The truck was clean enough but didn't smell very good. I thought the deposit was very high, it used to be $100. Now I'm still waiting for the charge to drop off and the rental amount to be charged to my account. I think having to wait for the rest of my deposit amount it tying up my money that I could be using for other things. Hope that works out OK.Gary S.

I got in the truck after picking up the keys and it was absolutely disgusting. Smelled like smoke, not clean interior with pieces of food all over the floor and the rear of the truck was even worse. Broken glass, pieces of bagel on the ground, crayons. Disgusting. I was supposed to pick up a U-Haul at Hines self storage in Plainfield. I confirmed with the owner of the place on Thursday. Even though he was going to be out of town he already had the unit ready for me. U-Haul corporate then called me Friday night and changed it on me. This made me have to drive an extra 20 miles and get charged the extra miles which is absolutely ridiculous. I shouldn't have ever had to pay the extra mileage especially after confirming with the owner the previous day. This isn't the first time either. Last time they changed the location pickup too making me drive an extra 30 miles and have to pay it. I will never ever recommend U-Haul ever to anyone. Over the last couple days I've been writing negative reviews on every website I can find in order to let everyone know my experience. Also I forgot to mention the lady from corporate that called to change my pick up location hung up on me after I questioned the pick up location. She said, â€œyou either want the truck or not?â€ I said yes I need the truck. Right after that she hung up on me. Absolutely ridiculous!! Never again U-Haul. Never again!Michael S.

I normally have had good experiences with uhaul as in general and the store location itself. This time was very dissatisfied. The truck issued was loud, drove rough, and the back was dirty. Old ripped boxes, grass particles, red strings attached to the side boards. The link the text sent me did not work and I could not upload pictures to show the condition. It kept saying there was an issue. The gentleman I communicated with was very professional and kind. No issues with the staff. They need to have the engine to that truck worked on.Robin J.

They assigned a trailer and hooked it up, then let us know that the specific trailer can't leave the lot. He then hooked another trailer up but the lights were not working. We then had to follow him to another location to get a different trailer.Carrie S.

Problem is, when you advertise 6' wide trailer with ramp, the opening is not 6'. The opening with ramp is 57â€ exact! Please add this information to listing!Michael D.
The only problem was the quote given to me on the phone was not accurate with the cost at the location when I arrived. You need to make accurate quotes on the phone to ensure someone can afford the cost when getting to the location. It was significantly more when I got to the rental location.CRYSTAL C.

I reserved and paid for a dolly and blankets ( the truck had none and none available when asked. I was moved to a different location for pickup 4 hours before my pickup and was promised a $50 credit which I have not received. Also still need credit for dolly and blankets that I paid for too.Alex H.

Agent was rude, did not check brake lights or turn signals , complained that people who rent trailers always show up when it's raining, I T had stopped when we hooked up. I went to activate turn signals and he walked away. He made little to no eye contact. I hope it was just having a bad day. I doubt it. The eyes tell you everything This guy hates his job. The only issue I had is that the back of the truck had a sign that said if we cleaned it we would get 25 off which I mentioned to the clerk when I returned the truck. I did not get 25 off. When we picked up the tank was not on full, the cab and back were dirty with trash. The check engine light was on. Overall this truck would be the worst I've ever rented. I understand thats like the luck of the draw though. I do wish I would have gotten my 25 off though since we cleaned the truck of dirt and trash that wasn't even ours. Overall the checkout clerk did a great job and both people I dealt with were very nice.Kristina A.

This was the 2nd time I have needed and asked for an appliance dolly on my reservation and when I picked up the truck was told they didn't have one. The gentleman who I dealt with seemed like he had much better things to do than deal with customers. Poorest experience I've had with uhaul.James D.

I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone I rented and reserved a pick up truck when I got there they gave me something completely different I told them that's not what I reserved at all I would up paying $70 plus $30 in gas it was ridiculous I will never be renting from U-Haul again and for future references if you want to improve anything if you don't have what the customer is asking for don't lie say u do and reserve it for them only for them to come pick it up and it be completely different then what they asked formegan C.
My credit was charge again after I return the truck which I think it's not right, I'm suppose to get my reimbursement for the actual mileage used, but instead they keep charging me additional fee for no reason and I'll definitely monitor that payment if it will be return or else I'm filling a complaint for a fraudulent transaction.Olufemi A.
When I made the reservation for the pickup truck, I declined the $10 insurance. When I got the truck, I was told I had to take take the insurance and that they "make everyone take it because the trucks are leased". Git the truck and it was obvious it hadnt been cleaned from the previous renter. Filthy in the cab of the truck. Took a pic of the mileage and gas quantity. Gas was 5/16 and not 1/2 as stated on the contract. Mileage was 1854, not 1814, as stated on the contract. I decided I'd wait to address the discrepancies when I returned the truck, as there were several customers in line. When I returned the truck I brought up the issue with the gas and mileage. I showed her the pics of when I picked up the truck and just before returning for proof. She wrote it down and said she'd get it taken care of when the guy checked the truck in and that she'd have her supervisor call me to verify and confirm charges and refund. Never happened! She should've checked the truck in herself while I was there. I don't like leaving with my rental equipment not checked in. Later I called Uhaul customer service to dispute the $10 insurance charge and explain the situation with the fuel and mileage. Michele Morelli assisted and had me email the pics of the before and after mileage/fuel. She said she would email the GM at that location regarding the issues. The next morning I recieved an updated equipment contract from them finally checking in the truck. The mileage showed my return mileage, but the fuel remained at 1/2, not the 5/16 I filled it back to. I wasn't charged anymore, but I wasn't reimbursed any either. Based on the updated contract, they should've charged my to refill it to half tank and also, had the mileage been accurate, I would've gone over the original 60 I signed for. I emailed Michele Moreli explaining all this and expected a reply. Here it is 24 hours later and I have not gotten one. As of today, no one from the Uhaul location has contacted me either. The employees out there need retrained. There's a lack of leadership and attention to detail. They're either incompetent, insubordinate or apathetic. I'm thinking a combination of all three. I'll be needing my unused mileage and the $10 insurance I waived refunded immediately.Tim M.

Van was dirty; fuel wasn't full; tire pressure was way low-told he just put air in it & the sensor was bad-not true, 30 pounds low in rear tires & light went out after we put air in the tires; no windshield washer fluid; right rear turn signal was out; when dropped of van, employee was rude.Jennifer O.

The uhaul trailer I rented had 2 bald tires. I blow out one tire one hour into my trip and had to wait three hours to get it repaired. Found out a second tire was unacceptable and repair truck brought two tires and replaced them. Repair person was excellent. Should not be sending out vehicles with such bad tires. Also had to reschedule my unloading crew for the next day which cost me an extra day charge for the trailer and I missed my closing on my home which cost me $95. Not the best experience with uhaul. I would hope someone would contact me about this experience.GARY O.

Cargo van showed a consistent low pressure warning for a tire. Even staff filled the tire the warning remained. Later a warning came up that said the tire pressure warning system required maintenance.David S.

The entrance was blocked off. Had a hard time getting in and out. Had to drive through a tight parking spot to enter the facility. It took 45 minutes to get the trailer parked in a spot that wasn't in the way for everyone else. I will not ever rent a u haul from this location nor drop one off there. Another gentleman pulled in with a trailer as I was leaving and he drove around for 20 minutes like me trying to figure out how to enter the facility. It is nice y'all have the option to drop off at other locations, but for future please do not block off an entrance to the facility when you offer the self check out after hours. Make sure the equipment is safe to operate. Before leaving I notified the employees of a low tire, they just said the sensor was broken and then put air in the tire. Half way to my destinationâ€¦the check engine light came on. I tried to call the location to let them know, nobody answered. Over all, horrible experience.
