UHaul corporate is greedy like most of corporate America. You have one employee to fill propane tanks and dispatch moving trucks. And hook up trailers. And stand behind the computer. Only one employee to do all of that while there was 9 consumers waiting in line to give Uhaul their money. Dismal! It was a Saturday. I’ve always been treated this way at uhaul. Whether it’s been Chicago. Fort Worth Texas. Or Renton Washington. Apparently it costs to much to pay an employee to give good customer service. But uhaul is aware that there’s no where else to rent a trailer so F*** the consumer!

This location is excellent. Uhaul truckshare is terrible. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a representative trying to figure out why I could not pick up my truck on either of the two phones we were using in either the browsers or the app. It is ubsurd that there is no back up check in process for when uhaul's technology fails. And after all that, I had to drive an extra hour and pay for 50 additional miles ($75) for a smaller truck that required 2 trips to move. We already had people scheduled to arrive at 8 and that could not be switched. I paid $75 extra because uhaul has terrible mobile technology.

The truck was not checked in when I returned it and I was charged the deposit amount as well as the regular fee. Only when I called back in to check on why I was charged did they realize they hadn’t checked the truck in, and then agreed to refund my $100 deposit that will now take 3-5 business days to appear. Also, the mileage I was charged for was over 1,000 above what I actually put on the truck. That too was remedied later. Overall, frustrating, but seemingly fixed in the end.

It's dishonest woman who is manager there. We rented the truck 10 foot for 24 hours. Got the truck sunday at 1pm and returned on Monday at 11.36 am. ( total more than 22 hours )We received the invoice for 2 days and also insurance 2 days. We called the Uhaul customer service and she told lie that we returned at 1.46 pm. We have proof that we were at the store 11.36 am Monday 07/15/2019. We are waiting to get the money back. Try to call her but didn't got her call back. Bad service

Arrived when the place was extremely busy and we were backed clear out onto the street trying to get into the drop off area. The wait was unreasonable and if an area manager hadn't showed up to expedite the process I would have left angry and would have posted a harsh yelp review but the area manager was a sweetheart and was able to take care of me and others with speed and courtesy.

Just screaming and being loud without a care that others were around. It made me very uncomfortable and I would never ever want to have to deal with her or work with her. I would not return.

They said it was because I went over the mileage ?!?!I don’t understand that because they charge you by the mile and I said it was approximately 40 miles that I was going and because I went 56 they charge me another $30

After waiting in the rental return line with a sign stating “stay here” for about 5 minutes I walked into the office and was waved to by the employee walking into the service area. Assuming she was in her way to help me, I went back out. After a few more minutes I walked back in and she was starting a rental contract with another customer that had just arrived. I finally unhooked the trailer myself, walked in and told her I dropped it off and left. When I arrived and for the first 10 minutes I was there, I was the only customer on the premises so it wasn’t a matter of the location being busy. I will admit that after my experience picking up the trailer, my perception of this location might be tainted.

Install took FOREVER! Constant delays. We moved up our day and time because Uhaul called us and they seemed to want to get it done earlier so we changed our schedule. Said it would take 2 hours, took more like 4.

They told us we could pick up a time after 7 am but when we arrived our trailer wouldn’t be there for 2 hours.

The gal during check out did not explain return timeframe well- and charged us for an entire 24 hours additional but told us we had to bring the trailer back in the morning - instead of allowing us to keep the trailer for the 24 hours additional we paid. Also- we only rented 1 hand truck and 2 dollies and were charged for 2 hand trucks and 2 dollies- over charging us for all of that x’s 2 as well. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.

I show up at 5pm for a self pickup and no vehicle was assigned yet. So I go in instead to try and get the vehicle assigned to me on a 4 hour deadline.. I had requested a furniture dolly and even mentioned it at the time of pickup and it was not included when I arrived at my destination to move my furniture. I then had to drive to the store to buy a dolly on my own dime ($50) also adding miles to my agreement.. I returned the vehicle the next day with a half tank more gas than I picked it up (since it was at less than a quarter when I picked it up)... basically just my worst experience I’ve had as a regular customer at uhaul.. really not worth the money spent, and extra money for the mileage and dolly I was never given..

The Uhaul location I picked up the vehicle was excellent! However, my overall experience was poor due to the fact my vehicle was checked out with an almost dead battery. I spent the better half of a day waiting for my vehicle to get a new battery, as if moving isn’t stressful enough. There should be systems in place to mitigate something like this ever happening. It’s really unacceptable and unprofessional that UHaul doesn’t pre check before every rental.

Overall, a decent experience. With two other people in front of me in line, it took over 45 minutes to check out my rental. There was only one man working. He was trying his best, but he clearly needed some assistance. After about 40 minutes of waiting, a kind woman came to help with the line. I was able to check out in less than 5 minutes. I received the truck in great condition. Returning the truck later that day, I just dropped my keys off with the one man working in the office. He was occupied with a line of customers as well.

Worst experience with a moving company ever... was told my personal vehicle was fine to park where it was, upon return after hrs, its blocked in and nobody answers the phone. I have to drive the truck all the way to Auburn again... return in the morning to hear excuses and the blame put on me.... and the best part is they try to charge me for the miles I was forced to drive it home. Have called Cheryl the “mgr” 4 times and still no reply. Ended up talking to the President of WA Uhaul, and sorta got things straightened, but will never use them again.... and will advise all to do the same. Pathetic

Over all the 10' Truck I rented was in good mechanical condition but when I got to my move location and opened the rear cargo door the smell of feces was so strong it gagged both me and my son and you could see where it was smeared on the side wall of the cargo container. U-Haul needs to do a better job of looking in their cargo vans and making sure there cleaned also.

I will never use Uhaul again. Worst experience ever. They switched my pickup location the same day I had my trailer reserved. The new pickup location was an extra hour each direction with traffic. This added almost an extra 4 hours for pickup and return!!! They also would not let me return to any other location. WTF! Unacceptable! I will post this on social media as well to warn my friends and family.

Picking it up was easy, got there by 8am and was out the door in 10min. The truck was full and the guy even gave me extra miles and upgraded me to a 15’. Didnt need the bigger truck but that was very courteous. The down side was that the truck was dirty on the inside like it was never wiped down with a rag and cleaner before. I didn’t even bother touching anything other than the steering wheel/turn signal and shifter. The uhaul shifts really weird and doesn’t shift easily either. Honestly a scary drive if you’re not used to driving a vehicle like that.

Short story: Overall an ok experience. The people are friendly but very busy...possibly overworked. Long Story: I had ordered a hitch installation online 6 days in advance. I show up on the day of installation and they do not have the part. They claimed it was shipped to a different store and was supposed to be forwarded on to them. However, one of the employees was kind enough to drive to the other store to get the part and bring it back. The hitch was then installed and it all worked out. It took longer than it should have but otherwise it turned out ok. My advice if ordering a hitch install online is to call ahead a day or two in advance of your date to confirm they have your parts and are ready to install!

First, my reservation was cancelled without asking or notifying me. This was not the fault of this particular location. The truck I received had the fuel cap alert and the check engine light was on. I was told that it was just a bad sensor and I should take the truck; however, that defeats the purpose of the check engine light. Both the attendant that checked it out to me and the attendant that I returned it to complained about the quality of the trucks they have in response to my questions about the check engine light.

This is the main issue I noted: the lock box containing my van's key already had the combination entered, i.e. it was already unlocked. Anyone could have come and taken the van. That makes me nervous about using this system again. If someone had taken my van, would I be held liable? It makes me not want to use the online check-in.

I reserved a truck 19.95 a day , was told when I came to pick it up that I only had it for 6 hr as they double booked it, then after I'm out using it sent me an text telling they wanted it back earlier, so for my 19.95 I got the truck for 3 hrs. I will never use the Renton uhaul on 4th again, place is a ripoff, the manager lies right to my face, DO NOT rent from here, many other reputable uhaul places out there that doesn't steal from you

The vehicle I rented was just transferred from the Ballard store, power steering didn't work properly especially when in parking situations backing in to destination parking spot to load etc. The vehicle had a large tendency wander over the road drifting due to a sloppy wore out steering box. Felt very unsafe and had to over correct then over correct again. I would rate the experience a solid F.

It is hard to overstate how disappointed I am with UHAUL. After first reserving online, I received a text message that the trailer I reserved was not available at the location I selected which was less than 1 mile from my home (even though it showed available on the web site when I reserved it). I talked with customer service and was directed to a pick-up location in Renton which was 32 miles from my home and would require transit for pickup and return during Seattle rush hour traffic. Upon arriving for pick-up, the trailer I had reserved and was redirected Renton for pick-up was not there! However, the pickup truck I also rented was available. I got the truck then had to drive another 10 miles further west to pick up the desired trailer (car transport) at 434 Rainier Ave N Renton. Unfortunately, the paperwork I had been given at 3131NE 4th St, Renton, WA 98056 was inaccurate as it stated a car dolly instead of car transport. As a result, I had to wait spend an additional hour at the Rainier Ave location to get this sorted. I will say the Rainier Ave location was staffed with a very helpful and understanding crew. They got me sorted and even put a trailer hitch onto the truck I rented from the 4th St UHAUL location as that location did not prepare the truck correctly for purpose. Upon return, I had to drop the trailer off at one location, then drive to the original location to drop off the truck. In total, I spent 2 hrs and 15 minutes for pick-up and 1 hour and 20 minutes for return. I only needed the trailer for a one-hour haul. With the exception of the Renton Ave location, my experience with UHAUL rates among the worst ,in terms of customer service, in my 60 years of life! I can't believe UHAUL can actually stay in business or make money operating like this. I will never use it as my first resort going forward.
