The parking lot before you go into the building is rough. When I tried to wheel the dolly with my stuff across to the front door, it will almost fell off because the parking lot was so rough. That's my only issue. Everything else has been great!

The problem was the incomptence of the billing system, the lady in charge of billing storage units, and management of the Huntington storage facility. I rented two storage bins. I accidently paid two months for one storage bin. I had desired to pay one month for two bins. The payment for the two months for one bin was cancelled. When I went back to pay one month for the bin (for which I had paid two months), the psyment system kept saying I had not paid the full amount due (somehow the two month accidental payment made the system think the 2 month amount was due). My wife and I began to get a ton of overdue notices. I must have called in ten times to explain the situation including a few times switched over to storage billing lady. Each time I was told the situation would be fixed but it never was. Eventually the billing lady must have forgot about all these calls and a lock was put on the unit. I called to address this. The lock remained on the bin. It got down to the day before expensive movers were coming to get my stuff. I was told the manager was off duty that Friday and I would have to wait until the day of the move (Saturday) for the lock to come off. The lock only came off after I called UHaul customer service. You have a very nice facility and friendly people at the desk in Huntington. It is a shame ur computer system, billing lady, and management of storage faciity are so incomptetent and prevent me from recommending the facility to others.

Recently had unit at Public Storage on Royal Lane, Dallas, Texas. They make it mandatory for insurance and I paid for lock. It was surprising to find out UHaul does so much more for customers. Today the lady who does cleaning in storage facility and helps customers explained to me I had not been placing lock correctly and leaving unit unlocked. The move into storage was quick and convenient, from out of state and a moving company that delivered our belongings. Moving out of storage came this weekend. The U-Haul truck that we rented had roaches that we had to kill even before we loaded our storage. Once we moved out of storage and turned the truck back in, that all went well. Once we moved our storage into our house and started unpacking, we noticed more roaches. We think we brought them home from the storage unit. I suggest if you don't already do it, is to bomb the U-Haul trucks and storage unit after each rental and that should help solve the problem. Sincerely, Concerned Customer

One morning in particular, I was about an hour late for work due to the exit gate not opening up. I had to wait for for about 45 mins until Travis arrived to let me out. Calling the number listed at the storage unit door was useless. Just a terrible morning overall. Also on June 26 my payment renewed as expected. I paid it and moved out on July 4th. It was earliest that I could do it. I expected to get a partial refund on my June 26 payment due to only using it for 8 days. That was not the case. U-Haul kept the entire amount ($141,65) for 8 days of use. This was after over a year of on time payments from me and no complaints despite having some issues. This really soured the experience for me and would be the main reason why I will look elsewhere for storage unit needs if I ever need one again in the Huntington area.

When I called to complain they already knew that they had roaches but failed to inform me of the problem. They pretty much told me there was nothing they could do to.

carrie starkey | Premières impressionsI was quoted a price for a 5x5 unit, only one available, it was mine if I got there to secure it before 7:00 pm. When I arrived at 6:30 pm, to secure that unit, I was then told they didn't have a 5x5 available. So I was given a 5x10 unit for the 5x5 price, printed out confirmation and everything. And the problems began. I paid, a day early, for my unit -- the 5x5 price. I was constantly bombarded by emails and postal mail that I had a balance due (the remainder of the 5x10 price). Then, I had my access denied and my unit was double locked for non payment and an email that my belongings may be sold due to non-payment. All along the way, I made many, many trips to the main store to get everything straightened out. Spoke with multiple employees, and the manager several times. After finally gaining an apology from the manager, and finally gaining access to my unit, I just simply moved everything out and vacated the unit. WHAT A GIGANTIC HASSLE!!!
Rebecca Morrone | Expérience généraleI'd asked for space to fit 3 rooms on bottom floor. My first month was free. However, the unit did not even hold 1 room, AND they charged me for the free month. I had to call repeatedly to get my money back. The halls are narrow so it makes it hard to maneuver furniture around corners. Also the carts only hold very narrow mattresses, nothing with a plush top. The design of the building is "maze" like. So LOTS of turns to get to and from your unit; makes it tough to get furniture moved in a timely manner.

I was denied access to the building. The system said it was closed even though I still had an hour left according to the U-Haul app. I tried calling the after hours number and was sent to voicemail. Called customer service and they couldn't do anything to help me. Because of this I was stuck with a U-Haul loaded down with my stuff that I had to return with the next day in the rain to unload with no help.

They clearly were not coming to the storage area. Other that that, great experience.

During move in doors to indoor storage because unusable and would show message "denied" if access card was swiped to try to enter leaving my storage open overnight and GM who's number was available on card scanners would not answer phone even though it was labeled as an "after hours help". Gates to storage facility also showed message "denied" leaving me unable to leave with neither my uhaul truck nor my personal vehicle. Called police to see if they could get anyone to let me out. After several attempts at all numbers they (police) had an no answers from anyone finally had to send the fire department to the facility to remove pins from gate to get it open to remove the vehicles inside.

I can specifically say that the woman who manages the actual storage facility is a complete joke, the first day I saw her she didn't introduce yourself and was watching me down the hallway then when I left she came by sorry taking pictures of my stuff when I got back and caught her she quickly went away and apologized she then later accuse me of breaking the front door. The front door itself is a reason not to come to this place let alone that when it breaks like it does every single time in there she accuses people were close by and acts like it never happens, and is a very unusual phenomenon. The only redeeming factor is Travis the guy that actually cares and will resolve an issue with respect and professional customer service. I cannot wait to fill out the survey for the next storage facility though which made this facility look like heaven.

Denise Boudreau | Expérience généraleI was told there was a discount for military and also for moving into a unit before the building was complete, there was not, so I was given a free month, which was no issue for me. I was assigned a unit and bought a lock. The employee asked if I would like to set up payments with the card on file. I said yes. About a month later I was at the storage unit and had to call in because they updated the access codes without contacting me. At that time they allowed me to set my own access code. That was the only thing they talked to me about on the phone. I just noticed an email from uhaul in my email the other day that said there was a late fee and a $50 lien put on my account. I went into the store. They had not updated my address even though I had given them my new address and they had made a copy of my drivers license. They did not set up automatic payment although they'd asked if that's what I wanted, and apparently they only had a card on file for the rental side and not the storage side, which as a customer I am unsure how I would be aware they are two different systems. I paid my past due amount and was told I had to pay the $50 dollar lien even though I had clearly communicated that I was under the impression the money was coming out monthly. I could not recommend u-haul any less as a storage option, and the lack of empathy/ sympathy/ training/ understanding of job duties are clearly evident at this location.
