Our truck smelled as if a dead mouse or rat was somewhere inside the vehicle. The air conditioning put out very little cold air. Other than the location of our vehicle, we received no explanation on operation of the truck . We feel some reimbursement is appropriate. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Get more employees on the weekend when people are really moving stuff, there was a line all the way to the door, with one lady working at the desk, it took me 45 min/hr to get help, thats not good.

The checkin experience was nearly 2 hours and very frustrating...undermanned...I felt bad for those dealing with the chaos. Not enough staff for the business....made many enemies today, not to mention those that walked out. The web site continued to crash and was a joke for myself and all those around me who tried to skip the long wait!!!

The service was outstanding. Kenyata was wonderful and friendly! I really appreciated her help when I was late and my first reservation was canceled due to that. She helped us get another truck and I am thankful for her! The truck had some damage and dirt, but mainly I said "no" because when turning the vehicle it sounded pretty rough. But overall in interior box was super clean and it did the job well. I can only image the trucks take a beating but just in case folks working at Uhaul did not know, I wanted to share.

The staff were friendly and seemed to be trying their best. Maybe I happened to go at busy times or maybe they're understaffed, but the gate to access the lockers was never open during the morning business hours when I'd arrive. It's time consuming to find someone to unlock an access every morning you arrive, especially when you're busy moving. Communication could also be improved. There was a lock left on my locker the day I rented. Was told it would be removed that evening and be ready to move in the next day. It wasn't removed or ready when I arrived with a trailer full of furniture. Staff couldn't unlock it. They said they would call a locksmith. I was given a temporary small locker. Called that evening to see if the locksmith came, but they hadn't even called yet. Granted, they were busy, but that was supposed to be taken care of the day before. I had to spend more time moving furniture from one temporary locker to the rental. It's hard enough to coordinate help and transport when moving, and U-Haul did not make the process any easier. .

I refueled but was charged a refueling charge anyway. Called to dispute, was asked for photo evidence - had that and a fuel receipt - then spent (wasted) 20 minutes on the phone listening to David write and process a narrative and generate my refund. If this is typical of UHaul - getting upcharged and having to waste valuable time in a dispute I didn't deserve - I'm more inclined to go elsewhere from now on, like Enterprise, who have always treated me well.

Understanding what is required for check-in and rental. I was prompted to download the app, but it didn't manage our rental at all, and I had to wait in line to complete the rental process. It seems liked several others were confused on the process as well.

My reservation was changed 3 times do to the truck was not at the location that I wanted it to be picked up. Then I can a call 1 day before my reservation that the truck was stolen so I had to make different plans due to I can not pickup from that new location. So I had to get a van not a truck. Noted that this location closes earlier then the 1 location. So I had to bring back the van earlier U-haul did not give me a discount of my troubles with this reservation, Note also I made this reservation 1 mouth before the date.

The two staff members, young caucasian male and female, went above and beyond to check out my vehicle, annotate damages, and explain the rental process. This was the best service I've ever had in my Uhaul history.

The main clerk was great and helpful, but his assistant seemed unhelpful and a hindrance to the clerk. Despite the clerk being very clear and concise over the radio, and despite the affirmative he received, the assistant didn't do the duty of taking the padlock off of our truck. We had to drive back and lost at least 40 min of our moving time.

Got a 86 gas surcharge and I had to go hunt for an employee twice; I regret not asking more questions about the gas surcharge but I just wanted to leave/ get out of there.

My first reservation was awful. I came with my friend(driver), and the lady looked over his ID and repeatedly kept misgendering him even after he explained that his legal and preferred name/pronouns are not the same. She then said that if we're paying with debit I have to do a 160 dollar deposit. I told her that was fine, and then she said she wouldn't take my debit card at all. I called my mom to have her ask questions for me about the policy, and then she kicked me out. She physically pushed me out. After calling corporate my reservation was sent to another uhaul location. Luckily I was able to rent a truck, but the manager there called me shady multiple times to my face while training someone. The person being trained asked the manager what he meant by that, and only then would the manager rent to me. This was a horrible experience. The first location I, and my friend experienced transphobia, homophobia. At the second location I experienced racism. This was awful and set my move back several hours.

The auto transport running lights on the driver's side did not work the entire trip. The person checking me in tried to do 3 things at once. Customer service was an afterthought.

There was lock on the back door and I wasn't provided the key. I'd booked movers at that time and had to wait for 2 hours before someone from U-Haul came to break the lock. I unnecessarily had to pay my mover for those extra 2 hours. I want a refund for my booking and compensation for two hours charges that I'd to pay my movers which was $200

Truck was in pretty rough condition. Grab handle broke off when passenger entered the cab. Staff was really nice and helpful, though.

The truck had a pack of cigarettes in it, smelled like cigarettes and had some trash in it. I showed up the morning of my big move and they did not tell me there was no moving blankets or moving dolly that I reserved. This was very unfortunate and made the move much harder. I truly think this is very unprofessional and would like some of my money back please and thank you. Please feel free to call or email me to follow up. Merci

The Uhaul pickup location had a really nice manager who was very nice and did his best to help me. I was given a truck that had a check engine light on and had no fuel - manager was quick to give me a new truck. New truck had a padlock on it that we had to remove ourselves prior to loading as we were not close to the pick up location. Upon arrival to our destination in California, we noticed that the attic portion of the Uhaul leaked and damaged several of our items. Drop off had very nice employees.

We waited 20 minutes at the equipment drop off area with a tech working a van. Made multiple acknowledgements we were there, never once spoke to us, came to our window or anything. I gave him plenty of opportunities knowing maybe he was busy. He continued to do cleaning and other stuff for the van, making eye contact but never speaking to us. Finished the van , customer took it. Then proceeded to check in a new U-Haul truck that came in way after us. Complete dis everything he could to not check us in. Finally after 20 minutes of being purposely ignored WITH looking at us I gave up. Went and parked the trailer, walked and got a trailer stand and tire Chuck and proceeded to use the app to check us in. He even walked past us without so much as a word. The worst service I had ever received at a U-Haul. I had my brother with me and he was beyond words as well.

Nothing, I was very pleased with everything. Special thanks to Kenyata and Toussaint (hope I got their names right). Kenyatta was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Toussaint was a ball of positive energy that brought joy to my moving day. I might drive past another uhaul location to work with them again!

When I picked up the truck it had 1/2 tank of gas. When I returned the truck it still had a 1/2 tank of gas. They told me I should have taken a picture of the gas gage when I picked up the truck. They made me fill the tank at the gas station and it cost me $70. They knew my mileage, I had only driven 8 miles.

Really ticked off that I rented a 20' van and 4 dozen blankets and didn't find out until checkout that they had ZERO blankets. Had to call around myself to find another location that had blankets and make a separate trip. The van without moving blankets is worthless.

Tristan laughed at me when I said I didn't have a reservation. I was already stressed, and I didn't need that. Also, the wait was so long. I was in line for an hour. You need more staff on site.

This review is not reflective of the Rainier Valley Location. I would give them 5 stars. Honestly I wish you gave me a way to rate my entire experience, so I didn't have to ding the place I picked up my truck. This review is to complain about 1st Ave Self Storage, 2400 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134. I reserved a truck for 5:30 on Feb 17th the business is listed as closing at 6:00 pm. Soon after I got a call from some lady telling me that I would have to have the truck picked-up earlier because she usually leaves work around 5:30-5:45. This didn't work for me because I was at work until 5:00 pm that day. She didn't care and did not offer any alternative other than having someone else pick up the truck earlier she even confirmed on the call that they close at 6:00. I eventually relented and told her I could have someone pick the truck up earlier.Again I was going to be there by 5:30 at the latest and the business closes at 6. Then I get a call the next day from your scheduling people telling me that my original reservation was cancelled because "The truck had been vandalized" locks were popped or something along those lines. So the reservation was moved the location I am currently reviewing. Who actually gave me excellent service and shouldn't have to bear the brunt of this review. I rated this poor,but it's not the Rainier Valley Location's fault. They did great. The 1st Ave Self Storage, 2400 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134 location is the result of my negative review. I hate that this is going to reflect negativitly on my pickup location, they actually did a great job.

Arrived on time. Unfortunately there was only one person on hand and they were tucked into a back room with their back toward the doors. After checking in online per the instructions, waiting around for about 10 minutes, I called customer support. After about 3 minutes on the phone with them the helpful, solo, attendant acknowledged me and offered to help. Once this person arrived, everything went smoothly. During your remodel, consider putting the check-in desk in a more visible, forward facing position.

There was one employee working when I came in the morning of 2/16/24, and she was amazing. I can't remember her name unfortunately, but she was friendly, clearly communicated, and thorough. She made the process seamless and pleasant, and I was out of there much faster than in past experiences with UHaul in different locations.

Not tell someone they it will okay if I'm late with returning the truck because of the forced change of my new storage location as long as I return it same day and then still charge them. Not give me no choice but to drive to another storage and back again causing me to drive over 40 miles and then charge me for those Mike's. Not charge me $100 for a cleaning fee after I turn in the truck where it was you told me all is good and I could leave for supposed cigarette ash was all over the cabin and caused by me when I don't even smoke cigarettes

Our rental had a flat tire the minute we added items to it. We drove it back to the location we rented from and they said there was nothing they could do. They told me to call Roadside Assistance (even though we were at a U-Haul location) and we had to wait over 2 hours for a technician to come out and change the tire. Following this, the location then called me telling me my rental was due back and that I had gone beyond my rental time, knowing we had sat in their parking lot for over 2 hours of my rental window waiting for roadside assistance. Honestly, it was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had.

first, I was given instructions 15 minutes before picking up the truck that my truck was not available and was given another location to go to. This is a difficult transition for me because at the time I did not have a car. Second, when I got there, there was only one employee on staff, who proceeded to be on the phone for over 20 minutes talking to another customer. Three, there was no gas in the car with only 14 miles left in the tank and I immediately after already having two delays had a further delay having to immediately go get gas even though the trunk was locked, it still proceeded to open up at one point during a drive and then was jammed and required a lot of effort to re-close. overall staff was unhelpful. Vehicle was in bad, shape, the lack of gas and disinterest in trying to help solve. The problem will not be using U-Haul in the future.

My unit looks like the door will fall off the hinge. The inside of the unit door has a deep dent like someone knocked something into it. The ceiling is exposed so I am concerned about water leaks eventhough I purchased insurance that will cover if there was such an event. The absolute worst...there is a black box in my unit near the door that says "rat poison".

Main Storage password never worked and I always had to call the storage personnel to open it. I used the unit only ofr 2 month and tried access 5 times. it always the password issue which was never fixed

Very excellent service from Miguel, Jerome, and a younger lady I talked with a bit at the Ranier U-Haul location in Seattle. My dad had just passed away recently and he had been in a wheelchair for the past 25 years and due to these circumstances I had a lot going on and Jerome said he would work with me. He got me moved into a few storage units and also worked with me on the late fees for my U-Haul as he said he understood where I was coming from with my Dad passing away. Excellent A++++ service I will recommend U-Haul to anyone I know that is moving and also be sure to recommend the U-Haul location on Ranier specifically to anyone looking to move around this area.

The work that the lady at the counter is doing is outstanding. She is constantly multitasking with very little help, so more power to her. U-haul will perhaps do better by making technology more conducive and user-friendly for its staff so that they may accommodate reasonable and logical customer requests promptly.

They need to update their help desk. I called the location and the person on the phone told me the UBox hours were 9-8pm. I went there at 6:30. They told me the hours were 9-4. Extremely frustrating.

At the Government store in Mobile, AL, my reservation was not honored and when I was finally able to get my hitch installed, the mechanic forgot to put back my driver side taillight. Not happy.
