The drop off location was convenient. However, since it was a drop off location many people dropped off their u-haul rental anywhere (I believe it he vehicles were left during non-office hours) on the lot making it a bit challenging to leave the truck. There should be spots designated for returns.

Again, this is my first time suing the U-Haul app. It took me a bit longer to complete the return via the app at around 1:30 a.m. in the morning. Be prepared to take photo of front vehicle, back vehicle, inside vehicle and odometer.

This was a horrible experience. The first time I was in there they did not flip the ball on the hitch like I told him to and the trailer was scraping everything in town so I went back, they took an hour to find the tools and flip it and they did not check the lights. So I went back again and they said they fixed the lights so I left again and the trailer fell off and slammed into the back of my car and damaged it because they did not screw it back on after fixing the lights. The tow truck driver said that every single light on the side was busted and he had to rewire the electrical because two wires were touching and I was lucky it did not catch on fire. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! The last location that I used was great but this place was obviously a dump!!

Make sure there is at least half a tank of gas. The gauge is not very precise, and even though I only went about 40 miles round trip, the low fuel light came on before I got to the freeway from the rental location.

One employee working the yard! Checked in @ 1:00 pm still had to wait for truck for over 15 minutes, just to get the keys. Waited on the lot for over 30 minutes just to verify mileage and fuel level. Need more workers to service customers faster. Nobody cares!

I would not recommend you to any one. You were extremely rude to a 70 year old veteran which I find absolutely appalling. You charged us $100.00 to go 39 miles. When we returned we had no choice but to fill up the truck when we came back. And this truck had under a half a tank when we left. Your a disgrace. See you in small claim's court.

Truck's transmission was showing signs of age, very unwilling to upshift. Clerks at Uhaul location were unfriendly, tired and uninterested in helping customers. The day laborers offering moving services were much more enthusiastic than the employees at this location.

Hello, I just received the invoice and there are serious discrepancies. I was charged $228.20 for a service I couldn’t use. The truck was inoperable after it was picked up. This, wasting my time waiting for a dispatcher to show up and eventually waiting on a tow truck to tow the U-Haul. I am very displeased with your service. I needed a U-Haul to transfer an ice cream refrigerator to a wedding event. As the even concluded, I required your U-Haul to transfer the refrigerator along with hundreds of dollars worth of product back to my shop. Being that your U-Haul broke down, I not only lost out on all of the product (being that it’s ice cream) but I also had to pay a storage fee of $150 so that I could keep the aforementioned supplies at the venue. Not to mention, I waited for dispatch and a tow truck past 2:45am. This whole ordeal was an absolute nightmare. You offer a service and you should stand behind that service. It was unprofessional to loan an inoperable vehicle. The dispatch gentleman stated that this isn’t the first time the vehicle has broke down.

Very interesting experience. Quality of trailer was excellent - always a good and cost effective product. Customer Service - terrible. Its starts when I go to pick up the trailer. The attendant is sitting on his phone and tells me "I'll be right with you" while he is finishing his text message. We finalize the transaction and I ask about price matching with Penske because we have a move coming up and there are signs all over the store that says "we price match". He says "we do price match, but you'll have to talk to the manager". Ok, I said, where is the manager. Response, he's not here. I bring the trailer back - no one comes up to me for about ten mins so I start to detach the trailer myself. An attendant comes up sucking on a lollipop and all he says is "hey, how was it" - letting me finish unhooking the U-Haul trailer (apparently unhooking a trailer and sucking on a lollipop are mutually exclusive). Regardless, once I get the trailer unhooked, dude pops his lollipop out to tell me the price is double from the estimate. I ask, "how can that be?" His response - I don't know man, I just work outside, you'll have to talk to someone inside. I go inside to be told - we don't know what he's talking about but you're good go for the original price quoted. Then I, again, ask about the price matching with Penske. I am told that they do it but I would have to call corporate..... Really? I write this to say, this location is great if you want to wait around, do all the work, and beg for their future business. We got a quote with Penske for about 30% cheaper than U-haul. We will be sticking with Penske for our future move, While I don't rent trailers or trucks often, next time, U-Haul will be on the bottom of list, unfortunately.

Improve the over night drop off. I tried to drop of the rental over night but the lot was full all the way to the drive way so I could not return the rental. This was a problem because I have work the next morning and would not have time to return it when they open. This was a problem and they need to improve how to drop off the rental over night.

I really wanted to compliment the young woman who checked us out at the Long Beach location. She was sweet and knowledgeable and helpful and so nice allvwhile juggling several customers. Imgoing for 3 stars because the staff did try their hardest with my visit. I did an online reservation and pickup from this location. I was at this location for 3 hours 10am-1:00. staff member Tommy helped me in between time with the steps to go through which I’m thankful for... the biggest issue came when a previous customer locked the uhaul keys I was assigned inside the vehicle. I was told it was nothing they could do about it I was giving a number to call and ask for a refund since I had already paid online as well. I call the number wait around and the agent told me she couldn’t help me. I was told that the truck was dispatched to me and stated I left the grounds with the truck. Although I was still at the site next to the truck. She then gave me 2 more numbers and transferred me over to one of the 2... (one for the refund and the second number for someone else to find me a truck at another location) I finally get transferred over to a customer service rep that was able to help. The customer service rep listened to all I had to say then did his magic right after (I was very calm, not his fault) instead of the refund and new truck he just set me up with a different truck same location (17’ inch, I previously had a 15’inch) I went back inside stood in the extremely long line to finally reach the desk where both employees had to keep running back and forth inside and outside for trucks etc which took forever... then I was finally told I should’ve just came to the desk and asked for the key instead of standing in line after I was told to get in line I say this you guys was extremely under staff and 3 employees was not enough people to be working they really did the best that they could with all the craziness that was going on. Although it was a horrible experience I do not blame the staff and give them the kudos for dealing with it all

My experience was a bit of a nightmare. Moving alone is extremely stressful, then uhaul made it even more stressful. Earlier in the week I had made reservations for a 17’ truck. I was told the closest location did not have it and while unfortunate, that wasn’t the nightmare. I confirmed my reservation at the next closest location, however, the day of, while running late, I attempted to make a change online and noticed I was reserved for a 10’ cargo van. I definitely did NOT reserve a small cargo van to move my 2 bd apartment into my 2 bd house. I called and spoke to a manager regarding a later pick up AND the incorrect reservation. The manager said a late pick up would be fine, he would just make a notation and the manager MAY have to call me to confirm. When I received an email regarding this change, the location had also been changed. I was now picking up at the original desired location just a few blocks from my home. I thought, great, I can walk over there! I walked over to pick up my 17’ moving truck. When I arrived, not only did the NOT have my reservation, they didn’t have any uhaul day all! I walked back home, had my mother take me to the secondary location. When I arrived at the second location, I told the very kind, very busy, woman assisting me the situation regarding the incorrect size of vehicle and how I had called and spoke to someone (a man) and they had ‘corrected’ the reservation. When the woman began entering my information, the ONLY notation was I was coming in late to pick up moving vehicle. It took the VERY kind woman almost 2 hours, TWO HOURS(!!!) to find me the 17’ moving van I had reserved and had been confirmed to pick up Saturday 3/30/2019. Other people came in and had absolutely no problem picking up their rental while I stood there with my senior mother waiting in the car and my 2 yr old son. Yeah, seniors and toddlers waiting that long does NOT make for happy seniors and toddlers. Finally, 2 hours later, there had been a cancellation and I was able to have that SMALLER truck which I had made a reservation for. After 2 hours, I settled for a 15’ truck. All in all, I’m upset with the way uhaul completely overbooked our move and continuously changed my order without my consent. I should not have been waiting for TWO HOURS when a reservation had been made. Oh, and about the original service agent (the male) who assisted me when I was running late, he told me a manager may have to call me. When I arrived and the woman was assisting me, she told me the man who had helped me WAS A MANAGER!!!! So a manager told me a managers need to call me. While the truck itself was fine, the experience was horrendous. I look forward to not having to move and deal with uhaul for a very long time, if ever if I find another truck rental. Thankfully the woman assisting me moved ‘heaven and earth’ to help me.

Only two employees were handling a busy Sunday morning. Furthermore, when one needed to ask the other a question, they would leave the desk and go outside to do so. Handheld radios would greatly help this situation. Additionally, our 26’ vehicle key was hung on the hook for vans. I had to suggest looking in the other books for the personnel to find the proper key. Re-labeling the key fobs to clearly mark the vehicle size would solve this situation. Not an efficient location that day and several frustrated customers in line. Please consider the above suggestions. Thank you

I made my reservation a week prior to my move for a truck and auto transport. When picking up the truck, they recommended that I come back at the end of the day to attach the auto transport. When I arrived to U-Haul, after they've attached the auto transport, they notified me that they made a mistake and the auto transport they have is for in-town only. They made me drive the U-Haul truck an additional 15 miles to Torrance U-Haul to pick up an auto transport.

I'm very happy that this location allows "night drop off" of equipment. i use it every time I rent a trailer. Unfortunately, this time the lot was completely full on Sunday night and I had to take the trailer home and return it the next morning. It's a city location with limited space. Perhaps they have too much inventory?

It was a very busy day there, they were understaffed and overworked and would like to compliment all the employees there for handling it all so well. From the guy who stayed 2 hours past his shift clocked out, to the girl behind the counter and to the Tommy outside working in the rain. they deserve raises.

I scheduled a pick up a week ago for 7:30am today using the online Share 24/7. The van wasn’t assigned to me at that time. So I had to come back later when the store opened, putting me 2 hours behind schedule. When I called the number online for Alvin the store manager no one picked up. When I called customer service I got transferred to 3 people before someone told me that there wasn’t anything they could. Then when I ask for compensation I get transferred to another person who tells me I need to call back for a refund. The guy that helped me, Joseph, was attentive and got me in and out quickly but he blamed customer service for not notifying the store and customer service blames the store. So which is it? Why have an online application that’s supposed to make the process easy when no one can be held accountable and there is no follow through to make sure these types of incidents don’t happen.

Kevin Taylor helped me with my reservation. The gas was not filled to where it should’ve been. He explained if we brought it back filled to we’re it should be I get a $20 reimbursement. I returned the U-Haul with the amount needed plus more. The lady at the front desk said she had only been there for a couple weeks. That the system wouldn’t allow her to give me a $20 refund and Kevin was no longer there to talk to.

Needed to rent a truck quickly for a huge project that created a need to remove lots of styrofoam. Went online to UHaul and was surprised how easy and quick I could get it done. I read the reviews and wondered how they could consistently score so high. But after using express check-in, having pictures of the truck sent to my phone to approve and very nice and knowledgeable employees, I could certainly see why. Both Kevin and John were great to work with and made the experience well worth the five stars! Thank you
