I walked in to rent a trailer, I was told â€œthere are none availableâ€ and the guy didn't want to take the time to explain. We were told we would have to call the reservations phone line to get a one-way trip trailer booked. Out of frustration I ended up walking out to my truck and making a reservation online. Jonathan (Johnny) is an exemplary employee. I had three units at your facility and the first time I dealt with Jonathan and each subsequent time I hoped I would be able to deal with him. I arrived at the storage facility with a trailer after having driven 2 000 miles from Northern Michigan. I was tired and Jonathan took care of me and even stayed past 7pm to ensure I had unloaded my cargo and unhitched the trailer. He deserves a raise and extra paid vacation days. No communication and it took months and multiple appointments to get the job donedavid H.
furniture pads took up room I could have used for boxes but they said I had to have them. When I ordered the Uboxes they let me pick the delivery day and pick up day, they said nothing about the dates changing. I had it figured with the person on the phone to be dropped off the June25th approx. two weeks at Lyle, Wa. address picked up the 18th (I asked for the 8th but they could do it) then delivered to Spokane in 3 days and i planned to unload before 30 days ended. What happened is I paid workers to fill Uboxes starting the 25th but they were delivered 29th so I had to pay extra to the workers(they had other jobs scheduled) to get it done by the 18th as that was the scheduled pick up date. U-Haul pickup the boxes but instead of delivering them to Spokane they took them to Vancouver, WA another 150 miles farther west. Then they held them there until they delivered the 29th. so U-Haul hold the boxes 11 more days before delivering them. Then charges me another months rent. My helpers are not available at the later date so I am trying to unload by myself. I call to complain in and the U-Haul person gives me until the 9th with no charges in Sept. I manage to get boxes unloaded by the 3rd but when I went to pay my mortgage U-Haul had took out another months charge in Sept. I called up Sprague address told them they were ready for pick up Sept 3.And that I had been charged for Sept which she had said I wouldn't, she said she would send a note to division St U-Haul to reimburse me. They waited and picked them up the 9th, I was only partially reimbursed for Sept. then I get online and reread your guarantee. It said U-Haul will pay $50 a day per unit if there is delay in delivery. Well you delayed in delivering them to my home in Lyle, WA, 5 days put off pick them up for another week then delayed in delivering them to my home Spokane, Wa. 11 days and you are charging me rent the whole time you are holding. I used your service because I am keeping up with two severely disabled adults and my 82 yr old mother. I needed help. So are you going to hold good on your guarantee $50 a day per unit for delaying?Brenda C.

The covering for my U-Box was installed incorrectly after my movers filled it. When my movers claimed my box at my final destination, it was forklifted onto the trailer based upon what appeared to be the front vs. the back end. My movers arrived at my new home with my box, but when we attempted to unlock it, we discovered that the cover was backwards meaning that the back end of my box was at the rear of the trailer while the locked door was up by the trailer hitch. This required my movers to return to the Uhaul location, get the box and cover corrected, then drive back to my home for unloading. A lot of wasted time and effort due to a mistake made at the beginning of my move.Peggy D.

The desk clerk, Isaiah, was absolutely AHHHMAZZZBALLS. I was on a bit of a time crunch and working off of two hours of sleep within the last 24 hours from moving a 5 bedroom house to 4 different locations solo and had only about 30 minutes left of my truck rental to load up the little remnants i had into a storage unit. He was lighting fast without even passing up the important disclaimers and regulations and even assigned the most convenient unit for me to unload to. I broke down trying to figure out how to get the latching mechanism to close and the woman working at the units ( I wish I could remember her name, but I didn't make a mental note of it through the panic) was calm and helpful. She assisted me through it with enough time to get back to the truck check in on time. I will honestly continue to use this facility for all of my moving needs (which is absurdly often) thanks to the delightful and understanding staff.Samantha M. | Premières impressions

Picking up the truck using the app was ridiculous. It took two hours to find out the location I was originally at could not help me. I finally called somebody on the one 800 number and had to drive to the other side of town to pick up the right truck. This ended up costing me extra miles that I did not originally anticipate. I have used the Hazel Dell location for more than 30 years. The equipment and trucks have always worked well for me, and I have noticed in the last 15 years the emphasis to moving to newer equipment. The trucks (especially the diesels) are not quiet on the highway for long moves, but they keep them aligned with balanced wheels, so the ride is as smooth as one can expect. I've never had slow or incompetent service from the staff, even when they're obviously slammed. Having some background in retail myself, I think it is a testament to local management that everyone has a shared vision and is motivated to provide service with a consistently good attitude. I hope everyone there is paid superbly.David B.

I had every possible issue with you guys. When I first open my unit you made an error and my key didn't work, your guises system had a glitch in auto pay stopped working and you charged me a late fee, I made a reservation to downsize from one unit to another and the call center put my name incorrectly and got the wrong storage unit and then when I had to move there was no available unit that I could use so I literally had to go to a different storage facility. There were so many issues with just the bookkeeping and being at the unit the alarms will go off all the time even though I checked in and it was so loud and so ridiculous and so many times that I would never go there again simply for that reason. I would say it was an overall horrible experience and not worth the money but they had 24 hour access which is why I originally wanted to use that facility. They were a bunch of sketchy characters there at night though so it really wasn't that safe and people kept asking to get in or to use the restroom so I didn't feel safe when I was there at night. The day I finally moved out and went to a different storage facility they were two tweakers outside screaming at each other and punching the windows and throwing their stuff all over the place and my toddler had to get rushed into the vehicle so that we could get out of there as quickly as possible because they were literally fighting in the parking lot and I couldn't help but think well this is how it always goes here so what's new?TIMOTHY L. | Expérience générale

They should lower rates on that particular unit. As far as security once your in facility there's no alarm system that let anyone know that a storage unit opened up without particular authorisation. The people I interacted with were great. The hours were not as advertised. Online says 5am to 10. That's a joke. I couldn't get access to the building when I wanted. I would come before 8 on a weekend, locked. At 7 on a Sunday, already locked. The inside of the building was fine. The outside is a dump. People just leave stuff wherever and nobody picks up. Food and trash in the parking area constantly. The "free" area might as well be a dumpster. There were only a handful of parking spaces in front of the building. The U-box's were constantly in at least two if not more. I had two issues with my autopayment go through in the year I rented here. The first was annoying. The second was ridiculous, they couldn't even tell me why it was denied. And despite it being less than a week from the due date I had a $35 late charge (luckily waived by the great customer service) and denied access to my unit which had to be removed. Seems like there should have been some more courtesy warning and "failure to pay in X days will result in lock-out". The location was convenient and the staff nice, otherwise this would a 1-star.Christopher W. | Expérience générale
