Although I had an issue receiving the wrong dolly, the simi valley store wouldn't pick up their phone, and had to speak to multiple operators before someone could actually help me... both the operator and the store manager really came through and basically saved my butt. Some rough edges with customer service need to be ironed out, but in the end I was very happy with the outcome.

The van was very dirty and left turn signal bulbs were out. The dash read out that oil change was needed. They had a dolly in the back not the dozen moving blankets I ordered. Self check out was awkward to use.

two things: 1. Your website is very difficult to use. I tried more than once to navigate it, and couldn't. It would not let me manage anything. I kept getting shut out. 2. I followed the guidelines for refilling the tank and overfilled. I asked for a refund, but the guy who processed my return said you did not give refunds for overfilling. Seeing as how I followed your recommendations, that seemed like a flat out scam.

All of the people were very customer service oriented. More importantly, they all seemed to enjoy their jobs and had pride in the company they work for. Joe stood out in this mainly because I interacted with him the most. Good crew you have here and I would use them again and 100 % recommend U-Haul to friends.

Ramp on truck didn't work properly! Increasing the level of difficulty while loading and unloading The weather strip on the drivers side fell out when opening door. There was something sticky and dirty was spilled in the back of the truck. I had to be careful so I didn't get item ruined. When I showed the mess to UHaul rep , at return, he told me " the stain was permanent couldn't be clean." I then show it does come out and wiped some of it up with my fingers. After pointing out these problems to the UHaul rep. He basically said it my fult for not doing a more detailed evaluation of the vehicle. I've rented aanumerous units from UHaul

The only issue was that the windshield was so dirty and wouldn't clean-up with the wipers. I had real problem seeing out of it. Aside from that, everything else was good. I've rented from these guys before and will continue- they are great.

I reserved online to do check-in at the location but upon arrival was told they only do online check-in, so wasted time doing all that. Website should have said so, I would have saved time. Staff was busy but good.

The van had a issue starting. The drivers window would jam and not roll up. The cruise control had serious issues. You would set the cruise at a speed, then when you hit the accelerate button on cruise it was stuck on wide open throttle and would accelerate the van at full throttle, even thou you only clicked it and released the button, I almost rear ended the car in front if me.

I declined all supplemental coverage and was still charge $14 for some local move coverage. I was also charge seven dollars for a dolly and I never had a furniture dolly. So basically I was ripped off 21 bucks

Trailer was overall good but one of the safety pins for the ramp broke at the weld on the trailer. Tuscon location stated not their trailer, not their problem, but offered to fix it for out of pocket $$ would've expected better from a national chain support wise. Simi location was cool and said they'd fix it as soon as I returned it.

My problem is not with this location. The staff there was helpful. My problem was with the reservation and pickup. I got to the location for self pickup and learn only then through your website that my reservation has been changed to in-person pickup. That destroyed my schedule with the loading help. It takes more than 30 minutes to get someone on the phone and then I have to get transferred and wait 30 minutes more before someone tells me there's not even a truck at that location for me. The closest was in Simi Valley, 15 miles away. Your system should know the night before whether there's a truck set up for a customer to self pick up. If there's not, you should be notifying them then and making other arrangements. What you have in place right now is HORRIBLE for customer service.

We were given a completely unsafe vehicle that put our lives in danger. The gear shift would not move as the transmission linkage cable was broken. U-Haul had NO urgency in fixing this and we lost a valuable 13 hours because of this issue.

The worst service ever. We are a production company. We rent cars and vans all the time. We never had any problems before. But this time with Uhaul simi valley, the experience was TERRIBLE!. We have been renting a van from u haul for a while. All u haul had to do was to charge the card on file. We received calls right and left, we were harassed each time they we extended the contract (although we were paying for it all the time) if the card was declined, although the reason why was because uHaul was charging several times in a row a higher amount than the correct amount, which raised a red flag for our bank that was blocking the transaction, and then our bank would let us know that someone was trying several times to charge the card, We told U haul to stop doing that and to email instead of calling as we cannot answer the phone while filming, but they kept doing it on and off. Instead of emailing they kept calling for a yes or a no. Then they asked to bring the van back although we were charged regularly, because supposedly the contract had to be renewed, and then after explaining it was not convenient for us as we were still in production then they let it go, then again a week later they again harassed us to bring back the van etc.. although each time of course our card was charged...and finally the last draw was when they came while we were taking a break as we were filming to take back the van! Forcing us to empty the van, we could not even had the time to take care of it properly, to have the van washed and the gasoline filled as we always do. As that point we decided to not deal with u-haul Simi Valley anymore. The thousands dollars we are spending every year to rent van and cars for our productions will be spent with another company that is decent, fair, does not harass its customers and do not penalize them because they pay on time. If your policy is to harass people instead of making their life easy by helping them to do their job, by renewing the contract easily, especially when it is a company, then go find another job... we are making films and it is the producers who were paying for it, which means myself and my partners, what the hell is wrong with you guys? Are you so paranoid that you are afraid the people who pay you regularly every day run away with your basic van??? That was ridiculous. Your customer service (at least at this location) was horrid and caused u haul to lose a company that spends a decent amount of money in rentals.... U haul is crossed from our list. Good riddance!!!

The web tool used to complete the rental and get the keys is rather cumbersome and time consuming. Check in was far easier using the web tool.

Rented me wrong vehicle. Then they changed to correct one but not changed the paper works. So I used the fuel guide to fill the gas. Because of this incorrect information I pumped more gas than I had. When I asked for refund/credit for extra gas I pumped they denied.

Even though I know the truck goes through maintenance every month it really was rickety and noisy and shifted rough. Because it was just around town and didn't create a great problem.

The head light switch was loose and while trying to turn on the dome lite the switch pushed into the dash and then the dome light came on i had to take bulb out at the end of the nite so battery wouldn't die.... but i wasn't able to reach into the small hole into the dash and turn the lights back on so i had to drive back home with NO LIGHT'S BECAUSE I WAS MOVING AND HAD TO to BE OUT n MY CATS WERE WAITING FOR ME ON MY CURB IN CARRIERS!! so I came back to return truck super pissed off that the simi location clearly tampered with the wires since the nob wouldn't turn the dome light on and once the wire disconnected when it fell back into the dash the dam dome light came on...and these people knew the lights were an issue and instead of getting an actual mechanic to go fix it they did one janky, hella unsafe rig job themselves that coulda cost Me my life, my clean driving record etc they comped the few gallons of gas I refused to pay for but they shoulda comped my entire rental since the tine before this the truck was filthy with the exhaust pipe dragging behind the truck I gave them a good initial review of truck because I'm not a bitch and always beleive in learning and growing then repremanding or punishing and didnt want to get anyone in trouble and later when returning it I told them that I didn't want to get them in trouble but they needed to fix the rigged and filthy vehicles moving forward!!.. clearly nothing had changed and I will never go to uhaul again for my regular truck rentals cuz your one hella messed up company with messed up old broken trucks that coulda cost me my life or the lights coulda gone out at an even worse time like whilst diving on the fwy luckily I was only a few blocks away from my cats but it's the principle. Uhaul co. has billions of dollars why are your vehicles so messed up and trash garbage?! Do the employees feel they need to rig the vans themselves since your co. won't pay for the proper services and maintenance to the vehicles? Who knows!! but this is the 2nd time in 3 months I've had a worse then disgusting experiences with your co. I'm appalled by my experiences both times and I will not recommend or use your services ever again . Your a cheap, rude, horribly managed co. Bye

Didn't receive much, if any training about shifting gears or when to use ‘Tow' mode or manual shifting when driving through mountains ... Had to stop and get a lesson from a Uhaul dealer ‘Brandon' in Kingman, Arizona ( nice guy) ... You get 8 MPG with a 26 footer not 10. Overall an okay experience .. Thank You

There was quite a long period of time where I couldn't reach the staff at this location by phone. I was always transferred to another facility to take a message for them. 9 out of 10 times that I left messages I did not receive returned calls.

Rude, lazy and not willing to work staff. They all had their cars blocking my storage unit. I had to ask them for access, when not one but 3 employees leisurely took their time moving their car show vehicles as I waited a few minutes. The facility is dirty and it would make sense with 3 ppl who just take their time doing almost nothing. There was a mixup by uhaul of my pickup location and the staff were not helpful. Which all coincided with the customer service number who basically did the same thing and pushed me off to someone else to someone else. What a waste of time having me drive all over town and not be helpful. Horrible experience. If I wasn't moving and needed your services that day I would have gone elsewhere. From this point forward you lost a customer. Thanks for wasting my time. Good to see staff being paid to do absolutely zero work.
