UHAUL changed every single part of this order, at every step of the journey. At the outset, when I didn't answer my phone for 15 minutes, they attempted to change my appointment a full week, when I would no longer have a home in the state where my things were being picked up. When I called the next day to schedule my pick-up in Seattle, they were shocked when I told them that I had been pressured into a <24-hour load-up, as that wasn't actually necessary. Then, when scheduling a delivery in Philadelphia, every single call I made to the number UHAUL provided, I was forwarded to North Jersey, who point-blank told me "Philadelphia doesn't pick up after 4pm, I don't know why." When I attempted to schedule my pick-up, I had to make a phone payment and the UHAUL rep (despite me giving the full number of my correct credit card) charged the wrong account, therefore leaving me out thousands of extra dollars temporarily. When I checked my bank statement, the refund was for $100 less than was originally charged. After a week of phonecalls, a representative FINALLY refunded me all the money I deserved. Every single step of this process was fraught. The only reason I chose UHAUL for this was cost, and the fact that comparable services are not centralized. UHAUL was disorganized, incompetent, and unresponsive, repeatedly trying to blame me for their own scheduling challenges when I booked my dates weeks in advance. I hope to never have to utilize UHAUL's services ever again. It was a miserable experience from start to finish.Connor D.
Unbelievably bad customer service. Waited 45 minutes to get access to a truck that had been reserved online. Agents were slow to begin with but then one excused herself to walk her dog (I am not joking). After getting keys to truck, I couldn't leave because the truck was blocked by another vehicle so I had to go back to the office. The gas gauge indicated only 50 miles of fuel remaining so I had to get gas at the nearby station. Total incompetent customer service.Dale S.

Check in process is EXTREMELY slow. Seems understaffed. The employees seem understanding about it, but this is terrible! I have used this location several times, and the quality seems to have dropped. This is the first time I got a dirty truck. Last time the truck was blocked in by other trucks so I had to wait in a very slow line then, too. On the positive side, the check out process was easy. There is one employee who is often at check who seems really on top of things. I like her!Nolita R.

The lady that hooked up the auto transport i rented didn't. tighten the hitch to the ball. when the car was being loaded to the transport the trailer lifted and launched forward hitting the back of my hatch. there was also a person standing near it imagine if that fell on a person. lastly we drove to the location with out the hitch secured to our vehicle. who knows what could have happened if it detached on a big bump. Where do I start. The first location told me that the truck I reserved was going to be given to someone else. Then when they found me a new location to get the truck size I reserved, the truck was in bad shape. Dashboard parts falling off, sun visors broken, massive rips in the side of the truck body. Obviously the money we spend to rent the trucks does not go back into fixing parts that don't directly affect the operation. However, it makes the truck seem unsafe and dangerous. very dissatisfied customerGregory S.
The truck did not have a key fob to unlock the doors. This is complicated because the passenger door also does not have an external lock, so you have to go around to the driver's side door to unlock the passenger door. Additionally, the truck smelled like cigarette smoke.jeremy W.

Please inspect your equipment before giving it to customers. I had a tow dolly with two bad tires. Uhaul ended up having to get me a hotel and upgraded car transport. But I am very happy with customer service across the countryMICHAEL R.
Though this is a new facility with an obviously new staff the store runs quite well and the employees always have assigned tasks to work on (as opposed to phone videos some employees do in other locations). Jenny runs a tight ship and not only her self but her employees have been right on top of any concerns we had while renting there. Uhaul was excellent on both ends. Pickup in NC and delivery in WA. Storage was great, as was access. My complaint is dealing with the website. I will NEVER deal with your website, and only do it again if there is a person to deal with, not a computer. Nothing was posted, your website is all over the place, nothing is explained clearly, and when there are problems, uhaul has the absolute worse phone system and operators. I have countless complaints, and would never use, or recommend your website again. The price was good because of only needing one box shipped, anything larger and I would use a different carrier.James C.
I moved from Dallas to Seattle. The ubox shipment was delayed by 9 days.I had to be on customer support calls for over 6 hours for this entire move. The process is not really straight forward. There was no update for my shopping progress , container storage or pickup details on my U-Haul account online. I had to call in to get details every single time, the support staff were helpful but they also had to investigate to get an update. My container arrived in good condition, but the hassle I had to go through and with the 9 days delay I would not be using the ubox service again or recommend anyone to use it unless it's the only option they got.Dev K.

We had a terrible experience with U-haul. Our reserved truck was somehow "given away" in Rainer Valley. Then the next truck "waiting for us" in Tukwila never drove up. Finally, we were told to drive to Tacoma to "hopefully" get a truck. Nearly four hours after our SCHEDULED time, we left in a van and had to make more trips to Woodinville to make up for time and less storage space. It was a very stressful, frustrating day, especially for our daughter who was moving into her first appartment. The woman who helped us in Tukwila did a great job but even she couldn't believe the mess that happened.Tim C.
I made a reservation for 9/4 at 10am. After waiting in line for 30-40 minutes and going through the rental process, I was told that there was no pickup truck available - apparently the local head of operations had borrowed it. I was told to come back at 1:30pm. I ended up doing this because I had no choice, but this wasted several hours of my time and the local employees were not able to give a discount or otherwise try to make it up to me.Matthew Y.

The check in was EXTREMELY slow. I just needed keys and each customer took a VERY long time. The van had to be accessed via the passenger side because a UHaul pickup was parked so close the driver's side was inaccessible. Honestly, it was the worst experience I've had with a moving company. We had multiple employees tell us they couldn't help us because they were "off the clock". It was a complete #$&@ show between the rental office and the ubox operation down the street. Completely unprofessional service, employees got ving us wrong information and systems not responding. If you are from UHaul reviewing this message, please know that I will never use UHaul services again after my experience with TUKWILA. Employees couldn't care less about your customers and they seemed incredibly frustrated by your "slow and unresponsive systems" (your employees words not ours). Horrible horrible horrible experience. Online app for downloading photos for condition of vechule leaving the facility wasn't working. Staff on location was of no help. The truck was great and easy to drive. The employee that was on location when dropping off the vehicle was super friendly and working extremely hard in under staffed conditions.Sheryl A.
The truck was given to me with 1/4 tank of gas. I picked it up near the closing time on Friday August 26. The next morning while filling up the tank at Costco the attendant told me I was spilling fuel. It turns out that the fuel tank had holes drilled in it by someone trying to siphon gas. This delayed my move by at least six hours as I had to wait for 80 minutes before being able to talk with someone from roadside assistance. This meant that I had to get another truck and mive the contents from one truck to another. I recommend U-Haul provide trucks with a full tank to eliminate the customer from having to deal with this and also not have to spend time filling up the tank.Joseph M.

Have all information easily accessible on the website. I was completely unaware of the self delivery or moving company delivery options and had to scramble to change my plans at the last minute upon realizing the city permits would cost over $500. Also, I was under the impression that the initial delivery fee covered delivery on both ends, which wasn't true. Finally, if a call gets disconnected, have a system in place to call customers back. This happened 3 times to me and I spent a total of probably 6 hours waiting on hold for various questions to be answered since I found nothing on the website.Jack L.

Multiple times I was on the phone trying to confirm if they were going to ship my box to the Rainer Valley location. But no one could give me a definitive answer. And could never actually reach the Rainier Valley Location because they said they are understaffed. I can understand that they are understaffed but why could then someone explain that to me if that really was the reason instead of me still hoping that my u-box would get there until the day before. If I had gotten a definitive answer weeks ago when I called then I would have been able to move on and figure something else out instead of doing a last-minute plan. Also, I wouldn't have been calling them all the time. I think it is an issue of training on the u-box system and wrong auto-calling redirecting because multiple people either told me they don't have experience in U-boxes or this is the wrong office to speak with.Katie A.

Called your Renton Highlands location first. They helped me set a reservation. The Duwamish location was very professional and helpful. Did the hookup in good time. A good experience all around.keith T.
Tamarek helped me, and he was not helpful. He gave me no information about looking over the truck for damages before I drove it off the lot; the only way I knew to do this was I heard another employee helping the people in front of me. He had a very apathetic attitude and gave the impression that he did not care, making us wait while he sauntered around the back of the store and around the building while there was a line of customers in the office trying to check out. The truck was extremely dirty with many bugs and lots of dirt on the windshield, and the bed of the truck even had dirty band-aids on the floor (disgusting!). I was also double charged for the blankets, which I'll need to call to get fixed.Noah L.

It's hard to describe how absolutely AWFUL every person I encountered at this location was (both front desk and warehouse) as well as how awful my experience was. I truly don't think I've ever had a worse experience with customer service in my life. Before coming to this location I would recommend uhaul to anyone, but after this experience I will actively evangelize for your competitors and NEVER recommend or use your services again. I will go out of my way for the rest of my life to make sure as many people I know do not use your company's services- even if it costs me time or money. I was repeatedly sent to over 10 people because the people I did happen to find in the marked areas (which were few and far between) â€œdidn't support that.â€ Unfortunately everyone I was sent to- sent me to another person making some spend over 3,5 hours for a simple transaction during the whole day. Not to mention the customer service desk helpers continued to talk me as if I was a preschooler and condescend in a negative tone with rude pauses and terminology- repeatedly calling me passive aggressive names. I felt completely disrespected. I've heard horror stories of this specific uhaul faction but never did I think it would actually be so awful. I waited hours to be helped, had to drive all around the site to get the help that I ordered. Nothing was ready ad promised; even after calling to confirm accessibility with our truck and pod and being reassured they'd both be ready (truck ready and ubox on a trailer) they were not. I had to beg for help to get my box and wait over an hour for it to be put on a trailer. It was not ready on a trailer as promised because everyone decided to attend a midday barbecue in the parking lot- leaving no one to attend the MANY customers lined up. I can't explain my disappointment and dissatisfaction with this awful company. Again- I promise to actively evangelize against anyone of the hundreds of moving people I know, to use this terrible company. At the end of the day I had to ask a third party truck driver for help on this, who was a magnificent person providing guidance. Since starting this moving-of-stuff journey in May, the accounting on uhaul.com is VERY confusing which prompted multiple calls to the 1-800 # as well as local facilities. The orders listed on the website have conflicting information and lists multiple/varying charges for the same box/service. It all turned out ok, but trying to track & reconcile the account online is very frustrating. Every U-Haul staff member I've spoken to/worked with has been outstanding and very helpful. The user account on website needs an overhaul.joy D.

My Ubox was supposed to have arrived on 8/4 at the Raineir location and we were told we would have access on 8/10. When I called on 8/5 the box was no where to be found. It had been delivered to Tukwila and no one notified us that it was at a different location or that it had even arrived. I found out the Ubox had arrived because I received a storage invoice. I scheduled the pick up with Moving Help on 8/10 and U-haul confirmed via email that the Ubox would be at Raineir on 8/11. Also on 8/10 the company I had hired through Moving Help notified that they would not be servicing us, I'm guessing because they knew the hassle Rainier was going to put them through. I immediately hired Hands OFF Luxury Moving Service through Moving Help.. On 8/12 when Hands OFF went to pick up the box it couldn't be found and were told that it was "in the back" and they couldn't release it, to come back on 8/13. On 8/13 when Hands OFF tried to pick up Raineir made them wait over 2 hours and proceeded to load the box backwards on the trailer making it almost impossible to get inside the box. Hands OFF was incredibly helpful and patient with U-Haul but no one should have to jump through all the hoops Raineir made them do. I will be referring Hands OFF every chance I get, but definitely not U-Haul's Raineir location. I was very disappointed with the service provided and don't feel the price I paid was fair considering all the headaches, rudeness and hours spent on the phone trying to sort out the mess they created. To add insult to injury, Raineir had the audacity to bill me for storage from 8/15-9/15 when the box was picked up on 8/13. It took over 1,5 hours to get that sorted out.raquel G.

The Tulwila site was great but I would never recommend the Renton site though. My rental mistakingly was made in Tukwila on the Renton ESL. The asst manager at Renton called me a day later saying I need to return the trailer to them. I explained I picked up and dropped off at Tukwila. She then informed me without any regard that she will report the trailer as stolen. Tulwila took care of the mix up like a business that wants my future business. They will get it!DScott R.

They run on a skeleton crew and complain about it. One lady had her phone keep going off durning our check in process and kept answering it and took care of her phone before customers. Also if we use the dumpster for example throwing away a garbage bag (just 1) it's $100 no matter what even though we pay for storage each month.Alexis A. | Premières impressions

The online move-in process would be convenient if it didn't require the extremely long waits on your first visit. The unit, building, location, security system, and the staff are great. The amount of time to access my unit was awful. I filled everything out online so that it would be a quick move in. I waited in line for about an hour before I could use my unit. It took me longer to get my access than it did to unload my stuff, move it to my storage unit, tetris it in my storage unit, got back to the front desk because the lock wasn't in the unit as stated, get the lock, walk back to my unit, finish unloading, and lock the unit. All of that took less time than the wait to just get access to my unit. The three different staff members I interacted with were great. If they didn't have the needed knowledge, they quickly tapped someone that did, answered my questions, and resolved my issues. The fact that they were understaffed and had to continue to deal with people that were hot and tired after waiting in line for over an hour, makes me not want to support the company any longer. A friend rented a truck from the same location earlier this week. It took him three hours to get a truck, it wasn't the size he reserved, and he had to go to another location to get it. Again, the staff were great. Management (at the level that is accountable for staffing) needs to be trained or replaced as every person I spoke with at the location had a negative experience due to the lack of available customer service.Pascual C. | Online Move In

The access hours being restricted to office hours is going to become an issue when I start working and may need to change facilities. This should be communicated online, not something I'm not aware of until I show up after 7PM to access my belongings. The employees were nice enough to explain the reasoning behind the decision, it's just extremely inconvenient as I just moved here and am now restricted to business hours for unloading a truck with a time limit imposed by U-Haul. I set my account up online. But then they wanted to charge me and it was supposed to be free for the first month. So I called and the guy told me to just go to the office. So I did. And at the end of the meeting she said I didn't set it up o line, yet she didn't have to ask me any info because it was already set up online. She refused to give me my free lock because she said I didn't set it up online. I did. And also she said that the hours I could access my unit was only until 700pm, but the guy online said 10pm, and there were still people there after 700 so I don't get it. And I work till 5pm that's hardly time to get home and get to my storage. I have a 10ft uhaul truck in NY drive way and I need to empty it but there isn't enough time. Mostly everyone was kind and friendly and helpful. I didn't have confidence in the skills of Jessie, mostly because he didn't seem to know too much himself and needed lots of assistance. While I don't mind training someone, it took longer than normal to check in. I had an immense amount of patience but that patience wasn't returned when I was using the stalls to unload my truck and they needed to go home. It seemed my time was not as valuable as their time. There should be a way to lock the facility to allow the customer to completely use the stall and have it lock behind them. Interestingly, the same 2 individuals that took a tremendous amount of time at check in were the ones demanding that we move out of the stalls. Additionally, dogs should not be brought to work. It's unprofessional. The truck check out was much smoother, likely because it was handled by the manager, and there's another younger lady working there that seemed pretty efficient.Youngmee M. | Premières impressions

The people I've dealt with at this location, from inside the offices who I spoke with on the phone, to the people I spoke with at the counter, to the people I dropped my rental truck and trailer off with, were all a pleasure to deal with, kind beyond necessity, and made my experience with this location all top notch.
