I rented a 15 ft truck and 5 x 9 trailer. My call center reservation was fine, but the local offices moved it 15 miles away. UHaul must track inventory better than it does.

I gptta say...the staff there at the North Hollywood U-Haul ouflet on Victory B;vd. did a great job. They were professional, courteous, and efficient under harried conditions. They were extremely busy both when I rented the Van, and also brought it back. And the vehicle was clean and well maintained, and really performed well for what I had to do.

While this was just a quick drop off, the staff there asked about my experience where I told her about the chain breaking. She was helpful insomuch as she told me what was the cause of the break, which was that the trailer hitch was too low to the ground and the solution would be to flip the toe hitch to give it more space so that the chains would not be hitting the ground.

HORRRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Very unprofessional staff, when stuck with the truck at a gas station because it wouldn't start back up upon drop off arrival, no one was available to assist, so we had to spend additional money to Uber to the U-Haul to let them know of the situation. Upon our arrival, we approached staff that were NOT following CDC guidelines of wearing a mask in the store. Other customers as well were not wearing masks, and nothing was said about it. When confronted by the staff of what my issue was, The staff rudely replied I only work here and was unwilling to help us with our situation. When requested for the manager he gave an attitude. Both employees names are listed below: Fidel Ruiz and Ruben Banegas We also found a homeless person sleeping in the back of a U-Haul truck when we were departing and nothing was clean. Felt very unsanitary!

Everyone was very nice and accommodating. Only thing is, and I told the main customer service person on the 800-Uhual call center line, and the employees of this store, that the info about parking at the location is wrong. This needs to be updated on the website. You CANNOT park your car there when you rent, unless you park on the main street, which is not in a great area, and there may be restrictions on parking there (I didn't check the street signs). So you MUST have someone drop you off and pick you up if you don't want to leave your car parked on the main street (again, that might not even be legal - I never checked the signs). This is a huge piece of information to know for future customers not familiar with this location.

The cargo space of the truck upon return by the previous renter was not clean. It was loaded with manure or some farm-field soil. I had to sweep out the residues and mop the walls and floor of the compartment before I could load my cargo. This caused a significant delay to the start of my transport. Also, the tread of the passenger-side front tire was well worn on the outside shoulder of the tire. This condition caused a worry about tire-failure for the duration of the extensive miles of driving. Maybe "just-in-time" truck-sharing should include a pause for prep and inspection before a truck is dispatched again.

Employees were not properly wearing masks. Noses (and in one case his mouth) were exposed. My vehicle wasn't ready until close to 30 minutes after my reservation and I had to fight for the $50 credit (you know, the one offered online that states "Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size, a $50 "Reservation Guarantee" will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation"). Afterwards, I was treated as someone whom they did not want to deal with. I believe that employees of any business should make the customers feel liked, not an annoyance. Don't treat the customer poorly because of a mistake made by an employee.

This was the location that saved my life if it wasn't for their fast actions on calling the police when I was kidnapped 7/21/20 the police would've never known i was the person they were looking for when they found me in that condition I also appreciate the friendliness of all the workers on duty on my visits

I booked a truck and when I got to the location at 12:30 pm, I was told that the reservation had been canceled, because it was made for 12:30 am. I was never informed of the cancellation. Really bad!!!!

I would like to thank April. I spoke with her when I called in on Thursday the 17th. I had been given a little bit of a run around earlier in the day, but April nailed it! Her customer service was perfect. She checked back with me when she had to place me on hold, she had my account already pulled up, and she was empathetic. Not only were her soft skills on point, she got everything taken care of for me in the system and I was able to go pick up the trailer and get my son moved to college. Thank you April!!

The truck was dirty and had to be cleaned but was still dirty when I left. The truck needed service. The transmission felt like it was slipping making it hard to drive, the steering was all over the place and the mirrors would not stay adjusted to the position I set them. I could only have the truck for 6 hours but was chanted a full day rate. I'm not happy with Your location at all. The only good thing was the young man that helped me at drop off.

Returning vehicles is often a bit of a clusterf###. Too many personal vehicles and no specific lanes or process for pulling up and getting checked in. Otherwise, these guys are great.

self check in by app was useless, kept me wait for 15 min for approval, then i had to go in to get the key anyway. and back of truck had a lock which i only noticed after i drove it to my place. i tried to call them to get the combination but they did not answer so i had to drive back to get it unlocked. they discounted for the lost time and mileage but that was really inconvenient. worst experience ever.

I reserved a tow dolly from the Canyon Country California location on Sierra Hwy, and the severe issues with my experience started there. Issue (1) rental of the tow dolly at the Canyon Country location, upon equipment hookup to my vehicle the employee noticed that the tow dolly was damaged (left side support strut broken clean behind front weld) the employee tried to convince me that the equipment was OK for use. manager inspected and found dolly unfit for use. Issue (2) Canyon Country Manager found me another Tow Dolly at 11666 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA, I had to pick up dolly at this location and I HAD TO TAKE BACK TO North Hollywood! I had NO OPTION to drop off the dolly at the Canyon Country location (which is my home city) without being charged $150 for the rental. IT WAS YOUR FAULT THE THE EQUIPMENT WAS UNSAFE AND UNFIT AT CANYON COUNTRY, and I should have had options to drop off the rental at ANY U-Haul location at no EXTRA CHARGE due to the inconvenience and dangerously unfit condition of the Canyon Country rental equipment. U-Haul has Equipment Transport Drivers that could have returned the Dolly to North Hollywood that way I could have not had to waist my time and gas to return the dolly to North Hollywood. This experience was a COMPLETE FAILURE in U-Haul customer service and RENTAL EQUIPMENT SAFETY.

The person who checked me in took over 1 hour, and had to install a mirror on the van. He did NOT properly install the mirror and it was very hard to drive the van, as the mirror was shaking the whole time!! Would not recommend.. It took him 6 trys to fix the mirror and it was still broken!!

I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone based on this experience. I am in Sherman Oaks, booked a truck one way to Berkeley. Fortunately phoned to check on something only to discover I was expected to drive to Santa Barbara for pick-up, which was absurd. Changed to a round-trip in a van, called and requested the largest possible, repeated the request upon pick-up, was instead given one of the smaller ones which meant I had to leave stuff behind. I will not be coming back.

Clean yard, its a bit messy, location not very customer friendly. Yard area too small. larger area would be better. Small office, in fact i never went in there. The young lady was very friendly and personable not her fault the are is not welcoming.
