My reservation (placed in July) for a climate controlled 10x15 unit for September 1st was given to someone else the day prior. I am moving personal items from my aunts house as she passed away and I’m from out of state. Not having the unit available was super frustrating. A 10x10 unit would not be big enough, so I asked for two at the price of the one 10x15. They rented me two units and the first month is free but I haven’t seen anything proving they are going to offer me the two for the price of the larger unavailable unit I was promised.

And now I am told that I can not get a refund of my payment which was on automatic payment. It not fair that I should be paying for an empty unit for the month.

The price for the facility is insanely high for what you get, about $100 a month overpriced compared to the competition. ($180 a month for a 10x10 locker.) It feels like you’re just paying for the Uhaul name. In addition, the complementary carts are frequently missing from the building. The “climate control” thermostat is set to 80 degrees, so it’s hot in there. The place I have my stuff at now is $100 a month less for a climate-controlled locker and the temperature is set to 67.

LAURAISELA M | Overall ExperienceOn the phone, the staff was not very knowledgable or helpful. In person, the staff was super helpful and kind. The office being across the highway from where my storage unit was was confusing, and it was in a dingy little portable building. It would be nicer to set them up in an actual building so customers feel safer entering. Also, I wanted to buy a mattress bag with handles and the guy sold me one without handles. It would have been nice to have a little bit more attention from the sales guy on that purchase. But he was nice and said he’d refund the auto payment that went through the morning I moved out of the storage unit. It hasn’t processed yet, but that would be really helpful financially if it did!
