As soon as I drove away, I noticed that there was a sticky residue all over the steering wheel, seats and door handles. The vehicle was not cleaned before I picked it up. And when I returned the vehicle at 5:05 pm, just 5 minutes late, I was charged another $20 even though staff was inside the store with the doors locked.Clifford F.

Service was not very friendly or organized. Checking reservations every morning and letting people know that you don't have the truck you had approved them fire maybe before the customer arrives so they know and don't show up having to wait for you to solve it like I did.IRIDIAN M.

The service rep booking our rental purposely misled us, reserved the wrong equipment and service for our needs then left the building. Only by accident did we call the main u-haul phone number to clarify and double check our service did we find out that we were provided with the wrong equipment and service. We would have been in a terrible situation that would have cost us substantially more money, time and hassle. We then returned to the u-haul location and a different service rep. straightened out the reservation and exchanged the equipment, but a lot of our time was wasted.Dean B.

Homegirl working on Sunday mornings is not a happy girl. I hope she can get a better job where she isn't so sour about her co-workers. And I only know this because she was complaining about the lack of support from her team to another co-worker as I was trying to give her the phone number attached to the reservation. The most important part of this feedback is that I noticed and APPRECIATED everyone ELSE working in the building, in fact, one of the guys behind the counter, who didn't have anything to do with my transaction, was more helpful and pleasant than the woman who assisted me. Getting checked in was very fast and efficient(which is important when moving) and I was happy with the rented equipment ( vans were great on gas mileage!) So I hope you understand that you have a good team in this store and that sometimes it takes one bad apple to ruin the entire experience basket. That woman who I dealt with today is your bad apple.Daniele D.

Odometer is broken and we were charged outrageously for less than 15 miles. Unacceptable. From Oakland to San Leandro, one trip, came back two hours before the return window and supposedly charged for 214 miles?!!!Keith P.

This location does not allow to drop off after hours. Apparently, you have to leave your car overnight (unless someone else can help you pick it up) and you can only return the trucks while the business is open because of theft...They say that they don't break into personal vehicles only the U-hauls. Still doesn't feel great leaving your car there over night. Provide a secure way to drop off the U-haul and pick up your car after hours.Bettina D.

The person that made my reservation on 12/4 lied about having a cargo van. I reserved a cargo van, but when i got to location on 12/5, they do not have the van. They have something else. And the girls at the front desk were not too nice at first, no smile, nothing.ABIODUN H.

My reserved equipment was "given away". I had to stand in line for 30 minutes only to get the same cocky, rude, racist treatment as I always do from the agents (mostly the women; the men aren't so rude). It's too bad U-Haul doesn't have locations in Oakland with even a single Caucasian on staff. Too bad the African American staff at all of the locations near me are racially prejudiced. They are as rude as any place I have had the bad fortune of visiting. Their training is a joke and they just don't care if you don't like it. Their attitude is take it or leave it. I, unfortunately, have to rent from U-Haul on average twice per month. It is always a horrible experience and I have made it known but nothing changes so why do I bother with this "feedback"? Most businesses recognize a regular customer and treat them with care and consideration; not U-Haul of Oakland. Every visit is like my first; I am viewed as just another white face so treat me like it. Tolerate me because you have to as long as I don't ask any questions or pretend like I matter. As bad as I've ever experienced.Richard M.
Only one young lady wad friendly ever other person I spoke with was rude. Couldn't answer simple questions one of the reps just gave me attitude and out me in hold for an extended period over 15 min and never came back to the phone. Virtually impossible to reach a rep that's willing to help. Very frustrated and will never throw my money away with this company again. Overall horrible client service.TARA J.
