The employees were rude and very unprofessional. Didn't have everything in stock that I ask for. When I return the truck an employee said the people in the office went home because they didn't want to deal with customers.

No lighting on the facility or inside the units so its impossible to see inside after dark. Staff was always friendly and helpful. I was located at the WEST Columbia site in SC of Orchard. This site had a .problem with bookkeeping. One time they accidentally got the locks switch on my storage so they had to issue me a new lock because they didnt know which key belong to my storage, I paid my storage off August 2019 and removed all my items out of this storage unit into my new resident. Almost a year later July of 2020 they contact me saying they about to sell my unit. I explain to them I moved my items out in August 2019. They state its items within the unit and because they found a letter with my name on it, the items must belong to me. I explained that when I cleaned my stuff out it did become dark. I may have accidentally left a paper or two because it was dark but my items was removed August 2019. How could I have a storage there for an entire year and it never got sold, I never got a letter or a call until July 2020, That it was an error.

Nothing, I was very satisfied with the service. Broderick, the guy that connected the trailer to my vehicle was very polite and caring. The first trailer was a 6x12 and he had hooked it up and I needed the 5x12. He was still polite and made the change without any complaints. I appreciate the General Manager, Mr. Wade. He was polite checking me out and he greeted me on the return and professionally. I will recommend this U-Haul location to my friends and will definitely using them again. He told me I had to call my bank instead of helping me he blew me off. I need someone from corporate to contact me to get this resolved.

The onsite employee was great, but he was the only one working and was doing a good job of juggling all of the customers coming in. There was a problem with my truck and he was great to replace it and get me going, but it was still much later than I was planning. I ALWAYS have to wait at least 10-15 minutes on the phone when I call the UHAUL main number. When I finally get someone on the phone they are great, but it seems that the common thread with UHAUL is do not be in a hurry...

Get someone else to manage your location. The manager was rude and very unprofessional. I contacted customer service and guess who called me back. The manager and her manager didn't want to help at all.

I reserved my equipment in Lexington SC. Which is close to my house and where I was moving. I was sent 22 miles out of my way due to equipment availability. I was stuck paying for an extra 44 miles because of equipment availability.

I walked in to inquire about a truck because my 10' truck I had reserved wasn't at the 2339 Two Notch Rd U-Haul location (broke down) They didn't even call to tell me. So I stopped at this 400 Orchard Dr U-Haul location on the way home to see if they had any trucks available. She said no (I saw several trucks in the lot) So I left & went to the U-Haul location closest to my home on S. Lake Dr. Lexington, SC (Midgard Self Storage 803-490-1126) They looked online & found me a 15' truck at the 400 Orchard Dr location I had just left. It would be available at 5:00pm (res# 96509074). So I took care of the new reservation & cancelled the other one. Then I went back to 400 Orchard Dr to pick up the truck. It took a while to get finalized as they had only one lady working there with several customers. She was pregnant & had to go outside in the 95 degree heat to hook up a trailer. Then there was no time to clean out the truck, I told her never mind - I had to get going. Then I got charged way more $ because it was a 15' truck and they didn't give me the same mileage deal as the original reservation (95787164) When I dropped it off the next day two ladies were working & both were too busy to talk to me - one was on the phone & took the keys & said she'd email me the receipt. Then I banged my foot real hard on their door stop & limped back to my car.

The Associate helping me in the morning when I picked up the truck was not friendly at all. She was not rude but never smiled once, I tried to have a short conversation twice and I was answered with one word and nothing more. No eye contact and no personality. The gentleman when I returned the vehicle was opposite, he was very friendly, smiled, and was appreciative of the business.

I had to clean and wipe up spilled oil from the previous user. Apparently whoever used this trailer before me hauled lawn equipment and it leaked oil all over the floor of the trailer.

Almost everything. The entire experience was truly awful and I would not recommend UHaul to any of my family/friends. The customer service was terrible at the locations and the only good service I received was from the corporate level when I was calling to question where my box was. My box was 2 weeks late, simply because no one checked in on the boxes each day to see which ones should've been shipped out. I was moving cross country and was not able to do certain things, like get a driver's license because confidential papers were stuck in my pod on the other side of the country. It was a 0/10 experience and I will not be using Uhaul in any future moves.

Signs said pull up an associate would be there to check you in. After 15 minutes, had to go inside the offices to get someone to help me return the trailer. Also, i pd $318 for this same trailer service last yr, this yr was $515.00, that is an incredible price increase in this economy. Will be looking for an alternative supplier going forward.

Some of the old units need to be upgraded. The one i had the plastic is hanging down and all you all do is keep putting tape on it. Some people have very nice things and the rent is not cheap.

Make sure equipment is ready to go. There was still trash from the trailers last use. There was only 1 employee and he was working very hard. I could see his frustration that the trailer wasnt cleaned and he had noone to help with the other customers that were there at the same time. He got the trailer cleaned for me. Having additional employees and verifying work is completed would help smooth the process and allow them a better working environment.

My pick up location moved without telling me. When I arrived to the Knox Abbott location that was my original pick up spot, I was told to go to the Orchard location without any explanation. They did not give me my prepaid mattress bag here either, which I couldn't get at the orchard location and had to go back for. When I arrived to the orchard road location, they said they did not have my reservation either. They said “if I don't have a reservation I can bump or a truck available, I can't give you a rental truck today”. I was only in town for that night to pick up a few belongings so it was very important I got the truck. Luckily they were able to but I was very upset with the lack of communication and that my reservation was not made a priority. Will be looking to rent with a different company moving forward.

The associates were incredibly rude and obviously felt their customers are not a priority. The two times I went in (to rent and drop off), there were a bunch of associates standing around and talking about nothing to one another, while one person had to take care of all the customers. When I dropped off the truck I'd rented, the female associate (who also did my initial rental) was dismissive and would not walk out to the truck with me to check the final mileage and fuel, which made me very uncomfortable. It also made me angry that no one walked out to take care of me when I pulled my rental truck up to the drop-off area where signage was posted to stay by your equipment until an associate comes out to help you. I would 100% never recommend this location to anyone I know. Very unprofessional group of people, very lazy and doing the bare minimum.

The place was closed even though the hours were open 7-7. Had to wait an hour for someone to give us keys to truck and cut into our time to move stuff. Would not ever use this location or service again

Customer service all together for UHaul sucks. When I picked the location in Cayce to pick up a COMMIN size 15' truck at 6 am and then the morning of I am told to go to West Columbia to pick it up there because the location I picked did not have it there! Really its not like I just walked in the door off the street I reserved it 2 weeks in advance! Plenty of time to get said 15' truck. Make it simple.

While I understand I dropped the trailer off on a Sunday, there was only one employee there at the time. Perhaps another was off to lunch as it was about that time but if not, would recommend ensuring you had two employees in the store at one time. This is a very large (and thus busy) location and one employee runs counter to a business model that has to check customers out as well as check them in.

I took pictures of everything! I only drove 8 miles and they charged me $43.12 for gas. I even put in 2 gallons of gas to be safe. The manager was mouthy and said “well you should have put 4 in!” She was refusing to give me a refund until I should her the photos. She first argued against the photos, they are time stamped!!!! NEVER AGAIN! I'm done with them trying to rip people off! It's not the first time, but it's the last for me! Oil light and another light was on. Lots & lots of damage to the sides of the truck. Thank goodness for photos!

My storage unit 2055 was broken into and the only way I found out about it was when I was called by the police a week later! I am appalled by the lack of customer service practices regarding contacting customers when they are broken into. I have had my 2 units for atleast 4 years and was so upset that I moved all my stuff to a different location. I will never use this company again!!!
