and I have rented many times. I tried the online check out process this time and the experience was really bad. Earlier with regular process i used to get the keys in 5 mins or less, this time even after 40 minutes and 2 attempts to complete the process, I did not get the keys due to long time it was taking to verify my reservation. I had to abandon that process and went thru the normal process..I will not use the online process again ..

The young man taking in the vehicles did not understand how the steeering was loose. You could move the steering wheel 30degrees in both directions without the tires moving. That should not happen. It made driving the truck scary as it wouldn’t respond as needed.

Better customer service. Upon returning I was almost charged for gas because not returned full. It was marked incorrectly. Fortunately I had paperwork in hand that showed 1/4 not full. Also, had changed reservation from 4hrs to 24 hrs and was going to be charged for not returning it within 4 hrs despite taking to someone and changing reservation. I have used this location in past and no issues. Very frustrating especially as I was dealing with difficult issues-reason why renting truck.
