Awful experience, my reservation was changed to 20 miles away without a notification. I ended up paying for 40 extra miles. And started the move 1,5 later than planned which cost me as movers already arrived and I had to pay for extra time. Never again will I use uhal.Denis G.

Oh my, there is so much wrong with doing business with uhaul, it's a love hate. One day it's great, the next, the guy behind the counter couldn't give a - Yup, my truck was filthy this morning, and threats if I didn't bring it back clean, the zip tie on the hand truck had been cut so id have to pay for the rental of something that I didn't request. Only way that you can't change me for it is that I had to discover it. There's a word for it, sorry, I know that you must have a lot of bad customers and probably some that never bring back the rig, but don't take it out on the rest of usGalen H.

I will NEVER return to this location. The first person I dealt with, who appeared to be in charge in the morning was a rude, patronizing jackass. First, there wasn't any clear indication where to park my personal vehicle. The stalls I saw with regular cars were full and I found another stall with no cones and so I parked. I get this jackass saying I can't park there. I ignored him because I had a truck to pickup. He comes back inside and gets a serious attitude with me and I respond in kind. I look right at him and ask him where the hell should I park. He points to occupied stalls and then tells me I can park on the damn street and since its Rainier Ave, there isn't any street parking. This is one of those seriously WTF moments. Luckily, shortly after that a parking stall opened up and my friend moved my car. That said, my car was in a stall where it wasn't blocking anyone. But that was that idiot's excuse. I would be blocking their trucks. Well, since the trucks can go by behind me which is where they would be going anyway and they can't go into my side as either side of this stall was blocked off and in front of me was blocked as well, I wouldn't be blocking anyone. If ANYTHING, I would be blocked in. Then the long wait came inside because it was the rude guy and a new hire. I also noticed the new hire was getting talked to like complete crap. I'm surprised he maintained his composure. The new guy ends up helping us and luckily, my business was simple. Overall, the experience was completely lousy. That guy who was the rude jackass needs to get fired. I haven't seen someone treat customers so callously and his own co-workers the same way. If this location wants good reviews and business, I would suggest not treating customers and fellow employees like crap. You don't tell customers to park on the damn street when doing so puts your car directly and fully into a traffic lane. There is no side parking to speak of. Its lane-curb/sidewalk. I'm just in awe that moron suggested that. This location completely cares less about their customers. I would strongly recommend going anywhere else and avoid this location. The general manager at this location is AWESOME! Super friendly and fun to chat with. He helped get us exactly what we needed for the move after we realized we needed a bigger truck. In fact, everyone that we dealt with here from check in to check out was great. I'm glad this is my local uhaul and I'll be back anytime I need to do an in-town move.Krista P.

This was a bad experience. We had prepaid for boxes and did not get most of what we paid for. The service person had a paper with what was prepaid and was shorting the list. They didn't care about our experience. We were also told that if we didn't fold up the blankets we would be charged a cleaning fee! What?!?!? I paid you money for the use and I am not your maid service! This was a very bad experience and we won't be returning to uhaul in the future. There are other options which we will explore.Robert S.

I couldn't change my pick up time on the computer so I tried calling five different times and sat on phone line waiting a very long time with no answers. When I got to the location the clerk was joking on how they never answer the phones. That wasn't ok. This place has done a 180 from the last time I was there (couple years ago) manager is very involved with his staff and train while still getting the job done. It was very nice to see such a willingness to learn from his staff and everything moving at a fast pace. Really great crew and very friendly and constantly helping each other out to get customers in and out. Been a while since I have seen this. Great job to all this staff and mananger!!!ROBERT W.

When available, the staff have always been kind. I say "when available" because they always seem to be understaffed. I had to wait an HOUR in line before I was able to pick up my truck. One (1) individual was overseeing the check-in process on a Saturday morning! There were about a dozen or more in line. This was not only frustrating, but it delayed my move and had my hired help awaiting my arrival. I will likely reconsider where I rent my next truck.Kyle N.

Vehicle had an issue with ramp. Delayed move by approximately one hour. Staff were extremely helpful, understanding, and empathetic to issue. Owner appreciated feedback and said it would be handled urgently. Owner was kind, personable, and genuinely cared about the customer. Will be coming back to this uhaul!Albert Y.

I can't find a single area where my experience could have been improved upon. The guy I got did both, the hook up and disconnect and was very fast, thorough and very friendly. This is my go-to U-Haul rental location. I've been renting U-Hauls since I was in College in the mid '80's and this is the fastest checking in as well as the fastest checking out. There are three U-Haul places closer to me but I'm still coming to this place henceforth.MATTHEW C.

Was a nightmare. Completely understaffed. Heroin needles at the entrance. Waited for an hour to pick up a van that should have taken two minutes because only staff member decided to spend a FULL HOUR helping one guy connect a trailer, rather than service any of the people who showed up. Numerous people simply left. By the end there were like ten angry people with reservations waiting around. I tried to make a Penske reservation while I was waiting but it was too late. Will never visit this location again. Probably will never use UHaul again.Brendan S.

Van was damaged with the plastic liner at the door entry curled up! Hard to load furniture. As I fell out of the van unloading at my show. I immediately returned to the Rainier Ave location to let Hernan know and I called in the damage. I returned the vehicle today at 6:45 am. I asked Hernan for a damage credit he said he would leave my account open but couldn't do a credit bc it was the managers day off. I confronted him bc he knew it was damaged and his name is on the contract. He called the manager and I returned at 11. I called the 1-800 phone number and talked to Kimberly and was told if the manger said he would give me a damage credit I would it need a claim. I was over my miles on the car and I owe for that. At 11 I returned and met w Shedrick he stated my van was not checked in and my rental was still open. 11:07 upon pulling up my rental He then then stated my rental was closed and refused to credit me the damaged van when he offered earlier! He said I would have to call in again! I called in again and talked to Crystal she gave me a claim number! She apologized on behalf of y manager. Shedrick acknowledged to my face he rented me a damaged van. Please clear this up! I have no idea what was charged on my visa. Extremely disappointed UHaul Rainier Ave. Quite shameful. The manager/owner? was superb how he handled discovering my drivers license had expired. He communicated very well and had a good sense of humor. The guy who handled returning the van was also great. He had a nice attitude, and was respectful while managing at least six other customers returning vehicles at same time.Syd S.
I rented from another location initially, you gave away my reservation I had thought it was reserved for 9am-3pm, it was for 8am-3pm. You didn't call you just cancelled my reservation, no email no phone call to see if I was still coming. Of course U-haul made $$$ in the end because instead of a 10' truck I had to rent a 15'. Your staff was super friendly everywhere, but from a customer service perspective as a company you get 0 stars for cancelling my order with no notification or phonecall.Ben C.

I was told I could have the U-box delivered to a residence. When it arrived to the destination city I was told they could not deliver it to the residence. So it became my responsibility to finish the job. I was told all along "no problem" "yes" "of course" it's just lip service. There is a list of other issues I had. I would not recommend U-Box to anyone.John S.
I just want to again thank, Shedrick for his service and personally taking care of my rental. Everything went real smooth, I was able to do pick up my chest freezer from Lowes, make it to Costco to pick up my 72" console and my son was able to move to his new location. Very excellent service from Miguel, Jerome, and a younger lady I talked with a bit at the Ranier U-Haul location in Seattle. My dad had just passed away recently and he had been in a wheelchair for the past 25 years and due to these circumstances I had a lot going on and Jerome said he would work with me. He got me moved into a few storage units and also worked with me on the late fees for my U-Haul as he said he understood where I was coming from with my Dad passing away. Excellent A++++ service I will recommend U-Haul to anyone I know that is moving and also be sure to recommend the U-Haul location on Ranier specifically to anyone looking to move around this area.Jacob M. | Premières impressions
