The Gettysburg location was very helpful in my one way move. They called the day before to confirm my 15' truck was ready. I used the app to load my drivers license and prepaid to make checkin easier. The truck was ready to go when I arrived. The staff answered all my questions, helped me find the closest location for my drop off, helped me load the dolly and blankets to the truck, and I was on my way. Thanks!!Michael C.

I would recommend this location for convenience, but an apparent misreading of the fuel gauge either before or after my rental resulted in a $30 charge that should not have been applied. I drove the truck for 9 miles and put just over a gallon of gas in the tank before returning, which should have roughly covered the fuel that I used, yet the fuel gauge upon return was said to be significantly lower than it was upon check out and I was charged for 5 gallons of gas at $6 per gallon (given that I had already put in a gallon, this would equal 1,5 miles per gallon for the nine miles I drove). I have never previously had an issue with refueling charges, though this sort of problem would be easily prevented by filling all trucks before rental so that each customer could simply fill the tank without having to estimate how much fuel they used.Brent H.

This was a nice clean dedicated uhaul site. The sign said to pull into a spot and wait in the equipment. Nobody ever came.out. i went in. The youngman inside was helpfull and curtious. I also bought a lock at the same time. The youngman was helpful.lucas B.

I was very unsatisfied with the scheduling for pickup and returning the vehicle. I scheduled pickup from a place 1,2 miles from my house .I was called later on an confirmation dept said I had to pick up in Westminster which was 12 miles away still not horrible because it was in the direction I was to travel. However the night before I was to pickup I got an email confirmation to pickup the unit in Gettysburg PA which was 30 miles away. And I had to return it back there late Sunday night which was another 30 plus miles out of the way not to mention I couldn't pick up at the scheduled time which put me at least 2 hours behind schedule..I would like to hear back from someone concerning this mattertyrone C.

This review is for the Gettysburg location which was very helpful, however I had numerous other issues is setting up this reservation. I first went tot he York location where I was treated very rudely. Representative was did not put forth any effort to try to help me. I was told he could not find or get a trailer delivered to this location and was dismissed. I spent over 2 hours trying to find a trailer and finally did in Hanover. I reserved the trailer. I received a phone call the next day from the Hanover office that the trailer I was to get was inadvertently dropped off in Gettysburg. I appreciate that he reached out before I was to pick up the trailer and we adjusted the reservation to Gettysburg. I now have to make an even further trip to get and drop off a trailer that I should have been able to get in York where I live. I have used U-haul numerous times before, but I will most likely avoid the York office if not U-haul all together in the future.Matthew C.

Rented a 12x6 trailer. Lights were not working properly, but I figured out the issue was in the 4-pin extension harness was bad. Also the customer rep who was helping me, had to manually pick up the trailer tongue to latch onto hitch. Tongue was not elevated, picked off of the ground. So in returning the trailer that night, I had to do the same thing by myself with unhooking. potential back injuries for staff and customer. May want to evaluate the trailer situation, maybe a trailer jack?Joseph W.

The truck I reserved had a broken door. I was given a smaller truck truck in exchange which required two trips instead of one. I ended paying for double the the miles and double the fuel for a move that took twice as long.David A.

When I set up my rental I requested the date of June 30th and the customer service reps set it for July 30th. When I called to confirm on June 29th I was told that there was nothing in my area and that I would have to travel to Franklin, WV (1 hour and 15 minutes away) to pick up a rental. I was not given any apologies or other options from the rep.ashlyn H.
The gm at the location did a double transaction charge and we have still not received the $310,62 credit back. The trailer roof leaked and got our new furniture wet. I called back two times to inquire about the credit due back to us, and still have not received this. Very poor customer service. For me to return to this location or refer them, i would need a full credit for this ordeal.Gary M.

There was a small hiccup on the total cost calculation when using the online after hours check-out process (incorrectly got charged an extra day)â€¦however the local team easily resolved it the next day prior to my credit card being charged. The representative when I picked the trailer up was rude and couldn't care less about his job. Complained the whole time hooking up the trailer and was going to cancel my trailer because he claimed the lights were not working in my vehicle. I pushed the connector in they worked fine. Also, Complained the factory hitch needed adjustment but I disconnected and reconnected the trailer myself with no problem. At least the representative when I dropped it off was great.Darrin F.

Get off online. When you could go to store and get a truck the same day.... I don't see why abusiness such as this would decrease the available to its customers. I personally had to schedule online a week and a half out. To then pick up my uhual an hour away in PA.Michael D.
I reserved a 10 ft truck the morning of the app said my truck was ready. But then someone called to say they would not have a 10ft. They had a 15ft available. I questioned the fact that I had a reservation and they should give me the 15 at ghe 10 price. The guy basically said tough crap. So I said whatever. But now today another charge came thru on my card for $35. I called the store and the guy said it was the hold. Well the hold shouldn't come through 3 days later!! I also asked the guy about the whole reservation mess, he said I should've been given the 15ft at the 10ft price!!! So he told me to call the manager tomorrow morning. Which I will do. But this is a horrible way to do business!!Catherine W.

Bad uneven seal on shed door at bottom. Rat poison dispensers and mouse glue traps on floor inside my assigned shed. Employee told me unit is not as temperature regulated as website claims. Also told me there was a flood at these units the week before & renters had to be called about it. Manager of facility absolutely refused to give me even a partial refund, even though I returned less than 24 hrs later to retrieve my stored items the very next day after renting the unit! I stood in front of employee who called their manager, and she did not even hesitate to say no to my refund request. The employee was aware that I was retrieving my stuff, but they marked my move out date almost a month later as a ploy to keep my money. I've trusted u-haul my entire life. (I'm in my 50's) but am utterly appalled and disappointed in this u-haul location and their lack of decency and professionalism!!!THOMAS S. | Expérience générale

RAT POISON TRAPS AND MOUSE GLUE TRAPS, A TOTAL OF 3 INSIDE THE UNIT I RENTED. NO SEAL AT BOTTOM OF ROLLING DOOR ON RIGHT SIDE UNDER LOCK AT DOOR LEVEL. I WAS TOLD THE UNITS AT THIS FACILITY HAD RECENTLY FLOODED. THIS STORAGE LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL AND CLEAN UNITS IN THE ONLINE VIDEO. I WAS ASKED BY THE EMPLOYEE ON DUTY FOR MY LOCK CODEWORD ON THE $15 LOCK I HAD JUST PURCHASED. WHEN I TOLD HIM I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THAT HE SAID HE DID NOT HAVE TO HAVE IT. ALSO, I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION BY U-HAUL'S ONLINE ADVERTISEMENT THAT THESE UNITS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE CLIMATE CONTROLLED. I WAS HOWEVER TOLD THAT THESE UNITS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO EXTREMES OF BOTH HEAT AND COLD. THE STUFF I PLANNED TO STORE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT RISK. I RETURNED THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE DAY AFTER I HAD RENTED THIS UNIT, TO RETRIEVE MY ITEMS. I DID NOT FEEL THEY WERE SAFE THERE. I ASKED FOR A PARTIAL REFUND SINCE I HAD RENTED THIS UNIT FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS, AND WAS REFUSED BY THE MANAGER THAT THE PERSON ON DUTY CALLED ON THE PHONE. I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH A REFUND FOR 3 WEEKS NOT USED, SINCE MY STUFF WAS THERE OVERNIGHT.THOMAS S. | Premières impressions
