I watched John the store GM berate a middle aged female customer because she was asking questions while he was typing. He evaentually cut her off, cancelled her reservation right there, and said repeatedly he had “no equipment for her†“next customerâ€. She was completely innocent, just anxious. Terrible. The guy who welcomed my van return was excellent.
Craig C.I was overcharged, and while disputing the charges with the employee at the desk another employee closed out the contract. I was told I would have to come back the next day to talk to the manager, I haven't gone back yet I've been too busy.
Craig C.Please get rid of the afterhours drop off process. It is really a trouble. I had to do it three times to get it done. Either make it easy for the customers to get through that process or find a different one. It was really annoying to do three times the entire process at 2 AM in the midnight.

Marc J.The u-haul I rented was not checked in properly before I rented it because there was a customer-provided lock still latched onto the storage door. I didn't notice it because it was so small, but I did notice once I drove 40 minutes away to my destination and tried to open the back. By this time it was 5 minutes until the u-haul location I got the truck from was closing and when calling them, all they had to offer me was to tell me to use a screwdriver to break the lock â€" problem is I didn't have anything on me because I was not at my home and the person I was picking up stuff from was moving so their stuff was packed. I asked for roadside assistance and they told me they wouldn't do that for “just a little lock.†I had to go knocking on neighbors' doors until finally I gave up and drove to the police station where I had to explain the situation and allow them fo use bolt cutters. This all took an extra 45 minutes as well as gas money and mileage charges. I was left with no assistance and instead had to pay extra for their mistakes.

Jeff S.Two of the workers at this location lacked incredible self-awareness and professionalism. I watched as they treated not only myself, but other very CALM customers with agitation and aggression that was incredibly inappropriate. One yelled "I don't respond to demands!" to which I was confused and replied in my same calm voice "I didn't make a demand? I was told to ask you for a different trailer because the one I was given doesn't work." And then he said, "oh". It's like they were assuming any customer that walked in was going to be irrational and angry, so they are already operating a high level of stress/anxiousness/aggression the minute a customer arrives. I suggest management goes to this location posing as a customer to see what I am talking about. I have never seen something like this before. Separately, the trailer I was originally given had blinkers that didn't work. The first guy said it had to be outsourced to be fixed, then finally the other guy fixed it. Picking up a single trailer which I had reserved ahead of time took nearly 1 hour. The entire fiasco made my moving experience 100x more stressful. I will NEVER pick up anything from this location, if I even have to use uhaul again.

Lucas S.The person that helped me was really nice but my uhaul experience was absolutely horrible. I've used uhaul exclusively for all of my moves and this had to be the worst experience of them all. Every time I've used uhaul I never had any issues but this time my 1. First location to pick up was in Kenmore, about 30 minutes north of my preferred location 2. Reservation was CANCELLED by a uhaul representative the night before I was supposed to pick it up because “the kenmore location had no availability and customer needed a new truckâ€. NO ONE told me this, tried to call me, etc. i just received an email that my reservation was cancelled. 3. I ended up paying more than I was going to originally because of this 4. I was told I had the truck for two days for this first reservation that was cancelled, and then was given only one day from the Seattle location and when I called to request additional time, the service rep had the WORST attitude and told me I should've checked my contract beforehand and that it's not fair to the next customer that I had to keep the truck for an extra day. I told her there was no way I was going to get it back by the requested time so I would be charged $50 for an extra day, and then she added insurance without my consent so I was supposed to pay $59. 5. When I went to return it I couldn't use the after hours drop off “due to theft†and then was questioned about furniture pads and a dolly that I never received in the first place

Totally left me shocked and speechless. I also feel that I was overcharged for how much I used the truck (not much). Maybe inflation… idk.

They basically told us to take a hike or take the smaller trailer which resulted in us having to sell half of our belongings in one evening. Uhaul provided no discount or compensation whatsoever. It was an awful experience and I will never be using uhaul again.

michelle G.This location had pros and cons for us. They were amenable to us moving our rental period down by one hour when we were stuck in traffic before pick up. However, we did not receive the appliance dolly that we paid for. We did not realize this until we had already arrived at our new place and had to move heavy items upstairs without a dolly. In addition, this location did not have a box buy-back program. So ultimately, we lost money for the dolly and now have the inconvenience of having to hold onto large extra boxes until we find a new U-Haul center to drop them at. Given how expensive moving is, and the cost of gasoline, these costs add up and can be frustrating.
Matthew B.I ordered a 20 foot vehicle a week in advance. When I got there, they told me they didn't have a 20 foot vehicle available and I needed to go to West Seattle. The lady behind the counter explained to me that they were supposed to have their 20 foot vehicle back days ago, but the previous renter had not returned it. It left me wondering: why was I not called ahead of time then and told they didn't have my vehicle? I could've made arrangements, but apparently nobody at this office gives a shit. I had moving help arriving within the hour, so I asked for a 15 foot vehicle. It took them 30 minutes to change the order and I had to pay my moving crew and extra $100 overtime because I was late getting back to the house. Lessons learned: don't ever book with Uhaul again.

My dad had just passed away recently and he had been in a wheelchair for the past 25 years and due to these circumstances I had a lot going on and Jerome said he would work with me. He got me moved into a few storage units and also worked with me on the late fees for my U-Haul as he said he understood where I was coming from with my Dad passing away. Excellent A++++ service I will recommend U-Haul to anyone I know that is moving and also be sure to recommend the U-Haul location on Ranier specifically to anyone looking to move around this area.
