Everything was fine until the end. I dropped off the UHAUL truck and left the key in the truck as instructed. After I left, I was called saying that because the doors were locked they would be unable to open the truck and would need to call someone out with another key to do it. She said I would be charged for this. Why tell me to leave the key in the truck, then assume I'd leave it unlocked? Why would I leave it unlocked when someone could take it and then the blame is on me and I'm left to pay for a potentially stolen or damaged truck? How do they NOT have a MASTER KEY? I should NOT be charged for this error. Give your employees a master key or a copy of them. This is retarded and not my fault at all.ANTHONY S.

Staff at the 83 Water Street facility were very helpful and friendly. On my initial visit to the facility, the manager, Tyffany Cirillo, was quite informative, more so than personnel at another U-Haul in the Greater New Haven area to which I had previously gone in search of specific details about truck and storage space tentals. When I checked in to 83 Water Street to return my 1-way rental truck, I discovered it had a serious issue. Staff person Milagros "Max" Escobar, also very friendly and helpful, was quick to get the truck problem resolved to my total satisfaction. She also guided me through the storage space rental process taking extra time to be sure I was totally familiar with everything. So, many thanks to both Tyffany and Max for their outstanding customer service and support! Staff was incompetent, systems did not work. I reserved a van but switched to a truck. Attendant told me it would be same price. When I returned it, another attendant told me I couldn't get a receipt, it would come in email. When it came in email, it was a totally different rate than what I had agreed to. Also, I. tried to return some boxes but the attendant could not find the order, even though I showed him the email with the order number. He seemed dazed and confused and unable to perform the simplest task. I got so frustrated I ended up keeping the boxes. I will avoid using Uhaul at all costs in the future, this is not the first bad experience.Jeffrey Y.

Your team at this location is phenomenal. Professional articulate folks that made my experience truly one of the best U-Haul experiences I've ever had. I worked with 3 different individuals Tiffany when I rented the van. Her replacement that evening when I returned it. And the following evening when I realized I had forgotten my car charger in the van. The gentleman was kind enough to look for it and found it. The whole experience was awesome. Absolute worst customer service I've experienced in years. Too many issues to list (reservation not met, unable to find suitable replacement, took almost 2 hours, had to travel to different locations, dispatch not checked in after return, billed twice, etc.). I do not have an issue with the location. My issue is with the company overall. I do not have a smartphone, and I despise the invasiveness of text messages. I chose on-site checkin and opted out of texts. The system AUTOMATICALLY updated my reservation to one I can not complete without a smartphone and sent me texts.MEGAN W.

the online uhaul system was a bit annoying to navigate and tried to upsell us, BUT the customer service of the staff at the Wooster Square U-Haul Facility in New Haven, CT was excellent and all the workers deserve a raise and better benefits. Great work! Very chill, friendly, and helpful, even on a busy Saturday with a lot of folks renting vehicles and moving in and out of storage. Compliments to the team at the front desk, on the phone, and who helped with vehicle return. It was great. Quick pickup and really friendly staff. Drop off was even quicker which was great as I was late to catch a train! I did not have time to top off the gas unfortunately and my only negative feedback is that we got charged for 5 gallons of gas at the premium fillup price we expected after we dropped it off even though the receipt clearly shows we only drove 10 miles the entire time we had it rented. Again, for the second time, our u-haul attendant wasn't trained on how to disassemble the vehicle tow. WE had to do it, and we don't work here and we aren't trained to. UHaul needs to do a better job at training their employees. This entire experience was infuriating and we won't be using UHaul again.Kellin C.

Don't assert there is 1/8 of a tank of gas when the tank is nearly empty. We had driven six miles when the empty tank light came on. We bought six gallons of gas for 25 miles of rental and still had the privilege of paying you an extra $14,25 gas charge. Tiffany Cirillo is an epitome of compassion and professionalism. My order was inexplicably cancelled and I did not realize till the day of. I had arranged movers and made arrangements with my new landlords. Everything was about to fall apart when I just showed up at her U-Haul location at 7:00 AM. She immediately understood my situation and jumped right into action with counting return trucks, cleaning and maintaining them so she could get an exact count as quickly as possible. And just like the saying â€œwhere there is a will there is a wayâ€, there was one extra truck on her location. She called the online management and had it assigned to me. I must say that I am very impressed with this U-haul storage facility. The level of security and the cleanliness of this place is impeccable. When you first walk through the door you can smell the cleanliness in the air. Wish I had rented from U-haul before the storage place I moved from. The place was dark, dingy and had a musty odor . I moved because my unit was broken into and items were taken. I feel that my items are much more secure now and don't expect to have any security issues here. Great place.John C. | Online Move In
