Customers using the online check-in should be aware that, after uploading selfie and license photos, they may need to provide name and phone number of a contact who can verify their identity and who would be available to receive a call from UHaul. This was not part of the online help video we watched in advance. Also, our rental wasn't even onsite at the reserved time. The man that was working when I picked my truck up was very nice but the man every time that has been working when I've returned my truck is very rude he gets on his computer says excuse me I got to you got to wait I have a customers for my store as you're standing there as well as he completely ignores you go down to his computer then he turns around and he gets a piece of paper out and says oh you owe me this doesn't show you anything doesn't give you anything certainly disgusting without man I paid $50 for gas I asked how much gas I needed to put in it I didn't get an answer then I find out I put 25 he would not call head office to clarify anything for me I had to go outside and stand in the freezing cold and do it myself unfortunately I was disconnected four times I finally I got frustrated and called the cab and got on the phone with someone where I had to wait a half an hour to be transferred to be dealt with and I'm waiting on a return call as is this is now Tuesday and I return my truck Sunday for a correct exact amount of what I owe because at 89 cents a kilometer compared to the dollar 43 he's trying to charge me as well as I don't believe the kilometers add up properly and that was my dispute but he wouldn't let me see anything or read anything closed it out closed it off and give it to the next guy didn't expect the truck didn't clean the truck didn't do anything just push me out of the way basically and he didn't even he didn't do anything when I left either he gave me more than one price he gave me was 1 000 even the next price when I went back in with 900 and something was outraged at his behavior towards me I have been a customer as well as my boyfriend work company between me my boyfriend and the company he works for were constantly renting vehicles from U-Haul and this is not the first time the second time this is the third time I've been treated with other disrespect in respects to the one Occurrence at the Glenhaven Motel yes we were giving out $50 reimbursement which was very kind of you but at the same time wasn't nearly what the other guy got that was standing beside me nor was it fair amount in my case and in my opinion my phone number is 226-374-9508 I'm still waiting on a response please get a hold of me thank you as well as my boyfriend's phone number is 22 6-926-2165 between those two phone numbers please feel free to look up how many rentals we've done in the last year thank you and don't feel that I'm being disrespectful to your company or not I'm being disrespectful for the variety stores and gas stations that are running your company for you not U-Haul themselves the women and the men that I have talked to always are kind courteous and amazing to deal withShannon M.

The number of furniture pads was less than purchased, the wiper blades were TOTALLY shot and were a safety hazard, useless! Engine oil was low and cab was quite dirty. I want some form of adjustment to my bill.Philip T.

Exhaust leak, cab wasn't as clean as you would expect. When I returned truck attendant said â€œare you going to clean the truckâ€ (the box). I said I swept the box. No issue after. But when all signs in the box say return swept then what else do you expect. Just being picky on a truck that isn't that clean anyhow.Justin H.

The truck was damaged and dirty and they don't tell you when they ask how far you will be travelling that they measure distance in miles not kilometres. This is Canada people will assume distance is measured in kilometres. So my bill was way more than I had budgeted for. Shady practices like that won't get repeat customersJeremy N.

When we returned our vehicle we were advised that we had not put enough gas in the vehicle. We had taken a picture prior to departing (time stamped) that showed their records of how much gas was in the vehicle was wrong. The van had been returned late- 12:15 and we had it rented for 12 and the clerk did not check the gas line. We provided proof and the clerk told my husband that he was lying about the amount of gas that was in the truck before we left. He made us put more fuel in- basically it cost us $30 in gas to drive 17 km. He is well aware of how much gas we put it as it was his gas station. Once he realized that we were correct he refused to apologize and said we had to take it up with uhaul.David C.

Improve customer service. The location I selected for pick up was changed, adding an extra hour of travel time to our move. None of the moving supplies I ordered were delivered with the truck. When I arrived at the location for 8am to do Mobil pick up I was told they had not set up for mobile pick up, so I would have to wait until 9am when the location opened to get the truck. As a result of all these changes I had to start our move nearly 2 hours later than the original planned start time. I will not be using U-Haul in the future.FRANZ S.

I would appreciate it if I, as a customer, didn't have to give all my information a second time when going to pick up the truck. It's a pain in the ass and takes too much extra time for worker to deal with other customers while I wait to finish my rental application. Streamline the process so that customers can do everything online and ALL we have to do is show ID and pick up the keys and go. Plain and simple.Davandra C.

Having to drive 25 minutes out of our way was very inconvenient and was incredibly frustrating. The online check in didn't work so I had to wait for staff to arrive. When they did we found out that the truck that I ordered was not available at the location that I ordered at. I did not receive a call that I had to pick up the truck at a different location. After I picked up the truck, the back door was jammed and wouldn't close. Overall, I finally received the truck an hour after the originally determined time.Karen S.
I used the chart provided to estimate how much fuel to put in the truck upon return. I ended up adding too much gas... an 8th of a tank too much! I told the guy that I used the chart and I felt like it should have been reflected on my bill given the price of fuel right now. He said they don't do that. I was annoyed but I also understand policy. My opinion is that if you always rent the truck on a FULL tank then the customers wouldn't be ripped off when using the given chart to estimate the amount of fuel to pump... we would just have to fill it back to full. Make sure all the lights are working, front left bulb was burnt out; clean Van interior, Van insides was dirty; make sure the customer actually wants blankets before they are charged for blankets and didn't have any (none were needed); improve your computer system . . . took almost an hour to change our reservation, customer service agent had to call the manager for something that he likely would have been able to do on his own if the program was set up to be more user friendly; customer service by both customer service reps was simply EXCELLENT!! there were inconsistencies with the U-Haul Truck share 24/7 service. On pickup, I still had to go into the stor and talk to someone to get the keys. They weren't available in the pickup box outside. On return, I used the 24/7 return service on my phone and went home. A while later, someone called me and asked where the truck was that was due back earlier. I told him i dropped it off on time and put the keys in the drop box, as per the instructions received on my phone through the website.Jeff M.
Vehicle was filthy and the inside was covered in dog hair and left over loose food in the drivers door. I'm amazed I had to request it to be cleaned especially with the Covid protocols. Even after my request it still had dog hair and food. The windshield wipers should have been replaced as all they did was smear the windshield making visibility very poor. Headlights are not very bright and high beams did not make a difference.Lisa G.

Uhaul has a system that is broken. It allows you to rent a vehicle & equipment that are not available. I hand to change days because the truck I rented wasn't really available. The fridge dolly that I rented wasn't available in the same place I picked up the truck. It took 40 minutes to check in even those I had completed all the previous information online. This is not the first time Uhaul has messed up. FIX YOUR SYSTEM.Lorna L.
It was a horrible experience. They tried to charge me for gas that wasn't even in the van. It took 30 minutes to get the vehicle. They tried 2 debit cards then told me to get cash from their atm. Then after that they said oh we can't take cash or debit we need a credit card. I will do whatever I can to never use a uhaul again.Madison T.

The clerk was very helpful, polite and professional but extremely busy. Since this location is at a gas station, the clerk has to service the U Haul customers along with everyone coming to the store for gas etc. This made the pickup and drop off take more than half an hour each time, and that was using the self check in. Good experience but lengthy check in / out at no fault of the employee.Marc Z.

To my taste, truck was not clean. Also had discrepancy in charge, shall I have not complained, they wanted me to pay double of what I had been told and agreed to. I was told $30 + $0,89 X km + fuel + taxes, that would be $96 + fuel, they wanted me to pay $176. I had waved insurance. System was not working in the morning, I had to wait almost an hour for the operator to attempt three times through their laptop. Never had issues in renting a U-HAL, not a first time loaner. i made a reservation quite some time ago for a truck in london november 27 @ 9:00 am pick up. as i am leaving windsor to get on the train i am called and told my truck was not available to be picked up at that time and was now 1:30 pm in st. thomas. this is crap and cost my extra money for uber to st thomas and then they charge me extra mileage after adding distance to my trip. i will never use u haul again and am disgusted by the way this all worked out. you cost me extra money . why reserve something only to have it more or less worthless. you guys screwed me over and added much stress to a trip that was supposed to be stress free. thanks for nothingMike R.

Location was understaffed so it took 30 minutes after my booked time to check in and out, cutting into my booked time. Staff were helpful and friendly through the process though.JOEL S.
Charged me full up fees, even tho I put gas in at their station upon returning, and apparently it wasn't â€œquiteâ€ a quarter tank which I was I travelled 44 miles and paid $168CORY C.

The truck box was not swept out at the time of pickup. Also, the staff charged me for the furniture pads that I had ordered, then when I checked the truck for them and found them missing, told me that they didn't have any and would not contact the next local U-Haul to arrange pickup of the 12 pads I needed. I had to look up and phone the other U-Haul explain that I had been charged, enquire if the other location had furniture pads that I could use and pick them up myself. The staff at the initial rental location changed the drop off location without telling me and said that the mileage didn't matter, it was just and estimation and that a little more or less wouldn't matter...I was charged for the 2 miles I was over. This is exceptionally petty considering the screw up with the pads and the extra 5-10 km I had to travel to pick up said pads. That being said... The uhaul at 16 Sunset Dr. in St. Thomas (where I eventually got furniture pads) was excellent, very accommodating and very professional.Kathleen B.
I was showed on the paper that the fuel tank is half. When I sat in the truck I saw it's less than half. I then took a picture and drove off to finish my move. I came back told the franchise about it they said you should have told us earlier and that they will take half tank. Sounds like a scam. Anyways the truck was also damaged and the bumper had a bug crack and the franchise clearly forgot to mention that to me. I guess hoping to scam another customer for insurance claim.Abhimanyu A.
The attendant who helped us was fine and just did his job. I am not happy with uHaul services in general. I do not like that you cannot change the drop off location if your plans change. In the past I had been able to use an alternate drop off location. The truck smelled like marijuana. (Again not a reflection of the worker. He cannot control this.) The overall fee was close to what I paid a private service to move my entire house when this time we were just moving a couch. I likely will not use uHaul again very soon in my future.JESSICA G.
After getting to destination, opened back door and it smelled like the user before transported cannabis, The Smell was overpowering, Should have been air out at least. It didn't appear to be wipe down in the cab, I would assume this would be covid protocol. At the time of return, the tenant was told of my issues, and came into the back of the uhaul with me, and stated he could not smell anything at all. My moving helper also confirmed that the smell was strong. As i was using the vehicle to transport an item for a bedroom, I didn't want the material to absorb the nasty smell left behind.clark S.

This leaves me with the impression that they don't actually clean the cab, as I called the next morning. I used the truck for a very small distance. I took a picture of the fuel guage prior and after. I showed the gentlemen how the furl guage never moved and ask if i still needed to top it up or is it fine. He said "nono its fine your good to go".
