Too expensive. You advertise $19.95, but I was charged over $120 for 8 hours rental. I will never, ever rent a U-haul vehicle ever again. Never. Honesty in advertising is actually a promise you should aspire to achieve. Horrible experience. Terrible. If you work for U-haul, you are a failure. If you are a contractor working for U-haul, you are a failure. You are not honest.

The check-in process was fast and easy, and the pick up process was speedy. The office was clean and organized where it was easy for customers to pick up last minute packing supplies. No additional feedback that I can think of at this time.
The uhaul van I had rented looked like it hadnâ€™t been cleaned in a while. Considering whatâ€™s going on currently, I would have thought they would have taken the extra precautions to make it safe for their customers.
The woman at check in was the least professional person I have ever encountered. She was rude and lacks customer service training severely. I also booked this uhaul weeks ago only to receive a call letting me know that I would have to keep it over night due to changing hours at this location. While I understand that COVID is changing our lives(I work in healthcare) I should not have been responsible for 40 dollars to park the vehicle over night. You all should have given me a discount if you knew you were putting me in that situation 4 hours before my move. A heads up would have been nice. Your employees should be thankful to have a job during this tremendously doubtful time. Shame on you all for bad customer service all around.

Even in this time of corona virus, everything went well. Preregistering in advance with the online check in provided a safe way to pick up my van.
Yesterday, Sunday morning, while sanitizing touchpoints before departing, I accidentally hit the power lock and locked the keys in the van. Fortunately I was at the U-Haul location and another van was provided quickly with no hassle. I really appreciated that. A courtesy call from Keith later that afternoon to remind me of early closing was also appreciated.

People working there are very efficient! The only thing we hoped to get a clean van during this time of vivid-19 which was not the case. We brought with us some Clorox wipes and gloves and clean up the van as much as possible. Other than that pick up and drop off is very easy at this location.
Pay your workers more! They deserve it!
New York City has a lot of special rules for where commercial vehicles can and cannot drive, park, etc. The employees should have been more forthcoming with guidance on this so that customers can plan accordingly. I had to proactively ask a lot of questions, many of which the location seemed unable or unwilling to answer.
My overall experience was a disaster. I had rented a 15' truck. I was refused the renting and the Uhaul employee only gave me a pickup. I have a french driver license, my girlfriend have a US driver license. Because of this we had to do three round-trips between our previous flat and our new flat - instead of just one way. This costed us an additional $200 to pay the movers + around $40 in tolls. I complained when returning the pickup but was told that this was my fault to have accepted the pickup. As you can imagine I am very mad at Uhaul right now. Their job is to rent trucks; who would deny a truck to someone on the day of their moving ?!

The check in person at the counter was very helpful . The truck staff outside were basically mean. They were non verbal and just point at you . When I said I donâ€™t understand he started to yell at me . The woman in the office upon my return pointed me to the garage the garage pointed me to the office â€œnon verbal â€œ. Then when I went back to the office I think her words were â€œwell I canâ€™t help you â€œ
I was very disappointed with being hit with a $16 facility fee!! That was not appropriately made aware to me when I made the reservation which it should have been. Feels like very shady business practices. Your employee explained that this is the only location in Manhattan that adds that fee. I would have made a reservation at another location had I known this. Ahead of time. Again this is very poor business practices by not acknowledging the fee to your customers ahead of time. I would like a refund for that fee
Our only REAL complaint was the interior of the truck was very dirty. Someone had spilled a sticky substance all over the floor and seats which made for a very uncomfortable 270 mile trip. Someone should have checked and cleaned the cab before we picked it up.
Tank was filled up to about a quarter of a tank. Drove 12 miles and was charged the $30 fill up fee. Asked to speak to a manager and they said nobody was available, that if I wanted to I could dispute but nothing they could do. Terrible customer service

The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The guy who checked me out upon return was very friendly but he had a cigarette in his hand and was unpleasant to be around cigarette smoke as I was returning the van. Plus wouldn't that smell up the van? Most people do not like cigarette smoke.
