The bed bag I paid for was not provided and the truck was a little dinged up- they make you take pictures of it to prove it wasn't you, but this extra stop can be solved by not having beat up trucks in the first place. Otherwise, easy and simple to grab the truck and helpful staff.

Chakiya, at the Chelsea NYC location was awesome. I've had to use this Chelsea location twice in the past 2.5 months and after working with Chakiya the first time, she's the very reason why I returned. My second visit was no exception. Please, make sure she's made aware of my appreciation for her awesome service. The other staff members were also very customer service friendly.

The rental service was good. The return service was awful. I spoke with the check-in agent. He ignored me. Then, I got an aggressive call 2 days later asking me to return the van. I explained that I had 2 hours after I rented it. They found the van. Clearly, there is an opportunity to improve the check-in process.

I checked in online the day before, yet was asked all the same questions again but your check out person (who wasn't very nice). after waiting another 5 minutes for my truck, only then was I told that I had to get my covers and dolly myself. and the driver side door was creating the loudest wind noises i've ever heard while trying to drive.

I've used U-Haul in Illinois multiple times and never had to pay all the extra costs as in NYC (probably was double the amount). Customers expect uniform pricing from the same company. Would've been much better if I was better informed of all the extra costs beforehand.

The pick-up process was easy and fast. The vehicle was brand new and super clean. Return process was also simple. The rental fee was also fair for the vehicle I rented and the work I was able to get done. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely rent from there again.

Unlike the numerous other occasions i have rented here this particular van was poorly maintained namely the rear view mirror was broken, the windshield wipers old, and the rear bumpers damaged. The van was however clean and its motor functioning properly.

Checking in was seamless. The truck smelled brand new. Returning the materials was just as easy as the check-in. The entire process was super easy and simple, and the staff was so kind and pleasant, interacting with them put me in a good mood during an otherwise stressful time (moving is the WORST)!

I arrived at the facility at 6:40 am (20 minutes before the store officially opened). It was a particularly cold day and the employees watched me freeze outside while they enjoyed their breakfast and coffee. It was disappointing to see that no one would let me in - even just so I could warm up even if my transaction could not be consummated until the official opening hour. This was a poor showing for u-haul, evidence of poor customer service at best and a lack of humanity at worst.

This location has a bunch of nice cargo vans and maybe one old clunky one and I got the old clunker both times I needed a cargo van. Stop giving me the old one. Reminds me of when I was an EMT-B and I’d get stuck with the trashy diesel vanbulance from 1962 instead of the nice shiny new ones. Also, start accepting overnight drop-offs since your texts suggest it’s possible but your facility does not allow it.

I rented 2 u-haul vans with U-haul’s full cover insurance (which doesn’t cover the top/roof of the vans) for both the vehicles. Myself and their employees checked both the vans as I returned. After more than a month I received a call from U-haul’s insurance company claiming that there was a damage on the top side/ roof of one of the vehicles I rented and they fixed the damage and need me to pay for the repairs $630.

Charge a flat daily fee up to 150 miles a day and include EZ Pass with Gas Card. ZIPCAR does it with their vans.

When we arrived there was no one there to take customers. We had to knock on the employee door. The man told us that the girl was there she was just outside and coming back. She came in and was talking to herself and we realized she was on her ear pods on the phone with a personal friend. She continued her personal conversation throughout our entire transaction, even taking other calls. We were really shocked. Then she told us we had to bring our Uhaul back only an hour and 45 minutes later when we had requested a 4 hour window. Because we were not able to ask her for help since she was on personal calls, we called Uhaul to ask why we were even allowed this rental as we needed to go to Brooklyn and back and could not do that in a 1:45 window. No one could give us answers and no one could move our rental to another location in Brooklyn. We then had to pay extra gas and mileage fees and got a parking tickets as we had to keep the uhaul over night. This is the worst experience I have ever had with the company. I put in a complaint and was told I should receive a call in three days and have received nothing.

On my rental on 12/10, the team at Uhaul gave me the wrong paperwork for the vehicle and had to resubmit the paperwork before I could start my rental. Then upon return they still had the wrong information and required an additional resubmission of paperwork. Between both issues, I spent almost an hour time waiting for the the Uhaul team to sort out the issue. They had zero sence of urgency or care that they were wasting my time(and the other customers in line).

Perfect score with me. Chakira was amazing in processing my reservation; fast, professional, knowledgeable, she made the process a breeze. The truck was very clean and drove well. Service was absolutely abysmal. I will never use this service again. My Ubox did not only get delayed by 5 days, my items in the Ubox arrived in a manner that suggested my lock was tampered with. I had a pad lock that was missing the face when it arrived rendering it almost impossible to open. I will never use this service and I will make it my life mission to destroy any semblance of a business they have. If I could rate 0 stars I would.

Poor communication on delivery of U-Box from staff; four hours delayed. Customer Services representative not helpful or able to connect with the movers in an efficient manner. We were using this service as a test for future corporate moves. The experience has pushed us to think of different services for these moves. We will not be moving forward with the U-Haul Box option.

I called 1-800-uhaul to secure a vehicle at this location. I was quoted 1.59$ a mile for mileage and the Chelsea location charges 1.99$ not the quoted amount. Then there was a $15.95 location fee that was also not part of the quote, which is almost as much as the rental fee of 19.95$. So I was basically lied to by the supposedly competent person at 1-800-uhaul to use your services. Total bait and switch. But I was stuck as I was already there. I won’t bad mouth the Chelsea location, but I would use Penske in the future. No one likes being lied to and that’s not a good business model. 1-800-uhaul should have been able to give an accurate quote for the Chelsea location. Not even close. You asked.

I am angered because I asked for a specific thing to be done comment was made and I asked a second time when I return just to make sure that my specific thing be done comment was again made saying of course it would be done. Well, it was not done. And as a result, I did not have the money that I needed in the specific account I Needed it in. Essentially, to rent from you I need to put a credit card down which I did but I wanted the actual charge to go to my debit card so when I returned the van and I did the Return through the app, But i asked the gentleman there if inputting my debit card would override the credit card information. In total they told me three times that it would and in fact it didn’t. What I need is not to make this transaction myself. I need you to refund my credit card and charge my debit card you have them both in the system you should be able to do it. This is the only way I would likely go back to you. Likely

A lot of people DID Not care about your "equipment" they made it hard to even return the vehicle after they made it even gard to reach them by phone but then we got a hold of a "voice" over the phone after the City Linksys free phone system messed up on us like FIVE times and then we used our phone on WiFi and even though it never works for mE, lol it said to just return the phone loll'y using the app which was great now all I needed was for the phone to charge as I had TWO which wifi call number one was used which was my black Alcatel cellphone then my ASSURANCE wireless phone is the one that I needed because as I had DILIGENTLY checked for a signal next to the W23rd st Uhaul company but no that wasn't where they wanted you guys the SILVER cellphone from assurance wireless was reversed as NEVER GOING TO CHARGE and THEN like, they said I needed to miss my bus!!! Back home to Missouri, I swear the only reason I had decided to rent the u haul truck was to hide the Amaryllis bulbs I was transporting to Missouri which has the space for them to grow CONTINUOUSLY after some Hundruds of stalkers kept like trying to effect them EVERY second, I got scared for them as I also had an ivy plant but the Amaryllis bulb that had bloomed A BEAUTIFUL Pure White was ATTACKED the night before and when I had found out I had PAYED LIKE TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS TO STORE THEM INSIDE YOUR UHAUL TRUCK WHICH HAS US BEAT, I'm sorry but she will Bloom again so I'm ecstatic the " Red-dy color Amaryllis bulb was about to flower after but I as I had brought temporary shame on the cluster I have not even allowed myself to partake in this blooming season as I now have them at home in Missouri awaiting my return wrapped in mur lol no I'm NOW just playing I have them wrapped up in my Uber-black-blankey and NYC Towel Set because of near and dear PERSONAL reasons so I was only less than 11 miles in on your gas trained staff lol because my Amaryllis was I. No JOY-RIDING mood crying; I said dealing with three seconds before my rescheduled bus left I drove the gas down to near empty so nobody could steal the uhaul van and since I couldn't my OTHER can attempt out of the parking lot after four hours without giving up ANOTHER 53 dollars I said I'm going to take the van there where atleast I know the stalkers for safety precautions WOULD never be able to steal and use the "equipment" due to the HEFTY PRICE TAG I made inorder to once again sleep at night because I know this is much but on your end the Uhaul Team I swear I said after this VACATION in a vehicle which WAS THE ENVY of ALL THOSE STALKERS A D YES EVEN MORE STALKERS The outcome now boiled down to Uhaul finding the truck due to my cellphone FIASCO and I said before that the parking lot should have but it's okay all's well if it ends well so my credit turned out ECEN more messed up but atleast nobody could mess up the van this lucky it costs to operate the parking lot and I thank God that those stalkers NEVER had any money

Even having a corporate account and "pre check-in", didn't help me here - and the staff attitudes combined with computer glitches made it so I didn't get what I needed in a reasonable amount of time (the guy who came in after me was done and out before me). This place charges a 90% surcharge on the rental rate because it's Manhattan and they claim they'll provide extra service. The gas level was incorrect on the forms, so I took pics when I started and pics when I returned (only 4.5 miles later). Upon drop off, I was first charged $30 for returning the truck with less than 1/4 tank -But I RECEIVED THE TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 1/4 tank! After I raised the issue and my pics showed the original fuel level, it couldn't be debated and the charge was removed).THEN, I WAS CHARGED FOR 2 GALLONS OF GAS when it was impossible to have consumed 2 gallons of gas going 4.5 miles in the neighborhood. There was nobody willing or able to help resolve the issue (only one frustrated and overwhelmed guy working in the store with 2 people in line). Overall, this place needs to step it up with customer service. Now I remember why I stopped going there and have been using the other local truck rental around the corner for my last dozen rentals.

But the staffs in this location in particularly, somehow looks like “I don’t give a f*** to you at all” From their attitudes and the way the talk Even though nothing wrong but it is unfriendly experience there. I called this location many times in office hours, but no one answers. I couldn’t reach staff in here when I need. What’s wrong with U-Haul nowadays? I have used Uhaul many years.

The location is convenient, but the truck was a little beaten up. Worse yet, the last person who rented our truck did not put the gas, so that when we got in the truck, the ruck has only 1/8 of gas and we needed to go to a gas station first in Manhattan that delayed our move quite a lot. You should maintain/keep an eye on the gas level more carefully or give a proper warning to a next customer.

The location is convenient, the check in process and pick up of the vehicle were a good experience. The vehicle was great too. The checkout process wasn’t great. No one seemed to be in charge, busy people running around not talking to customers wondering what to do and where to go. I was eventually checked out by an employee and was told everything was fine, no extra charge needed and that I would receive a receipt by email shortly. I received a call on Sunday from a U-Haul staff member saying that I hadn’t returned the vehicle. I called back to say that I did return the vehicle the day before. The person said it would be taken care of. The following day I received an email receipt with an extra day added to my rental with a charge on my credit card. I called back this morning to rectify this error but the operator couldn’t help me and I’m waiting for a call from their manager. This isn’t the type of experience I expected from u-haul.
