My worst U-Haul experience ever, and I've had a few. I arrived at this facility with a truck and a reservation for a storage unit. Even though there was still 30-mins before the official closing time, the staff seemed more interested in closing shop and going home than completing my reservation and getting me access to the unit. This was finally done, but they then discovered that they had no lock to issue me. They were all out. Finally, a spare lock was found, and I was given an access card and directions to the off-site storage facility. I arrived there and used the card to gain entry to the loading dock. I was unable to get the dock sliding door to raise so that I could unload the truck. After repeated attempts, I tried a second door. Same result, the door refused to raise. It then appeared the the facility was going into lock down due to operating hours restrictions. I decided to leave the facility and wait until morning to unload the truck. I returned at 8:00am the next morning, only to find the same problem existed with the dock doors. I called the office and was asked if it was ok to be placed on a brief hold. 20-minutes later, I hung up and called again. This time my call was routed to a headquarters office. I explained my plight to the agent, who then asked me to hold while so called the store manager. She returned shortly and advised that she too was unable to get through. I was placed on hold gain. This time she returned to tell me the manager was coming to the facility to investigate. The manager finally arrived, and we figured out that only 2 of the four dock doors were functional. We moved our truck to one of the working doors and finally got our truck unloaded. I was now ready to return the truck. I drove to the truck rental return area. I exited from the truck and looked around and at first saw no one. Then I spot an agent exiting a return area garage, with his head down, apparently texting on his phone. Never once did he look up or acknowledge me until I spoke to him. He never asked me anything and only spoke when I asked questions about the rental return process. I was finally reasonably sure that the truck would be properly checked in and my receipt would be emailed. There was even more to this saga that I'm excluding, but you get the idea of how frustrating this ordeal was for me. I will never, under any circumstances use this facility again. Not for truck rental and certainly not for storage rental. It is a total and complete failure at customer service.

Made requests for me to send proof driving there and taking pictures of an empty storage then sending it to them after calling and informing them. Once I showed up they informed me the person I needed to speak to wasn't there and that they couldn't help me. I moved into an empty 10x10 outside unit as I did have a reservation. When I called U-Haul and was given a 30 min call back, it took 6 hours to receive a call back. When I finally was able to identify and call the controlling U-Haul facility for this self store facility, the staff told me I had to move out and physically come to the office to get a storage assignment. After I refused to move out a house full of stuff, I was able to talk with the manager (Justin Smith). He was very helpful and was able to do the contract over the phone for the unit I had moved into. Thank you Justin. I have since moved out and was able to clear the unit over the phone. I live over an hour away. U haul should be able to assign a specific unit and include that as part of the contract, especially when it is an unmanned self store facility

Please they took 2 weeks of rent for us moving out early. Never had that happen at a uhaul storage before. That happy at all about that after all the mix up that we had to deal with moving in the unit and out of the unit... This uhaul needs to be retrained on what they are doing and on customer service!! WE WILL NOT be using this uhaul in the future for anything and also letting our friends know how we were treated. Do better uhaul. Already called the service department.

My oldest daughter was to come and get the rest, which was her belongings, and leave for college. She said the unit was empty and she was the one who actually turned key in.. so to my knowledge unit was empty, but was still being charged and getting mutiple emails, texts, and calls.. after calling and going to location mutiple times and told anyone I spoke the same thing, as I stated above, but was told the same thing, would go to unit and verify then someone would get back to me, but no one ever did. So I got tired of trying to do the right thing to continue to reach out, and I said the heck with it. Yall dont care.. I dont care. Do what you got to do. Im done trying. Im sure the Area manager will see this comment, I just hope you will acutually take action to see to it that this doesnt happen again.

It landed on some original art on canvas but I think that I can sweep or clean it off. The dust from the ceiling pieces was in the air (near my face) when I was pushing the cart and moving the art out of storage. Someone should check on it. I hope and pray that it does not have asbestos in the ceiling material.

Went from outside storage to inside storage and the front unloading dock was precarious to use with 26 foot u-haul. Getting to rear of facility is precarious due to narrow road and water run-off drain right at entrance. Narrow road needs to be widened and entrance made for easier access for large trucks and drivers with little experience.

Helped me reserve, rent truck and also work out the rental storage building. I will ask for him every time I rent! He needs to be promoted or at least a raise, cannot overstate his friendliness and helpfulness even when store was busy. The storage room itself had not been cleaned when we arrived but we had to put things in it. Hallway too narrow for us to storage our daughters couch so had to take it home, that was frustrating. Who ever rented the room before us left some kind of fruit on ground that had completely melted and we had to clean up the sticky thick mess ourselves. It was nasty and no way someone could have missed it if they had cleaned! That was not Joshua fault but even so, he apologized for the issue.

Lastly, when I moved out of the unit, took my card back to the facility and checked out, I received a delinquent notice via email that I had not paid my storage fee. I attempted to call U-Haul at 1560 W. Gate City Blvd and could never get anyone to answer. I had to make another trip to the location to get the matter cleared up. Apparently, someone didn't "clear" me from the unit as promised. Don't mean to beat anyone up, but the folks at 1560 W. Gate City Blvd in Greensboro, could use some customer service training. Thanks! I reserved a $40 unit in anticipation that it would be a busy time of season for U-Haul storage in Greensboro. I took all the necessary precautions and when I arrived to check in the $40 unit that I had reserved four months prior was no longer available. I was told that I could rent another unit that cost $79 a month which I disputed because if it was the negligence of U-Haul then I should've been given that $79 unit for $40. Instead I was sent to another location a few blocks away and still had to pay additional storage fees in the amount of $69 a month instead of the $40 that I reserved for. I spoke to the manager Justin Smith and Clifton dancy the companies president and he Informed me that because of the system he could not honor the $40 rate for a higher storage unit. I was highly disturbed and upset that's such an era could happen. I would like to have the 3 to 4 months of storage at the original rate that I'm booked for which was $40.

This has been my worst U-Haul experience by far. I drove to my storage unit and surprise surprise the floor was covered with mice droppings, obviously there's no pest control as I didn't even find the typical mouse bait box that usually you can see in your unit when you move in. The floor of my unit was wet and I'm concerned that if it rains, my stuff will get ruined. I'm having to go purchase a tarp to cover my stuff to avoid it getting ruined from rain. To have a temperature controlled unit, it was very hot and humid in there. The storage unit was very poor quality and I would in no circumstance recommend their indoor units at least until that issue is fixed.
