The bed of the trailer had some residue that appeared to be oil.

edgar G.I picked up a trailer at the Cave Creek lication in Northern Arizona. The young man that hooked up the trailer didn't follow my instructions on how I wanted it connected to my RV. I have been towing for 30+ years and I didn't appreciate his inexperience. His comment "I hope you bought the insurance" was an insult and I will not rent from U-haul again.

Gina D.My initial impression of this facility was favorable. I was checked in efficiently and the promised vehicle was ready and in good shape. There were problems when I returned the vehicle, and they were clearly caused by U-Haul. I would strongly recommend that staff stress to renters the importance of detailed completion of the online assessment of the vehicle. When I left with the vehicle (as I have done with multiple previous U-Haul rentals over the year) I had with me completed paperwork marking the level of gas in the tank, etc. The facility manager noted that I needed to bring the vehicle back 1/2 full of gas as that was the level in the tank as I was leaving. I quickly completed the online assessment and provided photos of the mileage and of some rock damage on the windshield. When I returned the vehicle with exactly the number of estimated miles and with the tank 1/2 full I was informed by the technician checking in the vehicle that I needed to fill the tank to 7/8 because that was what was in the system or I was going to be charged $71! No amount of explanation was able to overcome the technician's response of "Hey, that's what we have in the system. There's nothing I can do about it." Fortunately, the employee who had checked me out was available and I had my paperwork upon which the manager had marked a tank level at 1/2. That employee was able to make a correction in the system. Why the other employee couldn't do this I do not know. The employee who made the correction advised that the problem occurred when I completed the online assessment and that somehow I had indicated that the tank was 7/8 full. (I did no such thing.) Look, I can handle myself online and know what to expect next time. Not everyone will be able to complete an online forensic documentation of vehicle status - are they at the mercy of inadvertent system glitches which will add fraudulent costs to their rentals? This is not acceptable.

I had to wait for a cab to take me home after returning my vehicle and it was a lengthy wait time. They allowed me to stay indoors rather than wait outside in the triple digit Phoenix, AZ! It was a great time to catch up and chat! Steve -manager- has a terrific team that consistently look out for customers. I've had nothing but great experiences from every transaction with the team at this branch who I believe deserves recognition. Keep up the good work guys!
