Staff and overall experience were far above expectations!! My one and only concern is are the outdoor drive up units safe from water damage, water getting in under the doors? Overall an excellent experience!

Many issues with the trailer rental not once but 3 times the morning we went to pick up which made our speedy check out impossible. We reserved ahead and still got the wrong trailer.. 3 times, going back in. Then when they did finally get us the trailer we requested… went out to hook up and the trailer wasn't even in the lot so they were just going to hook up to another one available. When I asked for the paperwork to match the number on the trailer for liability.. it was like we were a burden to them.. clearly it seems as if there are issues with the trailers not being where they should be we didn't want our name on something that was not correct especially if something where to happen I wanted it documented on paper to have in this situation. We have used your company many years and recommend to many people definitely was the worst experience thus far..

Uhaul sure made my move to Saint Joseph Missouri one of the best experiences that I’ve had Kristi the manager in St. Joseph is a very kind person she had to work with me on a few things and it worked out very well and I just really appreciate her and Uhaul for all of the help that they gave to me and my family

The facility held my belongings hostage with no way to contact them for over a year, and then said "oh we still have your things" but were unwilling to work with me on the payments. I hope whoever got my dad's ashes in the auction enjoys collecting human remains.

The overall rental experience online was problematic, with the site being overly overtaken. The site seems unnecessarily over-compartmentalized, having to transfer from one screen/part of the user interface to another, multiple times. Being told on the phone by a customer service representative that the truck I was renting would be onsite when it was not, was inconvenient as I had to drive further into town to secure it. Having the truck/trailer/U-Box rental facility on site with the storage facility would make more sense logistically, and for customer service needs. It would make more business sense to have that all at one location, not scattered all over Saint Joseph, MO. As far as the condition of the contents of my U-Box rental, a number of items were damaged, and will require repair or replacement. I had tightly packed the U-box from floor to ceiling, and back to front. There was no space left when I closed and locked the door to the container. When I opened the U-Box at the U-Haul storage facility, quite a few items spilled out. A number of plastic tote containers and boxes looked like they had been shaken and bounced around as if they had been in a rock tumbler. Another problematic issue was that U-Haul could not directly deliver my U-Box rental to the town that I was moving to. I had to drive 40 minutes, out of state to recover the contents of my U-Box rental, and subsequentially rent a 10ft box truck from U-Haul to transport my items another 40 minutes back to my home state. As a result of this inconvenience, I will not rent a U-Box again, and will go with another pod moving service in the future if that need should ever arise again. As for my customer service experiences, both at the U-Haul Storage and truck rental facilities, those were the only redeeming factors. I can't say enough just how much I appreciated Kristi Jamvold, and the level of customer service she rendered. Kristi was the U-Haul representative that helped me facilitate one of the only positive experiences with U-Haul I've had with this current service order. She is friendly, thoughtful, and is very efficient at her job. Kristi adapted quickly to my changing moving needs, and did so without missing a beat. Kristi made our day yesterday in moving my U-Box out of the loading bay where we could access it easily, transferring the contents to the 10ft U-Haul truck that Kristi made sure we would be able to rent. The representatives at the truck rental facility was very kind, and made sure I rented the right truck for the last leg of my 1 100 mile moving journey. Kristi and the other representatives salvaged my U-Haul experience, and I can't say enough at just how thankful I am for their efforts in accommodating my needs. They are truly positive, valuable assets to U-Haul.

My only issue was not being able to access my unit after work. I understand for most people the hrs are convenient, but unfortunately not for me. Overall U-Haul storage is the best and safest place for your storage needs. Merci

My experience with U-Haul was excellent. I knew it would be a temporary storage, as we needed to find other options for my Dad, who is in a nursing home. He does not have income sources to substantiate long term storage, so we made some room at our home. Thanks so much for the great customer service!

My rep did a great job helping me get the right size storage unit at the new Self Storage on North 36th. They were kind and cordial! My rep made me feel confident about my selection, she is very knowledgeable and explained to me step by step how the secure entry works at the new facility and what to do if I needed assistance. She also mapped out my unit from the front entry, I am so very impressed by the new facility as well as the wonderful assistance my rep provided me! Thank you!!

Saint Joseph Mo. staff was outstanding. Most notable was Ricky at 1717 North Belt hwy Uhaul, Saint Josephy MO. My 4 U-box's arrived in Saint Joseph Mo. 3 days late, called the uhaul 800 number every day for an update, but was never able to receive a status of the box's arrival.

Tried several times to reach the manager via email and cell and had no luck. Location ladies need more help they are always busy and rarely can answer the phone. We get transferred to customer service when we need to talk to our local people. All of our rentals were handled smoothly and friendly with the local ladies at the Belt location but the two times we had to deal with the Kansas City office/depot was HORRIBLE. They are rude, dont listen and clearly dont care about customer relations!!!!!

The office is not located at or near the storage facility which is highly inconvenient when there are problems. The units we were first assigned were already in use and locked with red locks. Then our key card would not work, the PIN code would not work. We had to make 3 trips back to the office. We decided to NOT rent a storage unit from U-Haul. The staff was unprofessional and the office site was dirty and disorganized. Prices are also higher than other local companies with much better facilities and service. I would NEVER recommend U-Haul for a storage solution.

This storage unit had all the space we needed both in units and in unloading space. It would be convenient to have the check in on site instead of two blocks up the road, and larger drive up units would have been our preference instead of multiple smaller units. BUT, the owner was very helpful and kind, the facilities were spotless. It's super convenient location and access. Highly recommend for storage!

There was only one worker at the storage place. He was really busy sent us to tow different units that were already taken so had to drive back twice to location and finally the third unit was open.

The only complaint is I paid my rent every month and when I went to move out there was a lock on my locker preventing me from moving out I was close to closing time and had to get a staff member do you unlock it for me. The other thing when I moved outI notified U-Haul that I was out of my unit no one inspected it or check me out because I got a reminder to pay my rent the following month. Otherwise the facility is nice secure clean and I would use it again

The "hidden" fees were outrageous and ridiculous. There was no solution to you ripping me off! I requested the box to be delivered on a certain day and nowhere did it state you had to have contact with me before delivery. Nowhere did it state my box would be stored over an hour away making it impossible to unload at the site to avoid your ridiculous costs. This was a complete nightmare that cost me more than I was quoted. Worst experience ever and will never use uhaul in the future

When I went to rent the unit their computers were down so it took a day longer to get done. The lights in my row were constantly out. So I had to move stuff with a flashlight often times.

The staff in the store were completely unhelpful. I waited for 30 minutes for them to tell me that I didn't need to check out after moving out of my unit when it turned out I did. Now you're wanting more money when I tried to check out and was given incorrect information and it's almost impossible to reach someone at the actual store.. somehow calls get diverted to their general call center and you'll wait on hold forever on that too. I'll never use uhaul again.

Service was poor overall as my husband spent hours on the phone each day trying to coordinate our move. People in Rancho Mirage ( Curtis was owner) packed our furniture hap-hazardly in tiny u-Hauls. People weren't on time. We should have had 2 mid-sized trucks rather than the 9 units packed in CA. Our move came in 2 shifts: one half came in June, and one half followed in August. The last u-Haul looked as if someone repacked the unit & threw items in. Husband's table saw was on top of a recliner. Tables looked like someone purposely hacked the tops. No pads were used in the last unit! The movers here were terrific. Careful, courteous and more than willing to do what was necessary for moving. They were appalled when they saw the last trailer - said there was no need of such a display of what looked like predetermined animosity!!!

Originally, I rented a unit online and was told there would be a free lock in my unit. I loaded my inventory and went to the storage unit to find there was no lock so I had to haul everything back home. I tried to contact the Uhaul phone number 3 different times and after sitting on the phone for 45 minutes plus every time I never got to talk to anyone. Customer service contact really needs to change. That is terrible customer service. It is ridiculous that I can't call my local office and get this taken care of. After visiting the local office in person (twice), I finally got a lock and a unit closer to the door which I wanted but couldn't pick when reserving online. Now, I have paid for this unit for a full week without being able to use it. Terrible customer service so far!

The restroom were not very clean. 2 out of the 3 stalls were dirty; might even have been plugged. They definitely weren't flushed. Other than that it was a nice, clean storage facility and easily accessible. I would recommend this place.

Not storage related, however the truck was awful. I've used the truck rentals several times and have never had a problem with the truck. This time was very different. The cluster was cracked horribly, the key got stuck in the ignition, the steering wheel was all over the place, the window turner was missing, and it drove like it didn't have much power.

It was not made clear that my free lock would be inside the unit and it did not make it clear that I would need a knife or scissors to break the ziplock tie that was on the storage unit before I could get into it. Other than that, it was clean and easy to get into.

Someone had parked their massive UHAUL truck blocking both of the doors to the drive in area. I had to park outside and deal with the cold to get moved in. Luckily I was just putting my lock on it and wasn't bringing in boxes. I will wait until another time when there isn't someone very rudely blocking the doors. There was no one to be found, the truck seemed abandoned but then later when I drove by it was gone. Please put. up signs or something so people know not to block those garage doors.

The storage facility is extremely clean and secure. It's quite a walk to my unit, but I appreciate the use of the free push carts. I did experience an huge problem while trying to access my unit through the online check in. The people that I spoke with on the phone weren't helpful at all. I sat in front of the storage facility for an hour on the phone, trying to get help checking in to my unit. I was paying my movers $100 an hour, as they sat in the parking lot waiting with me. I literally, had to drive to the local UHaul truck rental facility on north Belt in St. Joseph, MO to ask for help. A young lady named Joanie Higgins was an enormous help. She knew exactly how to get me checked in to my storage unit. She was kind and very efficient.
