the person in charge of delivering the truck assumed we knew how to use the ramp and back gate operation. gave us the keys and went awayEthos E.
For one make sure the trucks have gas in them, that you can see out the windshield. Also the rep never opened the truck to confirm the gas or milage is what was on the paper which it was not! The paper said one quarter of a tank was in the truck but when I started up the truck it said 5 miles to empty. The rep disappeared to help someone so I ended up calling to let them know the gas issue. They tell me I will get a credit if I bring the truck back with a quarter tank of gas!! Seriously Uhaul!! Just plain lazy on that store's part. Then I get a credit of 13 bucks for the gas and get taxed 13 bucks so I never truly received credit for gassing up their truck! I will never rent from that location ever again! I normally rent at the grissom location and they are extremely professional, give you a truck that is clean, gas in it and they walk you around the truck to check for any issues. So I question the charge, I am told I would be contacted before payment is taken. That never happened, they sent me a receipt showing 126 charge, didn't even reflect the hold of 79 dollars hold on my card! I called and instead of just pulling the difference between 79 and 126, they pull the full 126 and tell me it will take 3 to 5 business days to release the hold of 79.00. So basically they have 200 bucks from me!!! Yeah I'm passed and she rushed me off the phone!! That store location needs to closed down until they get better trained staff!! I hope you reach out to me and release my 79 now because I am not even remotely.Tonya V.
My specific complaint is that I reserved a furniture dolly. When I showed up, after the paperwork, I am told that this location does not have furniture dollies. At this point it is too late. We had to go through 2 service elevators and a long walk through a parking garage with heavy furniture. The location has no parking, and makes you park on the street. When you are a day rental, you have to leave a car. Staff seemed quite nonchalant about it. They didn't seem to appreciate the difficult situation it put me and my friend in. We just had two people in their mid 60's doing all this work. There is absolutely NO excuse. You have lost a customer.James B.
Your advertisement says $19.95. When all was said and done for the use of a van for about an hour and half, 17 miles it cost $59.00. I get it that the rental of vehicle is $19,95 but you need to add to your advertisement with additional costs.joe C.

Due to confusion when I first reserved the truck at a different location, I was left without a vehicle to use for my move. I called UHaul's 800 number and Corey politely directed me to the right department and that's where I found Vicki in Houston. She has exceptional customer service skills, most likely due to an innate kindness in her, and she found another location near me and transferred my reservation. I was scheduled to pick up the truck at 9 am, but was running late and the gentlemen from the Parkdale Drive location called to check on me. I cleaned out my unit less than 24 hours after my monthly auto pay was initiated. I asked if they could wave that fee for just the one month and they said there was nothing they could do. I called the manager and she never answered or responded to me. So I paid $85 dollars for an empty storage unit after doing business with this company for an entire year. A strip of rubber molding that was missing on the truck along the right side of the windshield (it had evidently recently received a windshield replacement) meant that once you got to 60 MPH and above, there was an unbearably loud and high pitched whistle from wind noise. Had to drive slower than desired as a result and was a bit of a traffic impedence.David P.
Make sure to process returns, so that refunds can be received accordingly. I was told about my refund at drop off just to find out it was never closed out. I had to call the call center to get in touch with the manager to get it finished and processed. I moved on last Thursday and I am just getting my receipt today and notification on today, Wednesday almost a week later. Online reservation included furniture dolly for that location. Called customer service to confirm reservation 3 days prior and inquire process for military discount. On pickup date location stated they did not have dollys and suggested driving to a separate location to see IF they had any. The manager also stated their particular location did not offer military discount. When presented invoice detail they were charging for dolly rental which they did not have. Truck was returned same day even though I reserved 24 hours. I filled it with gas slightly OVER amount on agreement and was 2 miles under estimated mileage. When reviewing my bank transactions I saw they processed additional charges onto my credit card. Advise...go IN PERSON to reserve truck and equipment even though it's extremely inconvenient. You're online $54,99 quote with $1,19 per mile (I drove 20), turns into $80 not including the gas you filled it up with (more than their contract required).Isabella R.

Truck was not clean no and smelled of body odor and smoke. Had to step back in the office before leaving and make sure I wouldn't be charged. Could not drive with windows down as it smelled way too bad. There was also no indication of where to put gas and if you're not familiar with these vans it's hard to find. Needs to be marked or pointed out. Charged for gas because I could not find where it goes at nearby gas station. Staff didn't seem to interested in my ordeal just said â€œgas goes right hereâ€. Uhaul agent at the store was incompetent and under the influence. He was slurring his words to the point I could not understand and he was smoking and had a cigarette in his hands as he was helping me. He kept giving me different rate quotes and mileage quotes. I did not drive out with my vehicle until 4:20pm and was still expected to bring it back by 9 pm when I reserved the truck for 5 hours.Amaan V.

My unit was broken into and all my valuables were stolen. It was not till after I had time to evaluate what had been taken did I realize what all was actually missing. I don't believe a sincere effort was made to contact me soon enough so that possibly would have helped recover my valuables. Been retired law enforcement, I know time is of the essence in recovering stolen items. Staff said they tried contacting me but neither I nor my brother had missed calls from the staff. I removed my remaining items to another location, hopefully I'll have better luck there. I believe staff should have contacted police about the break-in, so law enforcement could have started this investigation as soon as the facility became aware of the break-in, and wait for the client to take it upon themselves to initiate an investigation. No I would not recommend your facility to anyone. The break-in took some time in completing, so your staff should have noticed what was happening in their surveillance cameras in the office at the time it was happening. The whole incident seems fishy to me and brings about suspicion of the actual surveillance done by your staff at the time of this incident. Poor job!!!!Roberto M. | Expérience générale

The 15x30' storage unit reserved did NOT exist at the facility. The 26' truck was NOT accepted for drop off as scheduled. 2 10x15' units were substituted for the reserved space. The truck has to go elsewhere for drop off. I have had to rent a third unit (FROM A COMPETITOR) to complete storing my household goods. The storage experience was no different than any other the customer service was good after only one month though the price increased but it was already a little high in my opinion. Followed the instructions online for check out and was still charged for the unit had to go back to the store which they already re-rented the unit so they know I moved out said it was a mistake but still inconvenient. As a whole I will not use U-Haul again the last three out of five experiences that I've had with U-Haul in the past six months four of them have been horrible and only one of them has been OK which is the storage unit!!Michael F. | Expérience générale

Enhance the electronic system so that when I reserve a furniture Dolly it is actually set aside for me. Currently not benefit to planning ahead under this system because I still get screwed out of what I asked for. I even had the guy call several locations and still did not get one. This is an almost excellent facility. The issues are only three. First, German cockroaches I saw them in the facility multiple times. Two, security was adequate but multiple units had been broken into including a unit next to my own that I reported to management. The only problem I had was being connected with the storage unit that I had the reservation at. Of course I was on my was and it was difficult to understand each other clearly. But once I called directly, the young lady was very helpful and she addressed my questions perfectly. There was supposed to be a key left for me inside the unit according to the online instructions. No key was there. There aren't enough moving carts. I walked around not able to find one. The one I saw was being used by another customer. According to the office there are no remote control keys for access even though it's advertised. Disappointed that after 3-26' trucks one-way from NJ, one one-way (local) for two weeks, one local truck, and a 15x30 storage unit for 4 months that you do not reimburse for unused days of last month. $1000's of dollars and you can't part with $100 for unused space at a time when that unit will be rented very quickly. That said, the manager of the Wurzbach location is exemplary, knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating and downright nice. Needed a storage unit for a couple of months at the most but everywhere I checked out was only offering 6-12 month leases for storage units. Ended up checking out uhaul's storage rates and settled on the perfect sized unit. Not only did they offer a monthly rental basis, but they had a lot of different sized units to choose from, unlike other places where you get 2 or 3 sizes maximum. Was also able to get the option for climate control, which was great. The entire process was online, from reserving the unit, to checking in and bypassing the line at the desk with a lock waiting for me inside the unit when I arrived. 10/10-would highly recommendWilliam N. | Online Move In

I dropped a box in 10 minutes later when I noticed I asked if they can get it for me because everything requires a card swipe and they claimed there was no box but they were look at the cameras to see if it was an employee who picked it up or another customer. I never got my $3 000 engagement ring bag or heard about it again. At one point when I couldn't find my storage key I attempted to open it with bolt cutters and no one stopped me or asked me for verification that it was my unit. All the card swipes and cameras are nothing more but an illusion of security because they don't even review the cameras to see if someone's breaking in or to locate and drop the package breaking it in or to locate a dropped package. I never thought so much to go wrong on a simple storage unit but everything that could have went wrong went wrong with this U-Haul storage and I will not be returning.ALEXANDER E. | Expérience générale

This facility was far from a good experience. I sadly was pulled from dorms and accepted the assistance U-Haul offered until I got back on my feet. I trust was unimpressed. I had no access to my stuff after 9am and considering everything I own was in there and I realized I could itemize certain things when I was off of work well past 9pm. Then as the experience came to an end I was moving and noticed there were ants all over my belongings. Being I am deathly allergic I had to call my sister and sister in law to move all my stuff for me. When I told the ladies at the desk they cane down to observe it was true. The first offered us to leave all objects we already had in the truck and have them bombed and pick them up the next morning but then the other woman immediately claimed "they're just sugar ants they'll be fine" as if she was bothered by us bringing to their attention something that could kill me. I ended up paying 115 a month for an experience that was by far the worst as well as to be disrespected by the staff for my concern with the items in my unit being infested with ants.
