My drop off location was changed to the same location as pick up the day before I planned to move, the truck was damaged in several places. The associate I spoke to in person at the location was very polite.

Uhaul needs to better at online reservations and actually reserve equipment if the customer reserved it online. ( just like you reserve a seat at a restaurant.. and when you get there they say it's first come first service ... ) I believe this is a policy issue with uhaul not a people issue .. make your online system smart enough to confirm inventory of a reservation.. I would not use uhaul again .. if fix these things you can be scale your business ..

The man that checked me in was too rushed. He just didnt want to explain anything. I bought 2 bags of sheets to cover my TV with, he never once explained they were rented. I bought 2 to keep and only used 3 sheets. So spent this money for nothing. Everything else worked fine, it was just the bad customer service experience for the kid that checked me in.

We usually rent at Uhaul closest to us in Gurnee on Waveland but couldn't find equipment we wanted so went to Lewis. I have to say from the moment we checked in until we checked out the staff here was amazing! So customer oriented and the manager doing just as much as his staff! Wonderful experience!

I reserved at 15' truck for a one way rental in Morton Grove. A few days before I was offered Waukegan. When I got there, I was told they only had a 10' truck. After calling someone (corporate?), they found the truck. The passenger door lock was broken and hanging out of the door. I noted that on the report. I was forced to return the truck toa different locatin, not the one I had picked during the online order.

I think more should be done in between rentals, in the service and maintenance department. The truck I was given had a cracked windshield a door that needed to be slammed in order to close properly. The transmission shifting was very troublesome. I had a fast local move, and reported the problems upon return.

Other than the trailer hadn't been swept and had a lot of sawdust, washers and some screws the experience was great. That is the difference between the “above average” I gave and the “excellent” I would have given. I am a repeat customer and will continue to rent from this location. PS we swept the trailer before using in and before we returned it.

The UHaul app is not helpful. While logged in, it did not show my rental. I wanted to rent for an additional day and the app was useless. All the people that helped me were helpful. I had to wait around 30 minutes before speaking to someone on the phone. Too long.

When I strapped the front wheel it was difficult to secure it in a way that would keep the strap from rubbing on the front wall. Ruined a strap and had to buy a much more expensive one last minute in store. A rubber cover on the front wall edge would make this safer.

You need to contact your customers before hand if a truck will not be available for their scheduled reservation. Their should be some kind of protocol/policy in place for notifying customers. This is unacceptable.

The storage units have rats and mice .. I do NOT recommend anyone to rent a storage there . This is the location in Waukegan IL on Lewis ...The storage unit was around $165 a mont with no AC and you are guaranteed to get rats and mice 🐀 in your furniture and stuff... super disgusting Please save your money and rent somewhere else

I normally would have chosen to do the in-person check-in and out, but because we are currently living in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted to do a contactless pick up and drop off. Unfortunately, despite choosing to check-in via phone, I still had to have contact with someone to get the keys. And, when I returned, someone came out to get the vehicle, so I had contact with another person! I am a little upset about this because I thought that I chose the option that would eliminate the contact with people that I don't normally come into contact with. I think it is important to have a contactless option for UHaul during the pandemic.

When I booked the truck, I was had the confirmation to get it from your Lincolnshire location. In the late afternoon I learned that I need to get it from Waukegan. This added about $40 of extra costs for me, since I could not find another truck within the short time before I needed it. At pick-up, I was told the truck was disinfected, but when I wiped the steering wheel, handles, etc., as an extra precaution, it was clear that it was dirty. The U-Haul employee at drop-off did not wear a mask and did not keep 6-feet away. I assume their training against COVID-19 was not successful.
