Customers need to be told to NOT use combination padlocks, as mine was damaged to the point I had to use bolt cutters to get it off of the box. If that was mentioned, I missed it. Otherwise, overall the u-box was a fantastic fit for what I needed. It worked out perfectly and would DEFINITELY use it again.Kathryn T.
When I reserved equipment online, there were far too many solicitations for extra items such as storage space boxes help moving and other items just to name a few. There should be one item to click just before confirmation of the registration that allows you to access a menu for these extra but usually unneeded items. The way registration is set up now is really clumsy. As far as the on-site operation at the location I visited, it was excellent. I would definitely rent there again.JEFF R.

We arrived to this location to return the vehicle on Saturday 1/1/22. A woman took the key from us in the parking lot and said we were good to go and she would check us out. We left assuming all was good. After a few hours and no closed receipt, I contacted the customer service to inquire and he stated it sometimes takes awhile. No receipt that day, or the next. Monday I got a text stating the vehicle had not been received and I needed to contact uhaul. I called the # on the text, and I was told that they had contacted the Waukee location and they have no record of the vehicle drop off and it's not in the lot. I explained our drop off experience and they said they would contact the location and the receipt should be closed by Tuesday at 2pm or call back, no receipt closed Monday or by Tuesday at 2pm. Called at 2pm Tuesday and they stated they thought the issue was related to the Sioux Falls location logging the wrong vehicle # which is why the Waukee location couldn't find the truck and they would resolve by end of day. No resolution Tuesday evening. Got a voicemail from the Waukee location today telling me video footage from the facility does not show us dropping off the vehicle on Monday so I need to to call and resolve so they don't have to file the vehicle as stolen. I called twice to the location, sat on hold each time for 30 minutes, no answer. Called the 800 # to discuss the voicemail, and explained the location manager was looking at the wrong day's footage since we returned on Saturday. The rep stated she would figure it out since the photo we submitted at check out from Sioux Falls of the odometer included the vehicle #. I finally got a confirmation of the ticket close out at 3pm today, four days after the vehicle was dropped off. This was my first time renting from Uhaul, and it may be my last. This experience was so stressful and scary. The whole reason I rented the truck was to move my fathers belongings from his apartment from SD to our family in IA because he died in a car accident on 12/27/21. Out of all the things I've had to deal with in the last week, I thought the uhaul rental would be the easiest, but instead it's been the worst experience I could ever imagine. I worked with a Gina at 1-888-793-5001 who was very friendly and tried to help over multiple days, but I will never go to the Waukee location again. I hope me taking the time to write out this feedback provide's a learning opportunity so that this never happens to another customer again.Kristen T.

We rented a Uhaul for 1 day. Before returning it back, we filled the gas tank up to less than a half tank which was how we got it but yet we were charged double the amount. Front desk did confirm that yes indeed we were charged double but told us she would have to call her manager (Cameron Herzst) to walk her through the refund process. When she called and explained that she needed help refunded us back our money, the manager told her no, we don't get a refund. The manager was very rude, she kept raising her voice which I found to be very unprofessional. After taking her name, she told me again in a very rude way that we could go ahead and call anyone, they will tell us the same thing. So disappointed in the way we were treated. Due to storms I showed up to return the rental right as they were closing. No one came to help with the return process. I was left to do it myself in the wind. I was charged $68 for gas despite having returned the truck with more gas than I left with. Best case scenario, the person who checked the vehicle in was lazy and assumed that I would not have refilled the truck; worst case, this location is running a scam. Thankfully I noticed before the vehicle was rented out again, so I was able to have someone check the truck and they confirmed that it was filled enough and said that the charge would be reversed, but if today had been any busier, I might not have gotten to it until too late. Return the equipment and stayed with it as the sign said too, no one showed up for 15 minutes. I then went inside and there was 1 person behind the desk. There was difficulty locating our needed size of trailer. It had just been returned snd was pretty clean. However we drove thru 2 days of heavy rain and the trailer leaked. It was not water proof. Water came in from the top and got some furniture wetness top and boxes on the floor were soaked, furniture on the floor had wet legs. The truck I rented had been recently checked and maintained, but there was no heat when I took it. It was 17 degrees outside and I about froze driving it to my destination. Too far to return it in the cold and none available to swap it nearby, so waited later that day for it to warm it before driving it again. I should receive some type of refund for this issue.DAVID H.

The four star vs five star would only be because U guys had some issues with the card reader. Also a better check on my 6X12 trailer as it had 1 tire that was nearly bald ( I traveled 1400 miles so a little on edge about that ) Part of that was my fault but we as movers are so scattered sometimes, so a better check on U would have been great!!!Brian S. | Expérience générale
Only concern was the always overflowing drop-off/leave behind (read garbage) bin inside the facility. Other customers obviously decided they needed to get rid of lots of stuff, but it was not properly removed from there. I have had difficulty with uhaul for the past week I reserved a ground level unit and the confirmation email said I was on the second floor. I called to upgrade to the available ground floor 10x15 to find out that was not set. I called in to make sure I was a ground floor 10x10x10 when I got there for my reservation it was assigned a 10x10x7 and only one working employee without access or knowledge of the storage units there was no compensation for all of the inconvenience I was put through especially since I was paying movers to help by the hour they were on the clock for half an hour before we even got to start unloading I was also given a unit that had a lockout tag saying the previous tenet no longer had access to due to failure of paymentDevin D. | Premières impressions

After dropping off trailer Saturday before my reservation was up at the waukee location where I was told to drop it off, personnel told me to not worry about going inside because he had it covered (which I mistakenly believed). Then today I get text about how I never returned trailer as well as my alternative contact getting a call stating the same about un-returned trailer. Called to talk to someone and customer service was rude. Got it all figured out just hope your personnel can pull it together before someone else gets accused of stolen trailer.Bryce O.

I worked with Austin at the local facility. He was fabulous with really great customer service skills. He helped me switch from a smaller unit to larger one. Found a perfect fit for what I needed. The day of the move, i also had help from the general manager (recognize from photo on website). He was also very friendly and helpful. Here is a copy of the email I sent while waiting to get my storage unit issue handled. The store in Waukee IA is 0 for 2. First I was charged an extra day on my truck rental. I requested a refund but have not received it yet. Then I rented a storage unit and when I went to use it, the unit had a customer lock and a delinquency lock on it. I waited for more than 30 minutes before I was able to get help. It was after hours but that is not my fault. The guy that was helping sighed the entire time. Again, not my fault. I have been to this uHaul location a couple of times to rent moving trucks. This is the first time I've gone there to rent a storage unit. The staff were really helpful. It took a while to get my unit, but the first person who helped me credited me with one month free for the inconvenience, which I really appreciated. My key card didn't work when I tried it, but someone else helped me change the key card to one that did, and he tested it out before he gave it to me, which was great. Then, when I returned to put things in my unit today, the same person who helped me with my card saw that I was having trouble getting into the loading garage, and he ran over immediately to open the garage door for me. I'm sure it was my own error and I'm grateful for his courtesy going above and beyond to assist me!
