I originally rented the truck from a place closer to my address. This was done for a few reasons. It was more convenient, the route was easier To drive, and it was less miles since I'm paying for each mile. However, when I went to pick it up, I found out that U-Hual had switched my reservation to a different location. That was not helpful considering I had other people waiting on me. All that said, the location on International was a very quick process, the truck was ready to go, and the staff was helpful. I also felt safe about leaving my car there all day while I had the truck.

The staff was very welcoming upon my entry into the establishment. The gentleman explained my contractual agreement and was professional while doing so. Upon my returning of the 20' truck, the gentleman was very friendly also and was very timely with gathering my information which he emailed to me as expressed. I will indeed rent from this location again as needed and I will definitely tell others. Very appreciative customer.

The pickup location that I chose was changed after I had made the reservation. That really upset my plans. Don't offer anything on-line that you are not willing to come through on. I did not like your website at all, with all the things you are making us klick through until we can make the reservation we need. I dont want to be forced to look at all your offers. List them in a general way on the first page, and then leave us alone with it. Have it as a choice, not as a must.

I made a one way reservation far in advance, did online check in and paid. My reservation was cancelled day before my move via EMAIL!! No one called to discuss options, they just canceled it. I called and got a new reservation that required me drive 65 miles back to return the truck! When I picked up the truck the dolly and blankets I paid for weren't available. I had to drive to another and do another contract to get those items and I had to rush my move to get the truck back and not be charged and extra day. No one showed me how to use the truck or did a review of the truck/damage before I left in it. They just said make sure the gas and mileage is right and threw me the keys. The check engine light was on the entire time. The staff was friendly but the entire experience was a disaster and such a source of stress. It should have been so much better!!! I would like some sort of compensation for my time and gas and how much I had to go out of my way on moving day because of how this was handled.

Cleaning and maintaining vehicles would be a start. My truck was disgusting and extremely unsafe to drive. It swayed back and forth while driving on the freeway, to the point where I had to pull off and drive under 35mph. I do NOT recommend this U-Haul branch to anyone. The associate that "helped" me was incredible rude too.

The workers at this U haul Branch were fine. The over all experience was difficult because there was never a guarantee of trailer being available for my one way move . I had to arrange and pay for movers to help me and motel stays without knowing if I was really going to get a trailer till the last minute.

Upon arriving, Uhaul representative Anna was friendly and very accommodating. She answered all of our questions we had concerns about renting the 10' ft truck. She was willing to extend our rental until following day in the am but we had the option to return by 6 pm same day at no extra charge. Everything in the contract was explained. Good experience and would rent again from this location.

When I requested it they said it was reserved didn't get that because I reserved it as well so the pick up was stressful I believing they didn't want my family to have the trailer. hello we had another reservation at 1411 55th av at 4;30pm. we come at 9am because we needed to pick up the u-haul earlier than we reserved for. when we got to the location we meet an employee by the name off jose. from the moment he asked us to come in he was behaving very unprofessional manner. we had our reservation nr ,and he just wouldn't look it up . he keept saying what is your name and i cant;t find your reservation, i then pulled out my text message that i received from my online pre registration that clearly showed not only did we have reservation at that location it also showed the confirmation nr, he got really rude to me and my husband started talking to us like we are children. it was very clear to me that he didnt know anthing and that he was in over his head. i would say he needs training, but its my professional opinion that someone like that with no self control or self regards for custommer service should remain un employee for your company. my recomandation for him is to be terminated immediately. but the young lady on the other location was very helpfull

I am not complaining about the employees. I am upset about the system. This is the 3rd time I have used u haul and they said I did not fill the gas tank. The tank when i checked out was at the line before the full line. I filled it exactly there upon return. The cell phone used to check it in showed an extra line between the last two lines. He stated that it should have been filled there. It was not there when I checked it out I filled it to the line on the van gauge. I was charged 7.00 for the gas. Why would I be charged when you are not going to fill it back up anyway considering you do not have a pump on the lot. The tank should be filled up every time it is returned if you are requiring pin point accuracy! Not his fault and I am not blaming him but the gauge on the phone and van are different!

Rude counter personnel. Other guys walking around seemed fine, however. (Lots of bodies at this location... standing around... when instead they could be deployed to assist moving around inventory in the city to better meet customers' needs & "preferences". But who am I? Just a gal forced to rent a car to pickup a Uhaul that gave me a cracked windshield for a 30hr trip and refused my already-confirmed dolly order... causing me to pay four tolls for the experience in addition to adding four hours onto the load-out of my condo... thanks to this location's lack of coordination... NO DOLLIES ON A FRIDAY PICKUP? GET A NEW JOB.

This place is not run like a well oiled machine but more like it was just thrown together yesterday. The checkout process is slow. The procedures for renting equipment are not well defined. There is no warning that the agent will need to call a friend who must answer their cell phone at the moment you're checking out. The online pre-checkout procedure doesn't seem to make much difference. The guy connecting the trailer to my car was not able to properly connect the 4-pin connector and ended up bending the power pin 90 degrees while forcing the connectors together. The checkout process was much smoother, but it so stupid that you make the cars drive out through the one-way check-in lane the wrong way. There are not enough people employed during high-volume hours, and it always seem to be this way every time I rent here.

Lisa Kugler was the staff member who helped us with picking up this reservation. She deserves a raise, a promotion, and better organization from regional leadership. I have no intention of using U-Haul again after this experience. Lisa (and the other staff present) were a positive and appreciated element in an otherwise nightmarishly mismanaged situation. I confirmed my reservation a week in advance, but less than 24 hours before pickup was notified that my reservation had been changed from a covered trailer to an uncovered one. Lisa was attentive, professional, patient, and kind with us and did what she could to get us set up with the equipment that was available. Two other people in line with us had the exact same issue and it quickly became clear that the regional reservation system is an absolute mess. Customers are having their moving plans thwarted by company disorganization and front-line staff who have no say in the regional management of reservations are having to bear the brunt of customer anger when people arrive only to learn their reservation isn't available. These staff are also the ones having to face the higher risk levels that come with more public exposure during COVID-19. They deserve better and so do people who are already in the chaos of moving and need equipment to be ready when it's supposed to.

It would have been good to know that the location was going to have to call someone who would answer right at that moment and agree to be added to the contract. I wasn't prepared for this. It was 11:30am, everyone I know is working or in school and I felt I should have been able to line up someone in advance. In addition, it's frustrating the in my general Uhaul experiences, a dolly has never been available to rent. Otherwise it is a pretty good experience. Thanks.

We rented a 20' truck in advance for our move for a 8:30am pickup, and received a call the day before saying our truck would not be ready until 2pm. When we arrived, we could not locate our truck on the property while following the online checkin process, so we went inside for assistance. The associate was unhelpful and rude, and asked me to finish my check-in even though I had explained I could not because we could not locate the truck. She also let us know at that time that they had no dollys available when we had rented 3 - information that would have been crucial to plan for in advance of our move. The associates quickly realized that they had given the 20' truck to a different customer, and called that customer demanding she bring back the truck to exchange for her 15' truck. The associate placed blame on this customer for somehow being given the incorrect truck, and took no responsibility for the mistake. We were told to wait in our car until the customer brought back the truck, with an unknown ETA. We called the customer service line immediately, and the associate we spoke to told us there were no other 20' trucks in the area so we would get the 15' truck instead. The associates in the store did not assist with this support whatsoever and were prepared to let us wait for hours until the previous customer brought back our truck, even after she had stopped (understandably) answering her phone with demands to return the truck.

This is NOT the location a reserved a truck at. I reserved a truck at the pick-up spot right around the corner, and you moved my rental the night before to 15 miles away, so I had to pay for a Lyft both ways. NOT HAPPY.

I always use this location and it is usually great. The staff in the yard were excellent patient and knowledgeable. The staff inside this particular visit seemed run down, impatient and humorless., but they got the job done. For me it was extremely frustrating because I came on Sunday morning, and the staff insisted on calling my emergency contact person to confirm it. Well, that sucks for two reasons, first, my contact shouldn't have to be bothered on a Sunday morning just because they agreed to be my emergency contact. Second, nobody told me they would have to be called, so I didn't prepare them for the call. After calling four times, and trying my bother as an alternative - unsuccessfully, I almost left to go rent elsewhere. Finally my contact texted me and said they kept getting a strange number bit couldn't answer it. On the lastbtry it worked. If that is a policy, it is a stupid one. If it is a policy you should tell people in advance that this will happen. Besides, it is ridiculous, what if I don't have anyone to put as my emergency contact... does that mean you won't rent me a trailer.... that's insane! So, knock it off with calling the emergency contact when I rent. If it happens again I will stop using U-Haul!

Check in equipment on time. I received a bill for two days when I returned the equipment the same day. The employee who received the trailer did not check the equipment in until nearly 24 hours later.

Emergency break release was worn to the point of being difficult to use. Otherwise, vehicle was fine. Did not like having to verify my identity with a phone call to emergency contact person,but was already committed to acquire vehicle. Entryway on South side kind of narrow, (bumpy.) Overall,nice people to deal with. Closest gas station Vallero (I think) which is several blocks north on International Blvd.

There is one young lady that works at 5330 International Blvd location that can use a little more education on professionalism, but other than that, my experience with the truck was good. It was new and clean. One thing that should be listed on the website is, a credit card is needed for the pick-up truck and passenger van. I didn't find out I needed one until I got there. Thankfully, my ride let me use their's.

Staff friendly, not helpful. First off I never rented this thing. This is the worst expirence I have ever had with any retailer. It took 2+ months to get this resolved. Won't use uhaul again
