Uhaul was very dirty inside like it was never cleaned since the beginning of time. Tires were partially flat, not up to par. Uhaul truck needs a tune up or something as the truck that i received was dangerous at times to drive. Not a good overall experience at all!

The General Manager Sonya, was very rude and disrespectful in handling a request to refund my monies, due to the fact I was unable to use the unit rented. She lied and said "they do not give refunds", when corporate stated it was at the managers discretion. The store employee lied and said my card was charged when we left the store, when the fact is that, there is a hold placed on your card, you have the option to pay as you choose upon return. She, Sonya, lied and said "the employee was told by my husband to charge my card", and that too was not true, he had cash to pay if they didn't give us a refund, which she had the power to do. After all the going back and forth, She, Sonya hung the phone up in my face, and refused to answer when I called to get her last name to report the incident to her superior....such poor management skills! That's why we have upper management, which is very much aware of this story....This is not the first incident with this store...but definitely my the last.

Long wait time (25+ minutes). I rented the truck for 22 miles and was subject to a 63$ refuel fee. (Great way to alienate customers). Decided to spend 20 minutes refueling 2 gallons of fuel. Employees asked me to perform a part of their job function (testing vehicle lights, etc). Uhaul going down the tubes.

The return process was kind of a mess. I guess people just drove in to the vehicle return lane, parked their rental truck and walked away. To drop off our auto transport we had a fairly long wait and then had to drive around to the exit and back into the drop off point, which was also clogged with trucks on the side and trailers in the narrow lane. But overall, we like this location because it has a nice supply of equipment.

U haul truck ran out of gas while picking up at their location. Also, they need more help too. I used the uhaul app and it was a waste of time as had to enter the information again upon arrival. When arriving at the drop off location, it shows zero miles out? It also showed the gas at just under 1/2 when it was actually on empty.

NEVER USE UHAUL!!!! My car broke down on the 40 freeway right near Barstow, CA and I needed to rent a trailer to tow it back to Lake Havasu City, AZ – 2.5 hrs away. The Barstow location had no trailers available, the next closest city was Victorville, CA – 40 minutes away. I called in and left my info so when my friend's wife could call in and give her husband's info, apparently the agents don't know how to save reports. After dealing with three different agents trying to reserve a trailer, one agent kept trying to send my friend out even further – Hesperia, Fontina (no where near the 40) and even Riverside (45 minutes from LA!). Frustrated, I hung up and cooled down before calling back. I got another agent that FINALLY got a reservation, but the trailer had to be picked up in Victorville. Two minutes after making this reservation, I got a call back that my friend would have to pick up the trailer in Hesperia, CA (3.5 hrs from LHC, AZ). When my friend got there, the place was closed and no trailers were in sight. Not happy, I called back and complained about what happened, and spoke to another agent that said there were two trailers in Victorville and one in Barstow – I was told neither location had them when I called the first time. Since my friend had to drive through Victorville to come get me and my car in Barstow, I reserved one. Five minutes before the Victorville location closes, someone calls me to let me know that they are closing and I demand that they better stay open bc my friend was driving from Hesperia to pick up this trailer to come get me and my car from Barstow – I was in Barstow at 11:30 am and it was now going on 8pm! A few minutes later my friend showed up and the guy called me back for my car info and about charges and I said that for this entire hassle that I've had to deal with all day because you guys can't do your job I shouldn't have to pay! I told him to get the trailer and my friend's truck so he could come get me and my car and I don't care what it takes – just get it done!!! My friend FINALLY arrived in Barstow, CA at 10:45 pm – he left LHC at 3pm!!! NEVER RENT FROM UHAUL!!!!! THEY LIE TO YOU ABOUT HAVING WHAT YOU NEED AND THEN MAKE YOU DRIVE HOURS OUT OF YOUR WAY TO GET WHAT YOU RESERVED AND THEN CHANGE EVERYTHING ON YOU. This location needs to print out a map of AZ/CA from the 40 and 10 freeways, mark the Uhaul locations and understand the driving distance between locations. When you drive from AZ to CA or vice versa...you will be driving in desert conditions with no plans to stop or pee. Some distances are at least an hour or longer between points. Uhaul has the worst service ever and the next time I need to rent a truck or trailer, I'll be using Budget or Penske.

I think this location need help staffing employees. I arrived @7:10am...with a 7am appt and immediately when I arrived I was greeted with a sign on the door that customer service was on the lot. The note was very pleasant and polite...evem left a phone number to reach them while they were on the lot...(checking in truck rental returns) but when I called...it was a personal cell phone that went directly to voicemail. But when I finally got some help...the staff double teamed me with EXCELLENT customer service. I had a issue with my tail light not working...and a employee advised me that I would be able to leave with the rental trailer if my lights didnt wprk properly. Safety is #1 at this location and i was happy about that. The rep went above and beyond to check all of my fuses related to the turn signal. And when all of my fuses were not blown, the rep offered an adapter piece to plug up the trailer. I was able to purchase the adapter in the parking lot with the swipe of my car...amd the rep went inside and grabbed it for me. Most people don't habe this kind of energy this early in the morning. I hope this location gets the staffing help they need. Regardless of being short staffed...the employees at this location picked up the slack in a huge way...and still managed to get other customers checked in and taken care of. BIG KUDOS. I don't always move or need rental equipment...but I will definitely refer everyone that ask.

When I told the guy who was wearing glasses he just took off and told me with rude that he is busy and took off and and i was there First he start helping other person who came way after me. 4. Truck had no Gas totally Empty. I had to go to the Costco and wait in the line to put fuel and wait for long time. 6 It Should be Mandatory truck should come with 1/4 Tank off Gas. Mark Narang.

I reserved the truck online. We got to the location and we couldn't get the truck as we were not receiving the instructions to do so. I called CS and I was on hold for 30 min so I decided. We spoke to one of the people there and he said, he will help but really waited until the store opened at 9 am. We have been there since 8 am. When we finally got in he scolded us on why the online reservation didnt work. Then asked for four references. What if I didnt have four people to provide, will I be able to rent anything. It is ridiculous.

There was a cashier there named Sonya that wasn’t directly rude, just a generally rude attitude. I was behind a couple in line that wanted to rent a trailer at this location and return somewhere else, before they could finish saying what they wanted Sonya cut them off by saying, “not worth it.” So The couple ended up renting it for two days and having to return it to this location. Then when it came to my turn, the credit card panel said $237 and I asked why and she responded it will only charge $137. I explained to her that I understood what she was saying, but I wanted to make sure, that I was not in fact going to be charged that extra $100 for a deposit. The way she was explaining things to me was very demeaning and made me feel inferior and incompetent.

Called 800# again, to make a change to the reservation, on hold for 20 minutes, listening to recording telling me that you can make changes online, go to website and all it says for changes call 800#, someone needs to update that recording!!!! terrible overall service! Hope to never need them again!

The customer service is horrible! We waited an hour just to receive the moving van, even though I reserved it. I understand that it takes time but they didn’t really review or go over much or explain much and shoved us through and everything was very confusing. We brought back the equipment that same day after moving all day long and it took over an hour to just return it. The slowest service I’ve ever had. No one was communicating well or seemed to know anything. And then they tried to short me $100 for my security deposit. They said I overpaid that morning by giving them $180 ($100 for the security deposit and $80 for the rental and assumed mileage in cash) Then when it was returned under the mileage that we assumed, they tried to say I was only reviving $30 when my total ended up only being $67 They couldn’t even handle basic math because they said the “computer can only calculate for recieving $100” Mind you, I was working with the same guy David from that morning who took the initial $180 himself and it was on my receipt! It took two people and an hour to get it taken care of finally and then they made me feel like I was rushing them or inconvinced them by letting them know that they messed up. Then proceeded to tell me that I was only suppose to give them $100 total as the cash deposit and that the rental and fees would be taken out of that, but no one told me that in the morning, even when he had taken the money and we counted it out in front of him. I would never return to this Uhaul location again and possibly never return to uhaul period. We spent more time and stress renting the uhaul than we did moving an entire 1800 sq ft home in that one day!

I was told I would receive a free storage unit for a month that would accommodate my 20’ truck. So I got a storage unit in Pasadena and they wouldn’t accommodate the belongings that fit in my truck. They weren’t knowledgeable about the size. My stuff didn’t fit fr my truck it was wet, and dark and the worst part of all is I wasn’t informed the loading dock would be off limits due to construction and what would’ve taken me a couple of hours took me 8 hours. The advertising was bullshit and they didnt care to fix the situation unless I paid for it. That’s probably why the storage was free. Who would pay for a storage that doesn’t fit my stuff fr my truck size. Nobody offered me a split level and they could care less. The best customer service I received was fr the 800 number telling me where to drop off the car. Otherwise I’ll NEVER use uhaul again!!

My only complaint was that the gas tank in the 26’ truck was empty and “WE” had to fill it. Yes they gave us a gas credit but it was inconvenient.And yes, they explained that they have a problem with gas siphoning so maybe that should be addressed at all UHaul stores. Other than that it was a good experience.

I recently transitioned from Nevada to California aand needed to rent a Pick up truck and trailer to tow a vehicle that was still in Nevada. So instead of flying back to nevada I decided to rent a Pick up truck and trailer so my dad and I could take a road trip together. When we went down to the office after making and online reservation with confirmation. We Couldn't get a pick up truck for rent because for one; I didn't have my dmv renewal card with me... So then left the office to go pick my dad up from where I dropped him off to get supplies... We get back to the same office and then it was an issue with my dad's license not "scanning" via the bar code scanner ..which he just received from the California DMV which he paid 51.00 for... Apparently the computer wouldnt allow the manager to "go back" to the uhauls computer system to allow a rescan of my dads licence. So we were first told that we would have to show another form of I.D. (I.e. passport, military I.D., Housedeed or proof of income). Afyer minutes of back and forth the manager said that she would be able to rent us a 10 foot box truck, WHICH we absolutely did not need.. We wanted just a pick up truck because out main purpose was to tow a vehicle from Nevada to California. No other belongings. Just the vehicle... So we agreed to that since we did not want to drive home to get my dad's military I.d. and return a third time to the office. So as they were preparing the truck and trailer apparently after hooking the trailer to the ten foot box truck the "only car towing trailer available" had one wheel that was locked up and would not spin freely due to the wheel fender having been damaged by running into something when caused the wheel fender to bend downward and pressing against the tire. So we were told to stand by and they can look to see what locations nearby have a trailer which we could to and pick up, on OUR dime mind you. Oh and what was really odd to us is that right next where we were all standing (less than 10 feet away) were 3.. Yes THREE.. Brand new car towing trailers that the workers and manager were not allowed to rent out because they were "Not Released Yet." Which we did not really understand because they were sitting right there in the uhaul parking area with all the other uhaul trailers, Fully assembled and had stickers... Furious and frustrated at this point my father and I decided the we could fix the fender issue ourselves. We pryed the fender back into it original position, notified the workers, finished our inspection of uhauls equipment and hit the road. Now my question is. Why could we rent a ten foot box truck but not an 8 foot pick up truck with a car towing trailer? Why would trailers "Not be Released?" What other options should we have been offered? I feel as if we were Lied too...when we asked about another trailer that was made for a vehicle to drive onto with all four wheels opposed to a "tow dolly" trailer. I tried to rent a pickup truck from one of my local UHaul facilities but was told that the only place I could rent one was at the Victorville location which is about 6 miles away and added about 12 miles to my mileage charges. I only needed the truck for a couple of hours and ended up paying additional mileage because I couldn't rent one closer to home.

It would appear that the owner of the "Franchise" needs to "re-think" his daily staffing including % of men vs women on any one shift. Apparently this site has a staff of 6 (3 men/3 women) and when I arrived there were but the 3 women (1 of which was in training). With more customers outside needing help than inside the "store", I cringed at the thought of no employee constantly being in the store . . . as it might relate to customer frustration and shoplifting! As owner of the business, I would be looking long-range for another "site" per the growing traffic congestion in that area (especially regarding "new-bees" renting equipment they barely know how to drive or maneuver)! Without prejudice, the 2 women "wiring" the rental being pulled did an impressive job in solving a wiring issue (at the sacrifice of waiting customers, however . . .) Gratefully, I had no problems with the rental and most appreciative of that!!!
