I made the reservation to pick up at another location close to my home and to where I was moving. The pick up location was changed by U-haul at the last minute. I had to drive almost an hour out of my way to pick up and return the truck which added mileage to my move. Plus the employee that helped us when we picked up the truck was not very friendly and made the experience even worse.Dennis H.

The representatives were very helpful but UHAUL itself needs to get it together. Some of my stuff, although wrapped well in furniture pads came SCRATCHED and scuffed. One of our stainless steel trash cans was ruined. One of our tables was incredibly scratched, so much that we had to throw it out. It cost 200 $!!! Secondly, your interface is a joke. I had to pay my shipping balance of 2 778 $but you have no page online to pay it. I call the Atlantic location, and the guy tells me someone will call me to pay online. No one calls, so I call multiple UHAUL numbers to try and pay over the phone. Then, a representative tells me that they can't find how much I owe. I see three different numbers online and even the rep doesn't know how much I owe. So then she transfers me to the general UHAUL customer service, they can't help me, so then they transfer me to the billing department, where she finally tells me she sees the correct amount and I pay over the phone. She then tells me that everything is taken care of and they will deliver my UBOX on Tuesday. Then I call back to schedule the delivery, and the guy I spoke to earlier (who told me someone would call me to make the payment) DOESNT tell me that the delivery costs 115 $! I was so astounded. The lady confirmed on the phone that the payment would be charged on the day of delivery and that she was very sorry no one told me. The guy on the phone said that the shipping cost included delivery and pickup of the UBOX which is misleading and completely untrue. Don't even get me started on the payment for the delivery of the UBOX. They told me they would charge me day of when they drop off the box. Instead, they charged me the night before on Monday and instead of charging me 115 $for the delivery and pick up, they tried charging me 260 $!!! I was so annoyed at this point. I call, and the very nice lady on the phone informed me that when I called prior to schedule the delivery, the other woman created an entirely new invoice for the delivery, so UHAUL was trying to charge me a months rent for the UBOX and insurance for the box. She helped me make a payment for just the delivery cost, around 120 $with tax, and she informed her team that I didn't need to pay the UBOX rent or insurance fee because I already paid that when I first ordered and loaded the UBOX. Finally, she helped me resolve everything, and they came and delivered the box. The communication here is really terrible on UHAULs part. The staff was all great excited the guy who didn't tell me you all charged for delivery, but really UHAUL seems like a dishonest company where they will try to charge you for things you don't need. I definitely believe they overcharged us. Please check your RECEIPTS and invoices if you ever do business with UHAUL.Vanessa D.

Do not go to UHaul in East Los Angeles, Employees are not well trained. The manager Justin is not helpful at all , no costumer service skills , no type of help, does not take responsibility for his employees errors, not great at all. The managers attitude isn't great. Seems like all they care about is just getting paid and going home. My recent experience was not great, highly unsatisfied. Seems like they are running a scam here. They do not input the correct information when you rent any vehicle , then they make it seem like it's your fault for all the extra fees. We were really misinformed by the employees. Do not take anything they say from their word because they do not help fix any errors they generated. Just my recent experience, I rented a uhaul and I specifically told the employee and the manager that i was going to return the vehicle the next day. Turns out I get a phone call stating that I was supposed to return the vehicle 4 hours after I rented the vehicle, which was totally wrong and then I get an overcharge for an extra day , which we even called costumer service about and they said everything would be fine and I wouldn't get charged for the extra day. Even their employee was apologizing since he was new to the company he was trying to get everything done correctly but he did not. Then the manager didn't take responsibility for his employee at all and well I did not get any sort of help for their errors. Do not go to this location. Do not rent with uhaul. It would be helpful to clarify the process related to returning furniture pads, especially when you have extra and do not have room in the ubox. We were told to return to any Uhaul location but then was told it was supposed to go back to the location that brought the ubox. We ended up returning to the closest one and everything was fine. Asked for reimbursement to district traffic department for my movers' cancelation fee, but it has been IGNORED. You do not even deserve a star. You really do need BIG HELP to improve. I got the truck saying it had gas and but in reality it didn't!!! The truck left me in the street because of the gas I didn't even drive more than 5 miles!! I called and reported it and found out the gas meter was not working. So when I returned the truck back I told the guy but he said that's not true so and they charged me double the price!!! So I told him let's put ga son it and if the meter goes up I will pay the money but he was just been rude and unprofessional at his job!!! So really bad experienceNEIL P.

Worst car rental experience in my life. I'm not even mad at the location. I'm upset at Uhaul. I made a reservation a week before my rental day and they call me 3 days before I needed it to tell me it's not available. I even got movers through Uhaul. Then they tell me the only available 26 foot truck is over 45 to an hr away. So Â uhaul wants to charge me an hour of my time to pick up a 26 ft truck for your own mistake. I told them I'm not paying for an hour and I'm not driving for an hour for a reservation that I reserved a week ago. So the customer service person then tells me there's a 20ft truck available closer to my area but still not in my city. I finally agreed because I need it. On the day of pickup, I get there at 700, my newly rescheduled reservation time, only to find out that I can't pick up the truck through the Uhaul/share website. I called Uhaul to ask what the problem is. The operator tells me this rental is only by person and doesn't understand why I was given a reservation time off hours for a truck I can't rent. It is now almost 830 and my scheduled movers that I hired through Uhaul, at the same time I ordered the truck online, has arrived and was wondering what the hold up is and why there's no truck. I ended up waiting for 2 hours for the Uhaul to open. I thought my troubles would be over when they opened but it wasn't. The attendant tells me that there's no 20ft trucks available now and only 17ft trucks. So I went from scheduling and reserving a 26ft truck to almost half the size of what I ordered. Of course I'm strapped for time since I'm paying movers to do nothing but just sit around and wait for me. I took what was available and left. Worst rental experience of my life and to have it happen on one of the most exhausting and stressful days I ever had.WAYNE C.

The overall idea of the shipping containers is great. However the size of these containers are small. They told me that 1 container could fit up to a 2 bdrm, that was INACCURATE. I had to leave things behind bcz my order was for 2 containers which you definitely could NOT fit everything. I called inquiring about a 3rd container and they told It will be an additional 2 000 $+ dollars. Then upon arrival to my new relocation out of state, I contacted the retrieving U-Haul company and they said my items hadn't been picked up. Mind you they were due for pick up at 11am it's well past that time. My request to the U-Haul co. a courtesy call would hv been polite indicating my things were not picked up. Then I immediately tryied to contact the mindful movers ( a contracted company) and thankfully I was able to catch them b4 closing. I spoke directly to the gentleman (Steve) who by the way calmed my nerves & and he indicated that he wasn't notified abt my pick up, but he would absolutely go and deliver my things. That's the only thing that made things better.(THANK U MINDFUL MOVERS!) I would Not recommend these UBOXES unless u moving your child things to or from a college. A home is not it. The 2 UBOXES I had should hv equaled 1. This 3 $k I spent was NOT worth it.Shykish C.

This was a very frustrating experience for me due to poor follow through. I called two days prior to my hitch installation to confirm they had all of the necessary parts providing my vehicle year make model and VIN. I was assured that all parts were ready and at location for the installation. The day of I dropped off my vehicle and went on with my business only to get a call an hour and a half later that they didn't have the correct hitch for my vehicle and that it would take two weeks before they could have the correct part. Whoever I spoke with did not check the parts they had or didn't do a good job looking. Furthermore the appointment should have been canceled and rescheduled before I even showed up day of. Because of the dire urgency of the hitch installation, I sourced my own hitch, with the help of the O'rielys management, at a Toyota dealership. The only reason I let Uhaul install is because I knew they had the wiring where the Toyota did not. The management from this location might learn a thing from the practices of the team at O'rielys across the way in customer service. Or at the very least get their facts straight with their customers so we have the autonomy to make our own choices based on what uhaul can actually do. This experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I sincerely hope the management of the 657 s Atlantic Los Angeles location sees this.Sabra W.
