This was a better organized lot and moved more efficiently than most U Haul lots I have seen. I liked the online checking and check out processes. The photos helped me resolve a billing question that came up after the return.Ed Z.

Upon returning the uhaul truck, an employee lost the key and in turn caused my return to not process so for 3 days straight I was called 5-10x a day as to when I was returning the rental. Now I just received the bill and I was charged for those 3 days when employees knew what the situation was. This was handled extremely poorly and put off on the customer. My box was sent to the wrong location. I was informed of this after waiting in line for over an hour. I had to drive to the second location to collect my items, despite the fact that I was informed that the box had been delivered to the original location. The lock I installed on my box was completely gone and it looked like the box had been re-sealed. I emptied the box at the second location and checked out at the desk, but several days later, I was charged for ongoing storage of the box at the original location where it was to have arrived! After many attempts to correct this and remove my account from the autopay on which it had been manually placed by someone, I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. THIS HAS DECIDEDLY BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ANY ORGANIZATION. Wil never, ever, ever use UHaul again!Marijana I.

One complaint, which is about policy, not this location. We had 4 vans due back on Thursday, two of them due at 2:30 and 2 of them due at 3:30. We returned 3 of them before 2:30 and 1 of them at 3:05. The one returned at 3:05 happened to be one that was technically due at 2:30, so we were charged for an entire additional day. This is a poor policy, considering we returned more than enough vans so that you would not lose out on any business.Ignatius H.

I was hoping to avoid this review and tried every way possible to get ahold of leadership to explain my experience, but due to the lack of communication and no follow up, I'm now at the point where I have to share publicly. I rented a U-Haul from this facility which is managed by John Mattison. Richard was the employee who assisted me and was extremely courteous and professional. It was a busy Saturday morning, maybe a little short staffed, but every employee working that day did the best they could. I didn't mind the wait. When I got in the truck, I noticed the tank was empty and brought it to Richard's attention. He informed me the truck must've been siphoned over night and quickly assessed how to move forward. He advised that I fill up the tank halfway and bring it back at a half tank, and that I'd be reimbursed for this transaction. I agreed and took off for the afternoon. I returned to drop off the truck and had an $88 receipt for the half tank of gas I had to fill up. As I dropped off the truck, Richard and John were there to assist me. I explained the scenario to John and showed him the receipt for reimbursement. At that point John became extremely irate and began to scream at Richard and me in the parking lot. I'm talking wailing, shouting, and exploding at the both of us. John would shout things like, â€œI AM NOT REIMBURSING YOU FOR THISâ€, â€œTHIS IS NOT HOW WE DO THINGSâ€, â€œYOU WERE TOLD WRONG INFORMATIONâ€, etc. He made it very clear that I wouldn't be reimbursed. When Richard stepped in to inform John that this is what he advised me to do, John disgustingly screamed in his face â€œRICHARD! ARE YOU THE MANAGER? NO? THEN GET OUT OF MY FACE!â€ I have never felt more appalled, disgusted, and distressed by such a disgraceful manager. To sit there and shout in a customer and employees face was the most horrific and shameful experience I've ever encountered in a customer service environment. I've never had such a fight or flight reaction to an experience like that, and I have no doubt that Richard was feeling the same. I didn't want to say another word after encountering such a threatening experience with John. I immediately checked out and left the property. Now- the good news is, I ultimately got the $88 refunded back with no issues after that. It was a quick easy fix and was returned to me within a few days. But to have John humiliate Richard like that, during a time where he was not only doing his best but offered a logical solution to the problem, is the reason I will never return to U-Haul again. I've shared this story with family, friends and colleagues and have advised them to do the same, simply from this horrid experience with John. This all took place at the end of May, and ever since I've attempted multiple times to get ahold of local leadership to privately have this conversation. It's been two months of back and forth with multiple customer service reps trying to get in touch with Jason Brolliar, the District Manager for this U-Haul location. I have called and emailed Jason but have gotten no response, so I now feel it is my responsibility to inform the community of what to expect prior to renting a vehicle from this business. My message to the community, and I cannot stress this enough, find alternative truck rental companies. There are many options out there. My message to leadership, and specifically Jason Brolliar- please go check on those employees and make sure they are working under safe conditions. Have 1 on 1 conversations with each employee and truly hear what they have to say about working for John. Based on previous reviews you can clearly see this wasn't a onetime occurrence with him. I would encourage you listen to these reviews, listen to the feedback from these employees, and find a new manager that better exemplifies what it takes to be a leader. Even if Richard did provide wrong information, even if you do have difference processes put in place for scenarios like mine- to react in such a horrific way over an $88 mistake, only to lose a lifelong U-Haul customer, is simply not worth it.Emily B.

John was very helpful when it came to solving our stolen UHaul. He went above and beyond in making sure that our needs were met, all while having a banter that lightened up the mood. Fortunately, they were able to recover the vehicle and John took multiple measures to ensure our insurance covered most, if not all, for the missing vehicle.Khoi H.

This specific location of U-Haul was great. Overall however the experience was terrible. I had a reservation for 8am with the 1st Ave location - made it online and confirmed via phone twice - and when I arrived they said that not only was my reservation at another location (Tukwila) but that the truck was in fact not even available. I still went to Tukwila because I was told they'd be able to support me directly but they were unable to do anything and instead moved my reservation to Rainier location. Nobody at any specific location or at the overarching U-Haul scheduling office seemed to know what was going on or how to rectify the situation other than â€œapply for the $50 at the end of the process because your truck wasn't ready.â€ I'll of course be doing that but that won't undo the day of moving lost which we'd carefully coordinated well in advance. I'm hesitant to use U-Haul again.Andrew M.
The windows were so dirty, I could hardly see out of them after dark, and the mirrors were so dirty, they were useless the whole time. Plus we got a flat tire out of nowhere while we were sitting still in the ferry line, and it took over two hours and a lot of miscommunications for someone to come change it.Katrina K.

I walked in on the two ladies behind the counter having a conversation about one of their relationships and it continued as she helped me. Might have looked up a few times but it was like I didn't exist. Took way too long because their conversation was more important than getting me out the door. I was also misled because they told me I had to return the trailer nowhere near me. When I objected she said to call one day in advance and tell them where I would like to return. I did that and they sent me way up north in Seattle when a location is 1,5 miles from my house.BROCK R.

Uhaul website went down upon my drop off time, and I ended up getting charged for another whole day which was extremely infuriating. Was not happy with UhaulRaahim I.
When I picked up the vehicle I was told the tank was full (or on Full) and I would be charged $9 per gallon if it wasn't returned that way. I drove about 30 miles and it took over 7 gallons to refill the tank. The tank was not "full" when I left apparently. I don't think customers should be on the hook to stop filling the tank at the right level of "Full".Gregory S.

I watched John the store GM berate a middle aged female customer because she was asking questions while he was typing. He evaentually cut her off, cancelled her reservation right there, and said repeatedly he had â€œno equipment for herâ€ â€œnext customerâ€. She was completely innocent, just anxious. Terrible. Please get rid of the afterhours drop off process. It is really a trouble. I had to do it three times to get it done. Very excellent service from Miguel, Jerome, and a younger lady I talked with a bit at the Ranier U-Haul location in Seattle. My dad had just passed away recently and he had been in a wheelchair for the past 25 years and due to these circumstances I had a lot going on and Jerome said he would work with me. He got me moved into a few storage units and also worked with me on the late fees for my U-Haul as he said he understood where I was coming from with my Dad passing away.
